There are many mainstream medical facilities, whether they #39;re for addiction treatment or physical rehab or just general well being, that offer holistic health options, which they term "integrative medicine" or "alternative medicine". Modalities such as yoga, acupuncture, working out in a gym, herbology, various dietary programs, tai chi and qi gong meditation to name a few, are listed on a menu of services. So are these services integrative medicine or alternative medicine? Is there a difference? Does it matter if the same exact therapy is called integrative medicine or alternative medicine? There is a difference between an integrative medicine and an alternative medicine. And the answer can be found in the basic differences between the definition of words integrative and alternative.
