January 16, 2014 - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Missouri Comets INDEPENDENCE, Missouri (January 14, 2013) - The Comets face a home-and-home series against the Milwaukee Wave this weekend, with the first leg on Friday, January 17th at the Independence Events Center. The Comets currently sit two games back of the Wave for the top spot in the MISL table.

The trend continues this year, as the teams have each found a victory in their two matchups so far. The Wave needed overtime to win the season opening match, but the Comets were able to overpower Milwaukee in their return trip on December 13th.

The Comets continue to lead the league in scoring, with 172 points scored in eleven games. Missouri has five players among the league's top 25 scorers, including Vahid Assadpour and Leo Gibson who rank #1 & #2 with 49 points and 40 points respectively.

Milwaukee is led by Carlos Munoz and Ian Bennett offensively, while current MISL Player of the Week, Marcio Leite sets up the attack. Goalkeepers Nick Vorberg and Marcel Feenstra alternate starts without any drop off for their side.

Psoriasis Causes, Symptoms, Treatments, Home Remedies

What is psoriasis?

Psoriasis (say "suh-RY-uh-sus") is a long-term (chronic) skin problem that causes skin cells to grow too quickly, resulting in thick, white, silvery, or red patches of skin. Normally, skin cells grow gradually and flake off about every 4 weeks. New skin cells grow to replace the outer layers of the skin as they shed. But in psoriasis, new skin cells move rapidly to the surface of the skin in days rather than weeks. They build up and form thick patches called plaques (say "plax").

The patches range in size from small to large. They most often appear on the knees, elbows, scalp, hands, feet, or lower back. Psoriasis is most common in adults. But children and teens can get it too.

Having psoriasis can be embarrassing, and many people, especially teens, avoid swimming and other situations where patches can show. But there are many types of treatment that can help keep psoriasis under control.

See a picture of psoriasis .

Experts believe that psoriasis occurs when the immune system overreacts, causing inflammation and flaking of skin.

In some cases, psoriasis runs in families. Researchers are studying large families affected by psoriasis to find out how it is passed from parents to their children and what might trigger the condition.

People with psoriasis often notice times when their skin gets worse. Things that can cause these flare-ups include a cold and dry climate, infections, stress, and dry skin. Also, certain medicines, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and medicines used to treat high blood pressure or certain mental illnesses, may trigger an outbreak or make your psoriasis worse.

Smoking, especially in women, makes you more likely to get psoriasis and can make it worse if you already have it.

Psoriasis is not contagious. It cannot be spread by touch from person to person.

What Is Psoriasis?

The symptoms of psoriasis vary depending on the type you have. Some common symptoms for plaque psoriasis -- the most common variety of the condition -- include:

Psoriasis can also be associated with psoriatic arthritis, which leads to pain and swelling in the joints. The National Psoriasis Foundation estimates that between 10% to 30% of people with psoriasis also have psoriatic arthritis.

Other forms of psoriasis include:

Pustular psoriasis, characterized by red and scaly skin on the palms of the hands and/or feet with tiny pustules

Guttate psoriasis, which often starts in childhood or young adulthood, is characterized by small, red spots, mainly on the torso and limbs. Triggers may be respiratory infections, strep throat, tonsillitis, stress, injury to the skin, and use of anti-malarial and beta-blocker medications.

Inverse psoriasis, characterized by bright-red, shiny lesions that appear in skin folds, such as the armpits, groin area, and under the breasts

Erythrodermic psoriasis, characterized by periodic, fiery redness of the skin and shedding of scales in sheets; this form of psoriasis, triggered by withdrawal from a systemic psoriasis treatment, severe sunburn, infection, and certain medications, requires immediate medical treatment, because it can lead to severe illness.

People who suffer from psoriasis know that this uncomfortable and at times disfiguring skin disease can be difficult and frustrating to treat. The condition comes and goes in cycles of remissions and flare-ups over a lifetime. While there are medications and other therapies that can help to clear up the patches of red, scaly, thickened skin that are the hallmark of psoriasis, there is no cure.

World Cup – Latin flavour to England friendlies ahead of Brazil

After drawing Uruguay and Costa Rica in their World Cup group, manager Roy Hodgson thought it was imperative that his team gained experience of taking on Central and South American nations prior to next summer's tournament in Brazil.

As a result, the Football Association has announced that England will play a friendly against Peru, whom they have never played before, on May 30 at Wembley.

The squad will then travel to Miami for a warm-weather camp where they will also play Ecuador on June 4 before they take on Honduras for the first time three days later.

Both of those matches will take place at the Sunlife Stadium - the home of the Miami Dolphins NFL team.

Hodgson said: "I'm delighted with the games we have been able to secure and the programme running up to the World Cup in general.

"I was clear to those responsible at the FA that I was looking for Central and South American opposition ahead of the tournament and that is exactly what has been delivered."

Ashley Cole and Gary Cahill played against AC Milan in the stadium, which has an approximate capacity of 70,000 for soccer games, in Chelsea's 2012 pre-season tour of the United States.

Hodgson is expected to name his provisional World Cup squad - plus standby players - around May 13.

England will then travel to a southern European training camp in Portugal in the week between the FA Cup final and the Champions League final, which takes place on May 24 in Lisbon.

After the Peru game the squad will be whittled down to a final 23-man party.

Reactivated late '80s/early '90s technical-thrash metallers BELIEVER will release their new album, "Transhuman", on April 12 (one day earlier internationally) via Metal Blade Records. The CD was produced by Trauma Team Productions and was mixed by Kevin Gutierrez (RAVEN, PROJECT: FAILING FLESH, DECEASED, DYSRYTHMIA, GARDEN OF SHADOWS) at Assembly Line Studios in Virginia.

Once again, BELIEVER tapped into the artistic genius of Michael Rosner and Eye Level Studio to produce the "Transhuman" artwork and layout.

"We wanted to work with Roz again on 'Transhuman' as our visions of combining art and music truly parallel," the band said. "He just gets it and his artwork is outside the typical box in a way that we strive for musically. It is an amazing collaboration that we have with Roz that continues to evolve. We are excited for everyone to see the final layout!"

The band continued; "Sonically we're extremely happy with this album and can't wait for other people to hear it. We feel like this is a really strong and unique album in the BELIEVER catalog and it's something we're definitely proud of.

"So what will you hear? As we mentioned, we focused more on the overall musicality which included more instrumental layers than we used before. The vocals were also more of a focus as we have had much feedback throughout the years, specifically to get out of the one dimensional realm. Kurt [Bachman] wanted the vocals to be more complimentary to the overall tune feel, so he used many facets of his vocal abilities.

"As with all BELIEVER albums, this one is definitely unique."

Transhumanism: The study of the ramifications, promises, and potential dangers of technologies that will enable us to overcome fundamental human limitations, and the related study of the ethical matters involved in developing and using such technologies.

Fans can pre-order their copy of "Transhuman" at link textthis location where the album is available on its own or bundled with a t-shirt. Also available on the band's pre-order page is a video that shows how the cover art came to be. Below are some images taken from the extraordinary artwork within the CD's packaging.

BELIEVER performed live for the first time in 16 years on September 25, 2009 at Sterling Hotel in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The band's fourth album, "Gabriel", was released in March 2009 through KILLSWITCH ENGAGE frontman Howard Jones's new imprint label Cesspool Records via Metal Blade. The CD featured guest appearances by Jones, Joe Rico (SACRIFICE), CKY/WORLD UNDER BLOOD guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller and Rocky Gray (EVANESCENCE, SOUL EMBRACED, LIVING SACRIFICE).
