Gran Turismo 7 1.18 update puts the brakes on free tickets exploit – The Loadout

Were sorry drivers, but its time to say goodbye to limitless Roulette rewards. Polyphony Digitals latest Gran Turismo 7 update, patch 1.18, has and we quote fixed an issue wherein it was possible to receive multiple Tickets repeatedly from Extra Menus. We know, we know Its a sad day for Gran Turismo 7 players, but this was an inevitable fix wasnt it? If youre reading this and wondering what the heck were even on about, allow us to explain.

Prior to the release of Gran Turismo 7 update 1.18, crafty players were able to collect an unlimited number of four-star and six-star engine Roulette Tickets from the Cafes Extra Menus. As seen in this video from growing content creator DigitalRelay, youd need to head to the Extra Menus menu in the My Collection section of Gran Turismo 7s Cafe.

From here, all you would need to do is select Menu One, then Menu Two, and then back out and head to your in-game Garage for a free four-star Roulette Ticket. Then, players would be able to go back into the Cafes Extra Menus and select Menu Three followed by Menu Two for a free six-star Roulette Ticket that guarantees a new engine.

It was a simple exploit, sure, but it was an effective one and something were going to miss. However, theres a handful of other fixes in this Gran Turismo 7 update that are well worth talking about.

Firstly, Polyphony Digital has fixed an issue wherein the save data would not load correctly from the server if playing on a console with no Gran Turismo 7 save data stored on it, or if multiple consoles were used. In addition to this, an update has been made to fix a glitch where an offline race would start in the Replay Camera mode after spectating a lobby and, cars should be labelled properly in a Circuit Experience replay.

Its not the largest Gran Turismo 7 update weve ever seen, but its a great sign of a games health to see the development team continually introduce these fixes and update Gran Turismo 7 even if it took a couple of weeks for this Gran Turismo 7 free Roulette Tickets exploit to be removed.

If youre someone whos quite sad its gone, dont fret no game is perfect and were sure another exploit is going to pop up again before too long. For now, though, why not check out everything you need to know about Gran Turismo 7 legendary cars and this Gran Turismo 7 track list its always good to keep an eye on the content available.

In addition, it is safer and more convenient than most other forms of bets.

The most profound way to increase your winning probability in a roulette game is to bet tiny amounts on either red or black. The other lucrative option is to try your lands on odd-even bets, as they are at the highest possibility of winning. This trick acts as a confidence booster for newbie roulette lovers.

There is something that creates a sudden adrenaline rush when we talk about 1:35 single numbers inside bets, isnt it? Although the probability of winning these bets is pretty severe, you should consider this trick while playing Roulette and make this a point of playing even once. But, of course, stick to the higher odds of who has the chance to win.

Whether you are an absolute beginner or a Roulette champion, the Martingale strategy is the only common thing among all Roulette fanatics. This strategy states that whenever you lose a bet, cover it up by bidding more and overcome all the losses in a single win. However, it is always advisable to use this strategy by starting small, and the best is to last with black or red throughout the game.

Evident from the name itself, the Reverse Martingale strategy is the opposite of the classic Martingale strategy. In this, the betting amount increases after you win a bet, unlike in the Martingale strategy, where the betting amount increases after every loss. Even in the reverse Martingale process, the player is advised to stick to colors or numbers.

Following the Fibonacci rule can change your entire Roulette game and give you a new perspective while playing them. In this set of rules, a player needs to aim at a particular strategy to get ahead of their losses, even by a small margin. In this strategy, every third bet is the sum of the two previously lost bets.

No matter what gambling game you are playing, you just cannot bid for a jackpot at once. Instead, it is tiny steps that will take you ahead. The same is the case while playing Roulette. Start by placing low-risk bids, and you can go for even black-red bets or odd black-red bets. Initially, the payout may seem small, but you can constantly re-invest them into high-risk single-digit bets.

The bond strategy is another factor that can elevate your Roulette games. Bond strategy comes as a helping hand to minimise losses when placing three bets simultaneously. Once you have mastered the box strategy, you can ace your Roulette game.

Roulette is nothing but a blend of physics and maths. According to the researchers, the outcome of any roulette table can be predicted by calculating the balls velocity. Moreover, almost 59% of the time, it has delivered faultless results. So by having a firm grip on physics and maths, you can also predict the result of the Roulette table and increase your potential chances of winning.

With all the glitz and glam in the gambling industry, one can never ignore the probability of losing the game. Knowing when to stop is crucial to saving yourself from many losses. Suppose if you have lost 7 spins on a roulette wheel, there are chances that you might not be able to overcome your losses with the 8th spin. So that is where you should stop.

With certain essential things in mind, you should spot when and where you need to stop and start a fresh spin.

All roulette players are familiar with the term biassed wheel. In case you dont, then it is the probability of a certain number or numbers hitting out of all possibilities. To guess the biassed wheel try searching for numbers that have hitting the scoreboard twice and then bet that number.

Roulettes are a game of heritage; you can play them effortlessly with little knowledge and luck. Try exploring these tricks to get better with your game. When beginning your Roulette journey, do not get frustrated in the very beginning. It is the game of fate with little knowledge. Hold on and keep going.

How Casinos Got to Where They are Today – COGconnected

The iGaming industry evolves as technology evolves. The iGaming industry has changed a lot since the very first online gambling sites started welcoming their first customers in the middle 1990s. One of the very first gambling sites was Planet Poker which was launched in 1998. Paradise Poker opened its virtual doors in 1999, and numerous other sites followed.

The early 2000s marked the expansion of poker sites. In 2005, Playtech launched one of the very first mobile gaming sites, while numerous other mobile sites opened their doors in the following years. As iGaming changed over the years, online casino games have also evolved. Today, players have thousands of different top-notch online casino games to explore, and we discuss how casino games grew over the years to get to where they are today.

