Casino Trip May Have Caused Major League Baseball Team’s COVID-19 Outbreak – CardPlayer.com

A trip to a casino may have caused a COVID-19 outbreak among a Major League Baseball team.

Several members of the St. Louis Cardinals tested positive for the virus Thursday, causing the teams weekend series against the Milwaukee Brewers to be postponed. Its also likely that many of their games scheduled for this week will be postponed as well.

On Saturday afternoon, baseball analyst and former MLB player Jerry Hariston Jr. tweeted that he had been told that a few Cardinals went to a casino before the positive tests emerged.

At the time of Hairstons tweet, it was just a rumor, but longtime baseball insider Jon Heyman confirmed the rumor Monday morning. According to the tweet, three players and four staff members of the organization have tested positive.

The names of players at the casino or which casino they were spotted at, have not been released.

The Cardinals were in Minnesota last week, losing to the Twins on Wednesday before a scheduled off-day on Thursday and what was scheduled to the Brewers home opener Friday evening in Milwaukee. Depending on the travel schedule of the team, the players could have been at a casino in Minnesota, Missouri or in the Milwaukee area.

According to a Milwaukee NBC affiliate, members of the team were seen at a Milwaukee golf course Thursday, making it likely the players were at a Wisconsin casino.

The closest casino to the home park of the Milwaukee Brewers is Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. According to the American Gaming Associations casino tracker, the tribal property reopened for business June 8.

Germany Grapples with How to Handle iGaming Ahead of New State Treaty on Gambling – Pokerfuse

fdecomite, Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 License

Online gaming in Germany has been a hotly debated topic for years with the countrys 16 states offering differing views on the many aspects of legislating gambling over the internet, and that debate continues as the country continues to move forward with adopting a new igaming framework.

Following approval of the State Treaty for the New Regulation of Gaming by German lawmakers earlier this year, the proposed new law is slated to go into effect in July of 2021, pending a series of approvals and ratifications including sign-off by the European Commission.

But given that even if all goes well the new law wouldnt take effect for another year, many questions about how igaming should be handled in the interim have been raised.

Perhaps the biggest question is how to approach international online gaming operators that are licensed by other EU states and are currently offering services to people within Germany (which is permitted under EU law).

With certain aspects of the State Treaty for the New Regulation of Gaming requiring more restrictive behavior than what is currently being practiced by operators, lawmakers are not in agreement with how companies currently accepting German players should be viewed when the apply for licensing under the new law.

Suggestions for how companies that are currently offering wagers inside Germany and will seek to continue to do so under the new framework coming in 2021 should proceed during this transition period range from a total blackout to forgiveness.

Online gaming giant bet365 chose to pull its online casino games out of the German market towards the end of 2019, apparently in hopes that such an action would bode well for its aspirations to receive a license under the new framework, but there is no consensus among the German states as to if such a pause is required.

Some German states view the situation differently, with the reasoning that the market in its current state can be reasonably be viewed as grey, and that as long as operators are currently following the guidelines and restrictions set forth in the proposed State Treaty that will take effect next year, they are essentially acting in good faith and their operations should be tolerated during the transition period.

Under the new law, a deposit limit of 1000 per month across all igaming verticals will be implemented as a form of player protection. In addition, the stakes at slots will be limited to 1 and in-play betting on sporting events will be prohibited.

The law would also impose restrictions on how online gaming could be promoted, with a ban on igaming advertising during daytime hours.

Affiliate marketers will also face some restrictions. Though online casino review sites will apparently be allowed, the deals that affiliates have with operators will not be allowed to include compensation based on revenue sharing.

Should everything remain on its current course and the State Treaty for the New Regulation of Gaming is approved by the EU and ratified by the states, the law will be in force until December 31, 2028.

Hot iGaming Investment Opportunities – NuWireInvestor – NuWire Investor

In the past few years weve witnessed a massive growth in the iGaming industry. While other internet-based industries have faced major challenges, this industry, spurred on by technological advancements and internet operations mergers and acquisitions, has exploded.

Now, this growth has not come without any pains. As more countries have begun to legalize the industry, it has brought increased regulations, which is both good and bad for the industry. Its good, in that guidelines are being set for companies to follow. However, at the same time some of these regulations can be challenging, and costly, for companies to implement. There is no denying, though, that the igaming space is here to stay, and its growth will only continue from here. There may be no better time for investors on the hunt to jump in with both feet to this sector.

