Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Lauri Peterson has revealed that her 35-year-old son Joshua-Michael Waring has died.

Peterson took to Instagram Saturday to pay tribute to her son, who she said died on Easter Sunday. She did not explicitly reveal how he passed away but noted his well-documented history of substance abuse.

It is with a shattered heart that I write this post to let you know that my sweet Josh left this earth Easter Sunday. No one can ever prepare you for this feeling of such deep loss, she wrote. Every fiber in my body hurts. Josh fought every single day for most of his adult life, for his life, but this past Sunday, the challenge was too great.

Not everyone understands those suffering from substance abuse disorder, but I am forever grateful for your understanding and the impact you made on his life. I also thank those who have supported me through this journey and offering kind words of encouragement by sharing their stories of living with substance abuse disorder and the many parents that have shared their stories over the years with me about the children they have sadly lost due to this illness, she wrote.

Peterson was a main cast member on the first four seasons of The Real Housewives of Orange County and then appeared off and on until season 8.

She gave birth to Joshua-Michael in 1988, followed by daughters Ashley and Sophie.

Waring also leaves behind his young daughter, Kennady.

Her fellow Bravolebrities paid tribute to Joshua-Michael on her Instagram post.

Lauri I am so sorry. This is heartbreaking. You tried so hard to save him, and by sharing Joshs story you would up educating people around the world about the tragedy of addiction for those who are touched by it, Bravo boss Andy Cohen wrote.

Oh Laurie, my heart breaks for you so much. I know how much you fought for him and always wanted nothing but the best for him. May the Lord surround you with his angels and give you strength through this incredibly hard loss. I love you friend , Gretchen Rossi wrote.

In February, Waring was arrested on suspicion of punching a security guard in California.

In June 2016, he was charged with three counts of attempted murder for the shooting of 35-year-old Daniel Lopez. After spending four years in prison he entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to time served.

Waring also had multiple arrests on drug possession counts.

Lauri Petersons son Josh Waring died on March 31. He was 35.

The Real Housewives of Orange County alum, 63, announced his death on April 6 on Instagram, writing, It is with a shattered heart that I write this post to let you know that my sweet Josh left this earth Easter Sunday.

PEOPLE reached out to Peterson for comment, but she did not immediately respond.

Alongside photos of Waring throughout the years from childhood pictures to shots of him with his daughter, Kennady Peterson also included a heartfelt message about his life and death.

"No one can ever prepare you for this feeling of such deep loss, she wrote, adding that every fiber in my body hurts.

The former RHOC star went on to say that Waring fought every single day for most of his adult life, for his life, but this past Sunday, the challenge was too great.

Joshs childhood was filled with deep intellect, humor, pranks, athletics, snow boarding, body boarding mountain hikes, reading, friends and his love for music, she wrote. Even during adult hardship, Josh continued to maintain his sense of humor, continued to be optimistic, continued to be kind to others, defended those that were unable to defend themselves and continued to love his family so so much!

Reflecting on his years as a father, she wrote that he received the most joy, pride and purpose through his daughter Kennady and watching her grow and thrive over the years, and thanked those who have tried to help Josh along the way.

In recent years, Waring made headlines for his legal troubles, pleading guilty to a 2022 drug charge after he was found in possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine, the Los Angeles Times reported at the time. He was sentenced to two years in prison.

Waring also spent four years in prison for attempted murder after shooting a man named Daniel Lopez outside of a sober living home in 2016. Lopez survived the shooting.

Peterson spoke out about her sons legal troubles on social media in 2018, alleging he had been set up by police.

After Lauri shared the post, Andy Cohen took to the comments to send his condolences.

Lauri I am so sorry. This is heartbreaking, Andy wrote. You tried so hard to save him, and by sharing Joshs story you would up educating people around the world about the tragedy of addiction for those who are touched by it. May Joshs memory be a blessing to you always. Sending your family all my love.

