Pair sign deal to distribute 'world's most comfortable travel pillow'

Michael Corrigan and David Kellock, who first met when studying mechanical engineering at Strathclyde University and formed the company Trtl to market their sleepscarf, which will now be available in 22 Dixons Travel stores in airports across the UK. The pair are hoping to achieve a turnover well in excess of 1 million in the next year.

The deal follows hard on the heels of Trtl's deal with Dublin-based TNS distribution. Best known for its success with "Beats By Dre" headphones, TNS distributes in key outlets throughout the UK, Europe and Australia.

The culmination of about 90 prototype try-outs, sleepscarf is comprised of a springy and lightweight plastic discreetly embedded in a scarf-like garment. The product, which retails at around 25 and is available in several colours, has attracted rave reviews on popular ecommerce sites, with fans claiming to have experienced uninterrupted stretches of sleep on long-haul flights in economy class.

Corrigan said of the distribution deal: "This is a huge step for us as a brand as well as in terms of where we want to take this into 2015.

"Our dream is to create a global company that can really make a difference, and working with companies like TNS Distribution and Dixons is creating the foundation to do this."

Although the original 4000 Sleepscarf products were made in Glasgow and Carluke, the company has a consignment of 60,000 being manufactured in China.

The idea for the company came from a week-long business "bootcamp". Corrigan and Kellock needed an idea in order to attend, and were inspired by their recent uncomfortable travel abroad.

Former International Space Station commander Chris Hadfield has received an honorary patronage from Trinity College Dublin.

He was awarded a gold medal of honorary patronage by the University Philosophical Society in front of a packed Trinity College exam hall on Saturday morning.

Cmdr Hadfield is in Dublin to promote his book You Are Here - Around the World in 92 Minutes. He has book signings in Eason, OConnell Street, on Saturday and Dubray Books, Grafton Street and Eason, Dundrum Town Centre on Sunday.

You Are Here is a selection of 150 photographs selected from the 45,000 pictures he took while in space. The book is the No.1 hardback seller in the UK and all profits are going to the Red Cross.

Sifting through the photographs proved to be a mammoth task until his wife Helena came up with a methodology to deal with it.

I was thinking how could I choose from 45,000 pictures, he told Dave Fanning on RT 2fm on Saturday morning. She said picture that one of your friends is in the space station with you and what pictures would they want to see.

The book includes a picture of Ireland and Britain at night with the Northern Lights shimmering in the background. There are also pictures of the Nile Delta, the Himalayas, Venice and the Great Lakes.

Cmdr Hadfield is also in Dublin to do more promotion for Tourism Ireland.

Earlier this year he travelled the country making a series of videos on the Wild Atlantic Way, hurling and the Guinness Storehouse.

NASA interns create parody 'All About That Space'

A volunteer outreach video project created by NASA interns is "All About That Space."

The video, created by the Pathways Interns of NASA's Johnson Space Center, is a parody to Meghan Trainor's hit song "All About That Bass." They project was made to raise interest and excitement for Orion's first flight.

The lyrics and scenes in the video have been re-imagined in order to inform the public about the work going on at NASA and the Johnson Space Center.

Orion will serve as the exploration vehicle that will carry the crew to space, provide emergency abort capability, sustain the crew during the space travel, and provide safe re-entry from deep space return velocities.

"All About That Space" Lyrics:

Because you know Im all about that space Bout that space, space travel. Im all about that space Bout that space, space travel. Im all about that space Bout that space, space travel. Im all about that space Bout that space

Yeah, its pretty clear, I aint commercial crew But I can launch it, launch it Like Im supposed to do Cause I got that boom boom that all the Astros chase And all the space flight to all the right places

I see Orion crew workin that ship nonstop We know we goin far Now put that LAS on top If you got boosters boosters, just raise em up Cause every spacecraft needs propulsion From the bottom to the top

Hey, theyre working so hard, dont you love these NASA guys? They will take us so far the first time that Orion flies. You know we travellin to deep destinations fore to long, So if thats what youre into then join in and ride along.

Because you know Im All about that space Bout that space, space travel Im all about that space Bout that space, space travel Im all about that space Bout that space, space travel Im all about that space Bout that space Hey!

Red Sox Celebrate Christmas at Fenway Atop Santa's 'Naughty List'

Merry Christmas at Fenway on Saturday.

Select single-game tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, as well. Automated web pages are standing by.

Me thinks the virtual waiting room will like the drive-thru at Dunks at 3 in the morning. A quick in-and-out.

The Red Sox have been very naughty this year.

Much like the Grinch, they "stink, stank, stunk."

They were moving away from Santa's "Nice" list even before the 2014 season began. They discounted the value and worth of Jon Lester early and often. They mocked the Yankees and others for spending wildly, or as some may say, paying market value for players. They snookered us all into thinking they would be a playoff team for the second straight year.

Just back up the coal truck to Yawkey Way.

Meanwhile, we loaded up on 2013 World Series championship swag and 2014 tickets.

Ho-Ho-Hosed.

Things got far worse-than-expected once the games began. The team quickly found last place and stayed there for pretty much the entire season. State Run Media trumpeted each rare, coveted victory as the long-awaited "turnaround" that would right the Ship of Sox.
