WWE News: Cris Cyborg wants to face Becky Lynch at Summerslam – Sportskeeda

Whats the story?

Cris Cyborg recently used a fan-made poster to challenge Becky Lynch to a match at Summerslam, and the Irish Lass Kicker was quick to retort.

Cyborg is a former Strikeforce and Invicta FC Womens Featherweight Champion who currently competes in the UFC. Although shes had certain issues with various promoters, the Brazilian mixed martial artist hasnt tasted defeat in almost twelveyears.

Cyborg and Lynch had a rather lengthy back and forth on Twitter; in fact, they even mentioned Triple H and Dana White during their exchange. While this was nothing more than playful banter, it appears that the worlds of mixed martial arts and professional wrestling are more willing to cross over than ever.

Cyborg has an iron clad contract with UFC, and she cant make an appearance at Summerslam without her employers permission. She also doesnt have a recognised professional wrestling background, so its practicallyimpossible for her to have a meaningful match with Lynch.

Becky Lynch and Cyborg are two talented performers who are the top of their respective professions. They might never have a professional wrestling match, but both of these women have a lot to offer the world of combat sports.

Sex robots in ‘EVERY shop’: Cyborg maker vows global ‘revolution’ despite calls for BAN – Daily Star

A WORLD leading cyborg developer has vowed to sell his hyper-realistic sex robots in adult shops across the globe despite stark warnings his creations could be a danger to society.

Sergi Santos is the Barcelona-based developer behind a romantic sex robot named Samantha that likes to be touched.

An extraordinary video revealed by Daily Star Online shows how his artificially intelligent (AI) fembot can feel pleasure and orgasm if in the mood.

Mr Santos, 38, showcased Samantha along with other creations that can talk at the worlds first try before you buy exhibition in his home city.

Now, three months on, the scientist has exclusively revealed his plans to sell his very human sex robots in X-rated shops across the world.

SERGI SANTOS/GETTY

SERGI SANTOS

Can you tell the difference between these dolls and real girls?

Mr Santos has signed a deal with a factory in China to produce his cyborgs en masse and ship them to sex shops in every major city on a global scale, he explained.

His deal with the factory could see sex robots flood adult shops within 30 to 50 days as it will allow him to produce a minimum of 50 a week.

It means his sex robots could hit the shelves in adult stores and seedy red light districts up and down the UK from Londons Soho to Glasgow city centre.

Sergi shared a picture of one of the new proptype models being considered for production with Daily Star Online.

He said they will cost around 3,000 ($3,923) when they go to retail.

SERGI SANTOS

What we will have will be completely exact to a human's behavior and looks.

He spoke of his plans amid a storm of alarming warnings from academics and religious groups concerning the dark side of sex robots.

A recent report from the Foundation for Responsible Robotics raised concerns that the growth of lifelike sex robots could pose a danger to women and children.

The author of the report, Professor Noel Sharkey, said submissive sex robots could encourage sickening sex crimes including abuse, rape and paedophilia.

The Salvation Army has also warned that the rise of sex robots could fuel demand for people trafficking in the UK.

In some countries primarily Japan sex robots are being marketed as potential cure for paedophiles and rapists.

But ethics expert Sharkey, from the University of Sheffield, has called for a ban on sex dolls and robots that resemble children over fears sex crimes could become more acceptable.

A sex doll (also love doll or blow up doll) is a type of sex toy in the size and shape of a sexual partner for aid in masturbation. We take a look at the most life like dolls available in the world.

RUPTLY

Sergi has challenged Sharkey, insisting it is too early to make such statements without sufficient research.

He said: It is dangerous now to say: 'no to sex robots' or 'yes to sex robot.

"It is time to think and debate openly rather than argue with absolute statements.

"Only after the revolution is gone, and sex robots are established in our society, statements will be strong enough to be given I think."

He also disagrees with Prof Sharkey on the issue of sex robots being able to feel emotions and love humans.

Mr Sharkey the head judge of TV show Robot Wars said sex robots dont have any emotions and are a a pretty poor reflection of a human.

But Mr Santos said that the professor has glossed over the real evidence.

He told Daily Star Online: Some state that machines cannot love, others that they can only simulate feelings. Such comments are, at most, pseudo-scientific.

There is no single law of nature that says anything about emotions being exclusive of naturally evolved creatures.

My robot at the moment is extremely simple to a certain extent.

But it is clear to anybody that knows about how computation evolves, will see what I have done as completely ridiculous compared to what we will have.

What we will have will be completely exact to a human's behavior and looks.

This will happen as long as we allow ourselves and we choose to do it, i.e. no laws make it illegal.

SERGI SANTOS

Computing philosopher and scientist Dr. Jordi Vallverd told Daily Star Online that more research needs to be done before sex robots are banned or approved to treat sex offenders.

The academic, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, said Sharkeys analysis of sex robots is flawed and based on Christian-Western prejudices.

He said: Robots should not reproduce wrong behavior patterns, like child abuse.

But at the same time it is certain that we allow our kids to play at very violent videogames, killing people as a fantasy without considering the necessity of forbidding these games.

Obviously both situations should be banned, but at the same time the possible role of specific sexual dolls from a psychiatric perspective should be seriously evaluated before being banned or allowed.

Daily Star Online has previously revealed how one of the worlds most advanced sex robots Realbotixs Harmony android is set to hit the market at the end of 2017.

Founder of the firm, Matt McMullen, released a Harmony AI app that allows users to create a unique personality for their sex robot.

Annual subscriptions for the app can for bought from RealDoll for around 15 ($20).

At present, Matt is developing a robotic head that can be attached to a life-like silicone sex doll from RealDoll and synced with the app.

The head, along with the RealDoll silicone body, will set customers back 11,700 ($15,000).

