Rep. Jim Jordan: There are four key impeachment facts that Democrats cannot change – Fox News

House Oversight Committee ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, a member ofPresident Trumps legal team for the Senate impeachment trial, told Fox News Tuesday thatfour key facts will remain in the president'sfavor throughout the process.

The facts are solidly on the presidents side," Jordan said duringspecial coverage of the Senate impeachment trial."I think thats why the American people understand this is ridiculous and I think thats why the president is going to prevail, hopefully in as short a trial as possible."

IMPEACHMENT TRIAL RULES SEEM WRITTEN IN THE WHITE HOUSE, NOT THE SENATE, SCHUMER SAYS

"The idea that we have the transcript [of Trump's July 25 phone call with Ukraine's president], there was no quid pro quo in the transcript, the two individuals on the call, President Trump and [Ukraine] President [Volodymyr] Zelensky, have repeatedly said that there was no pushing, no pressure, no linkage between the security assistance dollars and any type of investigation in Ukraine," Jordan went on. "The Ukrainians didn't even know at the time of the call that aid had been held and most importantly, they took no action. They never started an investigation, they never promised to start an investigation, they never announced an investigation, they took no action to get the aid released.

"These four facts will never change, no matter how long Jerry Nadler and Adam Schiff talk."

The trial resumed Tuesday afternoon with Democrats and Republicans warring over the rules whileTrump toutedthe U.S. economic boom several time zones away at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., took to the Senate floor immediately before the proceedings began to rail against the rules proposed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to govern the trial, calling them a national disgrace and an attempt to conduct a trial at 2 a.m.

The McConnell resolution will result in a rushed trial, with little evidence in the dark of night," Schumer said.

But McConnell pledged a fair impeachment trial and said hell move to table or kill various motions that he thinks would alterthe framework. A revised framework resolution sent out by McConnell's office Tuesday afternoon gave both sides each an extra day to present their opening arguments and admitted the evidence gathered by the House impeachment inquiry into the trial record.

Rep. Jim Jordan on impeachment: When you drain the swamp, the swamp fights back – NBC4 WCMH-TV

Posted: Jan 21, 2020 / 03:29 PM EST / Updated: Jan 21, 2020 / 06:19 PM EST

MARYSVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) Congressman Jim Jordan, from Ohios 4th District vigorously defended President Trump during the House impeachment hearings. Now, he is one of a half dozen Republican House members who will be defending him during the Senate trial.

Jordan was in his home district today, at the Marysville Honda plant. NBC4s Colleen Marshall had a chance to ask him some questions about the impeachment process.

My job is is to get to the facts, to get to the truth, and like I said before, the facts and the truth are all on the Presidents side. Thats why hes gonna win, said Jordan.

Like other leaders of his party, Jordan wants the Senate and the American people to take the presidents word for that, seeing no need for witnesses or documents at the impeachment trial.

The American people understand that its time to get this over with and never should have happened in the first place, said Jordan.

Then why not let them testify to that? Why not present the witnesses and hear from people like Lev Parnas who seem to have unusual access to the President? asked Colleen Marshall.

If youre going to if youre going to go down that road then I want to hear from the whistle-blower, I want to hear from Hunter Biden. If youre going to bring in Lev Parnas and John Bolton, and whats good for the goose is good for the gander as they say, responded Jordan.

Opening arguments are expected to focus on the prosecutors claim that the President obstructed Congress from investigating his alleged abuse of power. The defense claims nothing rises to an impeachable offense.

Theyll make theyll be the argument that the process was completely unfair on the house side, which is definitely true. I mean, we were we werent allowed to bring in any of the witnesses we want on the house side. There were times during depositions where Adam Schiff actually prevented the witness from answering our questions. Ive never seen that happen. They got a lawyer there, the lawyer can do that. Its not supposed to be the chairman of the committee doing that, said Jordan.

As Hondas Vice President signed a White House-backed pledge to Americas workers, Jim Jordan claimed jobs and a thriving economy are overshadowed by impeachment.

Theyre going to keep going after this president because when you go to Washington and you drain the swamp, start to drain the swamp, the swamp fights back. And thats what were seeing, said Jordan.

Rep. Jordan and Colleen Marshall also discussed the investigation into abuse at the hands of Dr. Richard Strauss at Ohio State. Colleen will have more from that part of the discussion on NBC4 at 6.

