Gray FoxAlso known as

Blond-white, later gray

Special forces soldier, mercenary

Gray Fox, real name Frank Jaeger, was a mercenary and former agent of U.S. Special Forces Unit FOXHOUND. Originally a child soldier, Jaeger was the only operative in FOXHOUND to achieve the codename "Fox," the unit's highest commendation, and was decorated five times.[5]

Fox was Solid Snake's comrade-in-arms and friend during the Outer Heaven Uprising, but his loyalty to renegade commander Big Boss forced him into combat with Snake during the Zanzibar Land Disturbance. He survived his injuries following an intense battle, after which he was forcibly outfitted with a powered exoskeleton and subjected to intensive gene therapy. Fox later confronted Snake as a neutral force during the Shadow Moses Incident, in the guise of the Cyborg Ninja, before dying at the hands of Liquid Snake and Metal Gear REX.

Frank Jaeger spent his early years fighting as a child soldier.[6]

Frank Jaeger as a child soldier.

As a child soldier, Jaeger fought with FRELIMO guerrillas in the Mozambican War of Independence. Known for his cruel war tactics, he would trick enemies into letting their guard down by acting with "the frankness of a young boy," before killing them with "the ruthlessness of a hunter."[7] This earned him the title "Frank Hunter" from his enemies, which evolved into "Frank Jaeger," as a nod to thelittle German that he spoke.[7] Throughout the war, Jaeger killed dozens of government soldiers from the Portuguese regime.[7] In 1966, renowned mercenary Big Boss became acquainted with Jaeger in Mozambique after stopping him in battle, and placed the young boy into a rehabilitation facility, believing that he would be safe.

While at the rehab center, Jaeger was taken by the CIA and used as a test subject in the "Perfect Soldier Project." The project turned the boy into a more efficient soldier, capable of killing his targets without remorse, however, it was at a cost. When he was not fighting, he was kept in a fluid-filled sensory deprivation tank which would reset his memories, and suppress his emotions. This intense treatment also enhanced his senses and reflexes allowing him to deflect bullets and become incredibly agile. Because Jaeger was the only surviving test subject of the project, he was deemed a lost number and was given the codename of "Null."[8]

Frank Jaeger as Null, circa 1970.

As a teenager, Null, a.k.a. the Perfect Soldier, operated as a member of the FOX unit during the San Hieronymo Incident, under the leadership of Gene. His unique Sneaking Suit color during this time was red. He helped the unit to capture Big Boss, and confronted him in battle during the operation, but was unable to defeat him, their fight ending in a stalemate. However, his fight with Big Boss nonetheless lasted long enough for Cunningham and a squad of FOX agents to arrive and capture Big Boss. Null was forced to let Big Boss live due to Cunningham's insistence that he stand down, though he did so with extreme reluctance.

Despite being laid back into his culture tank, Null's memories of the battle with Big Boss couldn't be erased. He first escaped from the tank shortly after Gene's telephone conversation with Ocelot, killing several FOX agents before finally being subdued by Gene, via throwing knives to the hands and knees, and telekinesis. Driven by a need to kill Big Boss, Null broke free of his chamber a second time and after slaughtering many Soviet soldiers, he confronted Big Boss again at the subpower station. Revealing that his mind was "littered with corpses," and having an almost fatalistic and nihilistic view on life, he asked Big Boss, "Why won't you die? What do you hope to accomplish by living?," before attacking. It was only after this second battle that Big Boss realized who Null really was. Big Boss defeated Null again and convinced him to seek help somewhere outside of the FOX unit.

Afterwards, Jaeger was sent to a hospital, and while he did ultimately survive the events of the San Hieronymo Incident, he was severely wounded both physically and mentally. The doctors and Roy Campbell were also unsure if, after his eventual release from the hospital, he would ever live a normal life after that. Jaeger's battle data as Null was later recovered by Zero, who then revealed this to Ocelot and requested his assistance in a project.

Frank Jaeger

In 1979, during the Rhodesian Civil War,[9] Jaeger was responsible for killing the parents of a young girl, who would later take the name Naomi Hunter.[10] Feeling immense guilt upon discovering the near-starved child by the Zambezi River, he gave Naomi his rations and chose to adopt her, caring for her as a younger sister.[11] Military analyst Nastasha Romanenko would later speculate that these actions were the result of post-traumatic stress resulting from Fox's childhood experiences in war.[6] His killing of her parents, and his guilt for the action, would continue to haunt Jaeger for the rest of his life, although he kept the true reason for the loss of her parents a secret from Naomi.[10]

At some point, Jaeger participated in the Mozambican Civil War as a soldier for the RENAMO, but would later endure severe torture in which his nose and ears were cut off. He was ultimately rescued by Big Boss.[12]

It was while in Mozambique during the 1980s that Jaeger's sister Naomi met Big Boss, who would later take them both to the United States. Jaeger and Big Boss eventually returned to Africa to continue the war, leaving Naomi behind in America.[13]

While living under the alias of "Frank Hunter," during the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary, Jaeger became romantically involved with Czech figure skating champion Gustava Heffner. The two tried to elope together, but Western authorities rejected her bid for asylum and she was sent back to her country, where she was stripped of her competition rights. Following this incident, Jaeger developed a great deal of resentment for Cold War politics.[5]

Circa the early 1990s, Jaeger served in the U.S. Special Forces Unit FOXHOUND, with Big Boss himself being reinstated as its commander. Jaeger was the only member to receive the unit's highest commendation, being awarded with the codename "Fox."[14] Having been decorated five times, Fox was considered an unofficial leader in FOXHOUND due to his extraordinary soldiering skills and his keen intellect,[15] and was held in high regard among the members of FOXHOUND.[5] During this time, Fox's real name was classified under National Security.[3]

Gray Fox in 1995.

In 1995, Gray Fox was the FOXHOUND agent assigned to Operation Intrude N312. Fox's objective was to gather data on a top-secret nuclear weapon that the fortified state of Outer Heaven was secretly developing. After successfully infiltrating Outer Heaven, Gray Fox scouted the first building of the fortress, noting the locations of the inner courtyard, cameras and elevators, along with various weapons and equipment, such as card keys and Beretta handguns. Sometime afterwards, he stumbled upon information relating to the new weapon being developed.[15] However, the mission ended in failure when Fox was captured, though not before relaying the details of his reconnaissance back to FOXHOUND. His final words before his transmission was cut were simply: "Metal Gear..."[15]

In the follow-up mission, known as Operation Intrude N313,[16] Fox was rescued by rookie FOXHOUND member Solid Snake. Fox provided Snake with all the known facts about Metal Gear; a nuclear-equipped walking battle tank.[17] With Fox's information, Snake located and rescued Metal Gear's creator, and ultimately destroyed the TX-55 prototype that was under development in Outer Heaven. Following Outer Heaven's fall, and the revelation of its leader's identity as Big Boss, all trace of Fox was lost, and it appeared he followed after his commander.[3]

After deserting FOXHOUND, Fox accompanied Big Boss to ZanzibarLand in Central Asia. He assisted in the formation of Zanzibar Land through his participation in the Mercenary War and became Big Boss' most trusted lieutenant. After their success in the war, Fox was given his own command among Zanzibar Land's military.[3]

In 1999,the newly-developed Metal Gear Dwas usedto cross Zanzibar Land's borders and conduct raids against several nuclear disposal sites. This act, along with Zanzibar Land's kidnapping of Czech biologist Dr. Kio Marv, led to retaliation from FOXHOUND, then under the command of Colonel Roy Campbell. Solid Snake was pulled from retirement and sent to rescue Dr. Marv, with assistance from the CIA. Fox, conflicted over Big Boss's plans to bring about a new age of global conflict, became a secret informant to his old comrade Snake, justifying it as payback for his selfish desire for battle.[18] During the course of Snake's mission, Fox began transmitting anonymous messages to him, claiming to be his "number one fan," in order to help him overcome certain obstacles and traps.

Fox finally met Snake in person at the Bridge of Sorrow, which he destroyed with Metal Gear, before warning Snake to turn back and leave Zanzibar Land.[19][20] This action caused the death of his former lover, Gustava, who had been serving the STB and assisting Snake in the search for Dr. Marv.[21] Fox later contacted Snake when the latter's elevator in the Tower Building was immobilized. Because Snake ignored his earlier threat, Fox informed him that the two's friendship was now over. Fox taunted Snake about an impending assault by an assassination squad, the Four Horsemen, but remarking that he would "put up a good fight."[22] Fox's words proved true when the squad failed to eliminate Snake, and though his progress was delayed, Snake reached the detention facility where Dr. Marv was held. Assuming his "fan" alias again, Fox then alerted Snake to Night Fright's presence on the 3rd floor basement, later contacting him again to provide the location of a card key, which Snake required to progress further.[23][24]

Gray Fox shortly after his battle with Solid Snake.

After Snake obtained critical data left behind by a deceased Dr. Marv, Fox activated a pit trap beneath him before he could escape the detention facility. Forcing Snake into an underground facility, Fox, again piloting Metal Gear D, challenged him to a fight, dismissing Dr. Madnar's claims as to its weaknesses.[25][26] Following Madnar's advice, Snake attacked the bipedal tank's feet with frag grenades where its armor was thinnest, and successfully crippled the machine. Fox survived the resulting explosion and was able to steal the cartridge containing Dr. Marv's OILIX data from Snake.[27] With his opponent having discarded his equipment after having caught on fire,[28] Fox beckoned Snake to fight him unarmed in a room laid with land mines.[29] A fist-to-fist duel then ensued, involving no hatred or murderous intent between the two professionals, with Fox ultimately falling to Snake's repeated blows.[14] Exhausted, and bleeding from wounds to his head,[30] he told Snake that he had supported Big Boss, not because he felt indebted to the man for saving his life in the past, but because he could only find his purpose in battle, despite professing a hatred for war itself. Fox admitted to providing anonymous tips by radio, with Snake assuring the fallen soldier that Gustava would be waiting for him, for which Fox expressed thanks. Snake then left to confront Big Boss, leaving a presumed dead Fox behind.[18]

Gray Fox as the Cyborg Ninja.

