As the most successful cryptocurrency of 2017, Ripple made quite a few people rich. Among them is the company’s co-founder: Chris Larsen.
Larsen was the company’s CEO before stepping down in November 2016. However, he continues to serve as Executive Chairman. He also owns 5.19 billion XRP, which, in conjunction with his 17% stake in Ripple, brings his net worth to $37.3 billion—according to Monday's data, when Ripple was trading at around $2.39.
