We knew we were in for a rough journey before we set off for Laos as we'd already been told it was 14 hours. We thought though that with a bit of comfort it might not be a problem. Unfortunately comfort was never on the cards. We started by getting picked up at half 7 from our hotel only to wait at the bus station until 10 with a bloke supposedly telling us when our bus got there. Our ticket had b
