Liberty Energy Announces New Acreage in Bastrop County, Texas

HOUSTON, July 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Liberty Energy Corp. (LBYE) ("Liberty" or "the Company") announces further details on its new Bastrop County Acreage, Texas.

The Company is pleased to provide further details on its newly acquired acreage in Bastrop County, Texas. The Company can confirm having acquired two highly prospective leases in Bastrop County Texas. The combined leases measure approximately 300 acres and are situated in county that currently produces primarily from the Dale Lime, Austin Chalk, Buda and Edwards.

The Austin Chalk formation stretches 500km in length and 50km in width. The first wells were drilled in 1929 and the formation is still producing oil and gas in economically viable quantities today. New wells have IP'd (initial production) at over 1,200 barrels of oil per day (bopd)1 and with significant cumulative production make it one of the most prolific shale plays in the US. Given the cell size, mean numbers of cells, the mean EUR, and the success ratio, the Austin Chalk in the Outlying Areas Play is estimated to contain a mean of about 200 million barrels of oil (MMBO).2

The Eagle Ford has long been considered the "source rock" for hydrocarbons that are now found in the Austin Chalk formation across much of South Texas.3 Wells within the oil window across the play have experienced peak rates as high as 2,000 bopd, some with sustainable rates and others with steep declines. The oil reserves are estimated at 3 billion barrels of oil (BBO) with potential output of 420,000 bopd.4 Wells located in higher geo-pressured areas appear to be the most prolific producers. Most wells in the play are still producing in the transient flow regime and have not yet reached boundary dominated flow.3 There is also considerable variability among operators as to completion techniques and numerous examples of offset wells completed in one manner resulting in poor productivity with direct offsets completed in another with great success.3

The Company confirmed that based on typical costs, new Dale Lime/Austin Chalk wells can be drilled and completed with fracs for around $200,000, which includes the cost of surface equipment. Reserves are modeled with an estimated ultimate recovery of 10 thousand barrels of oil (MBO) per well and have historically been 13 MBO per well, based on 5 acre spacing.5

"We're planning to gather both geological and geophysical evaluations in addition to seismic data, which allows us to estimate the potential recoverable reserves. A thorough understanding of all information available to us will allow us to determine the best plan to further develop the lease with a high degree of accuracy," commented Ian Spowart, CEO of Liberty Energy Corp.

ABOUT LIBERTY: Liberty Energy Corp (LBYE) is an Independent Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company dedicated to the sourcing and production of fuel supplies in the United States and Europe. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, the company has leases and royalties in both Texas and Bulgaria, covering several wells with extensive potential for future development. In Texas, Liberty owns twelve leases based around numerous geological pay zones. In North-West Bulgaria, Liberty has royalty rights to a 1,000,000+ acre natural gas property (the A-Lovech exploration block), an area of high quality, low-sulphur natural gas condensate. Through this combined international reach and domestic focus, Liberty Energy is committed to the development of US fuel reserves while seeking out further opportunities for the global energy markets.

Liberty Silver Announces Offer for Sennen Resources

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire -07/16/12)- Liberty Silver Corp. (LSL.TO)(LBSV) today announced an offer to acquire all the outstanding common shares of Sennen Resources Ltd. (SN.V), a junior mineral exploration company.

Under the offer, Sennen shareholders will receive 0.28 of a Liberty Silver common share for each Sennen common share, being an implied offer price per Sennen common share of $0.20. The offer represents a premium of 47.3% to the 20-day volume weighted average trading price ended July 13, 2012, being $0.135. This is also larger in comparison to the average take-over bid premium paid for mining companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange over the past 12 months of 34.8%. The offer is valued at $13.36 million.

According to Liberty Silver's estimates, the acquisition of Sennen and its financial resources at the offer price is comparable to Liberty Silver completing a private placement of its common shares at approximately $0.71.

Benefits of the offer to Sennen shareholders:

For full details of these benefits, go to the "Question-and-Answer" section of Liberty Silver's take-over-bid circular, filed today on SEDAR at http://www.sedar.com.