MMA Ten: Snoop Dogg’s UFC debut, Mighty Mouse wins an ESPY, Cyborg calls out WWE wrestler – The Comeback (blog)

The MMA Ten keeps you updated on the latest news from the world of the UFC and beyond!

This week: We offer you a respite from the clown show press conference tour of Mayweather/McGregor! Listen to some of Snoop Doggs first UFC commentary, check out Cris Cyborg calling out a WWE wrestler, take in a freakshow fight from Japan and enjoy the world famous MMA Nickname Battle of the Week!

Lots of talk this week about whats boss and whos the boss at the entertaining, yet utterly ridiculous Mayweather/McGregor press conferences. Nate Diaz hopped on his Instagram to let everyone know especially Conor and Dana who the real boss is.

We just have to see Nate and Conor fight one more time. Maybe thats what Nate is holding out for because he hasnt fought since losing to Conor in their rematch back at UFC 202.

Snoop Dogg and Urijah Faber are teaming up to offer viewers of the new Dana Whites Tuesday Night Contender Series an alternate commentary to the fights known as SnoopCast. If you ever wondered what it would be like if MLK called UFC fights, Snoop gave you a little taste Tuesday night.

You can catch Dana Whites Tuesday Night Contender Series Tuesday nights only on UFC Fight Pass.

Gabi Garcia is a BJJ world champion and she made the switch to MMA a few years ago. Shes turned her career into an absolute farce. Her most recent opponent was the 45-year-old Megumi Yabushita, a kickboxer with a professional record of 1-10. Garcia outweighed her by at least 70 pounds, likely even more on fight night. The fight went as expected.

Japan loves the freakshow element of the fight game, and at times fight fans do too. But mostly when its along the lines of Jose Canseco vs. 7-foot-2Hong Man Choi, not this garbage.

Cris Cyborg will get to fight for the UFC featherweight title at UFC 214 on July 29, but she got in on the Mayweather/McGregor fun this week by tweeting to WWE boss Triple H and calling out WWE superstar Becky Lynch.

It was a tongue-in-cheek tweet, but The Lass Kicker responded with a KO punch.

Justin The Highlight Gaethje may have just joined the UFC, but hes already scored himself a coaching gig for the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. Gaethje made his debut with an outstanding second round-finish of Michael Johnson last Friday at the TUF Finale.

UFC lightweight contender Kevin Lee didnt like the news all that much.

The next season of TUF will feature the womens flyweight division, a new addition to the UFC. It will include crowning the new divisions first champion at the end of the season.

Conor McGregor has a fan in fellow countryman Rory McIlroy, currently the No. 4-ranked golfer in the world. McIlroy offered up his thoughts on McGregor recently and talked about his admiration for McGregors mindset and mentality.

Now lets all hope Rory shows up to the next major with no shirt on and a polar bear coat.

Cutting weight is one of the tougher things to do in the fight game, but if you have long hair, you can easily cut some weight with just a pair of scissors. Brittney Elkin will make her Bellator debut Friday night, and she did just that to make the weight limit.

Thats not the strangest way to make weight though. Former UFC fighter Cody McKenzie once donated a pint of blood to make weight a few years ago.

In somewhat of a shocker, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Mighty Mouse Johnson won the ESPY for Best Fighter, beating out big names like Conor McGregor and Gennady Golovkin. McGregor came up 0-2 by losing to Johnson in the Best Fighter category, and to Usain Bolt in the Best International Athlete category.

Amanda Nunes made weight and was set to defend her UFC bantamweight title against Valentina Shevchenko, but she pulled out of the fight, even after being medically cleared to participate. Nunes said she ended up going to the hospital due to chronic sinusitis, but Dana White wasnt particularly buying it.

After the weigh-ins she made weight. Leading up to the ceremonial weigh-ins I got a call she wasnt feeling well. It was questionable whether she was going to show up. She does them, she was good. This morning, I hear shes not feeling well again and shes probably not gonna fight. I asked the doctors whats wrong, she was medically cleared, they found nothing wrong with her. She just didnt feel well.

You cant make anybody fight. he said, I dont feel right. I think it was 90 percent mental and 10 percent physical. A lot of times weve had fighters who dont feel right and other times theyre outright sick. I dont know if Ive ever had a situation like today where she was physically capable of fighting.

I can easily break this down for everyone. If Nunes was the challenger instead of the champion, she would have fought. White said he will not put her as a headliner in the future.

This weeks MMA nickname battle of the week will take place at UFC Fight Night Glasgow, which will air in the states on Sunday at 3p.m. ET. It pits Paul The Irish Dragon Felder against Stevie Braveheart Ray. The Irish Dragon sounds like something out of a Marvel comic book or a made-up character on Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Felder explained to UFC.com how he got the nickname.

I got the name because I grew up in a tough Irish-Catholic neighborhood in south Philadelphia, and I have done traditional martial arts such as Karate and Taekwondo.

Ray is a Scottish fighter and earned his nickname from his home fans due to his massive displays of courage and will in the cage. Both Ray and Felder get after in the cage, so this one should be an exciting fight.

Morgan Stanley digital chief: AI to help advisers, not ‘cyborg bots’ – Financial Planning

Advisers tasked with processing a mountain of information will get a reprieve through artificial intelligence, according to Morgan Stanley Wealth Managements chief digital officer.

We are bringing in the latest developments in predictive analytics and machine learning not to replace our advisers with some cyborg bot but rather help them be faster and smarter in serving their clients needs, said Naureen Hassan in a speech Wednesday at SourceMedias InVest conference in New York.

Morgan Stanley and its wirehouse competitors are racing to launch digital advice tools, with both UBS and Wells Fargo enlisting SigFig for their robo platforms. Merrill Lynch made its service, Merrill Edge Guided Investing, live this year. Morgan has planned a rollout of its automated investing in 2017 as well.

