Campanella umbellaria, details with annotation
I ran across a very calm Campanella, and spent some time admiring its anatomy. At 1000X, it is possible to see the silverline system on the pellicle, which turns out to be reticulate, like that of Pseudovorticella. I also took a few minutes to record the presence of a trochal band in the posterior of the cell, and to watch the cilia working inside the long cytopharynx. While editing, I added some arrows to point out the macronucleus. From Mer Bleue bog, in Ottawa. Collected in late October. From:Bruce TaylorViews:6 0ratingsTime:02:37More inScience Technology
