Corrado Recalled by Vancouver & Blain Rejoins the Comets

March 28, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL) Utica Comets Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Michael D. Gillis announced today that the Canucks have recalled defenseman Frank Corrado from the AHL Utica Comets. Defenseman Jeremie Blain has also been reassigned to Utica from the ECHL Kalamazoo Wings.

Corrado, 20, has recorded 14 points (5-9-14) and 40 penalty minutes in 54 games with the Comets this season. He also has appeared in 11 games with the Canucks this season, registering seven hits and 13 blocks.

The 6'1", 200-pound defenseman was originally selected by Vancouver 150th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Blain, 22, attended training camp with the Comets but was assigned to Kalamazoo on Oct. 18, 2013. In an injury-shortened season, Blain has recorded 15 points (3-12-15) and 47 penalty minutes with the Wings.

The 6'2"", 192-pound defenseman was originally selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round (#91 overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
