Global Futurist and Business Forecaster Jack Uldrich to Keynote CIO Executive Summit

Acclaimed global futurist, best-selling author and business forecaster Jack Uldrich has been selected to deliver the keynote address at the 2012 New Jersey CIO Executive Summit. In addition to covering future trends in information technology, mobile computing, social networking and "Big Data," Uldrich will also discuss the need for "unlearning."

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 04, 2012

The title of Uldrichs presentation will be "Constant Change is the New Normal" and the material presented will be based on a combination of insights from his latest book, "Foresight 2020: A Futurist Explores the Trends Transforming Tomorrow" and his 2011 best-seller, "Higher Unlearning: 39 Post-Requisite Lessons for Achieving a Successful Future." The presentation, which will cover trends in information and communication technologies, robotics, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and business analytics, is designed to provide CIO's a solid foundation upon which they can create their own successful futures. A synopsis of some of Uldrichs ideas on information technologies can be found in this article, 10 Future Mobile Trends for CIOs to Consider Today.

Uldrich will provide an overview of how technological change is upending long-standing information technology (IT) models as well as discuss why these future trends will demand unlearning. Uldrich, who has been hailed as "America's Chief Unlearning Officer" will conclude his talk by reviewing the consequences of not embracing the concept of unlearning. Throughout his presentation, Uldrich will use vivid analogies and memorable stories, drawn from a wide spectrum of industries, to ensure his message of change "sticks" with his audience.

In the past year, Uldrich has addressed hundreds of business and trade groups from around the world, including delivering customized keynote presentations to The Chief Learning Officers Summit, PepsiCo, Southern Company, Cisco, IBM, WiPro, The California Agriculture Summit, Parsons Brinckerhoff, various YPO and WPO groups, and General Electric.

WIC 2012 — Interview with Yesim Kunter // A Play Session – Video

WIC 2012 -- Interview with Yesim Kunter // A Play Session
Have had the chance to participate in a play session with Yesim Kunter. She is a Senior Futurist and Play Expert and was with Hasbro UK. During a play session we constructed several metaphores with wood, plastic, glue,... to attack these items later with cool NERF guns. The Play Session was to experience the importance of "Fun" element while engaging into activity and how this can transform into out product innovation and brand development. I like Yesim so much cause she is not creating crazy games, she rather gives guidance utilizing "Gamification" of business while having the scientific background. Eg the different patterns of Play: Imaginative Play (What is my role, What is the scenario, How can I connect), Creative Play (Fun, Silly Ideas), Active Play (Strategy, Syncing up with together, space, environment), Strategic Play (to win, to be better, more)From:fabsinnovationtvViews:0 0ratingsTime:05:19More inScience Technology

Are We Close to A Skynet Takeover? – Video

Are We Close to A Skynet Takeover?
Experts at the prestigious University of Cambridge will conduct research into the "extinction-level risks" posed to humanity by artificially intelligent robots. The Cambridge Project for Existential Risk is dedicated to "ensuring that our own species has a long-term future" by studying the risks posed by AI, nanotechnology and biotechnology. "The scientists said that to dismiss concerns of a potential robot uprising would be "dangerous," reports the BBC. The project was co-founded by Huw Price, Bertrand Russell Professor of Philosophy at Cambridge, Martin Rees, Emeritus Professor of Cosmology Astrophysics at Cambridge, and Jaan Tallinn, the co-founder of Skype. It also counts amongst its advisers Max Tegmark, Professor of Physics, MIT and George M Church, Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School. An article written by Tallinn and Price warns that artificially intelligent computers or robots could take over "the speed and direction of technological progress itself," and shape the environment of planet earth to their own ends while displaying about as much concern for humanity as we do for a bug on the windscreen. Far from being resigned to works as science fiction such as in the Terminator films, the threat posed by a potential future "rise of the robots" has never been closer to reality. The study echoes the predictions of respected author, inventor and futurist Ray Kurzweil, renowned for his deadly accurate technological forecasts. http://www.infowars.com ORDER THIS ...From:InfowarsHeadlineHDViews:0 7ratingsTime:08:55More inNonprofits Activism