After the defeat of Big Boss and the downfall of Zanzibar Land, Gray Fox's body, blown apart by a land mine,[31] was secretly recovered by the Patriots.[32][33] Restored through cybernetic surgery, Fox became a guinea pig for FOXHOUND's chief medic Dr. Clark and her gene therapy experiments.[32] A powered exoskeleton was grafted directly onto his body by inserting a cybernetic module at the skeletal level, granting Fox enhanced strength and agility.[34] Gene therapy was used to help overcome stress concentration and rejection responses.[34]

Subjected to drugs for four years as Dr. Clark and her team continued their research, Fox's responses to gene therapy would ultimately provide research data for the creation of the Genome Soldiers,[32] while nanomachine technology used to suppress his emotions would later be incorporated into the Sons of the Patriots system.[35]Although the experiments Fox was subjected to were classified, rumors nonetheless circulated about cyborg development occurring.[36]

In 2000,[9] Fox's adopted sister Naomi Hunter joined FOXHOUND as Dr. Clark's assistant. She helped Fox to escape his containment in 2003,[9] and summarily covered up his actions when he later killed Dr. Clark, reporting it as a laboratory accident.[37] Fox had actually been used to kill Clark by Big Mama, who had previously recruited Naomi into her organization, as part of a power struggle between opposing factions of the Patriots.[33] Naomi then falsely reported Fox's death during the supposed accident, and helped him hide out. However, the entire ordeal had left Fox's mind unstable, causing a rapid deterioration of identity.

With the desire to face Solid Snake once more in combat persisting within his tattered consciousness, Fox set out to confront him during the Shadow Moses Incident in 2005. Equipped with full-body optic camouflage, the Ninja infiltrated Shadow Moses Island in search of Snake, who was on a mission to neutralize a then-renegade FOXHOUND Unit, led by Liquid Snake. The self-titled Sons of Big Boss became aware of the Ninja's presence on the island after he killed three of their number, resulting in heightened security on the occupied base.[38]

The Ninja first encountered Snake in the base's armory, after releasing ArmsTech President Kenneth Baker from captivity and attacking FOXHOUND member Revolver Ocelot, severing the latter's right hand with his high frequency blade. However, he was forced to retreat after the onset of extremely painful spasms, accompanied by electrical discharges from his body.

This was a side effect of imperfect nerve connections resulting from Dr. Clark's experiments.[39]

The Ninja would later help Snake in his mission by transmitting anonymous messages regarding dangers to Snake, much like he did during Operation Intrude F014, under the alias Deepthroat. This included warning him of hidden Claymore mines north of the tank hangar, and electrified flooring in the nuclear warhead storage building. After taking out a squad of NBC warfare troops ahead of Snake, one of who believed Fox to be a ghost,[40] the Ninja accessed the laboratory of Dr. Hal Emmerich and proceeded to menace the terrified engineer, demanding to know where Snake was. He was confronted by his target shortly thereafter, and told Snake that he was "neither enemy nor friend." The Ninja's bizarre appearance and conduct caused Emmerich to comment that the entire scene was akin to an anime, before hiding in a locker. The Ninja challenged Snake to a battle, feeling that his soul could only find respite in a fight to the death, indifferent as to the outcome. His superhuman reflexes and swordsmanship rendered Snake's gunfire ineffective, only sheathing his sword after Snake engaged him in hand-to-hand combat. At first, Snake did not recognize his opponent, but as the duel progressed Snake began to realize that the Ninja was Gray Fox, and was shocked that he could still be alive. After a time, Snake began to prevail in the battle but before its ultimate conclusion was reached, Fox suffered another painful outburst, and fled the lab. Fox's overall presence, as well as his killing twelve soldiers by the time Snake was captured, caused Liquid and Ocelot to speculate that Fox's presence was due to a spy in their midst.[41]

Gray Fox shows his face.

Gray Fox later joined forces with Snake against Metal Gear REX, and managed to damage the mech by attacking it's radome with his laser gun arm,[42][43] interfering with the sealed cockpit's sensory input. He also let slip that he was Deepthroat to Snake, and also noted the latter hadn't aged well.[44] While its pilot, Liquid Snake, attempted to locate the two, Fox took the momentary break in fighting to reveal to Snake his role in the deaths of Naomi Hunter's parents, and begged him to tell her the truth. Following this exchange, Fox leapt from their hiding spot and again attacked REX. During this second assault, Fox was injured when his left arm was sliced off by the tank's own laser cannon. He was then pinned against a wall by REX's cockpit beak, but was able to destroy the radome while immobilized, declaring that "a cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal!" in response to Liquid's taunts. Fox was released as REX moved back a short distance, the now-blinded Liquid being forced to open the cockpit, exposing its interior to Snake's Stinger missiles. Fox ordered Snake to fire on the cockpit, but its close proximity to him made Snake reluctant to do so, unwilling to kill his friend in the process. As Snake hesitated, Fox told him that after being taken from Zanzibar Land, he had neither been truly alive nor truly dead, and that he could finally meet his end with Snake to witness it. As Fox fell to the floor, Liquid tried to kill the Ninja once and for all by crushing him under one of Metal Gear's massive feet, but Fox's exoskeleton meant that this first attempt failed. With REX's second stomp, however, the only man considered worthy of the codename "Fox" was no more. His last words were directed towards Snake:

After escaping the Shadow Moses facility, Snake contacted Naomi, informing her that Fox's last message was to forget about him and move on with her own life, and that he would always love her. Snake decided not to tell her that Fox had killed her parents because he was the only family Naomi had ever known.

A photo of Frank Jaeger in Naomi's locket.

During the Big Shell Incident in 2009, Solid Snake referenced Gray Fox's last words to Raiden when explaining why he was motivated to carry out anti-Metal Gear activities. In addition, the Patriots' recreation of Shadow Moses for the S3 Plan had Olga Gurlukovich assume the role of the Cyborg Ninja, causing Raiden to think that Fox may have survived, although Snake and several others knew otherwise.

By 2014, the gene therapy and nanomachine research conducted on Frank Jaeger was utilized in the creation of the SOP system.[45] During this time, Naomi carried a picture of her brother within her locket.

During his time as the Perfect Soldier Null, his frequent readjustments following each mission deprived him of both his memories and emotions, his only dreams being of waking up to the corpses of his victims lying in front of him, and waiting in vain for his comrades to rescue him. He harbored fatalistic, borderline nihilistic views on life, feeling that it wouldn't truly matter if he spared someone or not as they would die eventually anyway. This belief, as well as his conditioning as the Perfect Soldier, resulted in him developing an intense animosity towards Big Boss after being unable to kill him in battle, and questioning his reasons for living.[46] This aspect eventually resulted in Jaeger renouncing his Null identity altogether when he was defeated by Big Boss.

Gray Fox as the Cyborg Ninja.

Gustava Heffner described Jaeger as handsome, well-mannered and intelligent, but always possessed by a level of fear.[47] His cold-blooded nature and extreme tenacity earned him the respect of Solid Snake and others in FOXHOUND, with Snake once considering him better than any other soldier he'd fought with.[5]

Jaeger was fearful around his adopted sister, Naomi, due to the immense guilt that he felt after killing her birth parents. He was reminded of their deaths every time he looked into Naomi eyes.[10]

Fox would become devoted to Big Boss's cause, serving him at the expense of becoming militarily opposed to his friends such as Solid Snake.

Because of his past as a child soldier, Fox's need for the battlefield resonated with Big Boss's vision, despite his own hatred for war itself.[18] Unable to live a peaceful life, it was this helplessness that ultimately led him to side with Big Boss, both feeling that soldiers such as themselves could only find purpose outside of normal society, due to their innate fighting instincts.

After his defeat in Zanzibar Land, Fox developed a yearning for death following his transformation into the Cyborg Ninja, wanting to have one last fight with Solid Snake so he die by the latter's hand. He believed he had been fated to die in Zanzibar Land and so his spirit was broken after his resuscitation by Dr. Clark. After re-encountering Fox the second time, Snake also speculated that the former couldn't remember anything about his past besides their fight in Zanzibar Land.[48] Ultimately, he died aiding Snake in his mission to stop Liquid, achieving the peace he had long sought.

Fox is the most recurring boss character in the series, being fought in a total of five boss fights throughout the games (Vamp, Liquid Snake, and Revolver Ocelot are each fought four times, respectively, throughout the series).

Gray Fox (, Gurei Fokkusu?) first appears in the original Metal Gear (spelled "Grey Fox" in the MSX2 version). The player's initial objective is to rescue him and obtain intel on Metal Gear from him. Fox's sprite in the MSX2 version was a recolor of the regular prisoner of war sprite (wearing a blue jumpsuit instead of a brown one), or in the case of the NES version, the same as the prisoner of war sprite (as the game's characters were monochrome). In addition, Fox's role is very minor, as he only gives Snake the details of the TX-55 Metal Gear and suggests that he find Dr. Madnar before disappearing altogether. Future installments added some more detail to the meeting, revealing that Fox also showed a green Snake "the ropes."

Fox returns in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, where he confronts Snake as an enemy on several occasions, while secretly assisting him as an anonymous informant. Fox's past is fleshed out in this game and his civilian identity is revealed to be Frank Jaeger (, Furanku Ig?) ("Frank Yeager" in the MSX2 version).

Fox's portrait was modeled after actor Tom Berenger. In the re-released versions, he was redesigned to resemble his later depiction in Metal Gear Solid. Portions of Fox's character, namely his first name of Frank, as well as his attempting to elope with a Czech figure skater, were influenced by the novel Crossfire.

It is stated in Metal Gear 2, and again in Metal Gear Solid, that the hand-to-hand battle between Snake and Fox takes place on a minefield. However, while mines are present during the battle, Fox is able to move around freely and can only be defeated by the player. Also, while Fox does "explode" after his defeatand "final conversation" with Snake, this is the case for nearly all the bosses in the game, except Dr. Madnar.

In Metal Gear 2, Fox claims that he was a half-white living in Vietnam, sent to a forced labor camp after the war (19551975), where he was rescued by Big Boss.[49] In addition, the Metal Gear Solid: Official Mission Handbook states that he was born in the 1970s to unknown parents, and was of Vietnamese and German-American descent.[50] However, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops later contradicts the Handbook's account with his appearance in 1970, though he retains a German-speaking background. The issue is further confused by Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which reveals that Big Boss was in a coma before the Vietnam War ended, and did not recover until 1984.

Fox's activities in Mozambique, as stated in Metal Gear 2 and referenced in Metal Gear Solid,[51] share many similarities to those later mentioned in Portable Ops, but are actually two different conflicts, namely the Civil War (19641974) and the War of Independence (19771992), respectively. While only the Portable Ops account is mentioned in the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database,[31] Fox's participation in both wars is entirely plausible.

With these various additions and subtractions to the character's backstory across various games, Fox's recollections in Metal Gear 2, regarding the exact number of prior interactions with Big Boss, is somewhat unreliable.[49] Nevertheless, the narrative themes concerned with his victimization as a child soldier and his relationship with Big Boss remains intact.

