HARVEY World Travel in Albury and Wangaratta will be jetting into a new brand over the holiday period.

Helloworld is a super brand created by merging Harvey World Travel, Travelscene, Jetset and Travelworld.

Albury and Wangaratta Harvey World Travel director Adrian Harris hoped it would revolutionise travel by detracting from the old-fashioned brands.

We hope helloworld is a fresher approach to travel, he said.

It will be more of an experience for people because it will be more interactive with iPads so people can do their own research and have the consultants there to help.

Mr Harris said they had the opportunity to not join the new brand but decided that would not be sustainable long term.

It will put us in a bigger pool of like-minded agents around Australia, he said.

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Joseph Yammin, has debunked speculations linking him to the award of travel contracts for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Deputy Sports Minister had been accused of contacting the Brazilian Sports Ministry in an attempt to make the 2014 World Cup travel arrangements a sole right for just one travel and tour agency in Ghana.

But the Communication Directorate of the Ministry has rubbished the claims and directed that it should be accorded the contempt it deserves.

It is not true that the Deputy Minister is in talks with some officials of Brazil to work out travel arrangements for a particular travel and tours company in Ghana to handle all the Brazil 2014 travel programs.

In fact, it can never be true. What people are talking about has to do with the Ministry of Tourism and other high offices in the host country. It is total falsehood, and nothing of that nature has taken place.

I can tell you for a fact that no travel and tour company will have the sole right for the World Cup program. The Ministry is considering making equitable distribution of the slot to all recognized and accredited travel agencies in the country, the Communications Directorate told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS.

Ghana would be making its third successive World Cup appearance in June next year and travel and tours companies like Kenpong, African Origin, Bahmed Travel and Tours among others would be considered for quotas to airlift fans for the Brazil showpiece.

Govt of Uttarakhand promotes tourism in state Some of the top bureaucrats of Uttarakhand are participating in the car rally organized by the Uttarakhand government to showcase to the world that the state is again the adventure tourism destination for skiing, white-water rafting, wildlife photography, and now also motorsport. Dehradun Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate B. Purushottam is part of the strong field of 35 teams at the rally. Purushottam is participating in the rally with team-mate Madhukar Naik, IAS. World Cup Trophy To Visit Vietnam

HANOI, Dec 26 (Bernama) -- Vietnamese football fans will have a chance to see the 2014 World Cup trophy on Jan 1 in Hanoi, reports Vietnam News agency (VNA).

The capital city is one of the stopovers the trophy will make during the 2014 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour.

Every four years before the World Cup, the trophy is taken on a world tour by Coca Cola, one of the official sponsors of the sports event. This time, the trophy started its journey from the well-known Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro on Sept 12.

It will travel to 88 countries and territories and cover 150,000 kilometres in 267 days, more than three times the circumference of the Earth, before returning to the host country, Brazil.

Currently in India, this is the third world tour of the trophy, the world's most coveted symbol of football. The first tour was in 2006.

The organisers of the event will hold many activities and performances during the day at the Quan Ngua Sport Palace.

During the exhibition, fans will get a chance to enjoy a rare up-close view of the original trophy. They will also have an opportunity to be photographed with the trophy, view a special hologram animation that showcases memorable moments of the FIFA World Cup and participate in interactive displays and other entertainment.

Fuleco, the official mascot of the Brazil World Cup, will also be accompanying the trophy.

Southeast Asia has long stood on the periphery of world football and often sidelined for its inability to compete for a place on the world's biggest football stage. At present, a Southeast Asian nation is yet to qualify for the global football event.

However, renowned football expert Mike Wong told Vietnam News in September that he has seen the positive progress regional football has made in recent years. He has urged Southeast Asian countries to develop a long term strategic plan if they are to realise ambitions of qualifying the World Cup.