"Sennen represents a great opportunity for Liberty Silver at a time of growing consolidation in the global mining industry", Geoff Browne, Liberty Silver's chief executive officer, said. "Depressed valuations for junior mining companies alongside healthy precious metal prices have created an environment ideal for mergers and acquisitions activity."

Mr. Browne added: "Liberty Silver is well-placed to take advantage of these opportunities using our mitigated-risk approach to project evaluation and development. We are confident that the combination of Sennen's cash resources and Liberty Silver's skilled management team and proven risk-mitigation strategy will enable us to advance our promising Trinity Silver project in Nevada and to identify other low-risk projects."

The offer will be made by way of formal take-over-bid circular to be mailed to Sennen shareholders and will be subject to various conditions, including receipt of all required regulatory approvals and not less than 66 2/3% of the Sennen common shares being deposited under the offer and not withdrawn. Further details concerning the offer will be included in the formal offer and take-over-bid circular.

If the transaction is completed, Liberty Silver intends to replace the board and management of Sennen and Sennen's common shares will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange.

Liberty Silver has an experienced board of directors comprised of sophisticated and highly-accomplished individuals. Their collective experience and expertise sets Liberty Silver apart from its peers. The eight- member board includes Paul Haggis, one of Canada's most prominent and respected business leaders. Mr. Haggis was recently named chairman of Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. Mr. Browne, Liberty Silver's chairman and CEO, has over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K.

Liberty no match for Mystics

The Washington Mystics were glad to finally get their first road win of the season in their last game before the Olympic break, and it came at the Libertys expense.

Crystal Langhorne scored 24 points and Monique Currie added 16 to lead the last-place Mystics to a 70-53 victory over the Liberty on Friday. Washington (4-14), which had lost its first seven road games, snapped a four-game losing streak and won for the second time in 11 games.

It was big for us to come in and win on the road our last game, Langhorne said. Just a change of direction for us.

After trailing early, the Mystics took control with a tiebreaking 15-2 run in the second quarter. The Liberty got no closer than eight points the rest of the way.

We were being really aggressive offensively, Langhorne said. They were getting a lot of second-chance opportunities in the first quarter and we really focused on boxing out and pushing on transition.

Washington shot 43 percent (24 for 56) from the field, led by Langhornes 10-for-15 and Curries 5-for-8 efforts. The Mystics were also 19 for 28 (68 percent) on free throws.

Cappie Pondexter scored 22 points on 9-for-23 shooting for the Liberty (6-12), losers of three straight and seven of their last 10. Essence Carson added eight points on 4-for-15 shooting as the Liberty shot 32 percent (22 for 68) including 1 for 15 from 3-point range and 8 of 9 on free throws.

I was 0 for 5 behind the [3-point] line, Pondexter said. Those are shots you got to make. Were a pretty solid 3-point shooting team. Leilani [Mitchell] is the head of that, Nicole [Powell] shoots well. ... We knock shots down. Obviously today wasnt that kind of day.

The Liberty cut a 13-point deficit late in the second quarter to eight early in the third. Nevertheless, the Mystics scored seven consecutive points to regain control. Jasmine Thomas made two free throws and hit a 3-pointer, and Noelle Quinn had a layup to stretch the advantage to 48-33 with 5:12 left in the quarter.

Currie made two free throws and a 3-pointer in the final minute of the period to give Washington a 58-41 lead heading to the fourth. Ashley Robinsons free throw with 8:42 remaining pushed the Mystics lead to 18, their largest of the game.

Mystics-Liberty Preview

Either the New York Liberty or Washington Mystics will head into the WNBA's Olympic break on a high note.

Given Washington's nearly year-long road winless drought, New York seems to be in good shape.

The Liberty look to send the Mystics to a 17th consecutive road loss while ending their own struggles Friday.