What is iGaming?

If you havent come across the term before, iGaming is a catch-all designation for all forms of online gambling. It stretches from online sports betting, esports, poker and bingo, to the more traditional slots and table games.

The businesses that are involved in the igaming industry include the casinos, of course, but also all the other businesses that service the casino operations. That includes affiliate companies who send players to the casinos, the companies who license the games to the online casinos and many other similar service providers.

iGaming locales

The most popular iGaming hubs in the world are Gibraltar, the United Kingdom and Malta. There are several other places as well that are becoming hubs in their own right, but these 3 locations stand out from the pack.

iGaming investment opportunities

The iGaming industry offers numerous opportunities for investors, depending on their risk profile and preferred investment vehicles. Here are some ideas for investors to explore:

Venture capital

With the growth of the igaming space, funds are beginning to show increased interest.

Vice Ventures, a New York City-based seed-stage venture capital firm in the USA, was recently launched to invest in good companies operating in what they call bad industries.

Angel investors with tech-specific skills and (typically) high-net-worth can decide to invest in iGaming startups and support them with capital and knowledge, helping them to grow, develop, and thrive in this massive sector.

The present and future of iGaming

Despite the big growth seen by the iGaming industry, current events have thrown a few recent roadblocks. The biggest online gambling companies have experienced mixed fortunes depending on which parts of their portfolio of products have been exposed to the pandemic.

Those companies who are heavily weighted on the online casino side of things, have exploded with record numbers. With more people stuck at home, and starving for entertainment, the online casino industry was positioned for huge gains.

One the other side, these companies who were weighted on sports better, have taken a huge hit to their business. Without any sporting events taking place, it was of course difficult for companies to handle the level of wagers they had become accustomed to. The good news is that most sports are now back, or on their way back, so it should hopefully be just a temporary setback for the industry.

According to recent predictions, the online gambling market may approach $1 trillion in less than a decade. The market valuations expect the global iGaming market to grow from $45.8 billion in 2017 to $94.4 billion by 2024.

No matter which way you slice it, this industry is poised for some incredible investment opportunities.

Sapar Karyagdyyev: Avoiding the pitfalls of a white-label solution – SBC News

Sapar Karyagdyyev, CEO of Gamingtec, looks at the key challenges when adopting a white-label solution, and why companies must exercise caution when entering the igaming market.

Using a white label offering is one of the most popular solutions for entrants interested in beginning their casino or sportsbook operations. Browsing the internet, one can find lots of tips and suggestions explaining how to start an online gambling business in just three, four, or six easy (as they promise) steps. However, almost nobody writes about the pitfalls one will inevitably face during the process.

Using evidence produced by Gamingtec, I would like to dispel some of the misconceptions about white labels as an easy solution, and perhaps offer some food for thought for those who wish to enter the business.

According to Statista, the global online gambling market is expected to be valued at more than $94bn in 2024. In 2019, the size of the market was almost $46bn, and that size is forecast to almost double in the upcoming years. The market is growing rapidly and it undoubtedly appears to be a lucrative field for investment.

As a consequence, it has become a highly competitive area: hundreds of casinos are launched and they fail daily. To run a competitive product, both a platform provider and a website owner should pay thorough attention to the preparation and launch process.

There are three main steps to start a casino: preparation, launch and marketing. They require a lot of time, attention and experience to be done well. The platform providers that launch dozens of casinos weekly in most cases use one-size-fits-all solutions and launch generic products that often go unnoticed as they do not meet the interests of the targeted audience.

There are lots of cases where such an out-of-box solution fits, however, more often than not, the operator will face challenges related to being one of many and struggling to stand out.

Most markets are being dominated by multitude of small and middle-sized operators, so-called value brands, which implies lower profit margins for all participants and perfect market conditions for the consumer. More brands compete for the same customer, better offers and the overall value that the customer receives.

Theoretically, such conditions dictate two possible profit making strategies; either be like everyone else but have a lower cost base or offer a product that has stand-out features and USPs for the end user. The out-of-box solution works perfectly well for the first option only.

An important factor for success is a fruitful collaboration between operator and platform provider. High-quality products grow from detailed planning and deep marketing research; this is by far the most important part of the whole process of launching a new gambling business. Fail-free operation, security of the information, high-quality content, payment options and professional customer support are all crucial for sustainability of the project.