Evolution of Online Casino Games

Thanks to the widespread use of the Internet back in the middle and late 90s, online casinos operating on the scene back then started adding more games to their gaming libraries. The earliest online casinos featured minimal gaming libraries with a couple of blackjacks and roulette games, accompanied by online slots that were among the very first real money online casino games.

Today, a single online casino has hundreds and even thousands of different casino games, including live dealers, classic tables, card games, slots, instant-win, and specialty games. To get the best value for your money, make sure you check out these online casinos with the fastest payoutrates.

More Sophisticated Software

Online casino software in use today is way more sophisticated than it was a couple of years ago. The improvements made in such a short period are tremendous. Games you can play today feature more modern RNG software, ensuring greater fairness across all different iGaming sites. In recent years, third-party testing agencies, such as iTechLabs and eCogra, also joined the market to focus on promoting and ensuring fair gaming sessions.

More Advanced Sound Effects, Animations, and Graphics

The software quality used in online casino games improved massively, and the same is true for sound effects, animations, and graphics used. Modern casino games available today come packed with top-notch, premium graphics and eye-catching animations. Sound effects used in modern online casino games are also impressive, especially among branded games that take inspiration from movies, television shows, and celebrities.

More Rewarding In-Game Bonuses

According to thisreport by Grand View Research, the global gaming markets site was worth around US$57 billion as estimated in 2021. According to the same report, the markets site is expected to grow at a staggering rate of 11.7% in the next eight years. For players, this means bigger and better gaming opportunities, which are commonly presented as in-game bonuses.

If you take a look at retro games released years ago, you can see that they have one or no in-game bonuses. Modern slots and other casino games that hit the iGaming market commonly feature one and even more in-game bonuses.

Speaking of slots, these games have evolved massively in the last several years thanks to the introduction of Megaways, Cluster Pays, and other innovative gaming engines. Other games, such as blackjack and roulette, have evolved as well, thanks to new exciting variants being introduced. The growing popularity of live dealers and mobile casinos has also contributed to the tremendous popularity of iGaming.

NCAA Conference roulette: Latest rumors on the University of Arizona and the Pac-12 – Zona Zealots

So many rumors and moving pieces in NCAA conference realignment are happening, and with UCLA and USC moving to the BIG 10, where will Arizona end up?

UCLA and UCLA will escape playing the University of Arizona Basketball in conference play in 2024 because they just left the Pac-12 for the Big10 as you may have seen and heard already.

It was for the money, an estimated extra $50+ million per year to be exact. By comparison, the Pac-12 distributes about half that (approximately $350M of the Big 10s $650M+). Almost everyone agrees that its all former Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott and the slow-moving current commissioner George Kliavkoff.

Just today, the Pac-12 said it would immediately begin negotiations on its next TV contract with Fox and ESPN. However, it may be a bit too late though with the departure of the two biggest Los Angeles market teams leaving in UCLA and USC.

Adversely, the Big XII is looking to expand its schools, and the Pac-12 schools rumored to be in current discussions with the BIG XII over the weekend included Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah.

In 2025, the BIG XII will lose two of its major schools, Texas and Oklahoma, who have agreed to join the SEC conference. If Colorado ends up going to the Big XII, they will be going back to their former conference.

Jim Hill, on CBS Sports 6:00 P.M. news just reported that Oregon and Washington are also in discussions with the BIG XII, although Hill also mentioned that Phil Knight (Nike owner, and huge booster for the Oregon Ducks), wants to follow USC and UCLA to the Big 10 or move to the SEC.

While all thats going on, the Pac-12 sent out a communication to the media that it is looking to add a few schools to its list. UNLV and SDSU are just some of the schools mentioned by the media. While it is rumored that six schools are possibly in discussions with other conferences, two of the six schools came out today to explain that they are committed to the Pac-12, ASU and Utah:

ASU Athletic Director Ray Anderson: ASU remains fully committed to the Pac-12 Conference.ASU continues to work closely with the other remaining conference members to advance the best interests of its student-athletes as well as to support the continued success of the conference itself.

Shall we remind you that ASU was one of the schools that backed Larry Scott until the very end of his tenure?

Utah beat writer Josh Newman reports that Utah is committed to the Pac-12 quoting a high-level source, [The rumors Utah is in talks with the Big XII are] blatantly false. Furthermore, Utah remains in strong alignment with Pac-12 leadership, league institutions.

If Utah was to go to the Big XII, it would be in the same conference as BYU, which makes sense.

Oregon beat writer John Canzano reported that there is more to the Pac-12 wheelings and dealings which are ongoing:

A source with knowledge of their conversations told me the Pac-12 leaders [The Pac-12 CEO Group] are now considering a loose partnership with another conference. Presumably, that conference is the ACC or maybe the Big 12. The ACC has more lucrative markets than the Big XII but would be a ton of competition for the Arizona Football team.

So instead of four to six schools leaving the Pac-12, the Pac-12 would join another conference. The Big XII (Baylor, Kansas, and TCU) and the ACC (Duke and North Carolina) have some great basketball schools.

ESPN writer Pete Thamel surmises that UCLA and USC dont necessarily want Oregon and Washington to join them in the Big 10, if they did, they would have asked them. He also writes, The Big 12s advantage over the ACC in potentially poaching schools is that they are headed to open market after the 2024 football season. A full-on merger/alliance-type move with the Pac-12 would be complicated for many reasons [with the Big XII], including existing television deals.

Note, Thamel does not mention Arizona as a school the ACC would want.

The Crisis Core remake’s battle system is going to be more like the Final Fantasy 7 remake’s one – PC Gamer

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion was recently announced at the FF7 25th anniversary livestream, since when Square Enix has been dripfeeding nuggets of information about how the project's being approached. Most distressingly, for fans of vaguely pachinko-like roulette systems, they're taking the shears to the game's unique battle system (opens in new tab).