LEAVING REPORTS TO THE ROBOTS Hassan, who Morgan poached from Charles Schwabs robo last year, described how the firms coming AI tools could cut hours of work for the firms nearly 16,000 advisers. One algorithm under development would help advisers marshal the 55,000 reports produced by the firm each year.

The tool would send an alert to advisers each time the firms research division issues a recommendation on one security or another or publishes a relevant report, Hassan said. The system would tell advisers which clients portfolios may be most affected and draft emails to inform the clients.

What we want to do is, with one click of a button, they can take action on that research report to all their clients within minutes, not hours, not phone calls, Hassan said. Thats the promise of what were trying to build.

The firm will roll out the tool this fall, a spokeswoman for Morgan Stanley said.

Start Slideshow

Automated investing platforms are making it tougher to charge for some financial advice, says Tiburon Strategic Advisors.

ARMS RACE Rival firms have shown theyre headed down a similar path. Like Morgans planned offering, the UBS-SigFig service will save advisers time through automated messaging to clients on important dates, according to Richard Steinmeier, the head of the UBS Wealth Advice Center.

Steinmeier spoke in a panel on large firms response to the disruption posed by robo adviser startups entitled Empires Strike Back. After falling behind early adopters, Merrill Lynch took only 18 months to bring the finished Merrill Edge product online, said Aron Levine, the head of the division overseeing it.

We have a dedicated tech organization, a dedicated digital platform organization all tied to Merrill Edge, which gave us the advantage, Levine said. And we were able to go to market relatively quickly, especially considering the size of the company.

Tech upgrades could shave hours off advisers administrative work. In a time and motion study of a few branches, Morgan Stanley found that advisers teams spent over half the day on administrative tasks like letters of authorization and confirmation calls, Hassan said.

Thats 50% that you could be spending talking about your goals, your children, she said. This is a waste.

The range of new technologies that wirehouses are attempting to deploy is indicative of how much the industry is changing.

"Digital is a far broader opportunity than robo," Hassan said.

Cris Cyborg Justino hasnt had the easiest year, and it looks like another mark has been placed on her somewhat tumultuousUFC career. Justinos previously scheduled co-main event bout with Tonya Evinger has been bumped down to the third fight, according to the official UFC 214 line-up.

I fight for my fans, Justino told FanSided on Wednesday. I dont care if I am the first fight or the last. Im just blessed to be fighting on July 29 and grateful to have the opportunity to show the world I am the best.

Justino almost didnt get her chance at UFC gold when former championGermaine de Randamie refused to fight Justino. Ultimately, de Randamie was stripped of the title after refusing to defend the belt and Justino was booked to face Invicta featherweight champion Megan Anderson. As fate would have it, Anderson was unable to fight due to circumstances that are still not quite clear, and Justino was paired with Invicta bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger instead.

It was previously reported by MMA Fighting that Justino would fight in the co-main slot for UFC 214 Jones vs. Cormier 2, but that was before the UFC announced the addition of a third title fight, this time between Tyron Woodley and Demian Maia.

Justino is undefeated in her two previous UFC showings and has not lost a bout since 2015. Evinger will go up a weight class to meet the former Invicta champion at 145 pounds. Evinger is making her long awaited IFC debut. She has not lost a bout since 2011.

”I see two advantages: I can take hot things without oven mitts and hands do not freeze when it is cold” – Realnoe vremya

The interview with the pilot of bionic prostheses about the present and future of prosthetics in Russia

How soon will scientists create prosthesis identical to human limbs? How noticeable is the lag of the Russian technologies of prosthetics compared to foreign ones? Is it possible in Russia to get a good prosthesis using budget money, not spending millions of rubles? What problems and difficulties does a person who acquire a disability face in Russia? A pilot of bionic prostheses, SMM manager of the company Motorika Konstantin Deblikov, who a few years ago lost his hands during an explosion of pyrotechnics, answered to these and many other questions to Realnoe Vremya.

Konstantin, what do you do now? Has your life changed significantly after the incident in 2014?

I'm working in Motorika company, we produce interesting, unusual prostheses for children and high-tech prostheses for adults. In parallel, I organize competitions of human cyborgs, I try to promote high-tech prosthetics and to change opinion of the society and people with disabilities on the issue of amputation in Russia.

As for changes in my life I wouldn't say that my life turned upside down. I have a musical education and I used to play the guitar, but it is obvious that it is impossible to continue this activity with current prosthetics. However, I did not give up doing music, I began to play drums, electronic music. In other words, the accents have changed a little, but my hobbies remained the same. Now I have a goal in life: I understand what problems people with disabilities have in Russia, and now I have concentrated on how to try to solve these problems.

On your Facebook page you posted a curious video where well-known designer Artemy Lebedev assures you that ''if a tram runs over him and he loses his legs, then he'll just open Yandex and look for information what to do next''. He also said that he ''absolutely will not change in the case of loss of limbs''. His statement caused outrage in the comments. Don't you think that he a bit overestimated his abilities?

No, I don't think so. Moreover, I think that I have not changed a little after the amputation. In some ways, of course, my lifestyle has changed, but what the man is, for what he lives, how he sees and perceives the world it is the basic things. I think if a person is really mature, then no injury, no disability can break him, and it is not necessarily it changes it. So, in that sense, I agree with Artemy. If to speak about change of consciousness, then I think that I did not have it, and Artemy, as a mature man, internally would not change greatly.

Konstantin, I do not want to touch the topic of disadvantages, so I would better to ask you about benefits of prosthesis.

I can name two advantages that I see: I can take hot things without oven mitts and hands do not freeze when it is cold (laughing).

