More Kenyan Tales
I am sitting in my friend Johanna's apartment located near downtown Munich. Thanks to the noisy city traffic I am the first one up and so I finally have a minute to update my blog finishing the stories of our Kenyan adventure. The day following the last medical clinic we began our morning going out to a small village where a church in Garissa does a sports ministry and plays soccer with som
Temples Trekking Mauy Thai
Okay an early start in Bangkok allowed us to get the train 2 hours north to a city called Ayuthaya which is full of old temples and stuff. At first it was quite impressive and I really like the Cambodian style temples but you had to pay an entry fee to get into the grounds. And I wasn't doing that when I have a perfectly good zoom feature on my camera. Like I said the temples were impressive but
ROS ROBERT
Left Tiaro Petrie Park camping area about 9.15 and headed towards Calliope Historical Village. Arrived about 1.30 and set up camp on the topside overlooking the river. We are permitted to stay here for 2 days although some people stay longer. I don't think that they worry too much. We have no toilet facilities except for some portaloos. They say that someone came during the night and put
day in berlin
me and the guero went on a tour today of Berlin and it turned out to be such a great experience. So amazing how the people of this city have overcome so many obstacles. I never realized how much this city has suffered during the last 100 years. I also have learned and been inspired by how the unification of a community can make change happen in a very drastic way. Futhermore I have learned r

Bonjour Nos AmisInteresting trip back o France since the Italian Workers decided to go on general strike at precisely the time we thought we were flying outbound from Florence. Consequently we wound up napping by a busy traffic circle by the terminal under a shade tree until the gates reopened only to discover that our destination of Toulouse France on Air France was only reachable this day

Day 16 Vail Glenwood Hot Springs Glenwood Caverns
After that very long and very tiring drive last night we were exhausted which made us both sleep like little babies. We woke up this morning in a small town called Frisco CO and of course we were in the WalMart parking lot. Unfortunately we were up before our alarm went off due to someone's car alarm that was continuously honking right beside us. We hopped up and began getting ready for the day

Today we went out from the Fitzroy river again but this time with Shane. Shane works for the Fitzroy River Basin Association and is in charge of allocating funds to different community projects such as the one we are doing. Consequently most of our grant funds come from the FBA and Shane and he and his coworkers will be coming out on the boat with us every now and again. The drive to the ri
Wednesday June 30 2010
Sleeping in until 730 feels like such a luxury Except for the part that we live across the street from a few car shops and I woke up to a grinder bright and early in the morning. Go figure. I guess I canrsquot escape the damn grinder anywhere In case any one is confused the grinder is Alexrsquos favorite tool and he would use it to cut his fingernails if he could. I wouldnrsquo
The Master Craftsman
A backpacker visited a Zen master to have a cup of tea. While the tourist was drinking the tea the master was subjected to some questions about Zen. ldquoMaster what is ZenldquoMaster why is Zen ldquoMaster can I have some milk for my teardquoldquoMaster is Zen ZenrdquoThe Master got up and started fiddling with the visitors pack. From within his robes the Master produced an u

Vancouver Day Two
According to Julia ACDC is the best band ever. Prior to our trip she discovered that they had recorded in a studio on Powell street in Vancouver. Our mission on Day 2 was to find said studio and at least touch the same door handle as her lsquorock godsrsquo. And so with 100 Powell street as one of our objectives we headed out to explore Vancouver. Our friends Mike and Sandra served as
Vancouver Day Three
According to Julia I snore. Loudly. I refuse to accept this as truth but woke up in the morning vaguely aware of getting an elbow or two in the ribs the night before. Oh the joys of sharing a bed. My friend Mike lent us his car and so Julia and I ventured out to Lynn Canyon Park in North Vancouver. Most tourists head to the Capilano suspension bridge but why fight the crowds and pay a smal
Day 5 Hope to Quesnel
Following the Gold Rush TrailOh the things wersquove seen Our drive from Hope to Quesnel took us through the Fraser Canyon. I cannot begin to find the words to describe how truly magnificent this drive is. Pictures do not do it justice although we took plenty of them. There was rain off and on but that did not in any way detract from the experience. In fact there were times when driving t