In the English versions, Gray Fox was voiced by Greg Eagles (credited as George Byrd) in Metal Gear Solid, Rob Paulsen in The Twin Snakes, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Metal Gear Solid 4 and Larc Spies in Portable Ops. In Japanese versions, he was voiced by Kaneto Shiozawa in Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 4, Takumi Yamazaki (the same man who voiced Ocelot in Metal Gear Solid 3) in Metal Gear Solid: Bande Dessine and Jun Fukuyama in Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. In the Japanese versions of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Metal Gear Solid 4, Fox utilized the vocal archives of Shiozawa due to his death in 2000.

Gray Fox, in the E3 1997 trailer for Metal Gear Solid.

Fox's Cyborg Ninja design was created by series artist Yoji Shinkawa. The design did not exist in the original concept for Metal Gear Solid, but director Hideo Kojima liked it so much, he decided to incorporate it into the storyline,[52] based on a sketch by "Shin-chan" that he found.[53] When Fox's face is unmasked in the latter stages of the game, the pupil of one of his eyes is shown to be white.

The codename "Deepthroat," which Fox used when contacting Snake by Codec to offer him advice, was also the name of the FBI agent who exposed U.S. President Richard Nixon's involvement in the Watergate scandal. FBI agent William Mark Felt was the real Deepthroat, and he revealed himself to the public in May 2005.

In IDW's Metal Gear Solid: Official Comic Book, it is hinted that Fox was sent by the Patriots to find and kill Solid Snake, in order to facilitate the job of assassinating him themselves.

Shortly after being defeated by Snake, Fox, while screaming in agony, yells "The...the mediciiiiiine!" Although in-universe, this refers to how he was kept drugged for several months while Dr. Clark experimented on him, the dialogue itself is a reference to a scene to the anime movie Akira, where Tetsuo demands for a stabilizer due to his unstable psychokinetic abilities beginning to mutate his arm.[54]

The Ninja's role in The Twin Snakes remake was similar to the original game, but was slightly extended due to directorial decisions. Specifically, a new action-packed cutscene shows his slaughter of the Genome Soldiers guarding Dr. Emmerich's lab, with Snake briefly witnessing this (in the original game, the attack is heard off-screen, with Snake deducing the Ninja's involvement upon discovering the body-strewn hallway).

Portable Ops, a prequel set two decades before the events of the first Metal Gear, features a teenage Fox as a masked machete-wielding soldier named Null (, Nuru?). The revelation of his identity in Portable Ops is similar to that in Metal Gear Solid; in both cases, his identity is unknown until he is engaged in battle and defeated by the player.

In the novelization of Metal Gear Solid, Fox's death was portrayed in a slightly different manner than in both the original game and the remake. Namely, Fox managed to destroy Metal Gear REX's radome at exactly the same time that the mech stepped on him, thus failing to crush him to death in that instant. However, he was still gravely wounded from the attack, and as a result, he died shortly afterwards. The remake, The Twin Snakes, was also slightly different in doing Fox's death, as it only utilized one stomp attack to kill him, with it gradually delivering an increasing amount of pressure on Fox until his exoskeleton caved. REX then wiped its foot on the floor.

In the novelization, the gun that Fox used against REX was specified to be a portable Vulcan cannon,[55] while in Shinkawa's character design sheets and product details for the Cyborg Ninja Play Arts Kai action figure, it is simply referred to as a "Laser Gun Arm."[42][43]

Although Gray Fox himself does not appear in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, due to it taking place after his death, he is mentioned a few times in the game. Likewise, in Substance, Raiden can wear a Cyborg Ninja outfit bearing multiple similarities to Gray Fox's exoskeleton in the VR missions.

Gray Fox is referenced several times in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. In addition, during the battle with the Suicide Gekkos in Metal Gear REX's hangar, if the player aims the rail gun at Raiden and Vamp, Snake will verbally say "I can't do it!", referencing a similar situation in Metal Gear Solid where the player could aim the Stinger at REX, but Snake is unable to fire due to it carrying the risk of killing Gray Fox (who by that point was pinned to the wall by REX) from the resulting blast.

Fox, as an Assist Trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Gray Fox appears as an Assist Trophy who leaps around the arena and attacks opponents with rapid sword-slashes. He also deflects any projectiles fired at him. He also has the ability to reappear from the top of the screen if he falls off the stage. If one of the players is in control of Solid Snake and the Gray Fox assist trophy is activated, the two characters will exchange in dialogue from Metal Gear Solid. An unlockable trophy of Gray Fox exists within the game, with the following text:

Besides his appearance as both a regular and an assist trophy, Gray Fox also appeared as a sticker in the same game. Characters who wore the sticker will increase flinch resistance by 98.

He was also indirectly mentioned twice, both by Solid Snake during Codec calls: When calling Roy Campbell about Fox McCloud, Snake will comment that he's "getting sick of Foxes", alluding to both FOXHOUND's going renegade as well as Gray Fox becoming his enemy in Metal Gear 2. Snake also mentions he empathizes with Marth about getting betrayed by close ones in a Codec conversation with Mei Ling on Marth, alluding to Gray Fox betraying Snake in the same game alongside other characters in other games and betrayal being a repeated theme of the franchise.

ScrewAttack ranked Gray Fox #2 in their Top Ten Ninjas list.

A character in the game Vanquish was named Gray Fox. Coincidentally, the game's developer, Platinum Games, would later create Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Play Arts Kai has released action figures of Gray Fox in his Cyborg Ninja form, which had three models: One was the regular variant used in the game, one was based on the bonus-colored variant, and the last one was primarily gray. The bonus-colored variant was recently released at the San Diego Comic Con as an exclusive item, alongside four Metal Gear Solid-themed iPhone cases and a 25th Anniversary T-shirt.[56]

He also appeared in Vs. Battle, where he challenged Raiden. Earlier, his skin from Metal Gear Rising had challenged Solidus Snake. In addition, his "Fight to the Death" dialogue with Snake also competed with Sniper Wolf's Love Letter dialogue in the same contest.

The Gray Fox DLC skin featured in Metal Gear Rising.

Gray Fox is a downloadable costume for Raiden in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. The first HD screenshot of the costume was published on January 10, 2013 at 2:50 pm by the Metal Gear Rising Facebook page as a reward for getting 200,000 likes to Metal Gear Rising.[57] The overall design for the Gray Fox skin is based on the Play Arts Kai figure for Gray Fox's normal appearance. A pre-order also came with the Gray Fox skin, as well as a special weapon called the Fox Blade, based on the weapon Gray Fox used in Shadow Moses. The English Gray Fox trailer also revealed that the Fox Blade was upgradable, and that its limits were "epic." With it, the player is only required to cut once while in blade mode to get cyborg organs to recharge. In the Japanese DLC skin trailer, when showcasing the Gray Fox skin trailer, it showed Raiden's Gray Fox skin slaughtering several cyborg ninja soldiers, a reference to a scene in Metal Gear Solid where he first appeared as a Cyborg Ninja. The descriptions for both equipment indicate that the Gray Fox skin was actually a copy of the exoskeleton Gray Fox wore in Shadow Moses, and that the FOX Blade was not only the same weapon, it was also infused with Gray Fox's soul. Despite the latter description, it does not share any of Gray Fox's voice actors, unlike the Snake's Soul Wooden Blade.

Besides the DLC, Gray Fox was indirectly alluded to in an optional Codec conversation with Maverick member Courtney Collins, regarding the advancements in cyborg technology, establishing the cause of his painful spasms in Metal Gear Solid as being from faulty nerve connections to his exoskeleton.[39]

On January 17, 2013, Kojima told IGN that it was the development staff's decision to use Raiden as the main character of Metal Gear Rising. He admitted that if it were up to him, he would have used Gray Fox instead. He also admitted that had Fox been used, he would have ended up writing and directing the game.[58] Kojima later made a proposal to PlatinumGames about making a sequel where Fox starred as the main character and fought nanomachine-powered zombies. They politely declined.[59]

A Gray Fox skin is unlockable in Ground Zeroes, using graphics from the PlayStation version of Metal Gear Solid, although it is noticeable that he has Solid Snake's polygonal face and bandana. The specific methods of unlocking the skin involves not only beating the Dj Vu mission on Hard, but also answering the questionaire with 100% accuracy on the same difficulty.[60] Miller when conducting the quiz during either first time playthroughs of the hard difficulty or otherwise redoing the quiz due to failing earlier will also allude to this skin by stating that he has a special bonus thrown in if the player answers all questions correctly,[61] as well as stating upon doing so that he'll give the bonus later.[62] If the player does a dash, he will move at a superhuman speed and have lightning emit from his legs, similar to Raiden in Jamais Vu, and was also potent enough to kill Ravens and mice via contact.

Aside from the game itself, Gray Fox (identified as Cyborg Ninja) is also an unlockable officer character in the Mother Base Developer on the Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Companion App. He is unlockable by achieving 85k points in Deja Vu's hard mode.

Gray Fox acts as a skin for Venom Snake, alongside Raiden. Running into enemies will knock them down, stunning them long enough for the player to CQC them by the time they get up. The skin can be unlocked for development by getting the Master Certificate (Standard), which is accomplished by completing all regular missions.

Gray Fox helmet.

Pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe Pack in the Japanese version of Metal Gear Survive will have the player acquire a helmet modeled after Gray Fox's helmet, and will itself feature retractability. In addition, Gray Fox, or rather, his real name of Frank Jaegar, was given an indirect allusion with the Jaegar subclass during the post-game.

In Metal Gear Solid and The Twin Snakes, if the player neither manages, nor attempts, to escape the torture room's holding cell after Ocelot'sfive torture sessions, Gray Fox will appear and open the door for Snake before disappearing. If player doesn't get rid of the timer bomb, he calls Snake when timer has 60 seconds left. Also, upon completing the game twice, Gray Fox's Cyborg Ninja outfit will be changed from blue and brown to red and blue, resembling Spider-Man and Deadpool from Marvel Comics.

If the player uses chaff grenades to attack Gray Fox during the fist fight, he will be stunned, but then tells off Solid Snake for his cheap method of attacking, citing that this was not how Snake usually fights, and resorts to attacking Snake with his sword as a result.

When fighting Null at the power substation, several of his quotes sound a lot more agitated compared to when he said them during the fight at the silo entrance. To unlock Null, simply defeat him both times and begin a second playthrough after beating the game.

In battle, Null uses a Machete for fighting at close quarters and deflecting bullets and uses M10 otherwise. Upon recruitment Null comes with a Machete as a unique weapon with an attack pattern similar to that of the unequipped punch punch kick attack pattern, and the third swipe is always lethal towards non-boss or regular opponents.

Null uses his machete in the left hand while battling him or while playing as him, but in cutscences Null use his machete in the right hand.

During both his boss fights, he says his taunts in a slightly differing tone for each battle. In the Silo Entrance, he says them in a robotic monotone. In the Power Substation, however, he has a noticeable increase of agitation in his tone.