Lauri appeared in the first eight seasons of RHOC. She and husband George Peterson welcomed Joshua-Michael in 1988, followed by daughters Ashley and Sophie.

Joshua-Michael leaves behind 11-year-old daughter Kennady.

Just moments ago, Lauri took to her Instagram page to announce that Josh died on Easter Sunday.

Lauri then went on to describe the kind of person Josh was.

Even during adult hardship, Josh continued to maintain his sense of humor, continued to be optimistic, continued to be kind to others, defended those that were unable to defend themselves and continued to love his family so so much! He received the most joy, pride and purpose through his daughter Kennady and watching her grow and thrive over the years, she wrote.

Lauri also shed some light on substance abuse issues, something Josh struggled with throughout his adult life in addition to his run-ins with the law, as she thanked those who tried to help him over the years.

Thank you to all of the people that have tried to help Josh along the way. I am witness to many Angels on earth. Not everyone understands those suffering from substance abuse disorder, but I am forever grateful for your understanding and the impact you made on his life. Lastly, she shared some sweet words for her son.

TMHS Robotics wins regional competition | Sports | homenewshere.com – Woburn Daily Times

The Tewksbury High Titans Robotics team competed in the New England North Shore District event on Saturday and Sunday, a regional robotics competition hosted by FIRST Robotics at Reading High School.

Thirty-six teams from around New England participated.

The Titans moved through the qualifying 3 v 3 rounds, and then were chosen to compete in the finals alongside Littleton (MA) High School and Windham (NH) High School thanks to their robots ability to execute a specific challenge in the arena. The three-team alliance proved strategic, taking the first 2 rounds quickly for the win.

The victory was significant for the team. The TMHS robotics team started competing in 2004, winning in 2008, and placing second 2-3 times over the years. The team will travel to another regional competition at the University of New Hampshire.

Teams compete on a pre-defined field with a driver, bot operator, and a drive coach who calls plays.

Teams range in size, skill and age at the tournament and compete six at a time (two alliances of three teams). The theme for this years competition was CRESCENDO, with challenges based around shooting notes into amps and speakers.

The team is supported by volunteer mentors, many of whom are professionals from a host of industries, including engineering, computer science, business, and more. While mentors support the design and development of the robot, they also help students hone soft skills for future college and professional success.

Scott Morris leads the team with Victor Impink, Abiche Dewilde, Berk Akinci, Chris Mullins, Randy August, Chris White and Josh Nichols. TMHS alums David Penney and Eric Impink have been mentoring the team as well.

Competitors for Tewksbury included Donovan Conway, Liam Mullins, Maya Sachdev, Renuka Late, Corvid Dewilde, Jared Woodman, Alex Grove, Christine Buskey, Jordan Troughton, Joanna Green, Becca Matte and Dylan Warren. Additional team members include Amelia Lombardi, Luc Jodoin, and Caden White.

This years challenge had the robots intaking foam rings and shooting at high and low goals, each at different angles.A climbing element was also included where robots pulled themselves off the ground and hung by a chain. The team was not without game-time challenges including overcoming a crumpled arm support, two bent shooter axles, wiring issues, and loose bolts. According to the mentors, the team kept solving problems and never missed a match.

The students have worked on the robot in the evenings and weekends since January. Team members build everything from scratch, gaining technical skills such as machining, 3D printing, laser cutting, wiring and coding, as well as learning project management, public relations and finance. The addition of a swerve drive this year, a component that allows the robot to spin and move quickly, was a gamechanger for the team.

Morris considers the team the premier STEM opportunity at TMHS and encourages community members interested in giving their time to get involved. In addition, the team is always seeking sponsors and is grateful to this years support from iRobot, Onco Filtration, Teradyne, PTC, Holt & Bugbee, Qualcomm, Tokyo Electron, BAE Systems, RTX, Routsis Training, and Tewksbury Public Schools.

