Rna Modification – Video

Rna Modification
ll4.me Rna Modification The presence of modified nucleotides in cellular RNAs has been known for decades and over 100 distinct RNA modifications have been characterized to date. While the exact role of many of these modifications is still unclear, many are highly conserved across evolution and most contribute to the overall fitness of the organism. In recent years, new methods and bioinformatics approaches have been developed for the dissection of modification pathways and functions. These methods intersect a number of related fields, ranging from RNA processing to comparative genomics and systems biology. In addition, many of the techniques described in this volume have broad applicability, particularly in regards to the isolation, characterization, and reconstitution of ribonucleoprotein complexes, expanding the experimental repertoire available to all RNA researchers. Eukaryotic Transcription Factors - , David S. Latchman
ll4.me Eukaryotic Transcription Factors - , David S. Latchman Transcription, or the process by which DNA produces RNA, is a central aspect of gene expression. Transcription factors regulate transcription during development and in disease states. As such, it is critical for researchers to gain a good understanding of the relationship between the structure of various families of transcription factors and their function, as well as roles in human disease. Since publication of the Fourth Edition, there have been major advances, notably in the areas of chromatin remodeling and genome-scale analyses. This complete update includes all new coverage of the latest developments, from enabling genomic technologies to studies on the importance of post-translational modifications beyond phosphorylation events.Brand new coverage in this edition includes: * Potential of transcription factors as therapeutic targets in human disease * Importance of histone modifications * Use of genome-based sequence analysis and high-throughput methods * Applications of the chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay * Transcriptional elongation * Regulation by post-translational modifications * Regulatory networks and bioinformaticsAuthor: Latchman, David Author: Latchman, David S. Modern Major Food-and-All – Video

Modern Major Food-and-All
This is a video about nutrition for a class, yes it #39;s cheesy (get it?) and lame, but it was fun! Ish. Yes, Mr. Ribbins is my teacher. Ignore the solid 41 second disclaimer! All food was later eaten/drank Anyways, enjoy! Lyrics To like this song you don #39;t have to major in a biology, Although this video might be a good study for psychology. This tune #39;s not great I know I won #39;t just sit here and prevaricate, But here #39;s a little ditty about all the stuff that I just ate. I #39;ve drank so much water you can just can me a new kind of tree, It helps dissolve the complex B as well as the vitamin C. I #39;ve got so much "C" in my diet you can go call me Neptune; Eating right is the whole point and message of this nutrient tune. ______________________________________________________________ Micro, macro minerals are some good things that humans should eat, But thanks to this class, getting these things is no Herculean feat. To think of any other class is simply just too terrible, To be in Mr. Ribbins #39; class is simply not comparable. There #39;s this awesome field of study called gastroenterology You might not stomach it, but it might just be the thing for me. For example, in digestion muscles and mucous lend a hand, As well as how food without nutrients will always taste so bland. No dinner is complete without a little bit of cheese on top, From whence I once came, calcium is just in every meal nonstop. American Heart Association reports telltale visible signs of aging may predict heart disease – Video

American Heart Association reports telltale visible signs of aging may predict heart disease
If you look old, your heart may feel old, according to research presented at the American Heart Association #39;s Scientific Sessions 2012. In a new study, those who had three to four aging signs mdash; receding hairline at the temples, baldness at the head #39;s crown, earlobe crease, or yellow fatty deposits around the eyelid (xanthelasmata) mdash; had a 57 percent increased risk for heart attack and a 39 percent increased risk for heart disease. "The visible signs of aging reflect physiologic or biological age, not chronological age, and are independent of chronological age," said Anne Tybjaerg-Hansen, MD, the study #39;s senior author and professor of clinical biochemistry at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Researchers analyzed 10885 participants 40 years and older (45 percent women) in the Copenhagen Heart Study. Of these, 7537 had frontoparietal baldness (receding hairline at the temples), 3938 had crown top baldness, 3405 had earlobe crease, and 678 had fatty deposits around the eye. In 35 years of follow-up, 3401 participants developed heart disease and 1708 had a heart attack.From:mastercreator1000Views:0 0ratingsTime:01:24More inScience Technology

Marine Biogeochemical Cycles - Open University,
ll4.me Marine Biogeochemical Cycles - Open University, This Volume belongs to a series on Oceanography. It is designed so that it can be read on its own, or used as a supplement in oceanogrphy courses. After a brief introduction to sea-floor sediments, the book shows how the activities of marine organisms cycle nutrients and other dissolved constituents within the oceans, and influence the rates at which both solid and dissolved material is removed to sediments. It goes on to review the carbonate system and shows how sediments that come from continental areas may be transported to the deep sea, explores what sea-floor sediments have taught us about the history of the oceans, and describes the biological and chemical processes that continue long after sediments have been deposited on the deep sea-floor.Author: University,, Open Publisher: Butterworth-Heinemann Illustration: N Language: ENG Title: Marine Biogeochemical Cycles Pages: 00130 (Encrypted PDF) On Sale: 2005-05-31 SKU-13/ISBN: 9780750667937 Category: Science : Life Sciences - Biochemistry This Volume belongs to a series on Oceanography. The Toxicology Of Carbon Nanotubes – Video

The Toxicology Of Carbon Nanotubes
ll4.me The Toxicology Of Carbon Nanotubes The widespread and increasing use of carbon nanotubes in scientific and engineering research and their incorporation into manufactured goods has urged an assessment of the risks and hazards associated with exposure to them. The field of nanotoxicology studies the toxicology of nanoparticles such as carbon nanotubes and has become a major growth area aimed towards risk assessment of nanoparticles. Compiled by a team of leading experts at the forefront of research, this is the first book dedicated to the toxicology of carbon nanotubes. It provides state-of-the-science information on how and why they are so potentially dangerous if breathed in, including their similarities to asbestos. The book examines various aspects of carbon nanotubes, from their manufacture and aerodynamic behaviour to their effects at molecular level in the lungs. It is invaluable to the many groups involved with research in this area, as well as to regulators and risk assessors.
