This should go without saying, but it needs to be said regarding brain hacks backed by science: dont take anything for granted. Not even science. Science changes every day. Research changes all the time. Dont make the same mistake that theists make. Dont believe in the research. Research it. Think about it. Tear it apart. Re-imagine it. Who knows? Maybe youll discover something that puts the research in this article out to pasture.

I have been a reader of the I Ching (pronounced E Ching) since about 2012 and have found it to be full of wisdom and guidance for achieving higher consciousness, particularly in challenging times. If you arent familiar with it, it is a book, but also an oracle. Like any other oracle reading, hold in your mind the question you want to ask or the guidance you seek as you perform the reading.

Soros also said that giants like Facebook and Google should be looked at as public utilities, calling for government regulation of the platforms, a move which would completely solidify political control over the a vast majority of content on the internet. As it is, the censorship we see emerging today is motivated by corporate elites, however regulating these companies would introduce federal control over content as well. An Orwellian nightmare.

Shouldnt we taxpayers get to see the missiles, warheads, tanks, drones, guns and other warfare hardware that over half of federal discretionary spending goes toward every year? Our tax dollars at work! But then, to have equal time, there should be a parade of homeless veterans, illiterate children getting poor education in our schools, people without health care, and would-be workers who cant get jobs to help build the green economy, in order to represent the urgent domestic and environmental investments crowded out by our obsession with shoveling money into making things that go boom.

By combining these 3 ingredients you will be able to reach the level of success that youve dreamed of, but perhaps didnt truly believe was possible. There is magic in this combination which is why I call it success alchemy. If any one of these 3 ingredients is omitted, the level of success you can achieve will be limited.

Sheila Gautreaux Highlights Importance of Forgiveness | Benzinga – Benzinga

New book brims with insights how readers can traverse endure The Long Journey Home'

HOUSTON, TX (PRWEB) August 17, 2017

In the "The Long Journey Home" (published by Balboa Press), author Sheila Gautreaux offers a fresh look at one of the most powerful parables in the Biblethe Prodigal Sonas man's personal journey of evolution in consciousness. This book revolves around its central theme that forgiveness holds the key to reawakening love, peace and connection for all humanity.

"The Long Journey Home" takes a fresh look at one of the most widely-recognized and most frequently interpreted of the many parables taught by Jesus during his ministry. Using the process of metaphysical interpretation, along with the concepts of conscious evolution and quantum science, the Prodigal Son emerges from a great story about coming home and forgiveness to an exploration into how life experiences are valuable teaching points and may provide powerful catalysts for quantum shifts in consciousness.

The book helps readers make sense of the challenges, struggles and detours that define people's paths as they attempt to live and grow in a world that appears to keep them from finding the safe haven they seek from birth that inner sense of "home." What it seeks to highlight is that, "our painful experiences do not have to destroy us; that they are not happening "to" us but are happening "for" us to awaken us to the tremendous power within us to heal our lives."

An excerpt from the book: "The key to successfully living in this world of polar opposites is remembering that God exists within the light and the dark; that there is only God, only Truth, and all else is but a hoax perpetrated by our ego for its own glorification. Awareness is focused attention to the details of lifethe messages, spiritual meaning and lessons within everything around us and everything that happens to us. By recognizing that everything happens for a reasonhappens not to us but for uswe use life as a tool for conscious evolution and the route to home."

"The Long Journey Home" By Sheila Gautreaux Softcover | 6 x 9in | 162 pages | ISBN 9781504368704 E-Book | 162 pages | ISBN 9781504368797 Available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble

Living Your Life in a Turbulent World

Paula and Alana Green are a mother-and-daughter team who, in 2014, found themselves paring down their possessions and beginning a journey that they later described as a Soul-Journ. Paula was 55 at the time and Alana 15.

After living a year in Australia, New Zealand and Bali, they have recently returned to the Verde Valley where Alana was born and they lived for 15 years.

We had an idea and a couple of intentions with our adventure but really no clue how it would unfold or who and what circumstances we would encounter says Paula, but as we kept following our hunches and trusting our gut instincts, we began to see a pattern unfolding as to where we were being led.

