BC Wheelchair Curling Championship
http://www.ctvvancouverisland.ca http NANAIMO - BC #39;s best wheelchair curlers are in Nanaimo this weekend for the provincial championships. Teams will hurry hard for the chance to represent BC at the nationals but for the players, winning is just icing on the cake. Nanaimo #39;s Corrine Jensen loves the sport. "It #39;s awesome. It gives me life," says Jenson. She #39;s the defending champion. She has been to the nationals three times and wants to go for a fourth. "I am here for the competition and the fellowship with all the people I curl with but my upmost goal is to get to the nationals again." Curling is what keeps her rolling. Multiple Sclerosis took away her leg but the disease couldn #39;t take away her passion for sports. Wheelchair Curling has made her a champion again. "Six years ago now I discovered it by chance when I went to a demonstration to it in Victoria. I got on the ice and I didn #39;t want to leave. I loved it so much." She #39;s back on the sheets with granites in her hands. Her competitive juices are flowing as she is focused to help Team Green win Gold. The first test is tomorrow morning when her team bangs rocks with Team Cormack. Follow Jett Bassi on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com
