How money can buy freedom

What a crock of beans!!

You can still do all those things even without money.

Freedom of drudgery--> If you call having to constantly buy the "latest andgreatestthing" so that you keep up with the rest of the wealthy people freedom. Best thing I found freeing is realizing that I do not need the latest piece of marketing crap. And why pay for someone to dosomething?Whynot do it yourself so you learn something thus when you save money int he future when this same task comes around again. Plus when you do the job and once completed and looks good, you also get a sense of accomplishment. And why should I care Oprah is in the grocery store or not????

Freedom of travel--> Heck, the section even says you can travel on a shoestring. I like traveling like this as yo see more interesting sights and you meet more interesting people. And I would suggest trying to look around where you live and you might see there are some places that might be just as interesting to go see like that of some spot halfway around the world.

Freedom to choose--> You can choose any time. Yes, it does take some money, but the main thing it takes is "guts." Yes, you might succeed but you also might fail. Do your research (be it online or at the library) and if you have enough money saved up, go for it. Look at Bill Gates, Paul Allen, Steve Jobs, Ralph Lauren, and a lot of other people. They all had an idea and some did have money (and some did not). But they all took a chance....

Freedom of a good education--> Who says you need a degree from Harvard to show you got a good education??? There are some schools that give even better educations than what Harvard or any Ivy League offers. Find a good schools you want to attend due to they have great academic listings and go for it.

Freedom to live longer--> Heck, my grandparents lived during the Great Depression and they all lived into their 90's. Same as with my parents. But they walked to get where they wanted to get to, ate very fresh food (grown out of their garden), they did not eat fast-food crap, and they had a healthy attitude towards life. They were not interested in keeping up with the Jones by buying the latest things. Yes,life threw some nasty challenges at them, but they kept a level head and moved with the flow of things.

So I would challenge the "author" of this diatribe and point out how some people who may not be as well-off (monetarily) yet they seem to be very happy and content on how their lives are going and/or went.
