Senior girls basketball Comets playing close

The MUCC Comets senior girls basketball team has had a series of close games in their recent tournaments at Moose Jaw Peacock on January 15, 16 and 17 and Prince Albert St. Mary on January 9 and 10. According to Comets coach Penny Anderson the competition is so even that this situation has developed. This has been our theme the last two weekends, we are right in the mix with everybody, but everybody is just so closely matched up we are usually five points and under difference. We have to work on our finishing and we are turning the ball over too often, Anderson said. They wrapped the tournament in Moose Jaw with a 30-28 loss to Meadow Lake on Saturday morning. On Friday afternoon they lost 43-40 to Meath Park. They opened the Moose Jaw Peacock tournament with a 67-48 loss to the host club on Thursday evening. In Prince Albert the Comets wrapped the tournament with a 52-44 victory over Kinistino on Saturday, January 10. Talitha Chetwynd led the Comets with 21 points, while Nina Wingate added 12 points.