Are prostheses expensive and whether it is possible in Russia to get a good prosthesis for budget money?

It is possible, but most likely, one has to try very hard because nobody will be consumed with desire to give a person a pricey prosthesis if by legislation it is possible to give him something cheaper and of lower quality. But if a person is ''charged'', if he knows the algorithm to act, where to go and where to write a complaint, then this option is possible.

In Moscow, it is easier to obtain an expensive prosthesis than in the regions. Besides, a lot depends on how old you are, under what circumstances you got the injury, whether the prosthesis will return you the ability to live active life, to earn and return in the number of taxpayers in order to offset the cost of the prosthesis. Everything is very individually. Some people manage to get good quality prostheses at the expense of the budget (including foreign expensive prostheses), while others cannot, and, unfortunately, they get outdated traction prostheses.

Now everything is heading in the direction so that in Russia people did not buy foreign prostheses at million rubles the government is investing in domestic developments. The prices of foreign prosthesis are very greatly exaggerated, like of any medical technology or pharmacology. Prices are very different from the cost. Again, I have to mention Motorika, the company now specialises on the creation of high-tech prostheses, which will cost about 350,000 rubles. It's already dramatically reduced prices.

Speaking of Motorika, since you work in a Russian company that creates prosthetics, I want to ask you: how do we lag from foreign technologies of prosthetics?

If to speak about children's prosthetics, now in Russia we do good prosthesis. Previously, in most cases, all that children were offered were some cosmetic things that just cover the injury, hide it under silicone, thereby developing child's complexes plus not giving any functionality. The situation has changed, in particular, thanks to Motorika that makes prostheses that return children functionality of their impaired limbs. So, as for children's prosthetics, now everything is getting better.

As for the high tech prosthetics, we are still lagging behind Europe and the US, but one should understand that their situation was developing differently: in last few decades various companies were actively competing against each other, different engineering teams were created, development of which were constantly compared and improved. As a result, now they have some really good products.

In fact, we are already close to so that in Russia there were qualitative means of rehabilitation, and it would be great if the government also gave attention to the issue and investments, of course.

Let's say such situation happened, I want to communicate with people who are with me ''in the same boat'' so as not to drown completely in the depression and learn useful things. Where do I go?

Absolutely nowhere. Now they have to look for separate people online. Different people write me every day, asking questions. For now, we communicate only this way.

Of course, you can go to a regional unit of the society of the disabled, but, for example, when I went to our Honestly, I ran out of there because there was only depression and just some kind of horror going on. Complete hopelessness.

Maybe you have a desire to improve the situation on you own somehow?

I'm trying to do it, I have plans to create a non-profit organization. I hope that everything will work out and I can bring people together, help young and not very young people who are in a difficult situation. Generally, such movement should come from the disabled people themselves and not from the government. If they are active, then other people will have a disability, it will be much easier because there will be a live community.

What is the situation with the attitude of our society towards people with disabilities? I remember a lot of unpleasant cases, including the situation with Renata Litvinova and Evgeny Smirnov.

It just so happened that for centuries in Rus' and Russia the attitude towards people with disabilities were like to defective, dependent, unhappy people. But in fairness it should be noted that this attitude, of course, has considerably transformed in recent years. Actually, I think that in the basis of this behaviour there is the fear of disability, because that's what we don't want to think about, it is what reminds us of death, it is what causes some negative emotions.

I think the situation will change much more actively, if, in the first place, people with disabilities themselves begin to change the attitude. The more these people are in media, on television, on the Internet, the more active they are, the better it will be for the society that will begin to get used to people with disabilities, and begin to treat them quite normally.

The situation with Litvinova and Posner happened due to the fact that people do not fully understand how to treat people with disabilities. It seems to me, to say to a man with no leg: ''I do not like your dance because you are a bad dancer'' would be extremely tolerant and correc, because it is exactly the same person who can dance well and can dance badly. If you don't like how a disabled person dances, then you can tell him directly, and that's all nothing wrong with that. We should learn how to look at all people equally.

Voices: Will we become cyborg Christians? – Baptist Standard

July 12, 2017 By James Hassell

I spent gobs of time sitting in airports recently. If you can believe it, I made it through a security line at Atlanta Hartsfield within 15 minutes. I think thats a new record for me.

James Hassell

Trying to kill time in an airport can be taxing, so I decided to peruse a noticeably thin copy of The Wall Street Journal. The headlines were what you would expect in just about any newspaper today. Nearly every story had to do with money, sex and/or power.

Then I noticed an incredible, half-page advertisement sponsored by an economic development organization called Enterprise Florida. The headline of the ad read: The Future of Everything: Erasing the Line Between Human and Machine. An especially thought-provoking line from the ad says, The future of the mind, from mental health to cognition, is a fusion of mind and machine.

I hope such an ad would get your theological mind spinning as it did mine. Are we really moving toward a time when the future of business and daily life consists of the fusion between people and machines? And if so, what does this mean for the church?

I dont know about you, but I really have no interest in becoming a cyborg pastor, although the thought is a rather unique one to consider. It seems with all of our technological progress, many still seek eternal life without Jesus Christ. Permanent and perfect transformation comes through Christ and Christ alone.

Lets be reminded of the Apostle Pauls great admonishment to us in Romans 12: Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

It also may be of great interest to know fine ethical minds among Texas Baptists already are considering this nearly front-page contemporary issue. Jeph Holloway, professor at East Texas Baptist University, presented some highly valuable lectures regarding this topic at the annual T.B. Maston Christian Ethics Lectures at Logsdon Seminary. To see the lectures on YouTube, click here.

Please take a few moments to think deeply about the rise of man-machine, for this issue is one that will impact us and our churches significantly in the next decade.