Many people told them during their travels, how significant it was for them to hear about a mother and daughter taking this endeavor together. They were invited to a 3-part radio interview in Melbourne, Australia that you may hear at their Soul-Journ page on Facebook.

After re-entering the American culture in November of 2016, a time of great upheaval, they felt a commitment to share and host conversations around many of the insights they discovered about community, family, young people, parent/child relationships, Indigenous, environment and consciousness.

Alana, today at 18 years: When I was a little girl, I dreamed of a community and future where people helped each other. Everything was interconnected. At the time, I was too scared to share that dream because I was afraid that it would never come true. However, since I have had that dream, I have seen evolution take turns like a river flowing ever more upward. And with each resolution, and revolution, the process goes faster and faster. I think the maturity we have reached compared to twenty years ago is astounding. The only question now is, what do we do with the gained information and maturity?

Join Paula and Alana at the Cottonwood Public Library on Saturday, August 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Library Meeting Room B. Some of the topics to be discussed include coping with disaster, tragedy and the unknown, how to incorporate conscious evolution and action, the differences between consciousness and action-oriented people, how thought translates into action and the changing environments around us. All members of the public are invited to join in the discussion. The Library is located at 100 S 6th St in Cottonwood.

KABAKA PYRAMID + One-A-Chord & DJ Spleece – SantaCruz.com

Keron "Kabaka Pyramid" Salmon is a multi-talented artist and producer hailing from the streets of Kingston, Jamaica with a unique musical style blending the power, energy and melody of Reggae with the lyricism of Hip hop. He is based out of the Bebble Rock Music camp and through his liquid and hypnotizing delivery spreads the positive messages of spirituality and conscious evolution that forces you to listen.

The name "Kabaka" is Ugandan for "King" and the long lasting survival of the Pyramids of ancient Africa represent his desire for longevity in the music and deep connection to Kemetic roots; leaving messages for generations to come.

He is an ever-evolving artist that has numerous ways of expressing his creativity. The ability to watch and learn from others around him has made him into somewhat of a Jack-of-all-trades, writing lyrics, producing tracks, engineering/recording himself or other artists, mixing songs, editing video/photos and even playing the guitar!

His passion for music began at an early age when he would change the lyrics to popular songs and record his own version on his mother's tape recorder. What began as a humorous venture was actually a stepping-stone for the artist we know today. Reggae music has always been a strong influence on the Kingstonian lyricist with Sizzla Kalongi and Peter Tosh providing a great source of spiritual inspiration in his life. During high school Hip Hop music also captivated him; reciting his favorite Canibus lines constantly with Nas and Common serving as great examples of the success of conscious music. The influence of both genres can be easily detected as he seeks to find the perfect fusion of the two cultural expressions.

Kabaka spent his early years as a rapper to underground success. He was awarded a place on internationally renowned; Dj Green Lantern's "Myspace Invasion" Mixtape as well as released two Mixtapes for himself The Transition Vol 1 and 2 and a collaboration album Bebble Business as part of the Bebble Team group dedicated to his fallen brother in music Rap Brown (Taiwo McKenzie). With these projects he cemented himself as an artist with deep spiritual messages and proven lyrical ability and was instrumental in raising the bar on the standard of Hip Hop in Jamaica.

Pyramid also released a few reggae and dancehall tracks including Carry on and Never be the same and achieved chart success in Bermuda with the track "Love is all I see" featuring Ashanti. Also as a producer he saw chart success in the Bahamas for Dead Man Walking.

In July 2011 Kabaka Pyramid released his Rebel Music EP free to the public at http://www.kabakapyramid.bandcamp.com. This project is a fusion of roots rock, reggae, dancehall and hip-hop and made waves in the global landscape, particularly Europe and North America. It has received an overwhelming worldwide response gaining homepage features on websites and magazines such as Reggaeville and United Reggae and gaining over 14,000 downloads with the 10-track CD regarded as a classic in its own right.

Kabaka has since achieved top spot, placing #1 on the BILLBOARD Next Big Sound Charts Worldwide and also been featured by the popular music conglomerate MTV Iggy. A solid global fan-base has developed that connects with the messages in his music.