Cole Bennetts Lyrical Lemonade Collaborates With Jordan Brand On The Aerospace 720 – Sneaker News

In the world of sneakers, two of the most universally recognized logos are Nikes swoosh and Jordan Brands Jumpman. In the world of hip-hop, specifically as it relates to Chicagos youth-driven rap scene, arguably no logo is as well-known as the Lyrical Lemonade carton that has appeared at the beginning of music videos for Juice WRLD and Famous Dex, among others. In 2013, Lyrical Lemonade began as a blog covering the emerging music scene in the Windy City, which included the likes of Chance the Rapper and Chief Keef. Since then, founder Cole Bennett has grown the blog into a multimedia company that boasts a 12 million subscriber count on YouTube and even a co-founded music festival (Summer Smash) catering to Chicagos budding youth movement. Soon, Bennett and his hobby-turned-business will add Jordan Brand collaboration to their growing list of accolades with a colorful Aerospace 720.

While no stranger to collaborating with creative-types, a Jordan-backed Lyrical Lemonade sneaker may seem random, but the partnership makes perfect sense given that this years All-Star Weekend is heading to the midwest. Perhaps taking cues from a forthcoming Nike Air Max 97 and Air Flight 89, the futuristic silhouette opts for a cool blue similar to the stripes on Chicagos flag for its uppers. At the heel, hits of purple, green, and yellow take over suede overlays and TPU molding, while also appearing on the Lyrical Lemonade cartoon decorating the right shoes tongue. Left shoes feature the blue-and-yellow carton logo on the tongue, while their insoles change up its color scheme to an alternative purple and yellow. Down below, plump Air-cushioning dons the primary blue hue, but translucent outsoles reveal more of Lyrical Lemonades signature color palette just underneath the wavy traction.

No official release information is yet known for this pair, but a drop in mid-February to coincide with All-Star Weekend in Chicago is a possibility. Until then, grab an in-depth look at this Jordan Aerospace 720 below and keep it locked here for more updates.

This Jordan Mars 270 Is Inspired By One Of Michael Jordans 1992 Dream Team Photoshoots – Sneaker News

By nature, Spike Lees Jordan Spizike and Son of Mars lines pay homage to a host of iconic Air Jordan silhouettes and have been hybridizing classics like the Jordan 3 and Jordan 6 into modern, but rooted-in-heritage models since 2006 and 2012, respectively. The Jordan Mars 270, designed by Jackson Lewis Lee, continues this tradition of remixing by not only mish-mashing pairs the likes of the Jordan 1 and Jordan 5, but also infusing Nikes Air Max 270 cushioning to the basketball-inspired model. This forthcoming release takes the homage-paying a step further with the fan-favorite Concord color scheme, notably seen at the tongue and midsole. While the white/black/purplish color combination is most often associated with the Jordan 11, the palette first graced an Air Max 180 worn by Michael Jordan in a photoshoot for the 1992 Olympics at least three years before the patent-leather sneaker captivated fans everywhere. Given its golden profile swooshes and split NIKE branding near the ankle and on the insole, this Mars 270 is undoubtedly tributing the AM180 which features these two details and not its more famous Concord relative.

While no release information is yet known, this pair is likely hitting Nike.com and select retailers as we inch closer to the Tokyo Olympics. Until then, grab a look at MJ wearing the Air Max 180s, as well as official images of the upcoming Jordan Mars 270, here below.

Holocaust Forum and U.S. election give Israel the perfect stage to push Jordan Valley annexation – Haaretz

When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared his intention to annex the Jordan Valleya week before the election last September, it was perceived as a last-minute ploy to divert attention from his impending corruption indictments and a temptation for religious-Zionist voters to defect from the right-wing alliance Yamina to Likud.

The prime minister presented a map of land to be annexed, but the plan sparked little public debate at home or reactions abroad, and was swallowed up by the rest of the election campaign.

>>Holocaust Forum live updates here

Hijacking the Holocaust for Putin, politics and powerHaaretz Weekly Ep. 57

That campaign came and went, followed directly by another, and Netanyahu is sticking to his message: U.S. President Donald Trumps support gives Israel a rare opportunity to annex the Jordan Valley, so voters should keep in power the prime minister close to the White House and the Republicans. The poll numbers havent been affected, and Netanyahus right-wing bloc still lacks the majority to save the prime minister from a trial. Still, Netanyahu has planted the idea in the public consciousness.

The World Holocaust Forum being held in Jerusalem this week offers an opportunity to put annexation back in the headlines, safe in the knowledge that the many world leaders coming to honor the memory of the 6 million who perished in the Holocaust wont spoil the event by criticizing Israels appetite for land. Netanyahu has won an enthusiastic supporter for the idea in his ostensible political rival, Benny Gantz, who staged photo ops in the Jordan Valley with top people in his Kahol Lavan party and promised to support an annexation with international consent.