Frequently, these issues are hidden and difficult for newcomers to foresee. Most are only revealed post-factum, after the launch of the product to customers and as too late or expensive to address. These issues then divert the operators attention from crucial acquisition-related activities.

Lets review those three main areas preparation, launch and marketing in more detail.

With regard to preparation, what are legal requirements for the target territory and advertising limitations? What is the compliance burden? The list of challenges is extensive. This step is important as it allows the adjustments of the TAM (total addressable market), acquisition costs and consequently, profit per user.

The above then drives requirements to the product and platform provider. What is important on the platform? CMS, player management system, bonus and promotions management system, game management system, payment system management interface, responsible gaming features, reporting engine, support of different roles for administrators, affiliate management system, anti-fraud system and CRM (retention system).

Marketing planning is key to develop a marketing strategy on how to launch a new casino to the market in question and collaborate with affiliates, developing a unique proposition that will drive customers to you and not others.

Budgeting? Plan for at least for the first three years.

The launch involves all work related to UX/UI, content, texts, compliance functionalities, personnel training, etc. Ensuring that the product quality and UX doesnt contradict your marketing strategy.

In considering marketing, determine the positioning of the company, pre- and post-launch advertising campaigns, attraction and retention of players, networking with the affiliates.

Those platform providers that offer unique approaches achieve good results. However, this is also a more difficult route to pursue. Custom solutions, by default, mean slower speed and lower quantity. Impact from a failed project is higher as one doesnt have another 100 white-labels to fall back on.

Heres three tips to start a beneficial partnership with the platform provider:

Why is white label a good solution for beginners?

Despite some of the pitfalls that I have outlined, I also wanted to give both sides of the argument, explaining that white-label solution can in fact be a good, viable option for beginners in the igaming sector.

Firstly, you receive your own branded product (you will not be a franchise). You will also be able to save both time and effort: the platform provider takes care of contracts with suppliers, licensing, web hosting, and so on. You cooperate with a team of professionals that can guide you through the process and offer advice.

A white-label brand is a test drive to understand if you have enough sources to involve and retain players, and organise a complete development of the project.

To conclude, the white label is not a quick and easy solution, but it is a reliable and effective one. If you cooperate with a platform provider that focuses on your project and launches a unique and personalised website with clear goals and a timeline, then you start a successful business with a high probability.

5 Best Waterproof Phone Cases for iPhones and Androids in 2020 – Cond Nast Traveler

A few years back, I convinced a couple of friends to go on a road trip to a Pennsylvania casino for some frivolous birthday fun. I figured Id celebrate by taking a gamble and moving up from my normal penny slots, so I took a quick bathroom break to mentally prep. Cut to: a splash, and the visual of my phone swimming in the toilet bowl. Sure enough, I had left my phone in my jeans back pocket.

Eventually, after hurrying back to New York City to use Staples TekDry machine, which could zap liquid out of tech devices, I was able to save all my yet-to-be-downloaded pictures and my phone went (somewhat) back to normal. But that one careless moment ruined the entire trip. So instead of further testing my luck, I invested in a waterproof phone case. Once I snapped it on, my water-logged worries were history.

Phone wipeouts are the worst, Izzy Tihanyi, founder of a San Diego-based surf school, Surf Diva, says. Especially while traveling, your phone is your concierge, travel agent, and tour guide all in one.

During surf lessons, she doubles up with a hard plastic waterproof case inside a plastic pouch lanyard that she tucks in her rash guard. And she advises not to skimp on quality. The hard case must be from a reputable brand or it wont function properly with the touch screen, Tihanyi explains, adding that the cheap ones wont hold up the waterproof seal.

Tech care company Asurion reports seeing an 80 percent rise in water and liquid claims from June through August last year, a time when many travelers are out on the water. The companys tech expert Gary Pitts points out that no two phones are created equal, so its essential to first find out how waterproof your phone is. For instance, the iPhone 11 and Pixel 4 both have an IP68 rating, which means they can survive being submerged in 13 feet of water for up to 30 minutes, while older phones that are IP65 can only be splashed gently.

But if youve had a screen or battery replaced, be aware that after being disassembled, the waterproofing is no longer fully effective due to the protective coating seal being broken, Pitts says. He adds that cracked screens can also be sensitive to water.