He has been awarded breakthrough artist of the year 2013 by the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association and was also nominated for Song of the year 2013. The lyricist has also been nominated for best reggae recording 2013 by Canadas highly respected Juno Awards. This follows up a successful 2012 where he was nominated by the Jamaica Star for Break-through artist of the year and named by Popular New York Publication Largeup.com as in the top 10 Caribbean artists to watch . He had also been tipped by the Jamaica Gleaner as one of the top 4 (four) artists to watch in that year.

Releasing singles such as Free from Chains, No Capitalist, Mi Alright, and King Kabaka as well as music videos for the popular Free from Chains, King Kabaka, High and Windy, Warrior featuring Protoje and World Wide Love; he has achieved regular rotation on local and international airwaves. Kabaka is being touted by many as strong part of a new wave of powerful artists coming out of Jamaica.

In 2013 Kabaka embarked on his 9 country 20 show Rebel Music Tour performing on major reggae festivals spanning from the US West Coast to Europe. He has brought his message and power to stages such as Reggae on the River, Rototom Sunsplash and the Chiemsee Reggae Festival. He has certainly developed a solid global fan-base that connects with his music.

He has also performed in Toronto, Canada at the Manifesto Arts Festival and travelled to Costa Rica for the Rebel Musik Fest series of shows to great response from the people. 2012 was his first visit to Europe completing his 6-week, 13 show "Ready fi di Road " tour where he headlined sold-out club shows in Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Netherlands and Switzerland.

Locally; Pyramid has graced the stage of major local concerts such as Rebel Salute, Trench Town Rock and the Dennis Brown Tribute Concert as well as live national TV performances to rave reviews. He has made a significant impact on the Live Music scene performing at many shows in and around Kingston including the Manifesto Jamaica Festival, JARIA Reggae Month and Live from Kingston shows as well as venues such as Tracks and Records, South Beach Caf, Emancipation Park, Wickie Wackie and Pulse.

His new EP Lead the Way released in November 2013 has been making waves in the reggae industry debuting at #9 on the Billboard charts. He also featured in the Top ten iTunes reggae charts all over the globe building on his success earlier in the year where he achieved top spot, placing #1 on the BILLBOARD Next Big Sound Charts.

With a mission to steer future generations towards harmony and unity Kabaka is primed and focused on bringing a righteous and conscious way of thinking to the masses through Reggae and Hip Hop Music.

With a solid list of skills not only in the booth but on the mixing board, and an array of lyrics that preach a message of love, self-awareness and African pride, Kabaka Pyramid is well on his way to a career that should not only lead to greatness but also lead a lot of fans to righteousness Aesthetics Now Mag.

Talk About INDEPENDENCE. We just divorced, yet get along better than ever! – The Good Men Project (blog)

Question: Coach Allana, my wife and I just signed divorce papers. Now, were getting along better than ever! Should we have gotten the divorce? Is it possible being free from each other is making us want each other more?

Answer: Isnt independence curious? We certainly dont want codependent relationships or to be controlled or dominated by anyone, yes? And yet once weve become solid on our own, solid independently, whats next in our conscious evolution is interdependent relationships where we each contribute to one another and the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

It sounds like in your marriage there wasnt a sense of freedom with in the partnership. Perhaps there werent spacious non judgmental conversations about what it would take for each of you to be thriving independently so you could come together interdependently.

Perhaps one or both of you gave away your time with your girlfriends or guyfriends. Perhaps once you began to live under the same roof, old limiting beliefs or negative programming or cellular memories or images imprinted into your mind flashed up to the surface triggering each other. Perhaps you didnt have the skills to move through challenges with success during the marriage, bringing you closer ever time. Perhaps you never learned about intimacy rituals or healthy communication patterns so that it was safe to be vulnerable and honest together.

And now that youre divorced and getting along better than ever making you want each other even more it seems were back to the core place that attracted you to one another. This is great but dont think just by getting back together everything will be fine! The old patterns have not been healed! The sabotaging mechanisms have not been healed! Its simply youve taken the foot off the gas and youre coasting in a bigger bubble of spaciousness But is soon as you get back into gear living under one roof, the issues will rise again. Promise. And perhaps worse given all youve been through with the divorce, too.

