Musicman Kiran Thotambyle returns to medicine to become Covid warrior – Times of India

Even though he trained to be a medical professional, he found his calling in music when he turned composer for the Upendra-starrer I Love You. But with the Coronavirus pandemic changing the world as we know it, Dr Kiran Thotambyle has now returned to the medical service and is on the frontline fighting the pandemic. The doctor-turned-music director is now working at a fever clinic to treat Coronavirus patients at a private hospital in Bengaluru.Dr Kiran says, From 9 am to 4 pm I work at the hospital, after which I head to my studio till about 2 am to compose for some of my upcoming projects. As someone who was sworn into the medical profession, I thought this is the right time to do all I can to to serve society. Although my passion is in music, there is no way I could ignore the pandemic and the fact that I could help. Sadly, the current situation in Karnataka looks grim. We dont have any other solution until a vaccine is found. People need to follow precautionary measures to keep the Coronavirus pandemic at bay.Incidentally, it was director R Chandru who introduced Dr Kiran to cinema with I Love You. The filmmaker was looking for new talent to collaborate with for his film when he heard about Dr Kiran. And now, the doctor-turned musician is also working on Chandru's next, the big-ticket Kabzaa.