Whether youre looking to waterproof your phone around the clock or only for specific water sports or activities, here are the best waterproof phone cases to ensure nothings ever left out to dry on your travels.

A guide to the Malta online gambling license – Yogonet International

T

he Maltese online gambling license is one of the most sought after in the world. The gold standard of casino regulation, the license gives the holder an instant reputation boost and lets people know they mean business. But it comes at a price. With high application costs and gaming tax, it tends to be geared more towards big-name operators. Of course, it can still be a perfectly valid choice for smaller companies with a bit more capital behind them.

Why Malta?

The Republic of Malta sits in the Mediterranean Sea, equidistant between Sicily and the coast of North Africa. A former British colony, its workforce speaks English and Maltese, as well as Italian. Many also speak French, Germany, and various Nordic languages, due to the popularity of the online gambling industry.

It has a population of around 515,000 people over just 316km, making it one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Its economy was once based solely on tourism, a sector that thrives until this day. But now, financial services, corporate services, iGaming, bitcoin, blockchain, and other kinds of fintech have taken hold.

Malta offers a friendly business environment and great fiscal incentives including a full imputation taxation system which can bring the effective tax rate down to the single digits. Furthermore, Malta is a full-fledged EU Member State and is popular with all the big names in international online gambling.

Why do I need a license?

Any entity that wishes to conduct online gambling in any form, is required to hold a license to do so. Having a license allows you to open a payments account, get payment processors, and negotiate affiliate and advertising deals. Furthermore, it builds trust between the operator and the client which is key in such a competitive market.

If you operate without a license, you are breaking the law and can face prison, fines, or being barred from working in online gambling.

What are the requirements for the Maltese gaming license?

The Malta Gambling Authority which handles all licensing and supervisory matters are known for their stringent requirements. Applicants will need to provide identification, proof of address, criminal record checks, and references from their bank and professionals including a lawyer or accountant. In addition to this, they must prove they have the relevant experience to conduct the activity and they will undergo a fit and proper test.

A detailed business plan must be submitted as must details of all gaming software, hosting, third party contracts, and the Random Number Generation Certification. Applicants are also required to attend an in-person meeting with the Authority.

Applicants must also be aware of the obligations to conduct regular audits periodically, as well as to conduct them upon the request of the Authority.

What kind of licenses are there?

Up until two years ago, there were several different classes of license that could be obtained in Malta. The type of license depended on the type of games you planned to offer. The MGA then streamlined the process and created two options: B2B and B2C. There is no need for additional licenses or add ons, instead, the operator picks which class is suitable and which is sufficient.

Is it hard to get a Malta gambling license?

It is never easy to get an online gambling license as authorities want to be sure they are issuing them to reputable and honest companies. After all, it is in their best interests to keep the reputation of their jurisdiction intact. But some jurisdictions are harder than others.

There is a lot of time and paperwork involved in acquiring the Maltese license, as well as in-person interviews with regulators. KYC and due diligence are in-depth, and care needs to be taken to properly implement AML/CFT, responsible gaming, and underage gaming policies.

Malta is a member of the EU and as such, is bound by the 5th AML Directive which seeks to limit money laundering in the bloc. Maltese online gambling operators must adhere to these rules or risk penalties.

The whole process can take between 10-12 weeks to complete, as long as all documents are in order and submitted promptly.

What about taxes?

Malta levies a 35% corporate tax rate on all companies. The great thing is it also utilises a full imputation system whereby dividends distributed to shareholders are entitled to a tax credit that can be equal to the tax on the profits from which the dividends are paid. In other words, this can bring the effective tax rate down to as little as 5%.

It is also important to note that Malta levies additional gaming taxes on online gambling companies. These are based on annual gross gaming revenue and are laid out in a tiered system.

The last word

The Malta online gambling license is not for everyone but it is a license we suggest for established, multinational operators. For entrepreneurs and startups, we suggest the Curacao or Kahnawake license, but as these clients mature, we often assist with their acquisition of the Maltese license as well.

Needless to say, they were not commendable.

Terms and conditions were player unfriendly, payouts delayed or at least slow, washout limits low and pending times unnecessarily long.

The proof of these original complaints you can find in affiliate groups dedicated Direct Support thread.

Catena Media set to achieve best quarter ever in Q2 despite pandemic impact – Gambling Insider – In-depth Analysis for the Gaming Industry

Catena Media expects to post record quarterly revenue and profit for Q2 2020, despite the impact caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

In its trading update, the affiliate said that revenue from April to June is likely to reach 27.7m ($31.7m), a 17% year-on-year rise.