My recommendation would be to have a clear look at whats going on: youre attracted to one another and have the capacity to get along when theres a sense of freedom and honor and spaciousness. Marriage the old way didnt work. What WOULD it take for a relationship to work together? The next step would be to do the inner work and gain the communication skills so that you could thrive in a relationship again whether thats officially marriage or cohabitating.

I literally have one couple that I coach who unknowinglgy haphazardly blended two families with 6 teenagers together. As you an imagine it combusted into a legal separation with tremendous shame and judgment from family and friends. However during the separation period they found me. I worked with each of them separately and together while they lived separately. They actually realized they parented quite differently and each enjoyed their downtime away from each other substantially. Thus living a few blocks away from one another was perfect for now. Coming back together meant some forgiveness work, a new solid deal in place, new courageous communication rituals and a boat load of patience.

This past month their last child graduated from high school and is off to college. Theyve already put their house on the market and found a beautiful lake property to retire two together They are living beyond other peoples judgments of their non traditional marriage and theyre happier than ever.

Bottom line if they hadnt been willing to do the inner work and learn how to communicate effectively together, separation wouldve led to divorce. Yet because they were willing to sit in the fire and look inside and do the deep work that I take my clients through now they are happier than ever, kind of like high school kids to be honest! The sex is incredible, the communication is honest and theres a sense of vulnerability, safety and connection theyve never had before.

If youre a 10 out of 10 ready to roll up your sleeves and do this type of transformational work with your I guess shes your ex-wife Why dont we call her your beloved If youre ready to do this work with your beloved and would like to see if youre a fit to be invited to work with me I would be thrilled to see your application in my inbox!

Surprise: People Who Claim They Don’t Eat or Drink Are Probably Liars – ATTN:

This month a British tabloid published a story about Akahi Ricardo and Camila Castillo, a self-styled "breatharian" couple who claimed they have "barely eaten for the last nine years" and are "sustained solely by the energy of the universe."

The couple spoke of how they "have survived on little else besides a piece of fruit or vegetable broth just 3 times per week" over the last decade. At one point, they claimed, they went three years without eating or drinking anything. Claiming "humans can easily be without foodas long as they are the connected to the energy that exists in all things and through breathing," the duo are portrayed as living only on light and air, whilepossessing an "understanding [of] cosmic nourishment (not just physical nourishment) and living without limits.

Castillo even claimed that she carried two children while staying breatharian, knowing her "son would be nourished enough by my love and this would allow him to grow healthily in my womb."

Like many outrageous medical woo stories, the Sun's tale was picked up by other tabloids, including the New York Post, and fringe alternative medicine websites, all of which re-printedRicardo and Castillo's claims without contrasting them with basic science.

New definition for "dangerous" and "bullshit" = this story, which cites 0 experts & promotes a concept that'd kill: https://t.co/SP2uM6emBs

If anyonehad checked, they'd quickly learn that the couple's claims defy everything we know about how both thermodynamics and the human body work. Their claims fall under the logical fallacy known as "special pleading," or asking for an unwarranted exception to established knowledge.

The couple's claim of going "three years" without eating or drinking violates every known principle of human nutrition and physiology. The maximum amount of time a person can go without water is aboutthree or four days, and aroundthree weekswithout food.

Unsurprisingly, Ricardo and Castillo aren't the first people to claim they live a "breatharian" lifestyle, subsisting only on the life-giving energy of the universe, as opposed to food and drink like the rest of us suckers.

It's bullshit and free viral publicity for a dude who sells, amongst other crap, 8 days of video calls for $500. Breatharian my arse. pic.twitter.com/Ql1Ev0wEeL

In March, Broadly profiled two of what they described as "thousands" of breatharians who say they are sustained only be energy and occasional liquids. And a Ukrainian model gained a reputation as a "human Barbie doll" for her many plastic surgeries andoutlandish claim that she subsists only on "air and light" in her effort to become "the most perfect woman on the internet."