The short version: Crisis Core on PSP paired third-person combat with a luck-based slot machine. It's a slightly absurd but delightful system, and definitely one of my favourite aspects of the original.

The game's producer, Mariko Sato, addressed more specifically some of the changes that are being made in an interview with GameSpot (opens in new tab). "Things like the hard mode, which was in the overseas version to start with, is now going to be included in the game from the beginning for all regions," says Sato. "And then there's also a new dash function that's been added and new shortcuts to magic abilities and things like that."

Then comes the kicker: this is going to have a combat system much closer to FF7 Remake than the original Crisis Core.

"You know, we wanted to remain faithful to the battle experience of the original Crisis Core, but we also looked to the Final Fantasy 7 Remake and tried to close the gap between that experience and the Crisis Core Reunion battle experience," Sato says. "So it's kind of a very good combination of the original battle system and something close to Final Fantasy 7 Remake. We also heard a lot of fan feedback regarding what could be improved, and we tried to reflect as much of that as possible in Crisis Core Reunion.

"With regards to the DMW system, there used to be a kind of a movie that came up when that system was in play, but we've implemented a skip function for that. So a lot of things like that."

DMW stands for the Digital Mind Wave system, which is what the game calls it during the semi-realtime battle sequences. I'm pretty sure Sato's just referring to the short cutscene that basically indicated the beginning of a battle, rather than anything to do with the roulette wheel.

This is... not music to my ears. What Sato says about remaining faithful to the original battle system is positive, but everything else sounds like that's not what's actually going on here. If the Crisis Core remake just plays like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, to me that's doing a disservice to one of Square Enix's more weird and fun ideas for a combat system.

This all follows on from a tweet from the official Final Fantasy VII account, which outlines the following changes:

There are a few other tidbits in the interview. Sato says the story will be "a very faithful retelling of the original" with "no additional story content." All the in-game assets have been recreated from scratch, and all of the music is being remixed by the game's original composer.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion doesn't yet have a precise release date, but it's coming to Steam this winter.

Weirdest Things Ever Happened in Casinos – CelebMix

A casino is a convenient place for the average bettor. While playing a $5 minimum deposit casino, they can eat and drink. Theres a good chance that youve tried to sleep while youre at the casino, but its not a requirement. There have been several other incidents that have occurred in land-based casinos as well.

You cant play at an online casino like you can at a brick-and-mortar casino. Youll see a wide range of other activities taking place in these establishments, some of which you wouldnt expect. Here are some weird casino stories.

Whats the strangest thing thats happened? Is there anything you can think of that has happened? Please join us as we examine some of the most bizarre occurrences that have occurred in a casino. They include such cases as:

A variety of strange and unusual events can be encountered by casino security guards during their work. A security guard at a casino in Nairobi, Kenya, was killed in a savage crime spree. At the roulette table, one gambler spread his money across many numbers. He lost all his bets despite good odds, which he didnt handle well.

They were able to get their winnings before the dealer could. After being cornered, the man put the paper money into his mouth and tried to swallow it!

Two guards were needed to bring him down and force him to spill the cash. The security guards didnt throw away the dirty bills. Instead, they put them back on the roulette table. When the dealer called for a cleaner, she showed up with an electric fan in hand.

At this point, the money was drying quickly in front of a fan, and play was restarted. There was no more information found on the offending man. The same is true in Macaus casinos.

Superstitions are often cited as the reason for gambling establishments and casinos being built. A lot of gamblers bring good luck charms to the casino in the hopes that they will bring them luck. Its understandable, and many people use good luck charms.

A person who thinks the slot machine game is real will have a hard time believing otherwise. Its up to that little guy whether a slot player gets paid for a spin.

Her arm was grabbed by a security officer in order to get him to notice her. She told him to tell the slot machine to let her win by looking at him. Because slot machines are inanimate, they dont respond to commands.

The woman agreed and said she was aware. She told the security guard to give her the slot machines little man.

Despite the guards attempts to discredit her, the woman insisted she had found ruthless casino operations and little men in every slot machine. She owed money as a result of her compulsive habit of playing the same slot machine over and over again.

The guard had to call a technician to open the slot machine to prove it was empty. In fact, its entirely possible that the lady is still enraged by the slot machine payouts to this day.

Due to the belief in ghosts and demons, there have been few deaths linked to gambling establishments in the past. Gamblers are said to be protected from evil spirits according to folklore. According to the casino employee, a roulette player was having a great time.

When the dealer threw the ball into the wheel, the man would hurl salt into an ashtray. The casino worker was curious about his routine. Response? He was warding off evil spirits to increase his roulette winnings.

A croupier came across a man who appeared to be aware that he was being observed. After spending $56,000 at a casino, he contacted security via CCTV to report his losses.

He wasnt intoxicated, as the croupier only saw him sipping soft drinks while he was playing the roulette wheel. He stared into the camera lens and swore at the security team operating them. It was claimed that the roulette balls had magnets in them and that each round was predetermined. A sense of panic was set off when he noticed the CCTV cameras swivelling.

The angry gambler smashed the camera with an ashtray. He was escorted from the casino as per the standard procedure for his own safety. Before that, he probably gave the security guards hours of entertainment. Similar incidents, it appears, occurred in Dutch casinos.

A casino employee remembers a middle-aged woman who frequented the gambling establishment in fancy clothes.

She would play a slot machine and then move on. And so on. Many gamblers switch machines when things go wrong.

This middle-aged woman was different. Shed sit at a slot machine as long as she could before urinating on it. Unknown if the player was too focused on the game or had bladder issues.

The worker at the casino remembers that she wet six seats in one session. It was necessary for the casino to replace those seats because they were damaged.

She was still a regular at the casino. The casino let her do it because she was a regular customer. They let her pee on the seats because shed spent so much money there.

