DCeased: Dead Planet is Heading To The NEW Gods’ Home – Screen Rant

With time running out for a cure, the surviving heroes of the Justice League head to New Genesis, home of the New Gods, to pull off a heist of the ages

The Justice League from Earth-2 had no idea what they were returning to when they returned to their previous planet after the events of DCeased five years ago. Now their search for a cure for the Anti-Life equation is taking them to all sorts of unlikely places, such as the planet New Genesis, home of The New Gods.

Created by writer/artist Jack Kirby in his 1970sFourth World comic series, New Genesis is a benevolent planet ruled by the all-powerful Highfather whosepeople are locked in constant conflict with its evil counterpart, the planet Apokolips and their ruler Darkseid. Built on the foundations of the 'Old Gods', the people of New Genesis maintain a spiritual connection to the primordial metaphysical force called The Source which they believe enables all their divine abilities. Although they would constantly be at war, Highfather and Darkseid once attempted a truce by exchanging their sons with Darkseid's son Orion raised on New Genesis and Highfather's son Scott Free raised on Apokolips which was maintained until Scott escaped Apokolips. Many of these entities from both planets have made themselves known to Earth and its heroes with many of them playing crucial roles as protagonists or antagonists in many of Earth's conflicts. In DCeased, it was Darkseid who created the corrupted the Anti-Life equation for Cyborg to carry back to Earth as retribution for his latest defeat at the hands of the Justice League. However, this activity backfired as the genocidal dictator was infected and upon throwing himself to the planet's core, Apokolips and all its denizens were destroyed as the planet exploded.

With the returning heroes recently learning that there is indeed a cure for the Anti-Life infection, the surviving Justice League's search will take them off-planet, via a Boom Tube, to New Genesis for what is described as the greatest heist in the history of that planet! How does one steal from the New Gods and live to tell the tale? Considering that the first issue of DCeased: Dead Planet is currently awaiting a second printing, one could say fans are dying to find out and hopefully, our heroes heist isn't too late to save the homeworld and billions of undead people they left behind.

DCeased Dead Planet #4 written by Tom Taylor with art by Trevor Hairsine and Gigi Baldassini will be released on October 6th, 2020. Along with the main cover by David Finch, a card stock variant by artist Francesco Mattina and a movie homage variant cover by artist Inhyuk Lee will also be released.
