Day 9 Fresno CA to Point Reyes CA
We made it to the coast today....approximately 2800 mi from home. We're not even halfway though our trip Started out at 8 am today. Ate free breakfast at the motel. I thought we would run into some traffic around Oakland and Berkley but I580 was smooth sailing. We exited the freeway to CA1 Shoreline drive around 12pm. Saw the beginnings of some of the redwoods but won't really see the b

Return to the journey
6th BlogI donrsquot think days have dates or names at 4.00 am especially in winter but that was the time that we had to arise to get back to Alice Springs on Tuesday 22nd June. Tiger Airways got us back by 9.00 am local and our car was returned to us by a friend that lives in Alice Springs. It was not long before we had stocked up on a few things and were on our way back to Glen Helen resort

Saturday June 26 2010
We were up at 5 today and lucky us the weather looked gorgeous outside. Today was also the day we had to move out of the rental home so we had to make sure everything was packed into the car before we left for good. The boat was over the other house so we stopped there and dropped everything off. We headed to the marina about a half hour drive got the boat in the water and headed out. The
Sunday June 27 2010
I guess Daniele wasnrsquot kidding when he said that it would get cold. I was FREEZING this morning when I woke up. My 15730 sleeping bag didnrsquot really do much gonna have to bundle up more from now on. The new house we are in is pretty basic walls and windows nothing fancy. The other houses we have stayed in have all had head and real thing stone walls not this time. Anyways
Day X
So yesterday was my first day of my 3rd year of medical school. Kind of felt like I was jumping off of a cliff. I was ready and excited but also terrified and needed a bit of a push. It's the kind of thing that for me seem to be easier when you can kind of jump on your own terms without a lot of fanfare so it's a good thing that I live by myself. The last two days have been fairly unremarkab
Monday June 28 2010
Today we went out from the marina the weather didnrsquot look to bad when we headed out. It was a real strange day though very cloudy and cold in the morning and sunny but cold in the afternoon with glass smooth seas. We got to the river but were puzzled to find absolutely nothing. Not even the birds were out fishing today. We barely saw any dolphins and if we did only from a distance.
Why I love India 6 Mango Season
This will be a relatively short blog because I have to get back to eating mangoesPut simply I love the mango season in India in fact I love a lot of fruit seasons but mangos are special. OK so I am currently in Orissa and I suppose the actual mango season varies slightly from place to place. But here in about the middle to late May and extending right through to at least middle to late Ju

Nam’ 2010 Cat Ba Island
The next day I left early for Cat ba island first taking a bus from Hanoi to Haiphong and then a ferry to cat ba island and finally a mini bus to Cat ba town.Foolishly I presumed Cat Ba was a sleepy little fishing village where only a few travellers ventured to well this was the impression that lonely planet gave me so I did not bother booking a hotel in advance. In fact the town is very poplua
Nam’ 2010 HALONG BAYAMAZING
Halong bay was the only place I was desperate to see in Vietnam it was the place I had dreamed of visiting since I first saw images of the geological sight in middle school. It did not disappoint in fact it was the only thing that had not disappointed me about Vietnam. I was very lucky to be the only nonvietnamese traveller on the day tour. We left the harbour on a traditional Vietnamese fishin
Estamos en Peru
Its our first entry while actually abroad Today was our first day in Peru. We arrived here in Lima at 1AM yesterday morning after a 7 hour flight to Columbia and then a 3 hour flight to Lima. We actually barely made it since we almost missed our plane from Bogota Columbia to Lima. While on the flight we were reading our travel guide about what to do in Lima and how to get into town from the air
Nam’ 2010 The Departure
In halong City it was sad to part ways but I was desperate to get back to Hanoi knowing I would be leaving Vietnam the next day.A long and uncomfortable minibus ride took me to my hotel in the old quarter which would have been perfect if it were for the bugs about the room. Oh well canrsquot always win. I spent the afternoon eating as many of the street snacks of Vietnam that I had missed out
‘Nam 2010 Epilogue
Vietnam reminded me of China but in terms of development it was closer to what China was like 20 years ago that is if you ignore the iphones and internet cafes. I was expecting Vietnam to be much more developed especially after doing a project on its economic growth in high school so I was very disappointed. It seems that everything happens at a much slower pace in Vietnam things are done tomor

Everything was perfect for the wedding last night just before the bride and her dad walked out it drizzled for just a few minutes long enough to cool everything down. It was a small and simple ceremony and everyone was happy and relaxed. The reception was low key with delicious hors drsquooeurves and all the mai tais we could ever want. This morning we took a boat out to Molokini to snor