Were not sure if such spending is acceptable. She might have bought new seats with the money she won at the casino.

In the 1950s, London made it illegal to gamble, but that didnt stop some bad people. Someone claimed their great grandfather worked for a criminal organisation disguised as an exclusive gentlemens club while they were young.

A group of men entered the casino one night, and one of them passed out from drinking. His friends put him on a chaise lounge to sleep off his drunken episode while they played poker.

Two hours later, they found their friend not breathing. Despite the fact that his demise had been verified, no one wanted to take a chance after that. As a result, members of the staff, including the great grandfather of the storyteller, carried his body to the gentlemens club across the street. Someone later found him dead in a chair where he was left.

The dead mans bullet missed the underground casino.

These stories are only some of the popular ones. You will probably hear many of them once you become a regular player in casinos. Some of them are true, but others are questionable. In spite of these tales, players continue to partake in their preferred casino games.

Complex cast of players battles over sports betting – CalMatters

Californians in November will vote on the fewest statewide ballot measures in more than a century heightening already intense attention on a pair of dueling initiatives to legalize sports betting.

Deciding whether or not to authorize sports betting in California may seem like a fairly straightforward proposition no pun intended. But understanding the ins and outs of the measures will require voters to navigate their way through what Rob Stutzman, a political consultant working on one of the campaigns, described as a confusing landscape during a Thursday press conference.

Lets dive into some of the complexities:

One ballot measure, Proposition 26, backed by some Native American tribes, would authorize in-person sports betting at tribal casinos and Californias four horse race tracks. It would also allow tribal casinos to offer roulette, craps and other dice games.

The other ballot measure, Prop. 27, backed by gaming giants including FanDuel, BetMGM and DraftKings, would permit large, well-established companies that partner with a Native American tribe to offer online sports betting.

But last week, two Native American tribes announced their support for Prop. 27 and a third, the Santa Rosa Rancheria Tachi Yokut Tribe, followed suit this week, according to a ballot measure committee called Californians for Solutions to Homelessness and Mental Health Support and funded principally by FanDuel, BetMGM and DraftKings.

Californians for Tribal Sovereignty and Safe Gaming is a ballot measure committee focused solely on opposing Prop. 27, while the Coalition for Safe, Responsible Gaming is a ballot measure committee focused both on supporting Prop. 26 and opposing Prop. 27. The two committees are coordinating their No on 27 efforts, according to Stutzman, who is working with the Californians for Tribal Sovereignty and Safe Gaming committee.

Meanwhile, yet another ballot measure committee called Taxpayers Against Special Interest Monopolies funded principally by card rooms has formed in opposition to Prop. 26. The committee alleged in a Wednesday press release that Prop. 26 would guarantee tribal casinos a near monopoly on all gaming in California adding exclusivity over roulette, craps and sports wagering to their current monopoly on slot machines while weaponizing the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) so it can be used against tribal casino operators legally operating competition.

Altogether, the four committees on both sides of both ballot measures have already raised more than $300 million, according to CalMatters data wizard Jeremia Kimelman. If all that money is spent, it will break the record $226 million spent in 2020 over a ballot measure to exempt gig-economy companies from a controversial California labor law.

Other election news you should know:

The coronavirus bottom line: As of Monday, California had 9,500,376 confirmed cases (+0.7% from previous day) and 91,795 deaths (+0.1% from previous day), according to state data now updated just twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. CalMatters is also tracking coronavirus hospitalizations by county.

California has administered 77,630,160 vaccine doses, and 75.7% of eligible Californians are fully vaccinated.

Californians of color saw a larger decrease in life expectancy than white residents during the pandemic, while the life expectancy gap between the states rich and poor residents widened, according to a study published Thursday in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Researchers found that between 2019 and 2021, the life expectancy for Latino Californians fell by almost six years, compared to nearly four years for Black Californians, three years for Asian Californians and by nearly two years for white Californians, CalMatters Jeanne Kuang reports. Meanwhile, the life expectancy gap between residents living in Californias poorest 1% of census tracts and those living in the richest 1% swelled from 11.5 to 15.5 years.

The study comes soon after Gov. Gavin Newsom and lawmakers passed a budget deal that opens Medi-Cal, the states health care program for the poor, to all income-eligible undocumented immigrants regardless of age. But Newsom nixed for the second year in a row the creation of a Health Equity and Racial Justice Fund that would funnel millions of dollars annually to community-based groups, clinics and tribal organizations, frustrating advocates who say the governor isnt doing enough to address racial health disparities, the Los Angeles Times reports.

An estimated 3,800 more college students will soon have affordable campus housing after Newsom and lawmakers agreed to pump a portion of Californias $300 billion budget into a student program to ease a residential crisis gripping the states public universities and community colleges, CalMatters Mikhail Zinshteyn reports. This year, $1.4 billion is heading to 26 public campuses to build or expand dorms though the extra beds represent a pittance of the true needfor Californias hundreds of thousands of college students battling unstable housing. But even more affordable units could be on the way, a fact made all the more remarkable given that last year was the first time lawmakers approved major state funding to build students homes and ensure campuses keep the rents low, Mikhail writes.

Water and oil dont mix but they will in this newsletter item breaking down the latest California environmental news:

California lawmakers just opened the door to ending states abortion rights: The state Legislature made a huge mistake by giving anti-choice voters an opportunity in November to deny womens reproductive rights granted for the past 50 years, argues Wendy Voorsanger, author of Prospects of a Woman.

Bulgaria-based online gaming software and solutions provider Amusnet Interactive attended Peru Gaming Show (PGS) trade expoon 15-16 June, its first participation there introducing its new name, following the completion of a rebranding from EGT Interactive last month. To further discuss the company's key takeaways from the event, Yogonet talked with Nikola Georgiev, Regional Business Development Manager at Amusnet Interactive, who also anticipated expansion plans for the Latin American markets, including significant progress made in Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and Paraguay.