On Friday, the editor of the right-wing newspaper Makor Rishon, Hagai Segal, quoted Gantz as saying he wants Jordanian and European consent for an annexation, not just American. Gantz knows that King Abdullah and the EU wont recognize the extension of Israeli law into the Jordan Valley, but he wont be able to hide behind them forever. This thin flak jacket is tattered.

It seems Israel is marching toward annexation of the Jordan Valley, a largely desolate area that few Israelis visit but one considered strategically important. The timing is transparent: A year Trump is running for reelection and is thus keen to entertain requests from Jerusalem. Netanyahu isnt doing anything new here.

Israel has always sought to exploit such situations to obtain diplomatic gains from Washington. U.S. President Harry Truman recognized the Jewish state minutes after it was declared in 1948, contrary to the wishes of his secretary of state and top administration officials, because he was running in an election from a weak position and needed the support of Jewish voters and donors.

On the current political map in Israel theres a solid majority for annexing the Jordan Valley that includes the entire right-wing bloc,Avigdor Lieberman and now Kahol Lavan. Its hard to recall that just a few years ago, Netanyahu opposed any annexation in the West Bank and insisted on maintaining the status quo, arguing that unilateral moves would harm Israel. But the settlers didnt relent. They diverted a majority in Likud to their side and bid their time until Netanyahu was weak and needed them.

Now Gantz has also shifted from the center-left to the annexationist right. If a unity government is formed after the election, annexation of the Jordan Valley will be at the top of its agenda and will pass even if the left-leaning Knesset members in Kahol Lavan receive the freedom to vote as they please.

The left is also split. After all, the idea of annexing the Jordan Valley was first broached by Labors Yigal Allon in the famous plan for partitioning the West Bank that he proposed in the early stages of the Israeli occupation. Jordan Valley settlements were founded by Labor governments until the political upset of 1977 that brought Likud to power. Labor-Gesher chief Amir Peretzs statement disavowing support for Gantz on annexation was pretty mild and made sure to mention the vital security arrangements for Israel.

Meretz and the Joint List of Arab parties were more vocally opposed, as expected, but this opposition only makes Gantz seem more like a nationalist, not a leftist. MK Ahmad Tibis warning to Gantz that if the Kahol Lavan chief supports annexation hell remain in the opposition didnt faze the former army chief of staff.

Annexation of the Jordan Valley is part of Netanyahus position for decades: The West Bank and Golan Heights are Israels defensive wall that must not be relinquished. Before all the declarations about annexation, he talked about security control in the Jordan Valley in any future accord with the Palestinians. If he applies Israeli law there, or just initiates a political and diplomatic move completed by his successors, he will have chalked up his biggest achievement after more than a decade of running in place and stagnation in the peace process.

Israel will use security reasons to justify the annexation and cite the small number of Palestinians who live in the area. According to Peace Now, Netanyahus map would add 1,236 square kilometers (477 square miles) to Israel, 22.3 percent of the West Bank, an area currently home to 13,000 Israeli settlers and 4,500 Palestinians.

Foreign governments that complain about the burial of the peace process and the two-state solution will be told that the application of Israeli law is no impediment to peace talks in the future, just as the annexation of East Jerusalem in 1967 and the Golan Heights in 1982 didnt preclude talks about their repartition with the Palestinians and Syrians.

The outcry from the Palestinian Authority is stirring zero interest from the international community right now, and the International Criminal Court in The Hague has trouble reading long documents about violations of international law, as Haaretzs Noa Landau has reported. If Trump and his campaign managers give Netanyahu the green light, its hard to see what would prevent Israel from passing legislation, via the three necessary votes in the Knesset, to apply Israeli law and administration to the area of the Jordan Valley shown on the map appended to the annexation bill.

The only unhappy party will be Jordan, which enjoys the support of Israels defense establishment. Here the annexationists will have to be careful and creative to avoid a collapse of the peace agreement and the wide security latitude it gives Israel.

LA-based comedy writer Jordan Morris’ unusual connection to the Seattle Sounders – SoundersFC.com

Behind the scenes of @Midnight, a late-night Comedy Central show that ran from 2013-2017, a research staff monitored the internet to find trends that would make their way on the show. One day, a name began trending on Twitter which happened to be the name of one of their colleagues.

When a name trends on Twitter, you assume that person died, smiledJordan Morris, a comedy writer based in LA. The staff would screenshot name and ask if Im OK. As it turns out, there was a soccer player named Jordan Morris, too.

While he was amused by the shared name, there was a little bit of concern for the non-pro athlete Morris. After all, he was the one who had the @Jordan_Morris Twitter handle, while the Sounders star has had @JMOSmooth13 since his college days at Stanford.