James Hassell is senior pastor of First Baptist Church in San Angelo, Texas.

Cyborgs Among Us – AUGUSTMAN

Amber Case, an American cyborg anthropologist, argued in a 2011 TED Talk that every time you look at a computer screen or use one of your cell phone devices, you are, in fact, being a cyborg.

Based on the traditional definition of a cyborg, shes not wrong. A 1960 paper on space travel defined a cyborg as an organism to which exogenous components have been added for the purpose of adapting to new environments. What is humanitys current environment then? Already, our constant exposure to technological devices and online social platforms puts us a world apart from say, 25 years ago. Navigating this new landscape using exogenous components, which must count our smartphones, laptops and tablets (they are more a part of us now than we may admit), solidifies the standing that we just might be the cyborgs we had read about as children.

While Human 2.0 can already be argued as the average human in a modern city, armed with a smartphone and constantly hooked up to the Internet as the new stream of consciousness, Human 3.0 has already arrived in reality. The new HUMAN+ exhibition at Marina Bay Sands Artscience Museum attempts to shed a little more light on our eventual evolution. Attending the opening weekend of the exhibition was the worlds first officially recognised human cyborg, Neil Harbisson.

The contemporary artist was born with an extreme form of colour blindness that resulted in him seeing only in greyscale. In 2003, he embarked on a project to implant an antenna in his skull that uses audible vibrations to report information to him. Harbisson now hears in colour and paints sounds. In a sense, his antenna (or eye-borg as he calls it) allows him a man-made synaesthesic experience. Harbisson has used his standing as the first cyborg to speak up for the rights of other such humans, who have incorporated technology into their bodies. He founded the Cyborg Foundation alongside fellow artist and collaborator, Moon Ribas (whose online seismic sensor implant lets her feel the vibrations of earthquakes across the world), to represent and fight for the rights of other cyborgs.

It begs the question, of course to what end are humans allowed to upgrade themselves so to speak?

As it stands, many cybernetic implants these days are catered to amputees and the disabled, helping them to live like able-bodied persons on a daily basis aiding them in performing tasks they would otherwise be unable to do. The ethics behind, say, an abled man building an exoskeleton for himself is, however, debatable. For where then does human end and cyborg start? And where does cyborg end and robot start?

As Honor Harger, executive director of ArtScience Museum puts it, Our perception of what it means to be human has been transformed by science and technology. Advances in genetic engineering, biotechnology and nanotechnology that not long ago seemed purely science fiction are now real. Cyborgs, superhumans and clones are alive among us today. What does it mean to be human now? Should we continue to embrace modifications to our minds, bodies and daily lives, or are there boundaries we should never overstep?

With the rapid progress of AI technology and robotics, the gap between human and cyborg is fast diminishing and like any new social norm, should be questioned thoroughly. I, for one, stand on the side of evolution manmade evolution, that is.

HUMAN+ runs at the Artscience Museum till 15 Oct

‘Cyborg assassin freak’ – Times LIVE

Lock Maro Itoje has transformed in New Zealand from the baby of the British and Irish Lions camp into a cult hero whom fans believe can inspire a historic Test series win over the All Blacks.

The second rower goes into the series decider in Auckland with his ears still ringing from the chants of travelling supporters bellowing his name as they urged the Lions to a famous 24-21 victory in Wellington last weekend.

Itoje, 22, seized his chance, notching a game-high 15 tackles to help overcome the world champions.

He also produced a livewire performance that sparked his team-mates and the Lions supporters.

"He was immense from start to finish and the feeling of invincibility a young tyro like the England lock brings to proceedings should not be under-estimated," former Lions coach Clive Woodward declared after the match.

"It wouldn't occur to him for a second that New Zealand were unbeatable."

Perhaps more telling was criticism in New Zealand about Itoje's "cynical" offside infringements as the match hung in the balance.

He conceded two penalties but cost the All Blacks try-scoring opportunities, said local commentators, who have long championed the notion that rugby's best players operate on the edge of the law.

As the youngest player in the tour group, Itoje was given the task of looking after its mascot, a cuddly toy lion named BIL, which he carried around when they were welcomed to New Zealand in late May.

Itoje was not even born the last time the Lions scored a Test victory over the All Blacks in 1993.

Yet the rising star was hardly unknown before the Lions arrived.

He helped Saracens to last year's European Champions Cup and was part of the England team that this year equalled the All Blacks' record of 18 straight Test wins.

"There is a growing suspicion this freak athlete is actually a cyborg assassin sent back from 2029 to alter the All Black monopoly of rugby union," the Irish Times enthused in its pretour analysis.

Now that Itoje has shown what he can do, the hype has reached even greater heights.

Cris Cyborg: Dana White said he made mistakes, maybe we can work together – Bloody Elbow

It has been a tough road for Cris Cyborg heading into the UFC. The establishment of the womens featherweight division was a tug-o-war, and UFC president Dana White himself recently admitted that there were some mistakes committed on their part.

To be honest with you, we made some mistakes when it comes to Cyborg. So, the least we can do is get our sh-t together and get this woman a fight for the title, White said in a recent MMA Junkie interview.

With Whites admission, Cyborg is now led to believe that better things could be coming her way. On Mondays MMA Hour episode, she expressed her optimism in terms of being treated by the company.

"I hope its gonna change. The last interview, Dana White said he did a lot of mistakes with Cyborg, maybe we can work together, Cyborg said (via MMA Fighting). I love my job. If my boss and my company loves working with me, were gonna have a lot of success together.

"I accepted that. Let's see what's gonna happen after that. Let's see if not going to be just words, but if the practice in business is gonna change. We just have to work together. If you want to work together, for sure we can make a lot of money together.

But we need to work together. After this interview, I think he opened the door for getting better."