Could you describe Amusnet Interactives tradeshow strategy and final assessment for its first participation in the Peru Gaming Show? Have you met the companys key goals and expectations for the event?

Amusnet Interactives tradeshow strategy has developed in recent years, and our new brand name and corporate identity allow us to boost our performance in industry exhibitions. We now attract exhibition footfall with a modern design, cool lighting and diverse iGaming content.

Our main goal at this event, as always, was twofold. Firstly, we wanted to meet with colleagues and existing partners from the industry. Secondly, we looked forward to meeting new operators looking for opportunities to expand their business by providing exciting iGaming content to their players.

We want to expand our footprint in the LatAm region, so its important that were present at every industry event.

Which product offers have you focused on to meet the demands of the particular and diverse Latam markets in Lima? Which markets did you target in particular with your presence there?

The exhibition was a perfect way to show that we retain the excellent portfolio of games from our previous EGT Interactive brand while adding Amusnet Interactives new suite of modern casino games.

Our new titles bring the same innovation and excitement that have made our portfolio so popular.

We consider Peru to be a focus market for our games and also for our Live Casino offering. So far, we have released Live Speed Roulette, Onyx Auto Roulette, Live European Roulette, and Dynamic Roulette 120x. We will soon add Baccarat, Sic Bo, and Money Wheel.

How has your rebranding to Amusnet Interactive, completed just a few days before the event, been reflected at PGS? What was the feedback for this?

While our innovation, product development and customer service remain laser-focused, Amusnet Interactive is a new brand identity that better reflects our core offering and values.

Our partners were actively involved and provided their support during the whole process. They already know our high-quality products and how we do business, so they are pleased to be part of our journey under a new identity.

Peru is currently discussing new legislation that would include a specific tax on online sports betting and gaming, and Brazil keeps working on options to open the broad gambling market. What is Amusnet Interactives approach to these potential new Latam markets, and what impact do you expect this regulatory momentum to have in your business areas and the gaming industry? Whats the current status of your entry into Argentina?

We believe a regulatory framework is crucial for the growth of the iGaming sector, ensuring predictability and stability of the business, and we are focusing on regulated markets where our presence is always strong. Also, it builds the safest environment for players, operators and providers.

In Peru, we already had some successful campaigns, partnering with local operators and witnessed encouraging results. Our iGaming portfolio will be available on the websites of some of the other leading operators soon, which will strongly expand our presence in the market.

Regarding Argentina, we are glad to share that our content is live in Buenos Aires (Province). We are soon expecting to finish the administrative process for Buenos Aires (City) as well and to give the players the chance to enjoy our portfolio of iGaming products.

Recently, we have signed new deals with leading operators in Mexico, Colombia, and Paraguay, which will allow us to reach a wider audience of players who are familiar with our games and looking for them on the operators' websites.

What can we expect in terms of in-house development for these markets? Are there any Latam-tailored developments in the pipeline in order to gain competitive advantage and differential assets? What role will your recently launched Live Casino line have in this expansion strategy? Which new doors is this opening up?

Amusnet Interactive is committed to providing partners with a pipeline of new engaging content, products, advanced and scalable architecture and improved service.

We create an engaging fusion of classic and modern casino games, and players love the performance and return from our titles. Since last year, we have released more than 20 new video slots with captivating and unique themes, plus exciting Lottery games. These include Fruity Time, Orient Story, Hot Deco, Cocktail Rush, Candy Palace, etc.

On top of that, we are seeing the rapid growth of Live Casino, where Amusnet Interactive is gaining market share. Our platform is powered by cutting-edge live streaming technology and a state-of-the-art studio to provide an unprecedented Live Gaming experience. We continue to develop new and appealing Live Casino games.

Which other industry events are you planning to attend next?

We attended all industry events in the LatAm region this year GAT Colombia, SAGSE Argentina, CGS Chile and PGS in Peru. After the PGS, we headed to the Brazilian iGaming Summit as delegates. Were also joining iGB Live in Amsterdam one of the most significant events for the industry in Europe.

Hopefully, we can meet most of our partners there and link up with new ones. We highly appreciate the feedback we get from these events.

Top 10 Online Casinos in Germany Where High-Rollers Win Up to 5BTC – Native News Online

Details

(alt = euro and golden bitcoin, source = https://www.pexels.com/photo/close-up-shot-of-coins-and-bills-6778664/)

Previously, gambling laws in Germany were very strict for quite a few years. With the development of the industry, there is a need to change the legal framework for regulating online casinos. In 2020, the federal states of Germany adopted an amendment to the interstate agreement on gambling. In 2021, this amendment entered into force. The new legislation has significantly expanded the list of allowed bets in online casinos and slot machines. This law allows legit online casinos to operate in Germany.

Indeed, many countries, not only Germany, are changing their legislation regarding online casinos and making indulgence in regulation. This is due to the growing popularity of online gambling.

There are several reasons why many people prefer online casinos to land-based ones. Firstly, this is convenient, because you can play while at home right out of bed. Another convenience is the adaptability of today's online casinos. You can play on a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. It does not tie users to place and time. They can play while riding the subway or in traffic. And the last main reason is the simplicity of online gambling. All you need is the internet and a device. The best online casinos offer various payment methods, which also make online gambling popular.

Due to the development of the industry, more and more best online casinos appear. However, how to understand who you can trust with your capital and still have the opportunity to increase it? Based on expert research done by Etheremon and ORDB, we managed to determine the best online casinos in Germany:

According to the latest survey by ORDB, some of these platforms are rated high by gamblers in the following regions:

The simplest security principles can help you avoid losing money while playing in legit online casinos. Large rash bets should not be made in any case. Some basic rules are known even to beginners, but many play a risky game in both classic and bitcoin casinos. However, not only it often becomes the cause of loss. Safety measures are also very important and must be adhered to.