Im aware that sports Twitter can be toxic, said Morris, who has co-hosted a weekly podcast, Jordan Jesse Go!for 13 years. Any time someone mistakes me from him online, its a positive thing. I have seriously never encountered online trolling because of the mix-up.

In fact, Morris has even joined in on the fun. When the soccer-playing Morris scored two goals in his return from injury last March, Morris quote tweeted Sounders FCs Twitter account with a life update of his recent trip to Target.

For someone who doesnt consider himself much of a sports fan, Morris has enjoyed the following along his namesakes career. He admits to watching YouTube videos to get know what the soccer-playing Jordan Morrislikehe seems to be a nice guy and a hometown hero.

While many of us will never know whats like to hear our name associated with a broadcasters goal call, Morris has taken full advantage of his unique circumstance.

Its cool to hear a sports announcer yell JORDAN MORRIS and the crowd go wild, Morris laughed. Its a weird moment of dissonance that feels like a dream.

One of Morris friends is actress Alison Becker, who shares a name with Liverpools star goalkeeper, Alisson Becker. She has a jersey of her name twin and now Jordan Morris does, too.

Shaquille O’Neal explains why he was scared of Michael Jordan when he first came into the NBA – Basketball Network

On the show Inside the NBA, Shaquille ONeal remembered his early years coming to the NBA and playing against Michael Jordan. Shaq admitted that he was scared of Jordan because he was able to see what it was playing against him in real life. Before that, he only had the opportunity to watch him on tv, and soon he realized how great Jordan was in a real matchup when Shaq faced the Bulls in his rookie season.

I was terrified out there for the whole game. One, he is the greatest player and two I was worried about him dunking on me, and I would have to go back and face the fellas. And three, he was so hot that I was like man, this dude. The staff that I saw when I was in college on tv was really real. I was terrified.

Shaq was a dominant figure ever since his rookie year, and he said he felt confident going against the Bulls centers anytime he got the ball.

But when I got the ball and saw those bumps playing me, I was going to go to work. Bums, you know what Im saying.

Shaq also said he was scared of Barkley, Ewing and David Robinson but surprisingly not Hakeem Olajuwon. According to Shaq, Hakeem was too much of a nice guy, so he didnt impose that type of fear element as the other guys did on him.

Jordan Spieth and his reset: ‘Finding ways to go back in time’ – Golf Digest

LA JOLLA, Calif. Jordan Spieth, at 26, is far too young to have arrived at a career crossroads, notwithstanding signposts that might have suggested he was headed in that direction.

Fairways and greens became so elusive that even his vaunted short game was incapable of mitigating his misfires. The worst season of his career followed his second worst season, reflected in his plummeting World Ranking. He is now 46th, his worst position in more than 6 years, since midway through his rookie season in 2013 when he was in the midst a steady climb. Note, too, that he hasnt won since the British Open in 2017.

So it was time for a reset, and, by chance more than choicehe was going to begin 2020 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, but withdrew with illnesshe has returned to where it all began, the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. He made his professional debut here, in 2013, and though he missed the cut, he went on to post the first of 11 tour wins, earning nearly $4 million in the process.

I kind of feel blank-slated here, he said on Tuesday, reflecting how he felt at the outset of 2013, after leaving the University of Texas midway through his sophomore year to pursue professional golf.

Hopefully ready to bounce back to where Ive been in the past. That doesnt mean its going to happen right away, but kind of build to that. I feel like I got out of the offseason tournaments, the fall tournaments, what I wanted to an extent. It was a little trial and error. So big picture I have a really good frame of mind, which should allow me to build some patience into getting my game where I want it to be.

Spieth resorted to technology with which he was familiar to discover where his swing, notably with his driver, had strayed from the route that had taken him to No. 1 in the world for an extended stay.

He was alerted to red flags, he said, and then adjust accordingly. The idea is to try and do it obviously when things are going really well. Thats probably the most important time to go do something, so you can get back on track.

All in all, Im just trying to get my timing down a little bit better. Its nothing crazy, nothing wild, no big changes or anything. Its just simply finding ways to go back in time to where Im swinging my swing instead of trying to do anything special.

Taking it from 3D modeling to tournament rounds on the PGA Tour is the challenge, of course. However it plays out, his attitude is that its a start. Its when I kind of start to garner that control on the range and kind of transfer to rounds I play at home and transfer it to rounds on Tuesday, Wednesday and then you take it into tournament play.

First PGA Tour event in three months, so Im just kind of anxious to get going, and Im not putting huge expectations on the start. Just more so stay with kid of the trend, the practice, the feels that Ive been doing, not audible out of them for whats comfortable, but instead power through.