During Act 4, when the player arrives at the Supply Port where REX's remains are, taking a picture of REX's left leg will unveil a ghost of Gray Fox while he was a Cyborg Ninja. His calling Snake to warn him about the claymore mines and tank in the canyon area was also an unlockable audio flashback.

In addition, one of his lines during the fight in Metal Gear Solid, "Hurt me more!", was also the name of a trophy in the game's trophy patch, unlocked when the player uses the Metal Gear Mk. II/Mk. III to electrocute an enemy soldier.

Justice League’s Deleted Scenes Include Cyborg Flashback

With an unusually conservative runtime of just under two hours,Justice Leaguehad to cut a number of scenes including a flashback to Cyborgs old life. While audiences are quite familiar with the DCEUs take on Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman,Justice League was able to focus a bit more on the genesis of its other heroes. When it comes to The Flash and Aquaman, most fansof pop culture understand the basics. Still, the film needed to fill in some of their backstory and introduce the updated take on the Leaguers. Cyborg, meanwhile, needed even more of a spotlight.

While fans of theTeen Titans animated series will get the gist of Cyborg, the film version is much more closer to the somber hero from the New 52 run in the comics. There, Victor Stone nearly dies in his fathers S.T.A.R. Labs accident and ends up bonding with the alien Mother Box the elder Stone was studying. The result sees the birth of Cyborg andJustice League hints that all of these events occurred. As a result, he has quite a contentious relationship with his father. What we dont see, however, is Victor before his evolution.

GameSpotspoke with the cast ofJustice League about the various scenes that were cut from the film, and it turns out a look at Cyborgs past had to be removed. Word is that Warner Bros. wantedJustice League under two hours, and that short runtime for a superhero team-up left plenty on the cutting room floor. As Cyborg actor Ray Fisher explains, one moment in particular carried some emotional weight for his character.

There were some things that youll probably end up seeing later on, that didnt make it into this version of the film.Theres a scene with Victor Stone, when he still was Victor Stone, and his mother, that was really special to shoot.

As Fisher alludes, the proposedCyborg film set to arrive in 2020 will be a chance to further explore the new and old versions of Victor Stone. Given his everyman status, Vic would provide the DCEU with a more grounded story albeit one with a superhero whos augmented by alien tech.

ThoughJustice League may have been light on Cyborg backstory, it did offer some teases of the characters complex dynamic with his father. And as Fisher explains, the evolution of their relationship is far from over.

What is great about this film going forward is youll be able to see him rebuild himself mentally the same way that his father rebuilt him physically. And its a process thats going to take time.

From all the trailers and TV spots forJustice League, its clear plenty of material didnt make it into the final cut of the film. Whether a result of Joss Whedons reshoots or the studio mandate to keep things short, we may never know. Theres a good chance, however, that a number of thescenes will end up on the home video release forJustice League. We may even get an extended directors cut from Zack Snyder, something the Justice Leaguefilmmaker is fond of.

Footage and descriptions by other characters imply that the Daleks are most likely somewhere between Mechas and cyborgs. The creature proper could exist outside the mechanical shell, but is very small and weak and must be augmented by the mechanical components. In their introduction, Ian Chesterton was able to "drive" a Dalek shell after discarding the creature. The expanded universe indicates that the Dalek creatures are so biologically degenerate that they have no functional digestive system, no vocal cords and even have difficulty breathing on their own; being implanted in their casings is vital for them to survive for any great length of time, and their nervous and circulatory systems are tied directly into the casing's systems. The Dalek voice is harsh and grating because it is entirely artificial.

The "New Paradigm" Daleks introduced in Victory of the Daleks have an organic eye visible at the end of their eyestalks. Apparently this is the eye of the internal creature, with its optic nerve extruded down a metal pipe.

Cyborg – Injustice:Gods Among Us Wiki

Cyborg

Victor "Vic" Stone

DC Comics Presents #26 (October 1980)

Let's get this party started.

Cyborg is a playable hero character in Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2. He is classified as a Power User.

Part man, part machine, Victor Stone is able to shift his cybernetic body parts into whatever tech he requires. A member of the Justice League, Cyborg is one of crimes most formidable enemies.

Cyborgs fellow Teen Titans did not survive Supermans rise to power. This trauma, coupled with the influence of other, more experienced heroes, led Cyborg to become one of the oppressive regimes enforcers.

Victor Stone lost more than his friends at the tragedy of Metropolis, he lost his hope. His anger tempered his loyalty for Superman and he has remained eager to serve the Regime. With the world left unprepared for the looming threat, Cyborg may be the only one who can combat the technological might of Brainiac.

Cyborg first appears defending the Watchtower alongside Nightwing and Raven against Lex Luthor, Catwoman, Bane and Solomon Grundy. After Batman arrives to assist them, he and Cyborg receive a warning signal about the Joker setting up a nuclear bomb in the center of Metropolis. After Batman, the Joker, and several of the Justice League members are teleported a parallel dimension, Cyborg, Superman and the Flash begin working tirelessly to locate them and bring them back.

In the parallel dimension, Cyborg is shown having joined Superman's One Earth regime and subsequently undergone enhancements to his body. Green Lantern encounters him and the Regime's Raven on the Ferris Aircraft facility torturing their dimension's Deathstroke, who refused the amnesty offered to him by the High Councilor Superman. Green Lantern confronts the two, causing them confusion at first due to his change of uniform color from the Yellow Lantern they know. After Raven is defeated by Green Lantern, Cyborg confronts him but is beaten.

Back in the Justice League's Watchtower, Cyborg and the Flash manage to locate the alternate dimension where their allies were sent and plan to use the Flash's Cosmic Treadmill to pull them back into their dimension. Upon making the necessary modifications, they put their plan into motion. However, the inter-dimensional gateway belonging to the Insurgents activates at the same time, pulling Cyborg into their dimension, where he's needed to repair the kryptonite weapon Batman built to use against Superman. After encountering Deathstroke and Lex Luthor in the Insurgency's hideout, Cyborg misinterprets their intentions and attacks them. He fights them both to a standstill until Batman's counterpart and the members of the Justice League arrive and explain the situation to him.

When Superman's counterpart announces that the displaced Batman will be executed publicly on Stryker's Island, the Insurgency forms a plan to rescue him using the Watchtower's teleporter. Disguising himself as his counterpart, Cyborg infiltrates the Hall of Justice in order to gain access to the Watchtower, grudgingly accompanied by Deathstroke, who Cyborg doesn't trust, regardless of their lack of history. Cyborg goes to activate the teleporter, when it suddenly activates, bringing Catwoman into the Hall. She greets Cyborg, believing him to be his counterpart, but grows suspicious when he uncharacteristically greets her back. She confirms this suspicion by implying that the two of them are involved with each other, causing Cyborg to play along, unaware that she's lying. His cover blown, Catwoman deactivates Cyborg's disguise and attacks him. He manages to defeat her, only to have his legs remotely locked up by his counterpart, who sends for backup from Wonder Woman, unaware that he's speaking to her displaced counterpart. The two Cyborgs start remotely hacking each other's systems simultaneously, ending in a stalemate. Deciding to settle this like men, the two fight one on one, ending in defeat for the Regime's Cyborg.

Their way clear, Cyborg and Deathstroke teleport to the Watchtower, where Cyborg easily takes control of the teleporter using his counterpart's stolen security protocols. However, Deathstroke overloads the Watchtower's reactor as an act of revenge against Superman, jeopardizing the mission and giving the Insurgents only 90 minutes to complete their mission. Once they've secured the displaced Batman, Cyborg teleports them to safety despite a brief malfunction in the teleporter's system. Their mission complete, Cyborg teleports himself and everyone else in the Watchtower to safety, just before the reactor explodes, destroying the Watchtower.

In the wake of the attack on Stryker's and the death of Luthor, the Regime's Superman announces to the council his intentions to destroy Metropolis and Gotham to set an example. He orders his Cyborg and Raven to take control of media broadcasts so the entire world can see it. When the Regime begins their attack on Gotham, the displaced Cyborg fights alongside the Insurgents in the defense of Gotham.

In the epilogue, Cyborg is shown visiting Lex Luthor's grave, where he places the chestpiece of Luthor's battle suit as homage to their fallen comrade. Meanwhile, his counterpart is taken into custody with the rest of Superman's accomplices.

In a flashback, Cyborg, as an accomplice of Superman's plan to remove the Arkham Asylum inmates, was stationed at Gotham to prevent anyone from interfering. Off-screen, he sets the approaching Batplane's systems to autopilot, and appears before them via Boom Tube to attack them. He fires off a warning shot, which doesn't affect Batman but causes Damian Wayne to veer off course. Cyborg confronts Batman on the ground by admitting his reluctance to attack the latter unless he has to. When Batman refuses to back down, Cyborg tells him that he lost all of his friends in Metropolis, and that a similar incident won't happen again if Superman executes his plan. Batman tells him of his right to be angry, but disproves of Superman's plan by stating it's "not a blank check. And the Justice League isn't a death squad," and the two fight, ending in Cyborg's defeat.

In the present day, Cyborg is incarcerated alongside Damian and Superman at Stryker's Island for his role in the Regime, and is guarded by Firestorm and Blue Beetle. During Brainiac's invasion, he is set free by Kara in their attempt to free Superman, and is sent to disable the red sun generators at Superman's prison. While doing so however, Firestorm or Blue Beetle faces off against him, defeating him. He is among his fellow Regime members to come together and outnumber the two heroes, causing Firestorm to prepare to go nuclear. Just as Wonder Woman is about to attack Firestorm however, Batman intervenes, disarming Firestorm. Cyborg then looks on as Batman agrees that he can't defeat Brainiac alone and frees Superman.

He is among the heroes at the Justice League table, as Catwoman goes over the plan. Cyborg is tasked to head to the Batcave to bring Brother Eye back online, much to his reluctance. He is also informed he can't Boom Tube in as Batman had reverse-engineered his Mother Box's technology and should Cyborg try to boom tube into the Batcave, he'll explode. He is also informed that Catwoman and Harley Quinn will be going with him.

On the mission, the trio boom tube at Arkham Asylum, before being ambushed by Poison Ivy who uses pheromones to mind control Harley to attack them. Either Cyborg or Catwoman defeats her and soon Poison Ivy. While on their walk through the sewers to the Batcave, Harley expresses hope that Black Canary and Green Arrow are still alive, before Cyborg doubts that, explaining that Brainiac only takes the best and the two don't qualify as the best. Catwoman replies that she'd still take them over him. Once the trio reach the entrance of the Batcave, he and Catwoman progress further, while Harley Quinn is left to guard the entrance. The duo are then ambushed by Deadshot and Bane, though they both emerge victorious. The duo reach a corrupted Brother Eye, where Cyborg tries to reboot Brother Eye, before being intercepted by Brainiac speaking through the monitors. Brainiac claims that Cyborg is "the pinnacle of human evolution", though claims that his humanity inhibits him from reaching his full potential, before freeing Grid from his memory subsystems. He is defeated by either Cyborg or Catwoman. Cyborg then returns to trying to regain access to the Brother Eye's neural network. Brainiac states that not even he could regain access, before Cyborg responds that he isn't trying to regain access, but rather teach it to ignore Brainiac. It is successful and Brother Eye comes back online.