It is important to control who has access to the device if any money transactions are carried out with its help. On many online casino sites, the browser sets all forms to be filled in automatically. Therefore, if your device is captured by someone you don't trust, they can use the saved passwords. To avoid such stories, either do not save passwords for autofill in the browser or do not allow strangers to access your device.

The most basic and familiar online security rule is to create a complex and unique password. To avoid unauthorized access to personal data and money, be responsible and careful in choosing a password.

Unfortunately, today there are a lot of users who do not protect their computers with specialized programs. Stay prudent - put protection on the device, otherwise problems will most likely arise sooner or later.

Mobile games offered on gambling sites are now quite popular. Keep in mind that gadgets are stolen and lost much more often than personal computers or laptops. If a smartphone or tablet is used for playing online casinos, and there is access to the accounts where funds are located, it is worth protecting the device as securely as possible.

So, we hope that you will follow these rules not only when playing on the best online gambling sites but anywhere on the Internet.

Top 10 Online Casinos in Germany Where High-Rollers Win Up to 5BTC - Native News Online

I was on the high of highs, and suddenly it was over: Linda Hoover on her great lost LP with Steely Dan – The Guardian

Few wannabe pop stars release their debut album at the age of 71, especially one that was recorded more than half a century earlier. But Linda Hoovers I Mean to Shine is no ordinary album. Not only does the backing group feature three future members of Steely Dan Donald Fagen, Walter Becker and Jeff Skunk Baxter it also includes five Becker-Fagen songs, all of them little-known and one of them never previously heard. This historic pop artefact has gathered dust for 52 years after her label boss withheld the release. I was not emotionally prepared when I was told the album was being shelved, and I felt like it was my fault, says Hoover today. I knew nothing about the music business, or any business for that matter. I was rolling along on the high of highs and suddenly it was over.

Back in the 1960s, Hoover was just a New Jersey kid with big dreams. A fixation with dance and acting gave way to pop. During my high school years I wanted to sing like Barbra Streisand and look like Diana Ross, she says. She won talent shows as a singer and guitar player, initially performing songs written by her brother Larry, though she was soon writing her own. After Larry came home from college in 1965, excitedly brandishing new albums, her musical horizons and ambitions broadened as Hoover discovered Dylan and Joni Mitchells unique gift of writing musical poetry.

A colleague of future Steely Dan svengali Gary Katz heard Hoover at a talent show and introduced them. Katz arranged a series of record company auditions: after five years of toil, in early 1970 Morris Levy at Roulette Records showed interest. To sweeten the deal, Katz promised him most of the publishing rights to the songs. Levy signed her. For the recording sessions, Katz turned to his friend Kenny Vance, who was selling work by a pair of young songwriters he managed: Becker and Fagen. Katz, Becker and Fagen began selecting songs for Hoovers album. Five were theirs, and three were her own. A version of Stephen Stillss 4+20, a song by the Bands Richard Manuel and another by a friend of Vance completed the set.

My songs were usually inspired by something that happened in my teenage life, says Hoover. I was missing my mother and wrote Mama Tears. Working with Becker and Fagen inspired her to experiment with more interesting chords, and of the Becker-Fagen compositions, her favourite was I Mean to Shine, a song about someone whose ambitions have caused her to split from her beau. Donald and Walter had asked me about my aspirations the day we met for the first time, and then Donald came back with that song, she says, though admits shes uncertain about whether it was written for her.

Despite the curmudgeonly reputation the duo developed after they became famous, Hoover has only good memories of working with them. Walter was a real character. He usually did most of the talking, and he was extremely bright. I thought he was hilarious. His wit and his flair for sarcasm were unequalled. Donald was more quiet but equally as bright, and, to this day, I believe that he is one of the most talented musicians in the world. Every day he brought in copies of his handwritten lead sheets for each musician. Hoover couldnt read music and created her own annotation system. He had some unique harmonies that he wanted me to sing and it was not always easy. He would sing them to me and he was very patient as I committed them to memory.

The duos lyrics, meanwhile, remained a mystery: Quick, some redhots, cried the handsome fullback / Im so nervous at this lonely bivouac, goes The Roaring of the Lamb. I felt like it was about the war in Vietnam, but no one ever said that to me, says Hoover. That sort of hip, lyrical style that they have is one of the things Ive always liked about Becker and Fagens music. I like the brilliant mysteries in their stories.

A less than brilliant mystery then put paid to the whole enterprise: Roulettes Levy was checking over the albums artwork when he noticed that all the songs except Hoovers were owned by other publishers: Vance had already signed up Becker and Fagen, and the others were likewise spoken for. Levy was furious, and cancelled the release.

Trying to keep everyone together, Katz formed them into a group called Cody Canyon, but it came to nothing. The following year, he was offered a job with ABC Records in Los Angeles, and took Becker and Fagen with him. Within a year they were recording again, this time as Steely Dan. Baxter tried to convince Linda to go with them to California, and urged her to forget about what had happened with I Mean to Shine. He had a much better grasp on what was going on than I did, but I just felt defeated, she admits. I hung around New York for a while and tried doing some work with a couple of other musician friends, but Id run out of money, and finally went back to Orlando, to my parents home.

In 1973 Hoover married a young law student called Jay Willingham, and together they had two sons. She carried on gigging and recording, playing restaurants and clubs, and the Florida music festival. Decades later she and Willingham learned that the Roulette Records catalogue had been sold to Rhino Records, and he sent the company a cleaned-up digital version of Lindas original two-track tape. They pronounced it stunning and asked permission to send them to Omnivore Recordings, a new label specialising in excavating obscure or unknown albums with an interesting history. Hoovers was a perfect fit.

