Soda Tax repeal initiative very likely to make ballot in Washington State

Democrats in Washington State led by Governor Christine Gregoire pushed through a 2 cents a can tax on every 12 ounce soda purchased in the state last April. Now a Tea Party/Libertarian/Conservative effort to repeal the tax appears to be headed for the ballot.

From NJNewsroom.com:

Washington State on Friday (July 2), an industry-funded initiative to repeal the new soda tax appeared likely to be certified to go before voters on this November's ballot. Its sponsors turned in 395,000 signatures, much higher than the 240,000 required.