Jordan: Donald Trumps only crime was beating Hillary Clinton and challenging the swamp – Sara A. Carter

This opinion was first publish by Fox News Opinion (Click here to read original)

There is a fissure running through the Democrats case for impeachment. Representatives ought to govern with justice, fairness, and by doing what they said they would do. This impeachment twice falls short of that standard.

The fact-finding wasnt impartial and just and hearings werent balanced and fair. But for many Democrats, impeachment delivered on the third scoreit was exactly what they said they would do.

Ever since Donald Trump was elected, Democrats have been focused on unseating him and reversing their 2016 loss at the ballot box. But in September, with voters a mere matter of months from heading to the polls in 2020, Democrats decided waiting was no longer an optionso they launched a half-baked impeachment inquiry, flaunted their own rules and abandoned precedents established to protect justice and fairness.

With a flimsy accusation, they spent long weeks in secret basement rooms and tried to build a case.

Their lead architect was Representative Adam Schiff, who is now better known for falsely portraying a memo released to the public by President Trump than he is for finding any evidence of wrongdoing.

Schiff could never disprove these four facts: First, the released call transcript between Presidents Trump and Zelensky show no link between aid dollars and political investigations. Second, both Presidents Trump and Zelenksy say there was no pressure. Third, Ukraine didnt know the aid was held at the time of the call. And, four, Ukraine never launched any action to get the aid released.

Sass Jordan Embraces the Blues With ‘Leaving Trunk’: Premiere – Billboard

There's no question that the blues are an intrinsic part of Sass Jordan's musical makeup heck, she even played lead in the off-Broadway Janis Joplin musicalLove, Janis. But it took some convincing for her to make the upcoming covers albumRebel Moon Blues, whose rendition of Sleepy John Estes' "Leaving Trunk" is premiering exclusively below.

The project was broached by Jordan's label, Stony Plain Records, and not entirely welcomed by the Canadian singer and actress. "When someone told me 'You really should do a blues record' before, I replied, 'Go take a hike!' And that was the polite way of saying it," Jordan tells Billboard. It was Jordan's husband, Guess Who singer Derek Sharp, who convinced her to change her mind.

"Derek said, 'This blues record, it's so YOU, Sass,'" she recalls. "He said, 'Look at the song by Gary Moore ('Still Got the Blues'); It's got the blues, but it still rocks." And when he said that, it was like this light went on. I just went, 'Holy.' That made so much sense to me. I love this music, and it made sense that I do this. I have a bluesy voice. I've always been called bluesy. So I was like, 'Alright, let's own this,' and we had a blast doing it."

The eight-trackRebel Moon Blues(out March 13) also features songs by Willie Dixon, Elmore James, Freddie King and Rory Gallagher, along with one Jordan-Sharp original, "The Key" --for which she cites Tom Petty as an influence. Jordan calls the song selection "arduous," but in a good way. "It's almost like an endless gold mine, isn't it," she says of the possibilities. "There's really no end to it." So much so that Jordan promises "I'm gonna do it again" at some point in the future.

Rebel Moon Blues recorded in Toronto with her band the Champagne Hookers and a couple of extra players -- is also noteworthy because it finds Jordan covering songs entirely by menand refusing to change gender-specific lyrics. That wasn't by design, Jordan says, other than deciding "I was not gonna focus specifically on female blues singers, per se. It was just going to be about the song, no matter who did it." She was also surprised that when she found blues material by female singers, particularly from decades ago, "I was kind of in shock they were the filthiest, most unbelievably foul and hilarious stuff you've ever heard. But I didn't feel like I was ready to do that, at least not the first time with this. I just decided to go with whatever resonated with me at the moment."

Jordan plans to do some touring to supportRebel Moon Blues, but she's just hit the road with A Bowie Celebration, a tribute show helmed by former Bowie keyboardist Mike Garson. She's performed as a guest at some of the show's previous stops in Toronto, but she'll be touring Europe and North America with it through March is enjoying the opportunity to sink deeper into Bowie's music than she has before.

"David Bowie is such an integral part of my influence spectrum," says Jordan, who's also launched a Rebel Moon whiskey brand to join her Kick Ass Sass wine. "He was so powerful to me when I was 13, 14 years old. I was a huge Bowie fan until I started having to go learn 31 goddamn songs! (laughs) But the whole panoramic view of his work is just astonishing. It's just astonishing what that guy did and I'm even more enamored now than I ever was before being asked to do this. It's completely terrifying but really, really exciting."