All these years later, her voice sounds both confident and innocent, like an American Mary Hopkin, and she does full justice to Becker-Fagen songs like Roll Back the Meaning and Turn My Friend Away. But the albums failure to launch left permanent scars. Recording an album was the most important thing in my young life, so the loss was the most profound disappointment I had ever felt, says Hoover. After the extraordinary success of Steely Dan, I would tell people that I had worked with them and some people didnt believe me, which was hard. Now she feels vindicated. Everyone involved has been so affirming. I am truly thankful that this album was restored and is going to be released. The moral of my story is: never give up.

I Mean to Shine is out now. Peter Joness book Nightfly: The Life of Steely Dans Donald Fagen is published on 13 September.

Had been staying in India since 2015 with a fake passport, voter ID and driving license: Bangladeshi Faisal Ahmed arrested for the murder of Hindu…

The Indian law enforcement authorities made a major breakthrough on July 1 this year after they apprehended the murderer of Hindu blogger Ananta Vijay Das.

Identified as Faisal Ahmed, he has been on the run from the law enforcement authorities since 2015. Following his arrest from the Bommanhalli area in Bengaluru, he was taken to Kolkata on July 3.

The arrest was made by the Kolkata police, which also obtained information about his radical activities in the country. Faisal will now be handed over to the Bangladesh police.

While speaking about the development, Bangladesh Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) DIG Moniruzzaman conceded that the authorities had information that Faisal was residing illegally in India.

He stated that the Indian law enforcement authorities were apprised about the matter and necessary documents were provided to confirm his identity, prior to Faisals arrest.

Reportedly, the Bangladeshi authorities provided Faisals mobile number to the Kolkata police. Using call records, it was found that he was staying in Bengaluru.

Once a medical student, Faisal was at the forefront of spreading jihadist ideology under the pretext of teaching in madrassas. He has also been involved with Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), affiliated with Islamist terror outfit Al-Qaeda.

During interrogation, it came to light that he was at the helm of organising the Al-Qaeda module in the Barak Valley of Assam. He admitted to fleeing to Silchar from Bangladesh in 2015 and making a fake voter ID card by the name of Shahid Majumdar.

He also acquired a passport, where his house address has been traced to Mizoram. Faisal was also successful in procuring a drivers licence from Bengaluru. The terrorist however cried foul and denied any involvement in the murder of Hindu blogger Ananta Vijay Das.

According to the Special Superintendent of Anti-Terrorism Unit Aslam Khan, Faisal Ahmed will be extradited to Bangladesh on completion of necessary procedures.

Faisal Khan is one of the accused in the brutal murder of Hindu blogger Ananta Vijay Das in Subidbazar in the Sylhet district of Bangladesh. A vocal critic of religious fanaticism, Das had received several death threats from Islamic extremists.

He was a banker and the Council for Science and Rationalism of Bangladeshs general secretary. He was an editor of a magazine named Jukti (Logic). On the fateful day of May 12, 2015, the Mukto-Mona (free thinkers) blogger was chased down by Islamists and slaughtered with machetes.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. In March this year, a Bangladeshi court sentenced 4 people to death for the killing of Ananta Vijay Das. They included Abul Khayer Rashid Ahmed (25), Abul Hossain (25), Mamunur Rashid (25) and Faysal Ahmed (27).

Two of the accused are still at large. While delivering the verdict, Justice Nurul Amin Biplob remarked, If these accused are not given exemplary punishment, people of other terrorists, extremist ideologies will be encouraged to commit such killings.

He further added, The main purpose (of the killing) was to spread fear and apprehension among writers who wrote or spoke about liberalism, progressivism, science and prejudice prevalent in the society through the brutality and horror of the killing.

School Board at Impasse With County and Palm Coast Over Billing Developers for New Schools – FlaglerLive.com

Flagler County schools, county government and Palm Coast are at odds over how to bill builders for new schools made necessary by a ramp-up in new construction.

In a sense, the dispute is insider baseball. Its about a pending agreement between local governments and what it should say about how to collect school impact fees, the one time fee builders pay for every new house to defray the cost of new schools, roads, fire houses, and so on.

In another sense, the agreement will affect most families with children in public schools, because it will define the timing of the districts new schools, which in turn may impact whether or not your child will be in a crowded school, a portable classroom, or a decent environment that respects the states class-size law.

None of this would have been an issue had the County Commission in May not voted to scrap a long-standing agreement with the school district on how school impact fees are collected. But developers were disenchanted with the agreement, which could require them to make heavier payments of impact fees at the front end of development than they wanted to. And state law has changed over the years, shifting burdens away from developers or reducing regulations that, until 2011, had favored school districts. The developer-friendly Flagler County Commission seized on the developments to rewrite the local school-financing rules, to the extent that it could through a new joint agreement, commonly referred to as an interlocal agreement, or ILA for short.

Friday morning, representatives from the school board, the county, Palm Coast, Flagler Beach and Bunnell are meeting in Room 3, on the third floor of the Government Services Building in Bunnell, to try to hash out what, at the moment, is the impasse between the district on one side and the county and Palm Coast on the other.

It sounds complicated, and officials involved speak as if it is, or claim it is. It is not. The only complications are the politics mucking up the otherwise straightforward dispute over details. What follows is an explanation of the dispute, the terms and the dollar figures involved, and each sides interpretation of where it stands.

Scrapping a Long-Standing Agreement

In March, the county ratified the school boards new impact fee of $5,450 on each new single-family home built. It was the first increase since 2005, when the impact fee, created at that time, was $3,600. The district wanted more. But a quirk in state law allows the county to stand in the way, preventing any new school impact fees from taking effect without the commissions approval. The commission did, and forced the district to settle for less. It created some bad blood. That hasnt gone away.

The new fee was only the first part of the districts challenge. The second was created when the county scrapped the ILA in effect since 2008. That ILA ends on Sept. 1. The local governments are scrambling to write a new one. Most of it is not controversial, with the exception of one sticking point: when may the school district collect in impact fees: when a developer puts in an application? When a developer pulls a building permit? When the house is completed?