It's incredibly dangerous, these stories: multiple people have died from trying to live breatharian beliefs.A teacher inScotland, a mother of nine inAustralia, and another person in Switzerlandhave all died grizzly deaths from starvation while attempting to subsist on light and air.

Beatharianism comes with a grab bag of religious tenets, taking bits fromIndian mysticism, Hinduism, andBuddhism, and combining them with pseudoscientific concepts like sungazing (staring directly at the sun). It's a favorite of self-styled gurus who have gotten rich off people seeking mystical enlightenment, all of whom have failed to prove their claims.

The foremost practicitioner, an Australian woman who goes by "Jasmuheen," haswritten a slew of books about living off light, but has failed to demonstrate her abilities in several filmed attempts. Indeed, she was found to have a refrigerator full of food in her home.

Another guru, Wiley Brooks, calls himself the "founder of breatharianism." He sells breatharian workshops ad was interviewed on the Tom Snyder Show in 1981. He alsowas caught buying Twinkeesat a 7-11, and has concocted an elaborate mythology that allows him to eat cheeseburgers and Diet Coke while simultaneously living off air and light.

Yet another, an Indian mystic named Hira Ratan Manek, runs a "solar healing center" and claims to obtain all of his nutrition by staring at the sun. He was caught by a documentary crew eating at a restaurant in San Francisco.

It's here thatAkahi Ricardo and Camila Castillobear a second look, because they too are monetizing their fringe beliefs, which they may not actually believe.

Ricardo's website hawks books, DVDs, $1,000 tickets to week-long retreats, and video courses, all of which promise to "correct damaged DNA, generate and rejuvenate emotional, mental and physical well-being, regulate the oxygen intake in the body and align the nervous system in the best interest of the overall health of human body."

Likewise, Castillo has a website called "Pranic Woman" where she sells video courses and books about "conscious evolution" and "living on light." The only hint from either that none of this has the slightest evidence to support it is a brief disclaimer on Castillo's sitethat what she sells is "for information purposes only." Ricardo, however, claims his program is "scientifically proven."

After exposing the Sun's story as having originated with a British content company, CNN contacted the duo to follow up. Ricardo stood by all of his ridiculous claims, saying the exposure has led to "thousands" of people contacting him. He reiterated that "we all know the air is light. We all know there is energy in nature. So there's no way this can be dangerous."

The people who have died from breatharianism were unavailable for comment.

Native Americans are getting cheated again by a white president … – Los Angeles Times

To the editor: I am a Japanese American who was born at the Manzanar internment camp during World War II, so although I am not a Native American, I can empathize with them in their betrayal by the federal government over the Bears Ears National Monument proclamation. (Shrinking Utah's Bears Ears National Monument would be one more broken promise to Native Americans, Opinion, June 19)

The Trump administrations plan to shrink the Utah monument, one that native communities worked with the Obama administration to create in 2016, fits into a pattern of broken treaties by the federal government against many Native American nations throughout U.S. history.

The push westward and the establishment of communities by white settlers supported militarily by the U.S. government resulted in the killing and forced evacuation of Native American nations. It took a black president to establish Bears Ears, and now a white president and a white Interior secretary want to scale it back.

To the editor: I am optimistic that the people of Utah will continue to evolve in the understanding of their shared history of Bears Ears National Monument. There is a sacred history in Utah that is not smeared with hate and should be valued beyond extraction of resources.

Im betting on conscious evolution.

Rossco announces publication of New-Dimensional Thought Technology'

KOBE, Japan (PRWEB) June 09, 2017

In his new book, "New-Dimensional Thought Technology: The Dawning of a New Civilization" (published by Balboa Press), Rossco presents his self-development program Miross to help readers to achieve inner peace and create a society of "absolute peace."

"Civilization seems to be reaching a deadlock and it appears to be on the point of dissolution," Rossco says. "Humanity stands at a crossroads and the time has come for us to truly awaken and realize that we cannot end human sufferings or bring about true peace with existing or conventional approaches, no matter how much we try."

