Coming up: AM in Aerospace webinars to add to your calendar – 3DPMN

With the travel and social restrictions imposed to keep the COVID-19 pandemic at bay, doing business looks a lot different today than it did last year. No longer are AM industry players meeting at trade shows or traveling to global offices, instead, we are tuning in virtually to stay in touch. Despite the physical and mental challenges of talking to a screen all day, I think the additive manufacturing industry has made the best of the situation, quickly rallying to create webinars and other engaging digital content.

The downside of an industry eagerly producing webinar meetings and discussions is that it can be hard to track what events are taking place. To make this a bit simpler, we are now tracking a broad selection of webinars (admittedly, non-exhaustive) on our 3dpbm event calendar. We hope this intuitive interface will enable industry members to browse and select the AM webinars that interest them most.

What interests us most right now, incidentally, is aerospace. As part of our Aerospace AM Focus topic this month, we are highlighting a number of aerospace-related webinars hosted by additive manufacturing companies. Read more about them below:

This webinar is hosted by Stratasys as part of its aerospace webinar series. The virtual event will dive into the challenges of 3D printing aircraft production parts as well as present the companys Aircraft Interiors Solution (AIS) for certifying 3D printed aircraft parts for installation. The webinar will be led by Niccol Giannelli, Stratasys Aerospace Application and Account Manager EMEA.

This webinar is co-hosted by EOS and RedCabin and will look specifically at the use of polymer additive manufacturing for producing aircraft interior components. The panelists, including AM Globals Stephan Keil, EOS Markus Glasser and Vinu Vijayan, Air Frances Frederic Becel and Lufthansa Techniks Karl Bock, will discuss the benefits of polymer 3D printed parts in aircraft interiors, as well as hurdles such as certification, availability of raw materials and more.

Hosted by Stratasys as part of its aerospace webinar series, this virtual event will look at three key points pertaining to the value proposition of AM to airlines: where and when does AM make a business case for airlines; what hurdles exist and how can they be overcome; and use cases of AM for airlines, with a focus on aircraft interiors. The webinar is led by Chuan Ching Tan, General Manager of Additive Flight Solutions.