Cyborg is widely considered as the most dominant female fighter today, and believes that she could have been a big star like Ronda Rousey, if only she was given the same push.

"Imagine now if they used the same machine they used to build Ronda Rousey, imagine if these people did it with me. The same people that watched Gina Carano against Cyborg, the same people watched my last fight. We made the same number, Cyborg said.

"Imagine if they build my like they did to Ronda Rousey, if I fought Holly Holm the same night Ronda Rousey fought Cat Zingano. If Ronda doesn't want to fight me, protect her, thats fine, you build two stars. It would be amazing. Big stars is good for them. More stars, more money for them."

Cyborg finally gets her due title fight at 145 pounds as she faces Tonya Evinger at UFC 214 on July 29th in Anaheim, California.

Cris Cyborg down for Holly Holm title fight with championship win at UFC 214 – MMAmania.com

Cris Cyborg will finally get the opportunity to win Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) gold as she is lined up to face Tonya Evinger for the vacant Featherweight title at the upcoming UFC 214 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Anaheim, Calif., on July 29, 2017 (see how that bout came to be here and here).

And even though she isnt overlooking her late replacement, Cyborg has been met with questions about the possibility of facing former UFC womens Bantamweight champion Holly Holm as a potential first title defense. During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, the fearsome striker answered the question with a profound, Yes.

According to Cyborg, its a fight she has wanted for quite some time:

I had already accepted to fight Holly when Ronda fought Cat Zingano. I accepted to fight her in Curitiba at 140 (pounds). I accepted to fight her in Brasilia for the main event. I asked for her before she fight Bethe Correia, and then when Megan Anderson pulled out, I felt it was good opportunity to fight her. I think a fight with her will be great for all of the fans. Shes already fought at 145 with de Randamie, they say she lost, [but] she won. If this makes opportunity for her to fight with me I dont know. She just won against Bethe Correia and I think she is the biggest name for the next fight and I think she is a great fighter. I think it will be really nice.

Holm recently got back on the winning track following a three-fight skid, knocking out Bethe Correia in the main event of UFC Fight Night 111 a few weeks ago (relive it here). Of course, that fight was contested at 135 pounds, but The Preachers Daughter is open to fighting at 145 pounds if it means she gets another crack at the title after coming up short against Germaine de Randamie at UFC 208 earlier this year.

And since UFCs female Featherweight division doesnt exactly have a full roster just yet, dont be surprised to see Holm back at the big dance possibly against Cyborg -- sooner rather than later.

Even a former UFC champ is too scared to take on Cris Cyborg … – New York Post

Chris Weidman is a former UFC champion and is undoubtedly one of the best mixed martial artists in the world, and yet even he cowers in fear when Cristiane Cyborg Justino gives him the stink eye.

Yeah, she scares me a little bit, Weidman told The MMA Hour before going on to explain his role in one of the most infamous out-of-the-cage fights in UFC history.

The conflict in question went down at the UFCs Athlete Retreat in May when Justino confronted 115-pound strawweight Angela Magana. Magana, who has lost her last four fights, has stayed relevant by talking immense amounts of trash online, and shes had particularly brutal words to say about Justinos looks and steroid abuse. Justino tested positive for an anabolic steroid in 2011 and got flagged by USADA in 2016 but was ultimately granted a retroactive therapeutic exemption for the diuretic she was taking.

Justino, who walks around at nearly 180 pounds, said that things got heated at the retreat before she cold-cocked Magana in the face. A short time later, the cops arrived and Magana decided to press charges against Justino.

Video of the altercation doesnt show the punch itself, but it is clear that Cyborg was the aggressor.

Warning: Graphic language

However, the whole incident might have been averted had Weidman stood up to the hot-headed Justino. According to Weidman, he didnt know about the beef between Magana and Justino before he tried to separate the pair.

I came in like, Cmon, guys, lets calm it down, and as soon (as I did that), Cyborg just stops screaming at Magana, looks at me and says, Dont touch me, Weidman told The MMA Hour.

So I backed up and then within a second, (Cyborg) takes her hand and cracks Magana. Magana did a little shaky-leg thing and right away she got teary-eyed. At least from what I heard, right away she started to say, Im calling the cops.

Magana has defended her honor by saying that she didnt call the police, but Weidman doesnt care about his dignity quite as much.

The best part of it is, Dana White has the video. He showed me at this thing (we did), but I dont know if hes ever going to release it. It is hysterical the way I backtracked. They were busting my balls but I have no shame.

What am I going to do, step in there to Cyborg and say, No, I will touch you and she kicks my ass? What am I gonna do, kick her ass? Either way, Im screwed. What if she knocked me out? I may as well just retire then.

Weidman, who beat Anderson Silva to win the middleweight title in 2013, has lost his past three fights but is looking to get back on track against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Night on Long Island on July 22.

Justino, meanwhile, is finally getting her shot at UFC gold when she takes on Invicta FC bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger for the vacant featherweight title at UFC 214 on July 29.

DC Comics Rebirth Spoilers & Review: Cyborg #14 Teases Fan Fave Returns & The End Of The World With Dark … – Inside Pulse

DC Comics Rebirth Spoilers and Review for Cyborg #14 follows.

It has been a while since I read DC Comics Rebirths Cyborg series. I read the first few months of the series. I was engaged by the opening arcs, but decided that the book did not hold any long-term interest for me. The book then moved from twice monthly to monthly, but I figured since I only had 4 books on my pull list this week that Id Cyborg #14 into the mix to see what Id been missing.

Cyborg #14 ends with Cyborg with a female Cyborg (Anomaly) and a kid Cyborg (Variant) being subdued by

Cyborgs mom from an alternate reality?! Cyborgs dad, a cyborg himself now, who has been the books villain. Im having difficulty following his journey by only picking up this issue, but it seems that he is this Earths Silas Stone.