Jamie Foxx pulled Michael B. Jordan aside after he struggled with a big courtroom scene in ‘Just Mercy,’ and the final performance made the extras…

Michael B. Jordan struggled with the final scene in "Just Mercy," in which he plays American lawyer Bryan Stevenson. The finale of the film is a courtroom scene featuring Jordan's Stevenson and Jamie Foxx's wrongly-condemned death row prisoner Walter McMillan, and Jordan was nervous for it.

"There's a lot of dialogue. Bryan said I couldn't really ad-lib or improv because it's exactly what he said. So I knew I had to get all that stuff down pretty tight," said Jordan.

"I was anxious, man. I wanted to get it right really bad. The courtroom was packed it was a long day."

Jordan admitted he made several mistakes and fluffed a couple of lines, which Foxx said he constantly apologized for because "he's so nice." This prompted Foxx to give his co-star and longtime friend some advice.

"I pulled him to the side and was like, 'Hey, you don't have to apologise. This is your film. You put this together. If it takes you thirty minutes to say one line, take it,'" said Foxx.

"That boy went over there I don't know what he did got his mind together, and then lullabied it. It was so incredible that the extras gave him a standing ovation," Foxx said.

It wasn't just the extras that Jordan's performance had an effect on, as Foxx explained he went to touch his arm and Jordan was so in the zone that he jerked away and left the set.

"He walked out, and black people call it the Holy Ghost. I said he got the Holy Spirit. I was proud," said Foxx.

"I text him and said what you just did was monumental. The people in the fourth row are weeping. You don't see someone actually care that much."

Jordan himself, typically, remained humble amidst Foxx's praise and credited the Oscar-winner as a longtime-mentor.

"I couldn't imagine anybody championing me the way he has," said Jordan. "Those little words that he told me for that scene made all of the difference. I owe a lot of them to him."

"You killed it," said Foxx.

Michael B. Jordan Wears One of the Thinnest Watches in the World – GQ

Over the past decade, a version of The Biggest Loser has played out in the watch world. And the race to make ever-thinner pieces has involved two main competitors: Piaget and Bulgari. In the middle of the decade, Bulgari landed two haymakers when it developed two record holders: the thinnest watch with a tourbillon and the thinnest with a minute repeater. But Piaget, a brand that's prided itself on making tiny timepieces since the 1950s, and has put more thin models out into the world than the Hadid family, wasnt going to take this lying down. In 2017, the brand unveiled the Altiplano Ultimate and retook the worlds-thinnest belt, which is presumably laced with those holes you have to make yourself to accommodate weight loss. While promoting his new movie Just Mercy, Michael B. Jordan wore a version of this watchthe Altiplanoand a suit perfect for the occasion of the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. Also this week, we find out which watches a legendary supermodel and Logan Roy wear.

Michael B Jordans Piaget Altiplano

Jordans watch isnt the thinnest in the world, but its pretty damn close. The difference between the Altiplano Ultimo (4.30 millimeters thick) and the Altiplanolets call it Regularo (6.36 mm) is barely more than the thickness of a nickel. In exchange, Jordan gets a bezel set with one carats worth of diamondsnot a bad trade off.

Naomis Campbells Rolex Day Date

In writing this column, Ive learned that no matter what sort of celebrity you arechart-topping musician, first-billing actor, or superstar athleteodds are youre likely to wear a Rolex. That holds true, apparently, even for legendary supermodels. This week, Naomi Campbell wore Rolexs uber-classic Day Date. Campbell is a longtime Rolex wearer and the brands superfans have collected pictures of her wearing Daytonas and other Day Date models over the years. Ever since Lyndon Johnson wore the Day Date during his time in the Oval Office, the watch has been known as The President. The Supermodel might be fitting, too.

Brett Gelmans Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic

Brett Gelman, in the midst of a wondrous-to-behold style renaissance, is also punching the throttle on his watch game. To the Critics Choice Awards Sunday, Gelman wore a watch from Montblanc, which also happens to be Denzel Washingtons timepiece brand of choice. The watch is a red-carpet anomaly: reasonably affordable at under $3,000, with looks that would never betray that fact. The dial features Montblancs star logo rippling across it.

Nicole Kidmans 1953 Omega

Rappers arent the only ones who wear iced-out watches. Nicole Kidman, too, can wear a timepiece thats less watch than fine jewelry. The actress reached all the way back in the time machine to 1953 for what would be known today as a bust-down Omega that is practically all glitz: the white-gold bracelet is linked together with 24 diamonds, the bezel is set with 32 more diamonds, and additional diamonds jut out from the watch in multiple places. Id like to see Drake top this.

