PHL receives citations at 26th Korea World Travel Fair

DAVAO CITY The Philippines received Best in Booth Operations and Best in Folkloric Performance (Kalumon Performing Ensemble) citations at the close Sunday of the month-long 26th Korea World Travel Fair in Seoul, South Korea.

This was happily announced Sunday night by Art Boncato, Department of Tourism (DOT) regional director, through a Facebook conversation.

Boncato was part of the 30-man Davao delegation which formed part of the entire Philippine delegation to the travel fair, dubbed to be the largest in Korea which exhibits by domestic and international travel organizations, including airline companies, hotel and travel agencies.

He said during the fair, Davao had a special segment in a Philippine Tourism Product Presentation among 200 buyers and Davao cuisine was the highlight in the Philippine Food Festival at the Hilton Seoul.

Boncato said Davao-themed Philippine Independence Day celebration at the Philippine Embassy was also featured.

He said the Davao team also made a presentation in a Skal Club meeting with Dabawenya/Filipina-Korean Congresswoman Jasmine Bacurnay Lee as guest of honor.

He said hotels and travel agencies like the Pearl Farm Beach Resort, Park Inn by Radisson, Seda Hotel, The Ritz Garden Hotel, Davao Korean Association, Surelite Travel & Tours, Bloomers Travel & Tours, Chef Sau del Rosario and team and Kalumon Performing Ensemble also composed the Davao delegation.
