Everett 2, Medicine Hat 1

TALKING POINTS

The game has been over for about an hour-and-a-half, I'm sitting here in the press area at Comcast Arena, and I'm still trying to figure out how Everett won this game.

Frankly, the Tips didn't play a very well tonight. Everett looked sluggish and was not sharp in any aspect of the game. Medicine Hat outworked and outskated the Tips throughout. The final shot discrepancy was 41-18 in favor of the Tigers, and the game was every bit as one-sided as that shot total suggests.

But it was Daniel Cotton to the rescue for the Tips. Everett's back-up goaltender hadn't started a game in 11 days. But the Tips needed Cotton to be special tonight, and Cotton answered the bell. He had what I'd describe as a Kent Simpson type of performance. He didn't make much in the way of the spectacular highlight-reel stops, but he was always in the right position for the save.

Both Everett goals were scored by Carson Stadnyk, who had one goal in 24 games coming into the night. It was good to see something break right for the 17-year-old rookie, who has the ability to be a point producer. Everett coach Mark Ferner said something interesting following the game. Stadnyk and fellow rookie Ty Mappin have been playing on a line with overager Landon Oslanski, who has moved from defense to forward to alleviate Everett's shortage up front. Ferner said Oslanski has been very good for Stadnyk and Mappin because he pushes them to be better, but is supportive in the process. Oslanski, by the way, continues to look pretty darn good as a forward.

Meanwhile, Medicine Hat seemed to be lacking the cutting edge in front of goal. I think it's safe to say the Tigers missed injured star winger Hunter Shinkaruk tonight.

So a three-in-three weekend, which seemed headed for disaster for Everett following Friday night's debacle in Victoria, turned into four points for the Tips. Did anyone see that coming?

TURNING POINT

It seemed Everett's luck had run out when Medicine Hat's Curtis Valk tied it at 1-1 on the power play midway through the third period. However, the Tips somehow found a way to put another puck in the net, Oslanski winning a puck battle in the corner and feeding it out front, where a cutting Stadnyk redirected it under Tigers goalie Cam Lanigan for the game winner.

Plica of the Knee is Now Being treated with Regenerative Medicine at the Center for Regenerative Medicine

"Plica of the knee is now being treated with regenerative medicine at the Center for Regenerative Medicine," according to Dr. Farshchian, an orthopedic regenerative practitioner at the Center for Regenerative Medicine.

(PRWEB) November 20, 2012

Plica (pronounced PLI-KAH) is the remnant synovial tissue and a thin wall of fibrous tissue that are extensions of the synovial capsule of the knee. During embryonic stage, the knee is divided into three separate compartments. As the fetus develops these compartments develop into one large protective cavity (which is the same as synovial membrane). Most often the plica is on the medial (inside) of the knee at the level of the medial femoral condyle. Most individuals are not adversely affected by the presence of plicas. It could be inflamed by overuse or injury. Injury, chronic overuse, or inflammatory conditions are associated with development of this syndrome.

This syndrome typically produces pain and swelling, a clicking sensation, locking and weakness of the knee is possible as well. Since the symptoms are similar to symptoms of some other knee problems such as arthritis, meniscus tear or ligament injuries, Plica syndrome usually is not part of diagnostic differentials and it may lead to further surgeries and possible total knee replacement diagnosis could be confirmed after all the other knee related entities is ruled out.

U.S.A. based physician, Dr. Farshchian is a medical author, humanitarian, and active republican member. He is best known for coining the term "orthopedic regenerative medicine". Dr. Farshchian is recognized as a leading authority in the new clinical science of regenerative medicine. He is also a Television personality, currently hosting "The Arthritis Show".

The Center for Regenerative Medicine in Miami, Florida concentrates on helping arthritic and injured people to get back to a functional level of life and their activities using non-surgical techniques and Orthopedic medicine. The center's expertise is in treatment of conditions of spine, knees , shoulders , and other cartilage damages. They have developed non-surgical and rehabilitation techniques focused on treatment and management of joint pain. Silvertips find a way to beat Medicine Hat

Published: Sunday, November 18, 2012, 10:10 p.m.

Goaltender Daniel Cotton produced a stellar effort just when the Tips needed it most, and Everett came away with an unlikely 2-1 victory over Medicine Hat at Comcast Arena.

Everett was on the back heel throughout Sunday's game, getting outshot 41-18. But Carson Stadnyk scored twice, including the game winner with less than eight minutes remaining, and the Tips somehow made the lead stand up.

"Well, let's just say there's no pictures on the scoresheet," Everett coach Mark Ferner said. "We probably didn't have a lot of business winning that game, but the kids found a way, and that's an important thing. And our goaltending was real good tonight."

The Tips (9-14-0-2) owe a big debt of gratitude to Cotton. Everett looked like a team gassed from playing its third game in three days nights, getting outskated and out worked by the Tigers. But Cotton, starting for the first time in 11 days, was there to pick up the slack. Cotton didn't have many spectacular highlight-reel stops among his 40, but he was always in the right position to make the save.

"I was feeling comfortable," said Cotton, who also credited his teammates for clearing rebounds and blocking shots. "The more you play the more comfortable you get. I hadn't started in a few games so I just focused a lot and did my best to keep things simple."

Curtis Valk scored the lone goal for Medicine Hat (11-13-1-0), which dropped its fourth straight. Cam Lanigan stopped 16 shots in net for the Tigers.

Sunday's victory completed a dramatic turnaround for the Tips in their three-in-three weekend. Everett's weekend seemed doomed for disaster following Friday night's 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Victoria, a game that saw the Tips lose captain Ryan Murray to a dislocated shoulder. But the Tips ended up taking four points away from the weekend, and Everett finds itself back in playoff position in eighth place in the WHL's Western Conference.

"Victoria was a tough trip for our group," Ferner said. "Then we came back and responded with a good effort against Vancouver (winning 6-5 Saturday), and in this situation we were outplayed pretty bad but found a way to win. Good teams find ways to win and hopefully that will turn a corner for us. We need to shore up some areas, no question. Hopefully a lot of it was sheer exhaustion from the travel. But I'm happy for the kids, they found a way to win two real important games for us."

Everett was holding on for dear life throughout the first two periods, despite Stadnyk giving the Tips the lead midway through the second. When the Tips began parading to the penalty box in the third, with Valk converting on a one-timer from the slot at 7 minutes, 34 seconds, it seemed Everett's luck was about to run out.
