Did Sharron Angle’s taunting prompt Reid to oppose GZ Mosque?

From Eric Dondero:

Saturday morning Sharron Angle released this statement, (via Plumline, WaPo):

President Obama has once again ignored the wishes of the American people, this time at the expense of victims of 9/11 and their families. They have said overwhelmingly that the location of this mosque is an affront to the memories of their loved ones who were murdered by Islamic extremists on 9/11. Their wishes should be respected.

As the Majority Leader, Harry Reid is usually President Obama's mouthpiece in the U.S. Senate, and yet he remains silent on this issue. Reid has a responsibility to stand up and say no to the mosque at Ground Zero or once again side with President Obama---this time against the families of 9/11 victims. America is waiting.

The next day, in a released statement the Majority Leader stunned the mainstream media world with a strong rebuke of Obama. Reid said that even though Muslims have the right to build the Mosque, "it should be built elsewhere."

And then there's this recent poll from KSVM NBC 3 out of Las Vegas:

Do you agree with these propsed plans for Ground Zero?

Yes - It is a positive example of how we can move forward from 9/11 (8.4%)

No - A mosque near ground zero is insensitive to 9/11 victims' families (88.8%)

Undecided (2.8%)