He is later seen with the other heroes after Superman's apparent death witnessing Brainiac offer a trade surrender Supergirl and he'll spare the Earth. They refuse to take the deal and Cyborg suggests that they short out Brainiac's shields, leaving his ship vulnerable. Black Adam agrees and offers to channel energy from the Rock of Eternity to do so with the Trident of Atlantis as a medium to control it. Cyborg also considers the idea that he create a signal disruptor that could disconnect Brainiac from his ship, similar to how he was disconnected from Brother Eye earlier.

He is later seen handing the disruptor to Batman, also informing him that he'll have to be arms reach within Brainiac in order for it to work. Cyborg is never seen again for the rest of the story, though he is mentioned by Superman that with Cyborg's aid, Superman can gain control over Brainiac's ship, in which Cyborg presumably did so in Superman's ending.

Super Move-1375398843

What little remains of Victor Stone's body is protected by Promethium metal shaped into a mechanical exo-skeleton, armed with advanced weaponry and constantly synced to the internet 24/7, allowing Cyborg complete and total access to all information stored in the World Wide Web. Cyborg's mechanical body affords him superhuman strength and durability high enough to trade and survive blows from Solomon Grundy, though not overpower the zombie. Cyborg's on-board weaponry includes his trademarked arm cannon, which can fire either high decibel blasts of sound or small spheres of energy, either in a single burst or rapid fire. Cyborg also possesses a large amount of missiles for long range attacks, which he can fire from a launcher on his back or from his shoulders. Cybrog also contains a built in Boom Tube to allow himself instantaneous teleportation from one location to another.

Though his arsenal his impressive, Cyborg's real talent is his computer skills. Victor can navigate and coordinate massive strikes through his natural connection to the web, and hack through almost any security system and take complete control of it himself, so long as he remains conscious during the takeover. If he is knocked unconscious during, or hacked himself, the feedback can knock him unconscious.

Repair Circuit:Cyborg's character trait is the ability to regenerate health. The longer the button is held, the more health Cyborg regenerates.

Injustice Gods Among Us - Cyborg Ending HD

With his army of super androids, Cyborg will bring justice to the world.

Injustice 2 Cyborg's Ending

Brainiac thought he had me all figured out. Said my humanity made me weak. But fighting for humanity gave me the strength to body that punk-ass Coluan. And before he dropped, I took a few things... His twelfth-level intellect and his ship's data core. I thought the Internet was gigantic. But now? I've got the whole wide universe at my fingertips. First up, I put back every Earth city Brainiac stole, starting with my hometown, Dakota City! Then I keep going... Superman wants to secure one world, but I can reboot tens of thousands! Every last one in Brainiac's Collection. Gonna be a long trip. But another benefit of my new twelfth-level intellect is I can reunite with some old friends. Titans Together. Boo-yah.

Cyborg's costume is comprised of a metal exoskeleton, which is primarily gray and silver. Half of his face and the underside of his arms are left bare. He has a red glowing circle in the middle of his chest and he can transform his exoskeleton into different weapons at will.

Cyborg has a more advanced robotic exoskeleton which features more plated armor, with two red wires connecting his arms to his back. The only human part of his body is the right side of his face, which is bald.

Cyborg's metal exoskeleton combines elements from both costumes in Injustice, being sleeker in appearance but featuring more armored parts. The exoskeleton is colored white and dark gray, with his symbol being featured on his chest.

Cyborg Movie Review & Film Summary (1989) | Roger Ebert

I am not sure I remember the opening words of "Cyborg" exactly, but I believe they were, "After the plague, things really got bad." I do remember laughing heartily at that point, about 30 seconds into the movie. Few genres amuse me more than post-apocalyptic fantasies about supermen fighting for survival. "Cyborg" is one of the funniest examples of this category, which crosses "Escape from New York" with "The Road Warrior" but cheats on the budget.

The movie takes place in a future world in which all civilization has been reduced to a few phony movie sets. Leather-clad neo-Nazis stalk through the ruins, beating each other senseless and talking in Pulpspeak, which is like English, but without the grace and modulation. It's cold in the future, and it's wet, but never so cold or wet that the costumes do not bare the arm muscles of the men and the heaving bosoms of the women.

The plot of "Cyborg" is simplicity itself. The movie's heroine (Dayle Haddon) is half-woman, half-robot, and wears a computer under her wig. Her knowledge may include the solution to the plague that threatens to destroy mankind, but first she must somehow return to headquarters in Atlanta. Her enemy, Fender Tremolo (Vincent Klyn), wants to destroy her because he believes that if anarchy is unleashed upon the world, he can rule it. The hero, Gibson Rickenbacker (Jean-Claude Van Damme) is on a mission to escort her safely to Atlanta.

(If you look at the names "Fender Tremolo" and "Gibson Rickenbacker" and wonder why they set off strange stirrings in your subconscious, it is because both characters, according to the movie's press book, "are named after equipment and techniques associated with electric guitars." This rule presumably also applies to the characters Furman Vox, Nady Simmons and Roland Pick.) Once we know the central players, the movie turns into a sadomasochistic passion play, in which the village tries out varieties of unspeakable tortures on the hero, including crucifixion, before the formula is (of course) delivered safely after all. The movie reduces itself to a series of smoking, smoldering cityscapes (which look a lot like urban neighborhoods slated for renewal), and the Pulpspeak is the usual combination of vaguely Biblical formalisms, spiced with four-letter words and high-tech gibberish.

Movies like this work if they're able to maintain a high level of energy and invention, as the Mad Max movies do. They do not work when they lower their guard and let us see the reality, which is that several strangely garbed actors feel vaguely embarrassed while wearing bizarre costumes and reciting unspeakable lines.

Cyborg Movie Review & Film Summary (1989) | Roger Ebert

Cyborg Superman – Wikipedia

Cyborg Superman is a persona that has been used by two fictional characters in the DC Universe, both of which are supervillains that appear in comic books published by DC Comics.

Hank Henshaw was an astronaut at NASA until a solar flare hit his space shuttle during an experiment in space, damaging the ship and the crew. Henshaw and the crew found that their bodies had begun to mutate and, after returning to Earth, Henshaw's entire crew (including his wife) eventually committed suicide. After learning that Superman had thrown the Eradicator into the sun in a battle during the space shuttle experiment, Henshaw blamed Superman for the solar flare and the accident. Before his body completely disintegrated due to the radiation exposure, Henshaw was able to save his consciousness. Using NASA communications equipment, Henshaw beamed his mind into the birthing matrix which had carried Superman from Krypton to Earth as an infant. He created a small exploration craft from the birthing matrix and departed into outer space alone. Becoming increasingly mentally unstable, Henshaw used Superman's birthing matrix to create a body identical to Superman's, albeit with cybernetic parts. He returned to Earth to kill Superman, only to discover that Superman had already died during Henshaw's absence. Following Superman's eventual resurrection, Henshaw would not only become a recurring adversary of Superman but of Green Lantern as well. Hank Henshaw became a member of the Sinestro Corps during the Sinestro Corps War.

Zor-El is the younger brother of Jor-El, husband of Alura, father of Supergirl, and paternal uncle of Superman. Originally, he escaped from Krypton's destruction along with the other inhabitants of Argo City. In September 2011, The New 52 rebooted DC's continuity. In this new timeline, Supergirl discovers an amnesiac Cyborg Superman living on the planet I'noxia. This turns out to be Zor-El, who was rescued from Krypton's destruction by Brainiac and reconfigured as a half-man half-machine to be his scout looking for stronger species in the universe.[1]

As Cyborg Superman, Hank Henshaw possesses the ability to control and reanimate various machines. Due to his experience with Superman's birth matrix, Henshaw now has all of Superman's powers and genetic tissue identical to the Man of Steel's. As a member of the Sinestro Corps, Henshaw has access to a power ring fueled by fear energy that allows him to create any construct he can imagine.

As Cyborg Superman, Zor-El is cybernetically enhanced with the ability to fly, fire powerful heat rays from his cybernetic eye, and project electricity from his body. Zor-El's cybernetic arm can shape shift into whatever he desires, limited only by the technology available to him at the given moment that he chooses to use this ability. Zor-El is virtually indestructible, and also has super-speed and super-strength.

DC's direct-to-DVD movie Superman: Doomsday, based on "The Death of Superman" storyline, features a variation on the Cyborg Superman character. One of the many changes is a streamlined cast which cuts the four Superman imposters, including Cyborg Superman. Elements from three of the four impostors (Hank Henshaw, Superboy, and the Eradicator), were combined into the Superman clone created by Lex Luthor in the film.[5]

British wunderkind radio producer Dirk Maggs produced a Superman radio series for BBC Radio 5 in the 1990s. When the "Death of Superman" story arc happened in the comics, Maggs presented a very faithful, though much pared down, version of the tale which featured Stuart Milligan as Clark Kent/Superman, Lorelei King as Lois Lane, and William Hootkins as Lex Luthor. Versatile American actor Kerry Shale was cast both as the villainous Hank Henshaw and as Superboy. The story arc was packaged for sale on cassette and CD as Superman: Doomsday and Beyond in the UK and as Superman Lives! in the USA.

Justice League: Cyborg’s Movie Powers Explained

Now thatJustice League is in theaters, Cyborg has finally entered the DCEU but what exactly can this version of Victor Stone do? Last yearsBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice offered fans a tease of Vic, but its been the lead-up toJustice League thats shown the full extent of the young hero and his abilities. While the proposedCyborg solo film will fully explore the character,Justice League does a good job getting fans up to speed on the cinematic take on the hero.

When we first meet the reborn Stone, the majority of his body has been replaced by cybernetic parts. As he explains to his father Silas, the failed experiment that led to Vics near-death is connected to the Change Engine otherwise known as one of the three Mother Boxes in the film. Augmenting his body with its tech, Cyborg is in a constant state of flux and learns new abilities each day. WhileJustice League never provides a full rundown, we know a number of Cyborgs powers thanks to what he does in the film and what he can do in the comics.

Care of Cyborgs upgrades, hes both super strong and incredibly durable. We even see him stitch his body back together after Steppenwolf literally rips him in half. Cyborg can also interface with any form of technology, from Batmans Knightcrawler to Supermans Kryptonian ship. We can also see him hack into the Batcave on autopilot, tap into military computers with a thought, and track systems all over the world. He can even project holograms to add a little flair to his abilities.

