Air France selects UTC Aerospace Systems for E-Jet MRO services

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Air France has selected UTC Aerospace Systems to be the maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO) provider for various actuation, air management and electrical systems on Embraer E-Jet fleets that Air France supports for its customers. This is UTC Aerospace Systems' first contract for E-Jet repairs with Air France. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (UTX).

The three-year agreement covers MRO services for the electric power generating system, electric power equipment, air management system, and flight systems on the airline's ERJ-170, ERJ-175 and ERJ-190 aircraft. The work will be performed by subsidiaries of UTC Aerospace Systems in Dijon, France and Maastricht, The Netherlands.

(ST Aerospace) to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner nacelle systems for both the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 and General Electric GEnx engines. The agreement enables ST Aerospace to offer a comprehensive range of nacelle MRO services using UTC Aerospace Systems' repair processes for customers worldwide.

ST Aerospace will invest in a wide range of repair and overhaul capabilities, and will maintain an inventory of aircraft components and parts to support Boeing 787 operators worldwide. REPRESENTATIVES from aerospace businesses across East Lancashire are being invited to attend a workshop to learn about the work of the Aerospace Growth Partnership, a joint government and industry initiative.

The session, at the Preston Marriott Hotel, on Thursday, will see business leaders discuss how the partnership could help them grow and attract new business.

The event, which is jointly hosted by Northwest Aerospace Alliance and aerospace trade organisation ADS, is the latest in a series of AGP roadshows across the UK to brief companies on the 2billion Aerospace Industrial Strategy and the National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme.

Graham Chisnall, deputy CEO and aerospace managing director, said: It has been a really exciting year for the aerospace sector and we have seen huge strides forward.