New York has lost six of nine after falling 84-82 at Indiana on Tuesday despite a season-high 33 points from Cappie Pondexter. The Liberty (6-11) have played the last seven games without Plenette Pierson (strained left knee) and the last three without Kia Vaughn (concussion), who are third and fourth on the team in scoring.

They trailed by as many as 12 points and rallied to take the lead in the fourth quarter, but the Fever hit a pair of late free throws to secure the win.

"Felt like we could have won the game," Pondexter said. "We had a chance."

Pondexter is averaging 23.8 points over her last four games and ranks third in the league with 19.9 per game. She scored a game-high 25 and Leilani Mitchell added 16 in a 76-70 road win over Washington on June 8.

She'll look to help New York head into the league's month-long break for the Olympics on a positive note with another victory over the Eastern Conference-worst Mystics, whose road skid continued with an 85-73 loss to Connecticut on Wednesday.

Washington (3-14), which has lost six straight road games versus New York, hasn't won away from home since beating Los Angeles 86-85 on July 17.

The Mystics, who have lost four straight and nine of 10 overall, were led Wednesday by Crystal Langhorne's 19 points, while Michelle Snow added 12 and seven rebounds.

Liberty homeowners suspicious of project

By Leonard Sparks

Published: 2:00 AM - 07/12/12

LIBERTY A group of Town of Liberty property owners continued its campaign to derail a metal-recycling project on Tuesday, clashing with other residents and town officials who say the project promises much-needed jobs.

Youngs Hill Road homeowners Jeffrey Cohen and Howard Perez took turns criticizing Owego-based Ben Weitsman and Son Inc.'s plans to build a recycling facility on Sheehan Road off Exit 99 of Route 17. Both have also joined two other property owners in filing suit to have a judge overturn a Town Board approved zoning change they claim was done to directly benefit Ben Weitsman and Son Inc.

"I never say something smells funny, but something smells funny," Cohen said.

Ben Weitsman's plan calls for construction of a facility on Sheehan Road. Up to 20 people would be hired to prepare metals for daily shipping to the company's shredding operation in Owego. No shredding will take place in Liberty, owner Adam Weitsman said. And the plans call for new brick buildings, paved parking and landscaping, he said.

"I understand the public but the public's never seen a scrap yard like ours," Weitsman said.

The recycling facility would be located in a six-parcel area that was zoned residential under a revised zoning map approved by the town in 2011.

Town officials said a zoning review committee had intended to zone the parcels as industrial. The Town Board approved a local law in December, "correcting" what it said was a mistake after the recycler showed interest in the land.

"That strip of land is not suitable for much else," Liberty Supervisor Charlie Barbuti told the Planning Board Tuesday.

Catchings' late FTs lift Fever past Liberty

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Tamika Catchings scored 23 points, including the winning free throws with 8.4 seconds left, to give the Indiana Fever an 84-82 victory over the New York Liberty on Tuesday.

Katie Douglas scored 20 points and Shavonte Zellous added 12 as the Fever (10-6) squandered a 12-point lead and trailed by four in the final minutes before rallying.

''We did a good job holding our composure down the stretch,'' Catchings said. ''When you look at it there are things that you're happy about and things you aren't happy about. Just continuing our quest to be a good team. We made some great defensive stops.''

Indiana finished 53 percent from the field, including 9 for 18 on 3-pointers.

Cappie Pondexter scored a season-high 33 points and Essence Carson added 14 for the Liberty (6-11), who have lost two straight and six of nine.

''Felt like we could have won the game,'' Pondexter said. ''We had a chance. It seems like we battle this team back and forth, playoffs, regular season, for the past three years ever since I've been in New York.''

Trailing 73-70 midway through the fourth quarter, the Liberty scored seven consecutive points to take their biggest lead. Leilani Mitchell made 3 to tie the score, Pondexter hit a technical free throw called on Indiana's Briann January for arguing and then Pondexter made a 3 to put New York up 77-73 with 3 1/2 minutes to go.

Catchings came back with a 3-pointer nearly a minute later and hit another one with 1:53 remaining to give the Fever a 79-77 lead.

