Reel Story; Super Smash Bros Wii U

I will be journeying back to the world of my Wii U because Super Smash Brothers Wii U was released and of course I got the game.

I will start with what I hate with this game.

It plays just like Super Smash Brothers Brawl on the Wii. Super Smash Brothers Brawl played too much like Super Smash Brothers Melee on the Game Cube. Super Smash Brothers Melee was a great follow-up to Super Smash Brothers on the Nintendo 64.

Do you get where I am going with this?

In case I lost you, this new game feels like a recycled version of a recycled version of Super Smash Brothers Melee. To me there are not enough differences in style of game play from the previous games. All this feels like is Super Smash Brothers Melee with Wii U graphics and the Final Smash feature of Super Smash Brother Brawl.

Im not saying the game is not fun to play because it is. When you have a bunch of people to play with this game can be loads of fun. That said, because it really is the same game yet again, with the same game mechanics yet again, it can become stale and repetitive.

The character selection in this game goes to both extremes with me. On one hand I find it uninspired and on the other I think it is great.

The uninspired part comes from the fact that characters from the Mario and Pokemon franchises flood the roster, over possible character from The Legend of Zelda or Metroid. Sure from Zelda we have Link, Ganondorf, Zelda, Toon Link and Shiek but what about other characters?

Aganhim from A Link to the Past would be awesome. What about the Skull Kid from Majoras Mask? Or a Staflos? What about the old man from the first game that gives you the sword? What about some of the playable characters from Hyrule Warriors?

Metroid does not have a lot of characters to choose from. Kraid, the giant dinosaur that is Godzilla size is way too big for a game like this. Mother Brain could work but only if she has her body from Super Metroid. Mother Brain is usually just a biological computer locked in a glass container. Golden Torizo from Super Metroid would also be pretty sweet.