Adjusted EBITDA is estimated to be in the range of 14.5m and 14.8m, which would represent a record quarterly profit performance and an increase of 52% from 2019.

Catena credited the rise in revenue and profit to the performance of its casino segment, with the larger share of the segment resulting from a lack of sport between March and May, due to the pandemic.

Back in March, the affiliate said it would be focusing on online casino to make up for a lack of live sport, and both its AskGamblers and Japanese business recorded their own record revenue during Q2.

However, Catenas sports business was naturally affected by the pandemic, which recovered towards the end of the quarter, as all the major football leagues returned.

New Depositing Customers (NDCs) for Q2 declined 13% quarter-on-quarter, but was 4% up from 2019, at 104,000.

Catena Media CEO Per Hellberg, said: Given the extraordinary global circumstances, Q2 was a very challenging quarter, so we are happy to report that the measures taken by the company helped us achieve the best quarter ever in the history of the company.

Catena said it will publish its full Q2 results on 19 August.

Marina Bay Sands said to end lawsuit with $9.1 million payment to former patron – The Straits Times

SINGAPORE (BLOOMBERG) - Marina Bay Sands, the Singapore casino run by billionaire Sheldon Adelson's Las Vegas Sands Corp, has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by a former patron, meeting his demand for $9.1 million, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Marina Bay Sands also agreed to allow Mr Wang Xi back into the casino as long as he abides by its policies, said the person, who asked not be identified because the matter is confidential. A spokesman for Marina Bay Sands declined to comment. Mr Wang also declined to comment through his lawyer at Rajah & Tann Singapore.

Mr Wang sued the Singapore casino last year to recover $9.1 million that he said was transferred to other patrons in 2015 without his approval. The Singapore Police Force also investigated Mr Wang's complaint, Bloomberg News reported in May.

According to the suit, Marina Bay Sands told Mr Wang it received authorisation letters signed by him in Macao for the disputed transactions. Mr Wang said his signature had been copied and pasted on to the authorisation letters.

Marina Bay Sands told him the originals had been destroyed by the Singapore firm's Macao affiliate for "reasons of confidentiality", the lawsuit said. The casino operator "failed to verify whether the Disputed Authorization Letters were, in fact, signed by the plaintiff before effecting the disputed transactions",according to the lawsuit.

The out-of-court settlement in June ends a dispute that helped trigger probes of the Singapore casino by local authorities. There is a "non-admission" of liability from both sides as part of the settlement, the person said.

The United States Department of Justice is also scrutinising whether anti-money laundering procedures had been breached in the way the Singapore casino handles high rollers. The Justice Department in January issued a grand jury subpoena to a former compliance chief of Marina Bay Sands, seeking an interview or documents on "money laundering facilitation" and any abuse of internal financial controls, according to a copy of the subpoena seen by Bloomberg News.

Singapore is considering tighter regulations at its casinos to prevent money laundering and financing for terrorism, according to the Casino Regulatory Authority. The regulator and the Ministry of Home Affairs are reviewing the legislative thresholds in the Casino Control Act with a view to lowering them to the global standard of US$3,000 (S$4,200). In practice, the regulator said last month that it has already arranged with casino operators to drop the threshold for cash transactions that are subject to due diligence.

Marina Bay Sands is one of the most profitable casinos in the world, accounting for about a third of operating income at the Las Vegas-based parent. The Asian operations, which also include Macau, contributed about 85 per cent of the company's US$13.7 billion in revenue last year, and have helped make Mr Adelson one of the richest men in the US.

Gaming Contributed 1.56bn to the Economy of Malta – European Gaming Industry News

Reading Time: 4 minutes

The economy of mga received 1.56bn from gaming in 2019, which represents a 9.6% year-on-year growth according to data from the 2019 report of the Malta Gaming Authority AKA the MGA.

According to the report, theres been an ongoing enforcement drive by the MGA, during which it has succeeded in cancelling 14 casino licenses in 2019 alone. Theres also been a 3.9% increase in the number of casino firms and sites in operation on which you can do things like play online blackjack and crowd favourite slots on taking the total number to 294, which is still below what it was in 2017.