We learn from alternate reality Cyborgs mom what their Silas Stone did to start an unintended all-out end-of-the-world war of cybernetic creatures that decimated humanity caused by a virus; dark nights of metal (not the upcoming event per se) is ahead for DC Comics Rebirth if this Earths Silas Stones ambitions are not stymied.

There is a cure for that virus though to prevent this Earth from sharing the alternate Earths fate, but that path goes through

the Metal Men.

Will this series become a rumored Cyborg and the Metal Men series

a la Deathstroke and his Dark Teen Titans aka Defiance? Deathstroke #21 is out this week too.

So

A fun, but convoluted story with solid art. 6.5 out of 10.

Miesha Tate on Germaine de Randamie not fighting Cris Cyborg: ‘I don’t think she’s scared’ – Bloody Elbow

Shortly after winning the inaugural women's featherweight title in a controversial decision against Holly Holm at UFC 208, Germaine de Randamie announced that she was thinking of giving up the belt and returning to the bantamweight division.

One of the reasons, de Randamie claimed, was because she was not willing to fight 'known and proven cheater' Cris Cyborg, who tested positive for steroids in 2011 and flagged for a potential USADA violation earlier this year.

Last month, UFC granted de Randamie her wish and officially stripped 'The Iron Lady' of the featherweight title.

"UFC has informed Germaine de Randamie and her management team that she is being removed as the womens featherweight champion due to her unwillingness to fight the No. 1 ranked contender, Cris Cyborg' Justino," the UFC said in a statement. "Subsequently, top contender Justino will face newly signed Invicta FC featherweight champion Megan Anderson for the UFC womens featherweight title in the co-main event of UFC 214: Cormier vs. Jones 2, July 29 in Anaheim, Calif.

"UFC maintains that any champion is expected to accept fights against the top contenders in their respective weight classes in order to maintain the integrity of the sport.

Former UFC women's bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, who retired from the sport last year, can see why de Randamie refused to fight Cyborg, but 'Cupcake' would have no problem stepping in the Octagon to challenge the Brazilian knockout artist.

I mean, what do you really have to lose when you fight someone like Cyborg, of her stature? Tate asked Ariel Helwani on Monday's edition of The MMA Hour (h/t Dave Doyle of MMA Fighting). If you beat Cyborg, youre on another level of respect. And if you lose, its like, well so has everybody. So, my opinion of it is, as a fighter, just from a fighter standpoint I think it would be an awesome thing to be able to fight Cyborg.

Even though de Randamie is not willing to fight Cyborg (real name Cristiane Justino), Tate doesn't believe the Dutch-born fighter is 'scared.'

I do respect and understand what Germaine is saying, Tate said. And I dont think shes scared of Cyborg. Shes a fighter. Shes been kickboxing forever. Shes one of the baddest women on the planet.

[De Randamies] point shes trying to make is, she doesnt believe its fair, Tate later added, and that, I cannot disagree. I dont disagree with what shes saying.

With de Randamie stripped of the 145-pound belt, Cyborg will take on Invicta FC bantamweight champ Tonya Evinger for the vacant featherweight title at UFC 214, the biggest pay-per-view event of the year.

UFC 214, which also features a headlining light heavyweight championship rematch between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones, takes place later this month, July 29, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Tonya Evinger Believes She’s The Tougher Matchup For ‘Cyborg … – FloCombat

Tonya Evinger Believes She's The Tougher Matchup For 'Cyborg' Justino

It's safe to say Tonya Evinger probably deserved a spot on the UFC roster before now.

Evinger has been undefeated for the past six years while also becoming the Invicta FC women's bantamweight champion, and she's currently riding a 10-fight win streak.

She's been vocal in the past about her displeasure that the UFC never seemed to give her a look, but the call finally came over a week ago when she was offered a fight with Cris "Cyborg" Justino at UFC 214 in Anaheim, CA,on July 29with the women's featherweight title on the line after her original opponent, Megan Anderson, was forced off the card due to personal issues.

While several fighters have gone out of their way to avoid a fight with Cyborg in the past, Evinger didn't flinch when the UFC offered her the opportunity.

It also didn't surprise Evinger at all that her path to the UFC would have to go through arguably the best pound-for-pound women's fighter in the history of mixed martial arts.

"It's one of them things where I knew I wasn't going to get the easy route. I knew it," Evinger told FloCombat. "I knew they wouldn't give me the easy route or they would have already signed me. The fact that I knew this would be a really tough fight for me against a top competitor. I just knew this was it.

"I just don't see that there's a lot of challenge out there for her at the time and I do feel like I'm one of the best. She hasn't been defeated in 10 years.I haven't been defeated in seven years so we're kind of like on the same run. We're both feeling good and doing great in the sport. I don't see there being a better matchup for this card and a fight against her. I do feel I'm the best competitor out there."

In a way this turn of events was just par for the course when it comes to Evinger's career in mixed martial arts.

She's scratched and clawed her way into the limelight by always facing the toughest competition that's been placed in front of her while never backing down from any challenge at all. That's why Evinger had no problem moving up to 145 pounds and accepting a fight with Cyborg.

"I don't get nothing handed to me," Evinger said. "I definitely have to work for everything I have, and I'm always down to do that. It makes me feel better about it and it pushes me and I have to do things and overcome things that a lot of fighters don't.

"That's why I'm a champion. That's why I succeeded."

Evinger acceptedthe fight with Cyborg on less than two months' notice, but she was already preparing for another short notice main event that was scheduled for mid-July in Invicta FC.

Ironically, Evinger also replaced Anderson in Invicta FC after she was pulled for the main event to face Cyborg in July.

