Freedom and Riordan Agree on Contract Extension

November 19, 2012 - Frontier League (FL) Florence Freedom FLORENCE, KY - The Florence Freedom and field manager Fran Riordan have come to 3-year contract extension that will carry through the 2015 season.

Last season in his second year as Freedom skipper, Riordan helped guide the team to its first ever playoff appearance since the franchise has been in Florence ('04).

"There was no question going into this off-season that we wanted Fran back as our manager," Freedom president Clint Brown said. "He knows how to win in our league and is one of the most respected individuals in the Frontier League. We're happy to have him leading our club for the next three years."

The skipper and the Freedom narrowly missed out on winning a Frontier League championship last year after falling in the Frontier League championship series. Riordan, who makes his offseason home with his wife and three children in Buffalo, New York, looks forward to taking the next step in 2013.

"I am very excited to be a part of the Florence Freedom for the next 3 years," Riordan said. "The Freedom organization and the fans have been so good to me and my family for the last two years, it is an honor to be back. Clint has shown confidence that I am the person that can bring a Championship team to Florence and I look forward to proving him right."

The Freedom's 57 wins last year boosted Riordan's all-time wins mark to 553 as a Frontier League manager, most all-time.

Fans can follow Riordan's roster moves all off-season on FlorenceFreedom.com. The Freedom open the 2013 season at home on May 16 against the River City Rascals.

I don #39;t do many videos like this, but I couldn #39;t pass up sharing this with everyone. Marketing strategies and tactics notwithstanding, I felt the word play was kinda going over board. I #39;m not concerned with the ads headline, but rather with the tagline. "Cheers to that", seems a brazen attitude taken by Old Navy, about the subject of Armageddon, and seems to suggest that they are happy about it. Also note the blatant reference to #39;Nibiru #39;..