Rossco says that by following the system he offers in "New-Dimensional Thought Technology," one can evolve one's consciousness and transform one's life. Unlike traditional solutions to problems in such areas as finances, work, relationships or health which Rossco says have proven "superficial and ineffective" his book "provides real answers addressing the roots of problems" and "demystifies the traps that humans have fallen into," allowing readers to escape these traps and achieve "absolute peace."

An excerpt from "New-Dimensional Thought Technology": A radical turnaround awaits humanity. It begins by grasping the greatest deception the world has played on us: the trap of reversal. The world we see before us is all reversed. Thus not a single thing we have seen is true. If our lives have not gone well, that is only natural. But we needn't remain stuck in the world of reversal. Once we recognize this, we can escape it.

"New-Dimensional Thought Technology" By Rossco Hardcover | 5.5 x 8.5 in | 110 pages | ISBN 9781504365635 Available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble

About the Author Rossco is the founder and president of Miross Institute and the creator of Miross, a New Thought system developed through 30 years of research. Together with his wife, Midori, he is dedicated to introducing Miross to the world as "the ultimate measure of conscious evolution with the capacity to eliminate all problems and create a society of absolute peace." He and his wife live in Kobe, Japan.

Modi supports yoga at Lord Shiva bust unveiling – Easterneye (press release) (subscription)

Indias prime minister Narendra Modi urged people to embrace the age-old practice of yoga, saying that rejecting an idea because it is ancient could be potentially harmful.

Yoga is constantly evolving, the prime minister said as he unveiled a 112-foot statue of Adiyogi, Lord Shiva, on the occasion of Mahashivratri at the Isha foundation in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu last Friday (24).

As a tribute to Adiyogi, Modi lit the sacred fire to commence the Maha Yoga Yagna across the world. He urged one million people to take an oath to teach a simple form of yoga to at least 100 other people each over the course of the following 12 months, so that 100 million additional people practised yoga by Mahashivratri next year.

Yoga is ancient yet modern, constant yet evolving, but the essence of yoga has not changed. It is important to preserve this essence, Modi said.

A brainchild of spiritual leader Jaggi Vasudev Sadhguru, the statue showcases Shivas contribution as Adiyogi.

It is essential that the next generations of people on this planet are seekers, not believers. As philosophies, ideology, belief systems that dont stand the test of logic and the scientific verification will naturally collapse in coming decades, you will see the longing for liberation will rise. When that longing rises, Adiyogi and the science of yoga will become very important, Sadhguru said.

During his visit to the Isha Foundation ashram, Modi took part in the Pancha Bhuta Aradhana, a yogic process of cleansing. He also visited the shrines of Dhyanalinga and the Linga Bhairavi.

The tallest bust of its kind, the height of Adiyogis face is symbolic of the 112 possibilities he explored for human beings to reach their ultimate potential, besides scientifically representing the 112 chakras of the human system.

Sadhguru said: For the first time in the history of humanity, Adiyogi introduced the idea that the simple laws of nature are not permanent restrictions. If one is willing to strive, one can go beyond all limitations and attain liberation, moving humanity from assumed stagnation to conscious evolution.

But, it also has a scientific significance there are 112 chakras in the human system, with which you can work, to explore 112 dimensions of life. In pursuit of the divine, you dont have to look up because it is not somewhere else. Each of the 112 possibilities is a method to experience the divine within you. You just have to pick one.

The statue was designed by Sadhguru over a period of two and a half years, and built over the next eight months by the foundations in-house team. Sadhguru also expressed a desire to place similar statues of Adiyogi in the other three corners of the country.

Excerpts from Modis speech

Maha-Shivratri symbolises a union of divinity with a purpose, of overcoming darkness and injustice.

It inspires us to be courageous and fight for good. It marks the shift of seasons, from the cold to the lively spring and brightness.

From Somnath to Vishwanath, from Kedarnath to Rameshwaram and from Kashi to Coimbatore where we have gathered, Lord Shiva is everywhere.

Standing here before this 112-feet face of Adiyogi and the Yogeshwar Linga, we are experiencing a colossal presence enveloping everyone in this space.