John Cenas Rolex Explorer II

First of all, congratulations to John Cena for winning Employee of the Month at a mid-sized paper supply companythis photo is adorable. Second thing: Cena is wearing the very underrated Rolex Explorer II. Rolex developed the original Explorer to endure the harshest of conditions, whether that meant sub-zero temperatures or clangs against a rock wall. The Explorer II was introduced in 1971 as the originals slightly beefier younger bro. The new version inherited its predecessors striking orange arrow-shaped hand, and added an option for the snowy white dial seen here on Cenas model. The design earned the watch the nickname the Polar Explorer, which should be Cenas new wrestling moniker.

Brian Coxs Apple Watch

Brian Cox, who plays Logan Roy on Succession, doesnt need to subject himself to the typical baubles most people decorate themselves with for award shows. Instead, he wore an Apple Watcha practical wristwear option that can be programmed to buzz when the time finally comes to bless one of his horrible children with a kiss from daddy.

$460,000 in fake Air Jordans, UGGs, Rolexes and more seized in Greensboro; five arrested – Winston-Salem Journal

GREENSBORO State agents seized $460,000 worth of counterfeit products Air Jordan shoes, UGG boots, Rolex watches, Gucci handbags and pirated CDs and DVDs at a Greensboro flea market Saturday, according to the N.C. Department of the Secretary of State.

The estimated retail value is the amount the genuine trademarked items would sell for, the agency said Thursday in a news release.

Agents with the N.C. Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force discovered the knock-off designer apparel and accessories at The Flea flea market at 3220 N. OHenry Blvd. in Greensboro, state officials said. Homeland Security Investigations and the Greensboro Police Department helped with the enforcement sweep.

Five people were charged with trademark violations. Ramon Vararro Poteat, 60, of Browns Summit, and Alhage Mohammed Secka, 51, of Raleigh were each charged with one count of felony criminal use of a counterfeit trademark. Three other flea market vendors were charged with misdemeanor trademark violations: Evette Delynn Daouda, 53, of Greensboro; Felicia Dianne Able, 46, of Greensboro; and Joey Ray Willis, 39, of Danville, Va.

Counterfeit products do real economic harm to legitimate manufacturers and merchants, pose a health and safety hazard to consumers, and can help fund organized crime," said Secretary of State Elaine Marshall in the news release.

Marshall created the N.C. Anti-Counterfeiting Task Force in 2004. Her office enforces laws that protect the holders of state and federally registered trademarks, her agency said in the news release.

DeAndre Jordan wont need surgery, to be re-evaluated in a week – NetsDaily

The good news: DeAndre Jordan will not require surgery for his dislocated middle finger.

The bad news: Hell be re-evaluated in a week after the Nets play games against Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dwight Howard and maybe Joel Embiid.

The Nets announced the news at practice Friday, two days after he injured his finger in the first half of Wednesdays game vs. the 76ers. Theres no guarantee that Jordan will return in a weeks time, but if he had needed surgery, the team was looking at four to six weeks without their back-up center.

The loss will put pressure on the Nets two young bigs, their 21-year-old starter Jarrett Allen and 20-year-old rookie Nicolas Claxton who was playing for Long Island on Wednesday night.

In comments after the 76ers game, Kenny Atkinson said he was happy with Allens play against Philly and would have no compunctions about giving Claxton minutes. Beyond those two, expect the Nets to use veteran Wilson Chandler or second year player Rodions Kurucs in small ball scenarios.

Thats the Jarrett Allen we need, Atkinson said, post-game alluding to Allens 17-point, 10-rebound performance. Thats huge for us. I think that was a big reason we were in the game and able to compete with them. He kind of got back to his high-energy Jarrett Allen, that stretch where he was playing great, protecting the rim and then rolling and finishing. That was a huge positive.

With Jordan out, Allen will have to play more minutes, but he said that shouldnt be an issue.

I dont think so, Allen said. Nothing against DJ, but Im young. I have more energy than him. I think I can be able to play for as long as they need me.

As for Claxton, whos played only 120 minutes in 10 games this season, Atkinson expressed confidence in his ability to step up.

I have no qualms about playing Nic Claxton. I think hell be an excellent player, Atkinson said. If its a big if if DeAndre misses any time, I have no hesitation playing him.

Claxtons G League coach, Shaun Fein, offered high praise for Claxton on Wednesday night, something virtually every Nets coach and executive has echoed.

He is super talented, Fein said. I think on both ends of the floor. His defensive size is very good, his length, and his activity on the defensive side helps us.

Offensively, he is improving on his outside shooting a little bit. He has a great touch around the rim. Once he gets a little stronger, gets a little more mature, and grows into his body, I see him being a really really good NBA player.

