WITH RYANAIR TO SARDINIA…… – Video

WITH RYANAIR TO SARDINIA......
Sardinia is a jewel in the Mediterranean! Especially thanks to Ryanair tourists know this beautiful island! This video gives a small impression of what the island has to offer. Culture - Cagliari, Sassari, Oristano, are just some beautiful cities. But the island has a beautiful nature with its cork and olive forests. The beautiful beaches with azure blue water and white sandy beaches .... The road from Alghero to Bosa, Cagliari to Villasimius Ghia, Olbia to Cala Sabina, are only a few beaches ... The public transport is excellent. Cagliari has a large bus station (with almost all destinations) The railway station is close to the bus. The train crosses almost the entire island. http://www.youtube.com http://www.youtube.com http://www.youtube.com http://www.youtube.comFrom:railcaphunterViews:13 0ratingsTime:08:49More inTravel Events

Volunteers search beaches for missing Mass. girl

GLOUCESTER, Mass. (AP) Volunteers and trained dogs have searched beaches in Rockport and Gloucester for any new traces of a missing toddler after remnants of pants that might have been hers washed onshore.

The search Wednesday found no more clues to the April disappearance of 2-year-old Caleigh Harrison of Gloucester. Shes believed to have drowned on a beach outing with her mother and sister. Tattered pink capris similar to hers washed up last week with some lobster gear after recent ocean storms.

The search included Gloucesters Good Harbor Beach, where the pants were found, and nearby Long Beach in Rockport, where Caleigh disappeared, as well as nearby marshes.

Caleighs parents told reporters at the scene theyre hoping learn what happened to her and put their daughter to rest.

Restorative Flood in Grand Canyon Starts Sunday Night

The Colorado River will gush at flood stage starting Sunday night (Nov. 18), giving rafters a rare thrill and hopefully restoring beaches and native fish habitat in the Grand Canyon.

The six-day-long water release from Glen Canyon Dam is the first of many floods planned by the Department of the Interior through 2020. The floods, or "high-flows," are an effort to restore the river's natural environment for both tourists and wildlife.

"The high-flow does mimic a natural event, and that is a good thing for the ecosystem," said Glen Knowles, chief of the adaptive management group at the Bureau of Reclamation's Salt Lake City office.

Since the dam was completed in 1966, the Colorado River, once copper-colored with sediment, now runs clear. While sand and mud piles up behind the concrete barrier, natural beaches and sandbars have disappeared, allowing predatory non-native fish such as rainbow trout to flourish. Bushes and trees, once buried or ripped away during periodic floods, now choke popular camping sites for river rafters. [Top 10 Most Visited National Parks]

Deluge to build new beaches, habitat

The goal of the flood is to park sediment high along the walls of the Grand Canyon.

"The beaches have changed rather dramatically since the dam was put into place, and we can rebuild those beaches to an extent," said Knowles, who was involved in planning and developing the high-flow release protocol. "The same sandbars that create the beaches also create backwater habitat for native fish," he told OurAmazingPlanet.

The high-flow release plan was announced in May by Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar. Developed after more than 16 years of planning and testing, the strategy allows flood releases on short notice, without extensive environmental review or planning, through 2020. The order calls for flows from 31,500 to 45,000 cubic feet (892 to 1,274 cubic meters) per second for up to 96 hours in March-April and October-November,.

Flood tests were conducted in 1996, 2004 and 2008. These three blasts helped rebuild beaches and protect native fish such as the federally threatened humpback chub, but the newly deposited sediment quickly eroded. Researchers also found that without sufficient sediment below the dam dumped by the Paria and Little Colorado rivers the reservoir water was too cold for the humpback chub to spawn.

The new plan authorizes dam releases when enough sediment has been deposited by the free-flowing Paria and Little Colorado, Knowles said. Tests by the U.S. Geological Survey found the Paria River dropped 538,000 metric tons of sand into the Colorado River between late July and the end of October, so there's enough sediment to merit a flood now. Search of Gloucester, Rockport beaches yields no answers in Caleigh Harrison disappearance

By Martine Powers and Martin Finucane, Globe Staff

GLOUCESTER Twenty-five volunteers and five dogs unsuccessfully searched beaches in Rockport and Gloucester today for the remains of Caleigh Harrison, the toddler who is believed to have been swept to sea from a Rockport beach in April.

Caleigh Harrison (Family photo)

Six bone fragments were found, but a forensic anthropologist determined they were all animal bones, said Maureen Flatley of Mission for the Missing, the nonprofit group that organized the search.

The searches were conducted over a period of about 5 hours at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, and Pebble Beach and Long Beach in Rockport. Long Beach is where Caleigh disappeared.

The searches came after a pair of pants were found last week at Good Harbor Beach, which is a about a mile south of Long Beach, that may have belonged to the toddler.

Caleighs parents spoke of their hope for closure at a news conference this morning at the concession stand at Good Harbor Beach, a summertime family favorite, before the searches began.

Anthony Harrison, Caleigh's father, said, If we can find something concrete today, that would be great. You always have that hope. That never dies, but you also get to a point where you want some kind of closure, you want some answers. That would be Gods gift.

Allison Hammond, Caleighs mother, said she was pretty certain that Caleigh did get swept out to sea and her disappearance wasnt foul play, as family members once speculated. She said the past seven months have been challenging and finding some piece of evidence that would confirm Caleighs fate would offer closure.

But she also said she had mixed feelings because you dont want to hope that your daughter fell into the water and drowned while you were yards away. You dont want that.

Total Solar Eclipse once in a lifetime event captured in Australia
Video of Total Eclipse in Sidney Australia SYDNEY mdash; From boats bobbing on the Great Barrier Reef, to hot air balloons hovering over the rainforest, and the hilltops and beaches in between, tens of thousands of scientists, tourists and amateur astronomers watched as the sun, moon and Earth aligned and plunged northern Australia into darkness during a total solar eclipse Wednesday. Stubborn clouds that many feared would ruin the view parted -- somewhat -- in north Queensland, defying forecasts of a total eclipse-viewing bust and relieving spectators who had fanned out to glimpse the celestial phenomenon. "Immediately before, I was thinking, `Are we gonna see this? #39; And we just had a fantastic display -- it was just beautiful," said Terry Cuttle of the Astronomical Association of Queensland, who has seen a dozen total solar eclipses over the years. "And right after it finished, the clouds came back again. It really adds to the drama of it." Spectators whooped and clapped with delight as the moon passed between the sun and Earth, leaving a slice of the continent #39;s northeast in sudden darkness. Starting just after dawn, the eclipse cast its 150-kilometer (95-mile) shadow in Australia #39;s Northern Territory, crossed the northeast tip of the country and was swooping east across the South Pacific, where no islands are in its direct path. A partial eclipse was visible from east Indonesia, the eastern half of Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and southern parts of Chile and ...From:WerewolfmanNewsViews:0 0ratingsTime:01:34More inNews Politics

Crowds gather on the beaches of northern Australia on Tuesday in anticipation of a total solar eclipse that will begin early on Wednesday morning. We #39;re still hoping for good weather." A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly between the Sun and the Earth.
