Just some shots i filmed with my camera of my neighborhood in Barbados music by http://www.audiomicro.com and RPM networks Barbados (Listeni or /b #593;r #712;be #618;do #650;s/) is a sovereign island country in the Lesser Antilles. It is 34 kilometres (21 mi) in length and up to 23 kilometres (14 mi) in width, covering an area of 431 square kilometres (166 sq mi). It is situated in the western area of the North Atlantic and 100 kilometres (62 mi) east of the Windward Islands and the Caribbean Sea;[5] therein, it is about 168 kilometres (104 mi) east of the islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and 400 kilometres (250 mi) north-east of Trinidad and Tobago. Barbados is outside of the principal Atlantic hurricane belt. Barbados was initially visited by the Spanish around the late 1400s to early 1500s and first appears on a Spanish map from 1511.[6] The Spanish explorers may have plundered the island of whatever native peoples resided therein to become slaves.[6] The Portuguese visited in 1536, but they too left it unclaimed, with their only remnants being an introduction of wild hogs for a good supply of meat whenever the island was visited. The first English ship, the Olive Blossom, arrived in Barbados in 1624. They took possession of it in the name of the British king James I. Two years later in 1627 the first permanent settlers arrived from England and it became an English and later British colony.[7] Barbados has an estimated population of 284000 people,[8] with around 80000 living in or ...From:stockton millerViews:5 2ratingsTime:02:44More inTravel Events

Homes left in the wake of superstorm Sandy in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Photo: Mike Groll
To appreciate the delicate environment of the New Jersey barrier islands, think of something as fine as a long strand of tiny pearls running for miles along the coast.
Then think of the ferocious energy of superstorm Sandy; of whole houses floating in the water between the islands and the mainland and, even as late as today, of the 400 locals who sat out the storm now surrendering to evacuation by emergency crews.
The islands stretch north from Atlantic City almost as far as New York City. Evacuees who have straggled out from the islands have scattered, but about 200 of them who are hunkering in a shelter at Brigantine, three kilometres north of Atlantic City, were visited on Wednesday by President Barack Obama.
The suffering in this strip has been somewhat diminished, as attention is focused on the storm's colossal impact on millions in the nearby megapolis of New York.

But inspecting damage in the area, Mr Obama promised a co-ordinated federal-state effort to get people back in their homes as soon as possible and if that was not practical, to ensure they got alternative assistance.
Flanked by New Jersey's Republican governor Chris Christie, Mr Obama said that no help would be withheld. Assistance would include military ships and helicopters, now joining the recovery operation.
Where Sandy has not ruptured access roads to the islands (such as the broken bridge on the road from Manahawkin to Long Beach Island), police road blocks are preventing property owners from returning, possibly for days or weeks to come. Police are also turning away an inevitable parade of rubber-necking sightseers.
About 100 Atlantic City residents who had refused evacuation ahead of the storm gathered near the wreckage of the city's fabled boardwalk, hoping that their numbers might persuade Mr Obama to re-route the presidential helicopter in their direction.

It's done business the same way for over a hundred years, but change is finally coming to Bown's General Store on Change Islands.
Brothers Winston and Ralph Bown will soon close the store that's been in their family since the turn of the last century.
When they do, Change Islands will lose a lot more than just a place to shop.
CBC's Zach Goudie takes us there in this video.

The Government says it feels the proposed question is "the most appropriate question to be asked at this time".
Voters will be asked to answer "Yes" or "No" to the following question: "The current political status of the Falkland Islands is that they are an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom.
"The Islands are internally self-governing, with the United Kingdom being responsible for matters including defence and foreign affairs.
"Under the Falkland Islands Constitution the people of the Falkland Islands have the right to self-determination, which they can exercise at any time.
"Given that Argentina is calling for negotiations over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands, this referendum is being undertaken to consult the people regarding their views on the political status of the Falkland Islands.
"Should the majority of votes cast be against the current status, the Falkland Islands Government will undertake necessary consultation and preparatory work in order to conduct a further referendum on alternative options.
"Do you wish the Falkland Islands to retain their current political status as an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom?"
The Falkland Islands, a rocky archipelago in the South Atlantic, are 7,780 miles from the UK and 1,140 miles from Buenos Aires.
They have been under British control since 1833 apart from the brief but bitter 74 days of occupation in 1982.
Just over half of their population of 3,000 people are on the electoral roll and expected to take part in the vote.