Meanwhile, the Nets announced that Joe Harris, whos had a tough January, will be out with back problems.

Jordan Brand’s Biggest Hater Admits It Had a Great Year – Complex

I never thought Id admit this, but its been a banner year for Jordan Brand. A past 12 months that should add a seventh ring to the collection. So here we are, the number one Jordan hater saying the brand has done a good job this year. Howd we get here? Lets take a look at this year.

My disdain for Jordan Brand is overstated at timesI dont hate the sneakers. Theyre just not for me. Its the same as how a pair of suede Adidas might be for the guy who loves Air Jordan XIIIssimple as that. I also used to think it was corny, seven or eight years ago, when people thought that if you preferred a New Balance 998 over a pair of Air Jordan IIIs that your opinions in sneakers didnt matter. Im glad things have changed.

This year has been big for Air Jordan purists, and thats something I can appreciate. The Air Jordan IV came back in its Black/Red (we dont do that Bred shit here) colorway. The Air Jordan VI dropped in the Black/Infrared colorway, and it had Nike Air on the back. Tomorrow the Air Jordan XI will hit stores in the Playoff version that Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls went 72-10 in.

Its impressive that Jordans giving its diehard fans, and the general public, the chance to buy versions of the shoes that made Jordans footwear legacy. And the brand is doing it the right way. People often talk about the glory days of 10 or more years ago, but lets be honest for a second. If you were into retro sneakers at that time, you were buying garbage. The Jordans werent true-to-form. The midsoles chipped and fell apart, and the majority of everything Nike made, that wasnt an Air Force 1 or a super-limited Tier Zero model, was crap. Wale even rapped about competition cracking like the paint on Steve Nashs Air Max 90s.

In the past few years the sneaker industry across the boardfrom Adidas, to New Balance, to Diadora, to Nikehas seen an increased focus on recreating sneakers from yesteryear that actually look like they did 20 or more years ago. And its been great. Ive been able to get Adidas ZX shoes that look like theyre from 1989, and I couldnt be happier.

Too many shoes that came out wonky looking, due to the fact that brands were trying to make retros without the proper lasts or sourcing the same materials. Its like trying to redraw a painting off memory, rather seeing the art in front of you.

Jordan Brand has remade its best-known models with accurate insoles, logos, and boxes. If I was into them, Id be happy, which makes me believe its consumers are at the moment.

The Black Cement Air Jordan IIIs from last year were really good, too. People were buying pairs by the boatload. It also looks like the Air Jordan 1 is coming back soon in its 1985 shape, as well as the Nike Air Shipthe shoe that Nike has lied about year after year saying that the Air Jordan 1 was the sneaker the NBA banned Jordan from wearing when it was actually the Ship. Now its coming back in the original White/Red colorway. I wont be buying a pair, but there are people who have wanted them for years who have expressed interest in them.

As the whole retro thing gets older and older, there are people who remember the wave of retro sneakers from the 2000s and want to make it better. They see the mistakes of the past (like releasing the Air Jordan VI with a Jumpman logo on the back) and are taking the time to make it right. Anyone should do that with their job really. Spend the extra effort to make sure everythings correct. Dont cut corners. Its deeper than sneakers, but thats another conversation. Jordan Brand hasnt been doing that lately, and its something I can respect. Yada, yada, something, something Travis Scotts sneakers were popular, too.

First Look At The Jordan Why Not ZER0.3 – Sneaker News

Russell Westbrook, including his ill-defined and often chaotically described personality, is often difficult to truly encapsulate tangibly, yet with his Jordan signatures, the athlete has done well to give way to personal expression and subtle anecdotes on his life off the court. Though the line has ushered in many an impactful release prior, a new year means a new update, and his Why Not ZER0.3 delivers on the very aesthetic theyve tried to achieve since its inaugural silhouette years back.

Gracing the new decade almost immediately, the pair borrows heavily from its direct predecessor, taking the general shape and ironing out the kinks with reinforced paneling, extra stitching all around, and even a brand new midsole mold. The latter component, with an extra layering topped along the side walls, affixes the most colorful feature across the entire kit: a tread whose patterns and hues display an abashedly retro-inspired mosaic that the rest of the upper then follows quite loosely. Among this, grays see to the most frequent use, diverting in shade across mesh to smooth leather overlay with some even donning a white noise print or circular shapes. Linings adorn with sultry purples, pieces sew together with bright, neon threads eye stays doing the same in their looped webbing while more structural enhancements, such as the added strap across the midfoot or the two-piece tongue and ankle, sit in the background of this aptly energetic design.

Grab a detailed look at the GS set right here and find it rolling out to select retailers and Nike.com on January 2nd.
