Students at the University of California in San Diego are now able to get a coronavirus test kit from a vending machine, local LA news station KTLA5 reports.

The machines are part of a program in which students and employees will be provided with free tests. The university will cover the cost, but students will have to complete daily symptom and exposure screenings.

Twenty vending machines containing the kits were installed in early December in an attempt to get ahead of any potential outbreaks. Testing is meant for both the symptomatic and asymptomatic.

Remote-only students are also encouraged to take part in free testing twice a month, according to the university’s website.

Anybody who doesn’t complete their test “for more than 16 days will be referred to the Student Conduct Office for the progressive discipline process.”

According to KTLA 5, UC San Diego will also test samples of wastewater outflow for signs of the coronavirus.