Gurman: Apple working on personal robotics as next skunkworks project – 9to5Mac

Apple turned Jetsons-style video calling into reality with FaceTime. Now the company sees personal robotics as an area worth exploration, reports Mark Gurman for Bloomberg. Is Rosey the Robot the next Jetsonian technology to become a reality?

Its way too early to know if Apple will popularize the robot house maid, but Mark Gurman has some very interesting details about a private skunk-works project going on at the company.

Engineers at Apple have been exploring a mobile robot that can follow users around their homes, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the skunk-works project is private. The iPhone maker also has developed an advanced table-top home device that uses robotics to move a display around, they said.

Gurman adds that the robotic display is further along than an Apple mobile bot for the home. However, the robo monitor has been added and removed from the companys product road map over the years, he reports.

Given the history of that product, Gurman has regularly reported on details of the iPad-like product with a robotic arm for the home over the years.

Whats different now? For starters, Apple cleared the runway for its next product category when the firm canceled its electric car project this year. AI and a continued interest in smart home technology also fuel Apples interest in home robotics. Much like the car project, though, Tesla already has shown its work on its own robotics project.

Gurman further describes the table-top robotics hardware as something that will have the display mimic the head movements such as nodding of a person on a FaceTime session. It would also have features to precisely lock on to a single person among a crowd during a video call.

Obstacles include creating something with a reasonable price and gaining executive sign-off on the project before it progresses. Gurman highlights that a job listing from Apple openly discusses next-gen Apple products that use robotics and AI, however, so there are already external signs of life for the department.

NASA Seeks Volunteers for Second Mars Simulation Mission but There Are a Few Constraints – PEOPLE

NASA is searching for a second round of volunteers to take part in a project aimed at discovering what it will be like to live on Mars.

Earlier this month, the space company announced in a release that it is seeking more participants who would be willing to live on a fake version of Mars at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, for one year, ahead of human exploration of the actual planet in the future.

Marking the second of three missions calledCHAPEA a.k.a. Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog the latest will see four volunteers living in a 1,700-square-foot simulation, called theMars Dune Alpha, which is a 3D-printed habitat featuring living quarters for each volunteer, a workspace, a medical station and lounge areas, as well as a galley and food growing stations.

The man-made area, NASA said, "simulates the challenges of a mission on Mars, including resource limitations, equipment failures, communication delays and other environmental stressors."

Crews will also be responsible for various tasks during their time in the habitat, the organization added, including "simulated spacewalks, robotic operations, habitat maintenance, exercise and crop growth."

In order to participate in the simulation, which will close applications on April 2 and later take place in 2025, NASA said volunteers "should have a strong desire for unique, rewarding adventures and interest in contributing to NASAs work to prepare for the first human journey to Mars."

These volunteers, the space company continued, must be between 30 and 55 years old, non-smokers and speak English "for effective communication between crewmates and mission control."

"Crew selection will follow additional standard NASA criteria for astronaut candidate applicants," the organization added, also noting that a masters degree in engineering, math, biology or other sciences is necessary, as is professional experience or at least two years of doctoral work in the areas or a test pilot program.

Volunteers who can be compensated for the mission can also qualify if they have 1,000 hours of piloting experience, as well as if they have military experience or a bachelor's degree in a STEM field with four years of professional experience, NASA said.

Though no human has ever traveled to Mars, NASA has sentseveral devices and rovers to fly by and explore the planet over the years.

Currently, a first CHAPEA crew is taking part in a mission at the Houston-based habitat. They are more than halfway through their mission, NASA said.

In the near future, NASA plans to take part in a similar mission, called Artemis, to learn about the moon in an effort to eventually send the first woman, person of color and international partner astronaut there.

"As NASA works to establish a long-term presence for scientific discovery and exploration on the moon through the Artemis campaign, CHAPEA missions provide important scientific data to validate systems and develop solutions for future missions to the Red Planet," the organization said in a statement.

"With thefirst CHAPEA crewmore than halfway through their yearlong mission, NASA is using research gained through the simulated missions to help inform crew health and performance support during Mars expeditions," NASA continued.