"I feel like I've been running around picking up the pieces for a toddler," Evinger said about Anderson. "I ran around after [the UFC] pulled her off of Invicta and stepped in. Now I'm running up behind her and picking up the pieces again and stepping up for Cyborg."

Soon after the fight was made official for July 29 in Anaheim, Evinger heard plenty of buzz from fans and media who felt like she would be a tougher matchup for Cyborg than anyone else she's faced in recent years.

Evinger has a wealth of experience under he belt while working her way up the bantamweight ranks over the past few years. Meanwhile, Anderson is still somewhat green by comparison after just transitioning to MMA less than four years ago.

Evinger has nothing against Anderson, but she knows Cyborg is treading much deeper water now than she was previously.

"I definitely am grateful for the opportunity and definitely have respect for Megan and stuff like that, but at the end of the day, she's only been training four years and I think that would shown in this fight," Evinger said. "I think for her it was a payday, and it's the same for me,but I'm out there to fight.

"I'm out there to fight and if I'm a star, I am, if I ain't, I ain't and we've seen that in my career. Invicta put a lot of time and a lot of opportunities in my hand, and I just took them. I think that I've earned this shot."

Cara Delevingne Became a Cyborg for a GQ Cover Photoshoot – TeenVogue.com

Cara Delevingne is British GQ 's August cover star , and their photographer Mariano Vivanco did one of the coolest photoshoots we've ever seen Cara in.

In a metal suit that stretches all the way up to her neck, she looks like she's from the future in the cover photo. Inside the pages, she wears other cyborg-inspired pieces, including a translucent plastic crop top and skirt and bright red thigh-high boots, Yahoo Style reports . In place of her usual shaved head , she's got a platinum blonde bob. The look was inspired by the art of Japanese illustrator Hajime Sorayama and the sci-fi movie Barbarella .

GQ also made a video overlaying her with rainbow colors.

In the interview, she opened up about the anxiety she faces at work despite her badass exterior. "I am a very outwardly free person, even though sometimes I dont feel that way inside," she said. "Inside, I have so many fears. I work in an industry where I care what other people think and Im nervous all the time. If I dont admit that its going on, it comes out in my skin. ... You pretend it doesnt exist, thats when it comes out, whether its heartbreak or something at work." We love how real she is, even while she looks like a sci-fi character.

David Harewood Doesn’t Like Playing Cyborg Superman On Supergirl – We Got This Covered

Without a doubt, the second season ofSupergirlcertainly gave us a lot to remember. Not only did we get to see Kara Zor-El interact with the Arrowverse, but we also finally met her cousin in Superman, played to perfection by Tyler Hoechlin.

As for the constants that have remained for the series, David Harewoods take on Jonn Jonzz/Martian Manhunter has delighted many fans and, to be completely honest, has become my favorite character on the show. Seriously, Harewoods ability to play an absolute badass and to juxtapose that by showing a softer side whenconveying the loneliness that comes with being the Last Son of Mars as well as the affection hes developed for his new family always makes for good television.

What hasnt gone as smoothly, however, is the other role hes taken on, that of Hank Henshaw/Cyborg Superman. For those unfamiliar, Henshaw went missing years ago, and Jonn assumed his identity. This past season it was revealed that Henshaw is not only still alive though, but that hes had some cybernetic enhancements as well.

I could go on about why I havent taken to this character, but Harewood himself echoed my sentiments verbatim when speaking at Supanova in Australia:

I dont like playing Cyborg Superman. Its boring. They didnt really flesh it out, they didnt really write for the character. They just gave me this rather cheap-looking mask and no costume, and said Okay, youre Cyborg Superman. But it didnt really pan out they didnt really go into why he was a cyborg, how he became a cyborg, what his powers were it was just kind of randomly calling him Cyborg Superman.

He sure is right about that. When they first revealed him as Cyborg Superman, I was a bit perplexed because he wasnt wearing the costume, nor did they ever explain his motive for taking on the Superman name. So, unless he gets some stylish new threads in season 3, we expect Harewood to keep on saying things such as this:

I was very excited about it at first, but then I very quickly realized that there wasnt really much to it so, its kind of boring. Whenever Im walking to my trailer and I see that costume, I just switch off. Because I know its going to be a really boring day.

Supergirlreturns for its third season on Monday, October 9 on The CW. Will you be tuning in? Let us know in the usual place!

Miesha Tate sees both sides of Cris Cyborg-Germaine de Randamie controversy – MMA Fighting

Miesha Tate sees both sides of the controversy over the UFC womens featherweight title.

Inaugural 145-pound champ Germaine de Randamie balked at defending her belt against former Strikeforce and Invicta champ Cris Cyborg, so de Randamie was stripped of the belt by the UFC before she ever made her first title defense.

That means the Holland native will sit on the sidelines for the biggest UFC card so far in 2017, UFC 214, where Cyborg will meet Invicta bantamweight champ Tonya Evinger as part of a title-fight triple bill in Anaheim on July 29.

Appearing on Mondays edition of The MMA Hour, Tate, the retired former UFC womens bantamweight champ, says that if it was her call, shed absolutely step in the cage with Cyborg.

I mean, what do you really have to lose when you fight someone like Cyborg, of her stature? Tate asked. If you beat Cyborg, youre on another level of respect. And if you lose, its like, well so has everybody. So, my opinion of it is, as a fighter, just from a fighter standpoint I think it would be an awesome thing to be able to fight Cyborg.

But of course, conversations about Cyborg come with an asterisk. There was the steroids suspension following a December 2011 fight in San Diego, and the most recent controversy, where Cyborg was provisionally suspended before being granted a retroactive exemption for a banned substance. And if de Randamie doesnt want to fight someone with that sort of history, Tate doesnt feel its her place to judge.
