How to go live on YouTube using computer: Step-by-step guide – India Today

YouTube has a massive reach across the globe. It is one of the most influential social media platforms for video streaming across the world. Apart from online video watching, the platform allows its user to do a live stream.

Going live on YouTube is a way to stand out from the crowd and draw a crowd. Live streaming on YouTube help creators to directly interact with the audience and make more personal connection.

Here is a step-by-step guide you can follow to go live on YouTube using a computer.

But before you follow steps keep in mind that you need to have no live streaming restrictions in the past 90 days and you need to verify your channel.

You can follow the below-given steps to go live on YouTube using a computer.

Step 1: Open any browser and visit http://www.youtube.com.

Step 2: On the home page, click the Create button in the top right corner.

Step 3: From the given options, select Go Live.

Using a webcam is an easy way to go live on your computer. A webcam is compatible with Chrome 60+ and Firefox 53+. You can follow the below-given steps to create a live stream via webcam.

Before you go live, make sure you have prepared a title, description, and thumbnail image.

Step 1: First, go to http://www.youtube.com.

Step 2: Next, on the homepage, in the upper right, click Create option.

Step 3: From the given options click Go Live.

Step 4: From the left select Webcam at the top of the screen.

Step 5: Enter a Title, Description and select a Privacy setting.

Note: You can also schedule your live stream for a later date. You can even click More options and select Advanced Settings for more settings.

Step 6: Click Next, your camera will then take a thumbnail for the Livestream. (You can retake it or upload an image afterwards)

Step 7: At last, click Go Live.

When you're done streaming, click End Stream at the bottom. Hence, by following the above-given steps, you can easily create a live stream via webcam. Remember, all streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.

If you are going live with a webcam then you don't need streaming encoding software. You can easily access all your previous, current, and upcoming streams in the YouTube Live tab.