Along with his technopathy, Cyborg hasa slew of offensive and defensive capabilities. His body is constantly changing, and even adapts to threats as they appear. We see him at various points deploy an energy cannon, a rocket launcher, a freeze ray, and even a shield that can withstand Supermans heat vision.

Though Cyborg has been around since the 80s, often fighting alongside the Teen Titans, its his revised origin in the New 52 that the film takes inspiration from. There, his father Silas was experimenting on a Mother Box when his football-star son shows up. Their relationship is contentious, with Silas wanting Victor to use his vast intelligence to become a scientist as well. When an accident causes an explosion, Vic is torn to shreds and only saved once hes bonded with the Mother Box. Most of his movie abilities remain, but he also gains the power to summon Boom Tubes, the portals Steppenwolf uses to get around in the movie.

Like in the film, the New 52 version of Cyborg is similarly changing over time shifting his powers and appearanceas he further bonds with his technology.Justice League, however, pulls a little from the Jamie Reyes version of Blue Beetle. He too has an alien set of armor, but it adapts to situations into near-infinite combinations. It also has a mind of its own, something we see Cyborg struggle with when Superman appears. Still, these concepts fit nicely with Cyborgs alien connection and provide even more tragedy for the character inJustice League.

Justice League: Origin

Victor Stone was a high school athlete at odds with his brilliant scientist father Silas Stone.[1] Vic was caught in an explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs when a nearby Father Box detonated.[2]

His father saved his life by using experimental technology to turn him into a cyborg in the Red Room. Dr. Stone injected his son with nanites and installed experimental robotic parts . These included a Promethean skin graft, Dr. Will Magnus' Responsometer, Professor Ivo's A-maze operating system, the classified and prototypical B-maze operating system, and Dr. Ryan Choi's White Dwarf Stabilizer, as well as the energies from the Father Box. This allowed Vic to access the vast New Gods data library and discover Darkseid's true invasion plans.[3]

When Vic first woke up after the accident, he discovered he could not move his legs, and then later learned of his new robotic body. The Red Room was attacked by a group of Parademons; before they could hurt Dr. Charles, Cyborg's defense system's reacted automatically, causing his arm to shift into a sonic cannon. He destroyed the creatures, along with half the building. Vic, still in shock, asked his father what happened to him; his father told him that he couldn't let him die. Vic escaped through the hole in the wall, with his father's calls to stay falling on deaf ears.

While roaming the streets, Vic saved a woman being attacked by Parademons; in the process, he also absorbed some of the Parademon's components, giving him access to Boom Tube technology. This new ability automatically transported him to the site of a major battle, where he met Aquaman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Superman and Wonder Woman while trying to control his new powers.[4] In the middle of the alien invasion, he helped them fight Darkseid and his Parademon army.[5] Cyborg tapped into the alien technology to close their portal after Superman hurled Darkseid back to Apokolips. This crisis lead humanity to finally accept super-heroes.[6]

Vic receives a visual feed of the hero Shazam (Billy Batson) heading to the nation of Kahndaq. This leads Batman to reassemble the Justice League, along with a new recruit: the magic-wielding Zatanna. Together they traveled to Kahndaq to stop Shazam.[7]

After the supposed death of Doctor Light by Superman's hands in Kahndaq, Vic and the Martian Manhunter performed an autopsy to prove that the villain's death was not Superman's fault.[8] Wonder Woman teams up with the Justice League Dark to go look for Pandora; Vic is among the heroes that remain at A.R.G.U.S., while the rest of the Justice League try and stop her.[9]

Victor was present when the Atom of Earth 3 informs Superman, Firestorm, and Element Woman of the true purpose behind the Justice League of America; she reveals that they were being spied on, which lead to them ending up in Kahndaq.[10]

When the Crime Syndicate of Earth 3 arrived on Prime Earth, Cyborg's body was taken over by a sentient computer virus. It rejects Vic's human body, and the Green Lantern is forced to suspend him in green energy as Cyborg's body reforms as a complete humanoid, and introduces itself as Grid before unleashing heavy artillery blasts on everyone.[11]

After his organic body was rejected by Grid, Victor was taken to S.T.A.R. Labs by Batman and Catwoman in the hopes that Silas could help him. Silas was at first hesitant to turn his child once more into Cyborg, to which Victor pleaded that he should stop protecting him and that it was his decision to be transformed into Cyborg this time; he must help stop the Crime Syndicate. Cyborg's new armor was crafted after Victor told his father to take him into the real red room, which he knew about since he went on-line for the first time. The armor was made slimmer since he would rather to look more human like than a tank; jump jets were also installed so he wouldn't rely solely on Boom tubes. He noted that being off-line; it was quiet and that he wasn't being bombarded by information.[12] Cyborg goes to enroll the assistance of Doctor Will Magnus so he could revive his metal men to help him fight against the Crime Syndicate. Magnus initially refuse to revive his Metal men as he deemed them failures, however Cyborg persuades him to do so.[13] With the group once again revived and united they're led against The Grid who Cyborg lured away from the Watchtower. Grid summoned members of the Secret Society but they were quickly dispatched by the Metal Men under the command of Victor. Cyborg and Grid both enter the digital world where they fight with one another. Grid initially had the upper hand after using Victor's human side as his weakness. However Cyborg expresses that he has grasped his tech side and that he is the bridge between human and technology and he controls the digital universe, then, severing the Grid's connection with the outside world, Cyborg traps him inside the body.[14] Receiving Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth from Steve Trevor, Victor travels to fallen Watchtower where he helps Batman utilize Wonder Woman's rope to free the Justice League groups from the Firestorm network.[15]

After-which, the League underwent a paradigm shift introducing a few new members onto its team. That being a recently depowered Captain Cold, a youthful new ward empowerd by divine magic; who incidentally nearly started an international incident Shazam and finally a well known villain who'ed recently turned over a new leaf, Lex Luthor.[16] While he and Shazam were on Monitor duty searching for Power Ring's missing ring, he suggested the new leaguer to try using his magic. Which instead ended up in him conjuring a ping pong table they could play while they worked.[17] When the New Power Ring went on a tear through Portland; Oregon, The Justice League intervened to try and quell the situation. But tensions quickly skyrocketed when the Doom Patrol had came with intentions of their own regarding the ring. When he tried to interface with the ring that Volthoom inhabited, doing so fused his circuits and fried all of his systems rendering him unconscious as a result.[18] Back at S.T.A.R. Labs Victor was getting looked over by his father Sylas. As Shazam eagerly wished to zip over to Metropolis to aid Superman and Lex in they're battle against a rampaging Gorilla Grodd, Cyborg himself couldn't head out because his bionics were all but derezzed due to his interaction with the alien ring's computer.[19] But more than gave his consent to head out in his place, in the meantime he would go over the visions he saw of the entity that destroyed the Crime Syndicate's earth. Suggesting to take another dive into the ring to find out more, only for his dad to advise against it given he might be trapped inside it if he did that again.[20]

An incident occurred revolving around the forces of Apokolips searching for something called a Chaos Shard which is sought after by Glorious Godfrey and his Parademon horde. While he and the rest of the League managed to drive them off and save Batman's life, he was cross with them as they let them get away with the sarcophagus carrying both the body of his deceased son and a fragment of the Chaos Crystal that was hidden within it.[21]

While he and the rest of the crew stand strongly against Bruce's desire to infiltrate the domain of Darkseid, given that his territory is a huge X-Factor which the act of such an undertaking could lead to incredibly dire consequences. Batman hijacked Vic's teleportation apparatuses and beamed his way up into the Watchtower to procure a powerful armament he and the rest of the Justice League had a hand in building for him.[22] Which in turn took next to the entire Justice League just to dissuade his impossible task, for a time. After a distraction set by Batman was initiated in the form of solid holographic projections appearing as some of the JL's most dangerous enemies. Batman once again made off with the Hellbat to the destopian world of Apokolips.[23]

When called upon to the Batcave, Cyborg is misled by Batgirl, Red Robin and Red Hood into believing they need help with the holo-villians projected to distract him and the League prior to Bruce's departure to what is essentially Hell. He jacked himself into the Batcomupter in order to disable the rogue programs only to fall prey to The Batman's contingency devised to incapacitate him should the need arise.

The program they immersed him in would keep Victor docile and powerdown his defensive systems until Barbara could hot wire his Mother Box in order to get the Boom Tube working. As the three make it through the tube as soon as it activates, Cyborg soon awakes from his programmed sleep mode to witness their transition between dimensions. Being more than a little peeved at the Bat-Family for using him the way they did, he would jump in after them with Titus following after as he bit onto his leg.[24] Just making it through the portal with brief seconds to spare, Cyborg votes the crew just find and help batman now and save the admonishment of responsible parties for later. Just as they are beset by the dregs of Armegetto when Darkseid's son Kalibak discharges his Chaos Cannon.

Cyborg and the Bat Kids enter into a small skirmish between the starving pit feeders and the Apokoliptian Dog Cavalry. The battle is quickly ended with Cyborg blasting the enemy combatants with his sonic cannons, leaving behind a better morsel for those who attacked them to feed upon as they make their escape.

Eventually finding the Dark Knight battling the nightmarish planets heavily armed special forces, Bruce's Family reminds him why he initially came to enemy territory in the first place while Cyborg leads the charge into Kalibak's citadel to take back The Chaos Shard and his Son's body.[25]

As the Batman and his crew led the assault on Kalibak and his forces, Cyborg immediately went to work dismantling his Chaos cannon. Tearing it clean in half with his bear hands, but he was hit with a crippling systems feed back when he tried to interface with the cannon's main power station. Frying and fusing most of his circuitry.[25] Due to his systems being disrupted, Victor was left mechanically catatonic. Barely even able to lift his head up, as Batman battled Darkseid while Red Hood and Tim fought off Parademon's and the rest of the Apokoliptian horde. Vic talked Barbara through opening his chest to rewire the Mother Box in it manually again. Succeeding in opening up a Boom Tube they vacated to the portal with due haste.[26]

It's later revealed that Cyborgs systems were infected with a virus however, reasoning as to why the Boob Tube wasn't closing. When Jason and Tim tried to assist him, his auto defense systems kicked in zapping them both. Stating it would take him some time to purge his systems and initiate a reboot in order to regain control of his Boom Tube protocols. Eventually working to get systems back online, just as Batman rammed a Batplane into Kaliback back through an Open portal.[27] Afterwards Cyborg heads out to inform the rest of the league of everything that had happened.

During the invasion of the Dark Multiverse, Cyborg is captured and tortured by the Murder Machine. He escapes thanks to his Mother Box and rescues the Justice League.