In the times to come, the place where we have gathered is going to be a source of inspiration for all, a place to immerse ones self and discover truth.

Today, yoga has come a long way. This is the beauty of yoga it is ancient, yet modern, it is constant, yet evolving. The essence of yoga has not changed.

Yoga is the catalytic agent, ushering the transformation from Jiva to Shiva.

By practising yoga, a spirit of oneness is created oneness of the mind, body and the intellect. Oneness with our families, with the society we live in, with fellow humans, with all the birds, animals and trees with whom we share our beautiful planet this is yoga.

Yoga is the journey from me to we. Today, the whole world wants peace, not just peace from wars and conflict but peace of the mind. The burden of stress takes a heavy toll and one of the sharpest weapons to overcome stress is yoga.

There is ample evidence practising yoga helps combat stress and chronic conditions. If the body is a temple of the mind, yoga creates a beautiful temple.

That is why I call yoga a passport to health assurance. More than being a cure to ailments, it is a means to wellness.

Yoga is about Rog Mukti (freedom from diseases) as well as Bhog Mukti (desisting from worldly greed). Yoga makes the individual a better person in thought, action, knowledge and devotion.

It would be very unfair to see Yoga only as a set of exercises that keeps the body fit. You may see people twist and turn their bodies but they are not all yogis.

Yoga is far beyond physical exercises. Through Yoga, we will create a new yuga a yuga of togetherness and harmony.

The coming together of so many nations to mark the International Day of Yoga illustrates the real essence of yogatogetherness. Yoga has the potential to herald in a new yuga (a new era) a yuga of peace, compassion, brotherhood and allround progress of the human race.

Important to preserve the essence of yoga: PM Narendra Modi – Economic Times

COIMBATORE: Calling people to embrace the age-old practice of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said rejecting an idea because it is ancient could be "potentially harmful".

The Prime Minister, who recently unveiled a 112-foot statue of Adiyogi, Lord Shiva, on the occasion of Mahashivratri at the Isha foundation here, said Yoga is constantly evolving.

As a tribute to Adiyogi, he lit the sacred fire to commence the Maha Yoga Yagna across the world, under which he said,"1 million people will take an oath to teach a simple form of yoga to at least 100 people each in the coming year, and touch at least 100 million people before the next Mahashivaratri".

"Yoga is ancient yet modern, constant yet evolving, but the essence of yoga has not changed. It is important to preserve this essence," Modi said.

A brainchild of spiritual leader Jaggi Vasudev Sadhguru, the statue showcases Shiva's contribution as Adiyogi.

"It is essential that the next generations of people on this planet are seekers, not believers. As philosophies, ideology, belief systems that don't stand the test of logic and the scientific verification will naturally collapse in coming decades, you will see the longing for liberation will rise. When that longing rises, Adiyogi and the science of Yoga will become very important," Sadhguru said.

The Prime Minister also took stock of the sprawling precincts of the Isha Foundation's ashram, as he visited the 22-feet underground water body at the Suryakund that aims at the physical cleansing and balancing of the human body.

He participated in the Pancha Bhuta Aradhana by Sadhguru - a yogic process of cleansing the five elements of the human system - at the Dhyanalinga, a multi religious meditation shrine, followed by a visit to the Linga Bhairavi, a feminine shrine for physical, material and spiritual wellbeing.

The tallest bust of its kind, the height of Adiyogi's face is symbolic of the 112 possibilities he explored for human beings to reach their ultimate potential, besides scientifically representing the 112 chakras of the human system.

"For the first time in the history of humanity, Adiyogi introduced the idea that the simple laws of nature are not permanent restrictions. If one is willing to strive, one can go beyond all limitations and attain liberation, moving humanity from assumed stagnation to conscious evolution.

You just have to pick one," Sadhguru said.

The statue was designed by Sadhguru over a period of two-and-a-half years, and built over the next eight months by the foundation's in-house team, right in time for celebrating Shivratri.

Sadhguru also expressed a desire to place similar statues of Adiyogi in the other three corners of the country, "The eastern one will most likely be in Varanasi. For the north, it will be somewhere north of Delhi and for the western one, will be in Mumbai."