Pondexter hit a tying jumper, and Douglas and Pondexter traded 3-pointers 14 seconds apart to leave the score tied at 82 with 35.5 seconds to go.

Indiana passed inbounds with 17.5 seconds left in the game and 6 seconds to go on the shot clock. The ball went all the way to the backcourt, where January tracked it down, hustled upcourt and missed a desperation shot. Catchings rebounded and was fouled. She made both free throws to put Indiana ahead.

Cappie Pondexter scored a season-high 33 points and Essence Carson added 14 for the Liberty (6-11), who have lost two straight and six of nine.

[I] felt like we could have won the game, Pondexter said. We had a chance. It seems like we battle this team back and forth, playoffs, regular season, for the past three years ever since Ive been in New York.

Trailing 73-70 midway through the fourth quarter, the Liberty scored seven consecutive points to take their biggest lead. Leilani Mitchell made 3 to tie the score, Pondexter hit a technical free throw called on Indianas Briann January for arguing and then Pondexter made a 3 to put the Liberty up 77-73 with 3/ minutes to go.

The Fever passed inbounds with 17.5 seconds left in the game and six seconds to go on the shot clock. The ball went all the way to the backcourt, where January tracked it down, hustled upcourt and missed a desperation shot. Catchings rebounded and was fouled. She made both free throws to put Indiana ahead.

BP's Liberty Project Suspended In Alaska Due To Costs And Setbacks

* Decision made after 18-month review

* Project would have cost "a lot more" than $1.5 bln

* Liberty project has history of delays, problems

By Yereth Rosen

ANCHORAGE, Alaska July 9 (Reuters) - BP has indefinitely suspended a $1.5 billion offshore oil project in Alaska due to cost overruns and technical setbacks, a company spokeswoman said on Monday.

An 18-month company review concluded that the Liberty project, a field with about 100 million barrels of recoverable oil, should not go forward as planned, said Dawn Patience with BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc.

"We are not going to pursue Liberty in its present form," said Patience. "The project, as it's designed right now, doesn't meet BP's standards."

Under plans submitted five years ago to regulators, Liberty would have been the first oil field located entirely in Federal waters offshore Alaska. Back then, BP expected production to begin in 2011.

A BP review found that Liberty -- slated to produce 40,000 barrels a day -- would have cost "a lot more" than the $1.5 billion BP had planned to spend there and would have taken several additional years to begin production, Patience said.

BP may still try to develop Liberty later.

Struggling Liberty need change

The Libertys season is almost half over but unless there is significant improvement, this team could be finished sooner rather than later.

New York (6-10) remains mired in fifth place in the Eastern Conference as it heads into todays game at Indiana (9-6). The Fever are 5-2 home.

The last time New York played at Indianapolis, it took a 91-68 beating, one of the worst in franchise history. This is the second of a three-game stretch before the Olympic break. The Liberty got drilled at home Sunday, 94-81 by the San Antonio Silver Stars.

We didnt have a good outing defensively, Liberty coach John Whisenant told reporters after the game. Weve had a couple of good defensive outings against Seattle and more recently Chicago, and we never got control of this one.

The defense, which hasnt been good all season, wasnt the biggest problem against San Antonio. The Liberty were inconsistent offensively.

After scoring 28 points in the first quarter they scored just half of that (14) in the second. New York regained some mojo at halftime and scored 27 points in the third quarter. But the Liberty couldnt maintain it and scored just 12 in the fourth quarter.

Injuries have taken a toll. Power forward Plenette Pierson, one of the best all-around pros in the WNBA, is expected to miss her seventh straight game with a strained left knee. Center Kia Vaughn, the teams leading rebounder, is expected to sit out her third straight game with a concussion.

The Liberty are 1 1/2 games behind the Atlanta Dream for the last playoff spot in the East. They lead the Washington Mystics by 1 1/2 games. The Liberty end the first half of the season with a home game against Washington on Friday.

If nothing else, the month long break will give New York a chance to heal.