Victor Stone was the son of a pair of scientists who decided to use him as a test subject for various intelligence enhancement projects. However, Victor grew to resent this treatment and fell in with a young miscreant named Ron Evers who led him into trouble with the law.[1] This was the beginning of a struggle where Victor strove for his own life engaging in pursuits his parents disapproved of such as athletics. In addition, Victor still kept bad company that led him into incidents such as when he was talked into participating in a street gang fight in which he was wounded. For the most part however, Victor still had a largely normal life under the circumstances where he also refused to follow his best friend's grandiose plans of racially motivated terrorism.

All that changed one day when he visited his parents at work at S.T.A.R. Labs. Coincidentally, an experiment in dimensional travel went horribly awry when a massive gelatinous monster crossed over an experimental portal and killed Victor's mother. The creature then turned on Victor and severely mutilated him before his father managed to force the creature back through the portal. To save his son, Victor's father outfitted him with experimental prostheses of his own design. However, the equipment could not be worn inconspicuously, and thus Victor was horrified to see much of his body, including part of his face, replaced with sheer metallic limbs and implants. Although Victor wanted to die at this shock, he adjusted enough through his resulting physical therapy to control his implants with suitable skill.

Upon release from medical care, he found his life was seriously inconvenienced with the fearful reactions of the public at his implants; even his girlfriend rejected him. In addition, he was also disallowed his participation in athletics not only for his implants but for his poor grades which were further exacerbated by his long convalescence. However, when his old friend attempted to use Victor's troubles to manipulate him into attempting a terrorist attack on the United Nations, Victor found a new purpose as he equipped his weapons attachments and stopped his friend in a pitched battle on the UN building.

He joined the Teen Titans, initially for the benefit of a support group of kindred spirits and freaks and has remained with that group ever since. In addition, Victor found new friends who saw past his disfigurements to his own nobility such as a group of children who were adjusting to their own prostheses and idolized Victor with his fancy parts and exciting adventures as well as their beautiful therapist who took a shine to him herself.

Throughout his association with the Titans, Victor has been destroyed, reconstructed, assimilated by an alien race, and had his humanity restored. He later went on to mentor a new Teen Titans group, consisting mainly of sidekicks, most of whom have taken over the secret identities of former members (i.e. Tim Drake, the third Robin, instead of Dick Grayson, the original Robin and Titans leader), as well as stalwarts such as Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy, where they have fought enemies such as Deathstroke, Doctor Light, The Titans of Tomorrow and Superboy and Indigo during the Insiders storyline with a team up with the Outsiders.

Cyborg always had a problem with his humanity. Since he had lost most of his body in that horrible accident which turned him into a hero; he had always been challenged to maintain his human-side along side living with his robotic body. After a while Cyborg began to upgrade his body with new powers, weapons, and abilities. He became more of a robot; his voice changed and his mannerisms were more technical. Although he maintained he was still human not much was left. Eventually during the event of the Technis Imperative a robotic life form named Technis came to earth during it's universal search for knowledge and cataloging. When it tried to assimilate Earth the Titans stopped it, but Technis singled out Cyborg as he was practically a walking computer. Cyborg's one main crave was his humanity back to it's original level so he could be the athlete he always wanted to and Technis sought to serve this purpose. Technis was not one single being he was a mass of hundreds of them; beings who had a linked minded aptitude to collecting. So Cyborg joined their group in exchange for his soul, essentially. He became Cyberion and Technis became his family, but in the search and cataloging that spanned the universe Cyborg decided to ask Beast Boy to help him on his journey. Beast Boy accepted and Cyborg, now called Cyberion Technis, travelled around the universe until the day Technis was destroyed in a battle. This utterly changed Cyborg as he now lost his second family which shook loose his humanity again and he began to remember his old self and longed for it's return.[2]

After this entire event Beast Boy lost faith momentarily in his best friend and fled back to earth. Now entirely alone, Victor Stone, lost all sense of humanity in a matter of days. Without a team of Teen Titans on earth and with members spread across the globe Cyborg eventually came back to earth in a big way. He became Planet Cyberion and on his cascading trip back to earth he began assimilating and collect everything in his way until he became as big as the moon and when he returned to earth he overcame the moon and with it the JLA Watchtower. The Justice League was angered at this hostile takeover and attacked Cyborg not knowing the man within. Cyborg began to take every single Titan ever on the roster at all (including Green Lantern Kyle Rayner and Atom Ray Palmer. But since the Justice League attacked Cyborg his actions started to affect the Earth and it's atmosphere (he was riding on the moon). Horrible natural disasters and terrible technological threats and shut downs afflicted the earth plant-wide. All the Titans were brought in pods to Titan's Island in New York City. Once all of the Justice League, Young Justice, JLA Reserves, Titans and Teen Titans were brought together a massive fight broke out over the destruction of Cyborg vs. the savior of the world. This fight distracted Cyborg's programming and allowed a team of Leaguers and Titans to break off and head towards the moon where the main central power core of Cyborg's being as held. The Titans (mostly Beast Boy) succeeded in bringing the human out of Cyborg by manipulating his virtual reality environmental programming and using it on Cyborg himself; this produced an image of Victor's father that said only pleasant things to Victor. Victor's soul was finally free and Raven herself brought his soul to try and upload it into the Titan's mainframe computer. However Victor's soul rejected the computer programming and Beast Boy suggested putting his soul in the Omegadrome Suit and she did. Cyborg then became Omegadrome; the golden suit, shape shifting Cyborg.[3]

During Infinite Crisis, Cyborg joined Donna's New Cronus Team that went to investigate a hole in the universe that was discovered during the Rann-Thanagar War. He left Beast Boy in charge of the Titans while he was gone. They arrived at the re-set center of the universe and with the help of assorted heroes, aided in the defeat of Alexander Luthor, who was attempting to re-create the Multiverse and build a perfect Earth from it.

Cyborg was fused together with Firestorm after returning to Earth. This was caused by the energy ripples caused by Alexander Luthor Jr. which altered the Zeta Ray Beams the heroes were going to use to return home.[4]

After being severely damaged during the events of Infinite Crisis, Cyborg was rebuilt over time in thanks to Tower caretakers Wendy and Marvin. He awoke one year later to find a wholly different group of Titans led by Robin, the only member from the team he formed prior to going into space. Cyborg felt that members such as Kid Devil and Ravager were hardly worthy of being Titans, and thus was attempting to find a way to re-form "the real Titans".

After the team along with the Doom Patrol defeated the Brotherhood of Evil, Cyborg asked Beast Boy to rejoin the Titans, but Gar refused saying that his skills were needed with the Patrol. After returning to Titans Tower, Cyborg began reviewing the security tapes during the last year, in which it appears that he was looked to by all the Titans of the past year for a shoulder to lean on, despite being in a coma-like state.

Although Cyborg did retain the position of statesman amongst the Teen Titans and occasionally played second-in-command to Robin's lead, he no longer operated as a Titan in any official capacity.

Shortly thereafter, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman agreed that Cyborg should be offered membership in the new Justice League. However, following a battle against Amazo, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) and Black Canary took over the formation of the JLA, and Cyborg was not included among the roster.[5]

Cyborg began putting together a new branch of Titans East which consisted of Anima, Dove, Hawk, Lagoon Boy, Little Barda and Power Boy. During a training exercise, the team was attacked by an unknown foe and Cyborg was severely injured.[6] This incident inspires the original members of the "New" Teen Titans to regroup and investigate the situation.[7]

Cyborg's new team didn't work out and when the new Teen Titans formed after his Titan's East's destruction he played second in command again. Although not officially on the roster he helped them on their investigations; he later joined officially and headed the new team of Teen Titans. They had many adventures together when their numbers started to grow and the founding members started to move on to bigger things. Wonder Girl began to lead this new team and they moved to Titans Tower in San Francisco, California. Soon the old founding members joined an unofficial team called the Titans to work as a family and a place to relax from their all overwhelming lives. But the peace didn't last when lives started to overlap and intersect and fewer members started showing up.

When the Titans fell apart again, Cyborg joined the JLA alongside Dick (as Batman) and Donna Troy. Officially on the team, he did not enter the field of battle much. Instead, he devoted his time to helping improve the Red Tornado's android body.

Holly Holm says she’s ‘open’ to fighting Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino in … – ESPN (blog)

Former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm says she's open to facing Cris 'Cyborg' Justino for the UFC's featherweight championship in December.

Holm (11-3) is currently weighing options for her next bout. The Albuquerque native is coming off a highlight reel knockout over Bethe Correia in a 135-pound fight in June.

A 145-pound matchup between Holm and Justino (18-1), who won her title last month, would be a very strong draw for the UFC. President Dana White has already expressed his interest, and Justino has all but demanded Holm move up in weight for a Dec. 30 matchup in Las Vegas.

A former boxing champion who has fought at 145 pounds previously, Holm has been relatively quiet about the proposed superbout but told ESPN she's quite open to it.

"This is me publicly saying, 'Yes, I am open to the fight at 145 [pounds],'" Holm said. "[But] I'm not going to take a fight at 135 pounds one month, and then the next month it's, 'Oh hey, do you want to fight Cyborg at 145?'

"This is me going outside of my weight class and that's OK. I'm willing to take the fight. I just want to have a full training camp."

When asked if a proposed Dec. 30 date would be enough time to prepare, Holm said it would. In that case, the only detail left to sort out would be a bout contract.

"My [UFC] contract is at 135 pounds," Holm said. "So, if they came with a fight like that, I would say, 'Let's negotiate.'

"I truly feel that is one of, if not the biggest, female fights they can promote. I'm not in it for the priority of money, but I value myself. My biggest passion is about the fight itself, but this is my career and anybody looking out for their career is looking at the facts. This is a huge fight and I'm sure everybody around it, the promotion, is going to make money. So, I would expect more money."

This is not the first time discussions have taken place regarding this matchup.

The UFC approached Holm about a 140-pound catchweight fight against Justino earlier this year, which she says she was also open to. The fight never materialized, in part because Justino was dealing with a potential anti-doping violation she was ultimately cleared from.

For the record, Holm isn't convinced Justino couldn't simply drop down to the 135-pound weight class, which is deeper than 145. Justino's struggles to make the lower weight have been well documented, and led to the UFC opening a new weight class this year.

That said, Holm isn't ruling out a move up. She's also a candidate to face the winner of a Sept. 9 bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko, but acknowledges it's the Justino fight that has people talking.

"I've had no fight presented to me," Holm said. "[But] obviously, there are talks.

"I know she kind of gets upset that a lot of people are dodging her -- but there are two ways to look at it. Is everybody dodging her, or is she dodging everybody in the 135-pound division? I could go and call out the entire 125-pound division.