A look at the 1.56bn additional profit and the total value of the goods/services that the casino industry produces, minus the total consumed value, placed the gaming sector at the third position in the list of the private sectors that contributed highest to the economy of Malta. It stands just behind the retail, food, and accommodation industry at number one and professional services at number two.

Talking about this, the MGA also proposed that gaming also helps in the generation of added value through other ancillary and affiliate services to other main sectors like the real estate, distributive trades, catering services and hospitality, ICT activities, financial sector and professional services sector.

In 2019, the gaming industry provided up to 7,417 jobs, which is a 9.2% year-on-year increase. Out of the total number of jobs mentioned above, the online gaming industry had 6,593. Now, the MGA did not announce the total gaming revenue for the industry, but it went ahead to announce the revenues gained by different types of games.

The first set is made up of the player versus house casino games, and this accounts for more than 56% of the total revenue, against the 55.4% of the previous year. In this category, the games that took the centre stage were slots, and they accounted for more than 74.4% of the revenue made by this category. The table games stood at a distant 21.5%.

The second category is made up of sports betting, and this raked in 36.3% of the total revenue, signalling a drop in the 39.0% that it generated the year before. The most prevalent game in this sector is the game of football, which brought in 76.4% of the total revenue, while the contribution by tennis stood at 7.7%, and basketball contributed 5.9%.

For the third category, we have player versus player, games and this raked in 7.7% of the total revenue. Poker contributed 81.9% to this, and betting exchanges brought in 10.3%.

The body also has another category of games that it gives licenses for, and this type 4 license is given for controlled skill games. But because the revenue that came through this was very minimal in the scheme of things, it wasnt added.

There was also a 12.7% growth in the number of active player profiles in online casinos operating with a license from Malta, with the number standing at 20.4m at the moment.

14 casinos were cancelled while the MGA was enforcing its regulations in 2019. This is an increase from the 8 that were cancelled in 2018 and 3 that received the same treatment in 2017. Also, the regulatory body sent 11 licensed casinos into suspension, the same number they did in 2018.

They placed great emphasis on ensuring that the increase in enforcement and compliance they are embarking on reflects its structure and governance. According to the chief executive of the MGA, Heathcliff Faruggia, they committed more money to compliance, to ensure that the risk-based approach to enforcement and regulation is implemented.

There was an increase in the total number of companies operating with licenses in Malta as well, going from 283 in 2018 to 294 in 2019. But this is still not up to what was the case in 2017 when they had 296 companies. There was also an increase in the total number of active licenses from 286 to 298.

They issued new licenses to 53 out of 89 applicants. This is below the 93 that were handed licenses in 2018, and the explanation given by MGA about this is that it was because of the alterations they made in their licensing system from August 2018. The new provision holds that there wouldnt be any need for new licenses for operators who already possess the critical gaming supply or gaming service license when they want to start offering products that are captured by a different class of license.

The MGA also delved into ad hoc responsible gambling audits in 2019.

For Faruggia, through these audits, the firm has been able to ensure that the lawful safeguards that each license enforces are effective and that they keep relaying information to the authority on how best to protect the vulnerable in the sector.

In 2019, the regulator gained 81.7m, which is an 8.6% increase. Most of the funds were from levies and compliance contributions, and it had an 8.1% increase. Also, 8.1m was made in license fees, which is a 16.1% growth, while fees for license application brought in 477,605 revenue, which is a 16.6% growth. The other sources capped this up with 817,276, which is a 14.9% drop.

When it comes to expenses, the MGA spent 13.2m with staff costs totalling 7.2m, while depreciation and amortization, plus general and administrative costs stood at 1.2m.

In order to be ready for the future, the MGA did a survey of the licenses in April 2020, to study the impact of the current health crisis on the gaming sector. From a poll conducted for 151 B2C operators, there would be a drop of 12% in gaming revenue in 2020, and this is because of the drop in sports betting revenue. The revenue is predicted to experience a 40% decline. Also, 64 B2Bs were surveyed, and they also pointed to an expected 20% decline in revenue.

According to Faruggia, there has been an increased emphasis on the need to protect vulnerable players, especially now that our daily lives and finances have been heavily disrupted, and many are in the dark about their financial future. But then, the industry is also experiencing huge pressure through operational costs, and they have to consider this in line with the new reality.

The body is making efforts to ensure that operators with licenses adhere to the guidelines, while those without licenses, who are out there to make illegal money and put the public in danger are stopped.
