BREAKING NEWS: North KOREA SUCCESSFULLY launches a LONG RANGE ROCKET putting a SATELLITE in ORBIT – Video

BREAKING NEWS: North KOREA SUCCESSFULLY launches a LONG RANGE ROCKET putting a SATELLITE in ORBIT
BREAKING NEWS: North KOREA SUCCESSFULLY launches a LONG RANGE ROCKET putting a SATELLITE in ORBIT North Korea launched a long-range rocket Wednesday morning despite international opposition and growing tensions in the region. Pyongyang claimed the Unha-3 rocket successfully delivered a scientific satellite into orbit. Seoul has strongly condemned the launch as a violation of UN resolutions, with the South Korean president calling for an emergency meeting over the issue. The launch was confirmed by officials at the South Korean Defense Ministry and its Joint Chiefs of Staff. "Shortly after liftoff, the Aegis radar system in the Yellow Sea detected the move," a senior South Korean military official said, Yonhap news agency reports. North Korea said the Unha-3 rocket delivered a Kwangmyongsong-3 satellite into orbit as planned. "The second version of satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 successfully lifted off from the Sohae Space Center by carrier rocket Unha-3 on Wednesday," the official Korean Central News Agency said. "The satellite entered its preset orbit." The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) reported that the North Korean missile deployed an object that appeared to achieve orbit, which would fall in line with Pyongyang #39;s claims about the nature of the launch. However critics believe this could be a ballistic missile test, which the UN has banned North Korea from conducting. North Korea Missile Launch Successful: White House Calls Act ‘Highly Provocative’ – Video

North Korea Missile Launch Successful: White House Calls Act #39;Highly Provocative #39;
North Korea Missile Launch Successful: White House Calls Act #39;Highly Provocative #39; White House calls nation #39;s first successful launch a "highly provocative act." WASHINGTON (AP) mdash; The White House was quick to condemn North Korea #39;s successful launch of a long-range rocket, calling it a "highly provocative act" that threatens regional security. Tuesday #39;s launch, which caught the world by surprise, apparently placed an object in Earth orbit, the North American Aerospace Defense Command said, but neither the missile nor debris from the launch posed a threat to North America. The launch directly violated UN Security Council resolutions and contravened North Korea #39;s international obligations, the White House said in a terse statement that labeled the launch "a highly provocative act." "This action is yet another example of North Korea #39;s pattern of irresponsible behavior. The United States remains vigilant in the face of North Korean provocations and fully committed to the security of our allies in the region," the statement from National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said. "Given this current threat to regional security, the United States will strengthen and increase our close coordination with allies and partners." "The international community must work in a concerted fashion to send North Korea a clear message that its violations of UN Security Council resolutions have consequences," Vietor added. North Korea Succesfully Fires Missile Defying International Commuity
North Korea testing the international community after successfully launching a rocket. That #39;s a North Korean television anchor announcing the news, saying a rocket has carried a new satellite into orbit. The North American Aerospace Defense Command did confirm that the rocket deployed an object that achieved orbit but it is unclear what that object was. This launch is better than the one North Korea did in April which is making countries like South Korea and Japan nervous about a potential nuclear threat. The country is prohibited from creating nuclear and missile-related technology under UN resolutions, making this an act of defiance. Some reports indicate the supplies to build the rocket came from Iranian sources, something Iran denies. In any case, the international community will be looking closely at North Korea for any more activity. The country has said this launch was to celebrate the Kim family rule which began back in 1948.From:intrendodotcomViews:1 0ratingsTime:01:27More inNews Politics

Canadian aerospace profits expected to drop on lower sales: Conference Board

By Ross Marowits, The Canadian Press

MONTREAL - Canadian aerospace industry profits will decline through the end of 2013 because of a slowdown in new aircraft orders, uncertainty in Europe and a six-month delay in Bombardier's CSeries aircraft, the Conference Board of Canada said Wednesday.

The think-tank expects industry profits will decline 30 per cent by the end of 2013 from the recent high of $710 million set in 2010.

Pre-tax earnings are expected fall to $504 million next year before nearly recovering to this year's level of $614 million by 2017.

Fierce competition and the strength of the Canadian dollar contribute to slim industry profit margins.

Conference Board senior economist Maxim Armstrong says the industry's outlook mirrors global economic trends.

"The aerospace industry is still coping with the lingering effects of the 200809 recession," Armstrong wrote in the latest edition of the board's Industrial Outlook.

"While new orders indicate that the industry is showing signs of recovery, the financial turmoil in Europe is creating uncertainty and making the comeback difficult."

Industry revenues surged last year but are expected to experience a correction in 2012.

Lower sales in the first half of this year are expected to push industry revenues down 5.4 per cent to $14.9 billion this year, before rising each year to reach $18.5 billion in 2017.

Young Eagles Fly In 12-08-12 | Flying in Pinehurst | Aircraft Video North Carolina
(Videotaped and produced by P3 Event Recording Services, p3ers.com.) The skies over Pinehurst, NC were crowded Saturday, December 8th, 2012 as local pilots provided a day of free aerial tours of Moore County to any child from ages 8-17 on a first-come, first-served basis. Sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter #1220, based at the Carthage Airport, Carthage, North Carolina, this semi-annual event is called the "Young Eagles Fly-in." A record was set last December with 275 participants. "Flying is a wonderful experience and possible gateway to a great career," according to Jim Murray, chapter coordinator. "The goal of the Young Eagles program is to introduce kids to the fun and excitement of flying, and perhaps get them interested in a career in aviation, engineering, meteorology, or some other aspect of the aerospace industry." Pinecrest High School Jr. AFROTC cadets staff the welcome desk and handle the paperwork that matches passengers to pilots. The Airport Authority contributes the fuel, and Boy Scout Troop 810 provides burgers and hot dogs for lunch. All of the pilots are volunteers and donate their time and their airplanes to share their love of flying. The Experimental Airplane Association sponsors the overall Young Eagles program, and operates the "EAA Air Academy" in Oshkosh, WI every summer. If the local chapter can fly a total of 500 or more kids during the entire year, two local students can be sent free of charge to the Air Academy for a ...From:Thomas PrimViews:6 0ratingsTime:13:05More inScience Technology