"She's made 140 pounds. What's five [more] pounds? If she really, really, really wanted to -- yes, I 100 percent think Cyborg can make 135. She's my exact height."

If Holm, 35, were to move up and defeat Justino, she'd have an even stronger case as the most accomplished female combat athlete of all time. In addition to holding titles in multiple sports, Holm handed Ronda Rousey the first loss of her MMA career in November 2015 -- a violent second-round knockout.

Holly Holm ready to fight ‘beatable’ UFC champ Cris Cyborg if the … – MMAjunkie.com

Holly Holm is ready and willing to fight UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg as soon as possible she just wants to make sure all the terms are correct, specifically when it comes to financial compensation.

There are many fighters unwilling to face Cyborg (18-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC), who has been one of the most dominant figures in the sport over her more than 12-year undefeated run. Ex-champ Holm (11-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) is not only of them, but she knows a bout the magnitude of one against the Brazilian is worthy of a significant deal.

I dont get too nitpicky with a lot of stuff, Holm told MMAjunkie. I dont want to be a whiny fighter. She better make weight, Ill tell you that. I do feel like the compensation should be a lot more, based on the fact its the biggest girls fight anyone can have right now; thats my reasoning. I feel like we should be compensated for it. That has nothing else to do with anything else other than its just a factual thing. That has nothing to do with the drama or anything else.

Holm is coming off a third-round knockout of Bethe Correia at UFC Fight Night 111. The victory snapped a three-fight losing skid for the former womens 135-pound titleholder, one of which included a unanimous decision defeat to Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural womens featherweight belt at UFC 208 in February.

Cyborg, meanwhile, claimed the vacant 145-pound belt that was stripped from de Randamie when she defeated Tonya Evinger by third-round TKO at UFC 214 in July. There was immediate talk of a bout with Holm afterward, and UFC President Dana White said The Preachers Daughter was interested in the fight at the UFC 214 post-fight press conference.

Holm said shes not going to wait forever for it to happen, though.

Its a big possibility, Holm said. Theres been a couple times weve talked about it before. Weve talked about a catchweight which she didnt want to do. That was before they opened the 145-pound division. If the fight with Cyborg is offered, then Im going to sign it. If not, then whoever they give me. I dont want my career to be defined by one fight. Everyone was talking about the Ronda (Rousey) fight, and then what? Theres still a whole career thats always still out there. Im not going to sit around waiting for one. If the opportunity comes, then thats great.

One of the sticking points for most fighters when it comes to Cyborg is a concern about her history with drug testing. She flunked a test in December 2011 while competing under the now-defunct Strikeforce organization and also had a brief hiccup with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in December, a case where she was later cleared of any wrongdoing.

Holm has historically taken a hard stance against performance-enhancing drugs, but she said Cyborgs past isnt of great concern.

A lot of the girls have their reason to not really want to fight her, Holm said. She got the violation before (in 2011). I dont know. My thing is: I dont want to touch it. I dont want to have any enhancers. I just want to know if I got somewhere, it was from hard work. That, in turn, keeps me more mentally strong. Whatever other people do is their own thing. It should definitely be a clean sport. She says shes clean now, but no matter what Im capable of winning that fight off of hard work. Im still open to fighting her no matter what.

Cyborg has addressed a potential fight with Holm many times on social media since UFC 214. She said she wants the matchup to take place at the year-end UFC 219 event in December, but has also accused Holm of using her name to raise her profile and receive greater compensation. Holm said shes not interested in engaging in a war of words.

I dont really care what Cyborg says, Holm said. Shes had a lot to say lately. I dont really look into it. Im just waiting to have a contract sent to me. Thats when the fights on, and Im going to train hard. Im not into saying who is trying to use whos name or all this other BS stuff. I dont get into it.

With the fullest expectations that her next trip to the octagon will be for an encounter with Cyborg, Holm said she has the utmost confidence she can be the one to snap Cyborgs incredible 19-fight unbeaten streak.

I think anybody has a game plan that can be used against them and some kind of weakness, Holm said. I can take her out of her element, out of her game. Shes definitely beatable. Im not going to sit here and say she was impressive or not impressive in her last fight. Styles make a difference and that was a different fight and our fight would be something completely different. Im ready for it.

Before a trip to Anaheim, Calif., brought her the UFCs womens 145-pound title, Cris Cyborg was gifted a symbolic belt by the children of a hospital in her hometown of Curitiba, Brazil.

This Monday, delivering on a promise she made to herself, the champ returned to the hospital with a gift of her own: an actual UFC belt.

These kids are much more than champions they fight every day for their lives, Cyborg said in an official statement sent out by the UFC. And a small gesture like this one makes a huge difference in their lives.I always talk about this, about the importance of fighting for those who cant fight. Its so good to make someone happy because it makes us happy, as well. It was very gratifying to come here today.

For the visit to the hospital, which is an industry leader in cancer treatment, the champ was joined by former PRIDE champ and UFC Hall of Famer Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. According to the official statement, the hospital will keep the belt in its pediatric area.

Cyborg (18-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) captured the 145-pound title at last months UFC 214, with a third-round TKO over fellow former Invicta FC champion Tonya Evinger (19-6 MMA, 0-1 UFC). Shes currently in her native country for a media tour.

While Cyborg has been campaigning for a meeting with ex-champ Holly Holm, her octagon future is still uncertain.

What Rick’s Cybernetic Enhancements Mean for RICK AND MORTY – Nerdist

Last weekend, Rick and Morty took a slight detour when Rick Sanchez took his soon to be ex-son-in-law, Jerry Smith, on an impromptu pity adventure that almost got them both killed. But before they shared an epoch of consciousness and some awkward naked wrestling, Jerry discovered something new about Rick: hes gone full cyborg! Todays Nerdist News is looking into Ricks Class C or above cybernetic augmentations and how they may shape the future of the series!

Join the galaxys most wanted host, Jessica Chobot, as she breaks down the details from Ricks full body scan. And as you can see in the gif posted below, Ricks had a lot of work done. The bones in his arms and legs appear to have been replaced, at least one of his major organs has been upgraded, his left eye has been augmented, and theres an implant in his brain!

How did this happen? Its possible that Rick made these additions off-camera this season after he broke out of the Federation prison. But the theory that were going with is that Rick inherited these implants when he jumped into several different bodies during the third season premiere. Rick C-137 may be the Rickiest of all of the Ricks, but he doesnt have his original body anymore.

Within this episode, we also saw that Rick has an arm gun built into his body, which could potentially be useful for future engagement with his countless enemies across the universe. Thats where the potential problem arises. Have Ricks new upgrades made him too powerful? Is that how he was able to defeat Worldender and his followers while on a black out bender? Were very curious to see if Ricks cyber-enhancements will continue to be explored this season, and whether the shows creative team decides to take them away from him before the finale.

What do you think about Cyber Rick? Lets discuss in the comment section below!

Holly Holm says she’d fight Cris Cyborg under the right conditions – FanSided

SINGAPORE - JUNE 16: Holly Holm of the United States poses on the scale during the UFC Fight Night weigh-in at the Marina Bay Sands on June 16, 2017 in Singapore. (Photo by Brandon Magnus/Zuffa LLC/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images)

Former bantamweight champion Holly Holm says that shed be open to fighting UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg Justino but she has a condition. Holm says she will face Justino, but only after a full training camp.

This is me publicly saying, Yes, I am open to the fight at 145 [pounds],' Holm said to ESPN. [But] Im not going to take a fight at 135 pounds one month, and then the next month its, Oh hey, do you want to fight Cyborg at 145? This is me going outside of my weight class and thats OK. Im willing to take the fight. I just want to have a full training camp.

Holm has already made one appearance in the 145-pound division when she faced Germaine de Randamie for the interim featherweight title. She was defeated via controversial decision and then returned to the bantamweight division. De Randamie then refused to fight Cyborg, who the featherweight division was created for, and was stripped of her title. Cyborg went on to face Invicta bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger who she defeated via a third-round TKO.

Even though Holm says she will fight the champion, there are some negotiations she says she would make before taking a fight with the woman many call the greatest striker of all time.

I truly feel that is one of, if not the biggest, female fights they can promote, Holm said. Im not in it for the priority of money, but I value myself. My biggest passion is about the fight itself, but this is my career and anybody looking out for their career is looking at the facts. This is a huge fight and Im sure everybody around it, the promotion, is going to make money. So, I would expect more money.

Justino has been vocal via her social media platforms that a fight with Holm is the next logical step, so well see if this battle ever does come to fruition in the near future.

There’s More To Justice League’s Cyborg Than Trailers Suggest – GameSpot

Subscribe for the latest gaming news

DC's Justice League is just a few months away from release, and many are curious about its lesser known hero, Cyborg. Joe Morton, who plays Dr. Silas Stone--the father of the hero--discussed working on the November film, as well introducing Victor Stone, also known as Cyborg, into the ensemble film.

While promoting the theatrical released of Terminator 2: 3D, Joe Morton, who played Cyberdyne Systems employee Miles Dyson, discussed his reoccurring role of Dr. Silas Stone in the upcoming Justice League movie. Morton appeared in 2016's Batman v. Superman during a string of odd scenes in which the audience is shown videos of other metahumans within the DC cinematic universe, like Flash and Aquaman. One of those scenes included Stone, who was trying to figure out a way to save his son, who had not yet become Cyborg.

Many fans have been vocal that it's hard to get excited about Cyborg in Justice League simply because they are unfamiliar with the character and his origin. Morton explained that this will be covered: "With Cyborg and with Silas Stone, you're getting the sort of outside story," Morton told GameSpot. "You'll get to know them through the death of Cyborg's mother. You'll get to know what Silas is in terms of reconstructing his son. You'll get to know the angst between Silas and Victor, his son."

He went on to explain that down the line, Cyborg will get his own solo film because there is more to him than meets the eye: "What I love about what they've done so far--especially because the character is African-American--you get to understand the difficulty of being 'the other.' Cyborg is unlike the other superheroes. He has no alias to hide behind. He is who and what he is, so when he walks down the street, that's who you see, and people are obviously afraid of him."

Because of a family tragedy with Zack Snyder, Morton worked with two different directors on this film, Snyder and Joss Whedon, who each have a few superhero films under their belts: "I enjoyed working with both directors. Joss Whedon was terrific and so was Zack Snyder," explained Morton. "Zack is intense about the work. He knows film inside and out. It's very light-hearted and comic book-ish. I think with comic book films, the guys that do them know the comics so well, they bring that whole attitude with them onto the set. It's delightful. It's great."

Justice League will hit theaters on November 17--that is, as long as there are no delays with digitally removing Superman's mustache. T2: 3D comes to theaters on August 25.