The 2012 version of the South Oxnard rivalry would determine whether it was Channel Islands or Hueneme Vikings that ended its season with its first and only Pacific View League win.
Channel Islands came out the winner, as running back Richard Gray returned to action after being out for about a month and rushed the ball 23 times for 158 yards to lead a 24-20 win over visiting Hueneme.
"For him to come in and just dominate the game, as far as helping us maintain the ball the whole game, was very nice," Channel Islands head coach Gary Porter said of Gray's effort.
The Raiders also made some big plays throughout the game, such as a 71-yard touchdown pass from Ricky Estrada to Paul Vasquez and a 58-yard touchdown run by Aoese Oto in the fourth quarter.
Hueneme got a big effort from quarterback Adan Salas, who completed 23 of 37 passes for 209 yards, and running back Abner Melendez, who rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns while also catching six passes for 46 yards.
"That was a great effort by everybody," Hueneme head coach Brett Davis said. "They gave it all near the end and I couldn't be any prouder of this group."
Channel Islands (4-6, 1-4) led 17-7 at halftime and maintained its lead throughout the second half, thanks in large part to an efficient running game and a stingy defense that stopped Hueneme on several fourth downs.
Channel Islands had seemingly put the game away midway in the fourth quarter when Aoese Oto broke loose near the Raiders sideline for a 58-yard touchdown run with 7:25 remaining.
Hueneme (1-9, 0-5) went down swinging, scoring its second touchdown at 1:53 when Melendez's 1-yard run sealed a 13-play, 77-yard drive.
The Vikings then recovered a Raiders fumble at their 18-yard line and quickly took advantage.

"In the early 1950s human genetics experimentation was taking its first, tentative steps. Amongst many other black projects, a team of British scientists working at an Infinitum Research experimental station stumbled across some remarkable phenomena involving DNA manipulation. This led to deeper research with dangerously unpredictable results, often leading to human patients losing their lives in irresponsible and immoral experiments. Time passed on, and by the mid 1990s the failure rate of the experiments had been reduced from 75% to a mere 15%, enough for Infinitum to move onto the next stage Biological Light Refraction. The British team were hoping to unravel the possibilities of light manipulation to create the perfect covert military agent. Early into the new millennium, due to a gross miscalculation, a series of tests on Subject 617 led to a massive synaptic trauma leaving the patient with multiple genetic anomalies. The subject was left in constant pain and with unstable DNA. The subject escaped captivity, killing anyone that got in its way. The IRIS (Infinitum Research Interception Squad) team have been deployed to return the subject to a maximum security Infinitum Research facility for further study and dissection. The entire project was considered a failure: all funding ceased and development was discontinued while all records and traces of the experiments ...From:SeaNannersViews:96656 0ratingsTime:03:31More inGaming

Presidential Candidates Debate 10/17/00
In the third and final debate sponsored by the Commission on Presidential Debates, presidential candidates debated in a town-hall format, with both candidates taking questions from an audience of undecided voters chosen by the Gallup organization. The debate opened with a moment of silence to mark the death of Missouri Governor Carnahan. In sometimes antagonistic exchanges the candidates addressed various issues including health care, tax cuts, education, and Affirmative Action. Both tended to agree, however, on policy toward the Middle East. From:Lord RothschildViews:0 0ratingsTime:01:34:56More inNews Politics

Heidi for North Dakota - Should Not
Women #39;s health care. Domestic violence. Spousal benefits. There are real differences between Heidi Heitkamp and Rick Berg that women should know about. Rick Berg voted against requiring insurance companies to cover contraception. He voted to make abortion a crime in cases of rape and incest. Rick Berg even voted to allow mothers to be prosecuted for abortion. But it gets worse. Rick Berg voted to let insurance companies call domestic violence a pre-existing condition. He voted against funding for domestic violence shelters and even against helping children of domestic violence. And, yes, believe it or not ... it gets worse still. Rick Berg was the only representative out of a hundred and three legislators to against extending survivor benefits to veterans #39; spouses. Rick Berg was the only one who said no benefits for widows of slain soldiers. It #39;s appalling. Rick Berg should not be our senator.From:NorthDakotaWayViews:58 0ratingsTime:01:01More inNews Politics
