The Weeknd’s ‘Trilogy’ expected to debut at Billboard’s No. 2

In the battle for falsetto-heavy lust-cyborg supremacy on the Billboard charts this week, we have may have an unexpected victor.

No, we're not talking about One Direction, whose second studio album, "Take Me Home," is a lock to claim the top spot this week. The gloomy R&B project The Weeknd, helmed by singer Abel Tesfaye, appears to be a sleeper pick for the No. 2 slot with "Trilogy."

The album, a physical compilation of the group's three free mixtapes from 2011 and some bonus material, is expected to move around 100,000 units in its first week for XO/Republic.

The project earned rapturous buzz for its narcotic, decadent soundscapes and initially cryptic Internet presence, but has since moved into the limelight with high-profile Drake collaborations and major festival appearances. The act will play a prime slot at next month's Cali Christmas in L.A., hosted by mainstream hip-hop tastemaker Power 106.

The loser in this standoff? Christina Aguilera. Despite years of stardom and an ongoing judgeship on "The Voice," her new studio record, "Lotus," looks to debut at around 80,000, likely trailed by Soundgarden, Lana Del Rey and Green Day's new records.

The lesson? That TV fame perhaps can't provide the same buzz as previously free Internet mix tapes about semi-consensual group sex and drug binges.

Ronda Rousey’s Manager Reacts to Cyborg ‘s Doctor Putting Brakes on 135 Pounds

Following a report that said Cris "Cyborg's" doctors refused to sign off on a weight cut for the former Strikeforce champion's move to 135 pounds, Ronda Rousey's management is calling shenanigans.

Darin Harvey, who represents Rousey in her MMA dealings, said on Tuesday that Cyborg's inability to make the women's bantamweight division is simply the opinion of one physician, and guarantees other doctors would easily give a green light for the weight cut.

"If you ask five doctors, you'll get five different opinions," Harvey said in an exclusive interview. "I guarantee you, you can find doctors that'll say the weight cut will be fine."

Harvey speculated that the doctor, who went unnamed in the report, is working in the favor of his patient in an effort to force a potential Rousey-Cyborg bout at 145 pounds.

"It all depends on what side they're working for," Harvey said. "It's her doctor. If you're going to trial, I can find a professional witness to make you look innocent or make you look guilty."

As Cyborg is currently serving a suspension for performance-enhancing drugs, she can't compete until after January 2013. At that time, Strikeforce is expected to fold and fighters from the organization will presumably transition over to the UFC. It's anticipated that Rousey and Cyborg will be part of the company's first women's division.

Harvey said that a bout between his client and Cyborg has the potential to have over a million Pay-Per-View buys. And although he's confident Rousey can beat the suspended fighter regardless of weight class, Harvey said he believes the 135-pound limit is still a realistic goal for Cyborg -- assuming there's no drugs involved.

"We want that fight because it's a big money fight," he said. "We want to fight Cyborg and I think Ronda can beat her at any weight. But I believe if she's not taking drugs, 135 pounds will be absolutely no problem.

"I don't want to see anyone get hurt long-term but my personal belief is she can lose the weight. She would just prefer an advantage to fight at 145 pounds. And I think we have the advantage at 135."

When asked if he and his client would consider having the fight at 145 pounds, Harvey wasn't entirely closed to the idea. Ultimately, Rousey has the final decision, Harvey said, and although he would advise against moving up in weight, it's something they would have to consider.

South Korean Prehistory Museum, Or Giant Cyborg Worm Monster?

Almost 2 million years ago, mankind began experimenting with stone tools. Sometime around then, an early human dropped (or was buried with) a hand axe. Now, where this very first Acheulian hand axe was discovered in South Korea, X-TU Architects have built a massive snake-like structure for the Jeongok Prehistory Museum.

If youre wondering what it all means, realize that the museum is a prime example of parametric architecture, groundbreaking, computer-enabled design that champions form as much as function. The polished steel shell undulates with a rare architectural freedom, and its been algorithmically perforated to allow natural light in. The museum is corporeal software, glimmering in metallic flesh.

So what I see (beyond the obvious time-traveling worm monster sent from prehistory to devour modern civilization) is a juxtaposition of ancient intelligence with the most modern building design processes we have, the future built right above the past. Painstaking labor is giving way to creative automation. Mankinds most wicked tool, the computer, is beginning to build a world itself.

No one should have any sympathy for Cris "Cyborg" Justino.

From violently demolishing over-matched opponents to years of suspected drug use, the former Strikeforce women's featherweight champion has dug her own grave.

Quite frankly, it's disgusting that the UFC is even entertaining the idea of signing Cyborg to a catchweight superfight with Ronda Rousey. Once again, Dana White is chasing the biggest payoff possible while not considering the long term.

Despite the fact that Rousey has only been in the MMA game for little more than two years, the Olympic bronze medalist has almost undone all the damage caused to the women's division by Cyborg's lengthy reign.

By that token alone, the burden should be on Cyborg to cut down to 135 pounds, not for Rousey to meet her in the middle.

Oh, but it gets betterCyborg's excuses for not wanting (or being able) to cut weight are as varied as they are convenient.

Rousey's just scared she'll get beaten up. Cyborg's frame is naturally too big to safely trim down. Ronda's been dominant at 145 pounds before. A paltry 10 pounds shouldn't be such a big deal.

And most recently, Cyborg's newest angle is that the weight cut could potentially damage her ability to give birth, according to the latest word from MMA Weekly. Justino still wants to have a child one day, so the UFC and athletic commissions should relent and let her fight at "Cyborgweight."

Well, that's too bad.

Like it or not, Cyborg's case would be more understandable if she wasn't a doppelganger for Lou Ferrigno's thumb. But Justino dug her own grave the minute she tested positive for anabolic steroids and subsequently got herself suspended.