Developers, who have enjoyed an inordinate degree of power at the negotiating table thanks to the commission, want to back-end payments as much as possible. The school district wants to front-end payments as much as possible.

To some extent, the district has state law on its side, under whats called the school concurrency law. School concurrency simply means that school districts and local governments work together to ensure that by the time new homes are built, theres enough space in schools for the new students who come with those new homes (assuming they do: its been a false assumption in Flagler, where a majority of new homes have been bought by retired people without children.)

Concurrency is in place by state law since 2005. Before that, it was optional. The Legislature in 2011 diluted concurrency requirements again, making it easier for developers to go ahead with construction with fewer of the previous regulations enforced. A few years ago it also changed the timing of impact fee payments. Previously, the impact fees were all due up front. Now they may be paid at the time a building permit is issued, or in negotiated timing agreements with individual developers.

When a district has plenty of space in its schools, its not an issue. The district isnt desperate for the money. When space begins to run out, its a different matter. Something called proportionate fair share payments kick in: a developer must pay up front a share of impact fees to give the district time to plan for new space, and stack up enough money to secure loans or bonds. The district is currently negotiating such proportionate fair share agreements, but there is no uniformity. Developers, for good reason, want uniformity and predictability.

But they still want to pay as little as possible, up front. Palm Coast and the county are proposing a 20 percent payment up front, reviving an old provision of the existing ILA called capacity reservation. They would then pay the rest of their impact fees in installments, over several years.

Fairness in Planning

The district is rejecting that approach. It is proposing a proportionate share approach that would have developers pay 40 percent up front, then 30 percent the second year, and 30 percent the third year. Palm Coast and the county have rejected that.

Thats the impasse, down to the way each side is characterizing the other.

So far our perspective from the county is that weve got some resistance to change on the part of the school district, Adam Mengel, the countys development director, said, with the district believing that the previous agreement wasnt broken and didnt need to be junked, only tweaked.

I dont know that we agree that theres no compromise available, Chris Wilson, a lawyer representing Orange County schools, and now Flagler schools on the impact fee and ILA issues, says.

My suggestion is to be a good faith negotiator in this process. We have room to improve on that part, County Commissioner Andy Dance, a former school board member who will be at the ILA meeting, said toward the end of a special commission meeting on the subject today.

They have asked for something that gave them a better timeframe so that they would see what the future had, and thats why we had proposed the 40-30-30, because its something theyve asked for, says Patty Bott, the districts coordinator of planning and inter-governmental relations.

Bott said the district has to look ahead three years to ensure capacity. Otherwise, the district would have to install portable classrooms until it had enough money to build a school, defeating the purpose of concurrency. There are current needs ahead for new schools, including projected needs for a middle school and a high school in about four years, plus an expansion of Matanzas High School in the works.

Currently the total amount for these schools is like $175 million over three years, based upon the developments that are in the pipeline right now, Bott said. If we had proportionate share, we would collect $53 million over those three years. If we have the 20 percent capacity reservation, we would collect $13 million. $13 million is not enough for us to guarantee your bonding. (Those numbers are based on however many units are proposed over the next three years that could be built out, she said.)

She added: Our current ILA says each of the communities will collect 100 percent of the impact fees upfront from a developer, and we havent asked that to be done. But thats what the current ILA says. And we will have proportionate fair share. So the fact that theres capacity reservation, theres nothing in statute that says how the school district has to use it. Proportionate fair share is the only thing that really protects you, the developers and the community.

The Countys Proposal

The alternative proposal was developed by Assistant County Attorney Sean Moylan, a graduate of Flagler County schools and a former teacher in the district who still has genuine sympathies for the district. But he also operates with Cartesian rationalism. Moylan is spearheading the countys effort to rewrite the ILA.

Moylan is skeptical of the districts ambitious school-construction plan. Theyre showing the amount of money they need to build two schools and they have a middle school and a high school identified, I believe in year four, or maybe five of their capital plan. Is that realistic? Can we build two schools simultaneously? he asked. Is that financially feasible? Is that something that we should be trying to impose on ourselves?

If that wasnt standing district officials hair on end, this did: And so we would have a time period of portable classrooms around our schools while there until we hit a critical mass till theres enough students and enough funding to create that new school that will be needed. Thats just the reality of our local rules and the state statutes. In fact, the portables are already here, as anyone driving by the Buddy Taylor Middle School campus will have noticed this week.

He stressed that in the end, all the impact fee money will be in the school districts hands. The issue is timing and method. Consistency and uniformity, predictability was one of our main goals here, Moylan said.

Even Dance, the districts biggest ally on the commission, agrees. What Im looking through this process is something thats more predictable and easily calculated, and theres trust built into it, he said. Im not stuck on any percentage. I think that needs to continue to be negotiated but the system that Seans put in place is viable at this point.

Dances point, favoring capacity reservations: theres inequity when the district charges developers a proportionate fair share only when the districts schools are at capacity, a cost that developers who build when the district is not at capacity dont have to pay. But with a reservation system, all developers pay a share up front, regardless, eliminating that inequity.

Beyond uniformity, clarity and predictability, the reservation system is easy to implement and it removes second-guessing from the equation, as Moylan sees it. We would not no longer have to look with a skeptical eye at numbers that the school district staff are putting forth when it comes to student generation capacity, whether those numbers are valid or not, he said.

The idea of having a 20 percent reservation fee in place is that the schools would be getting a more consistent stream of revenue, instead of waiting until theyre over capacity and at a bit of a crisis to get a larger chunk. Thats the underlying premise, Moylan said. That would be in place whether the schools are over capacity or not. Either way, the amount the district takes is then credited to the developers impact fee bill. This is rational because we need to prepare for future school facilities. We dont want to be in a position like we were in the early 2000s and and therefore getting this more consistent stream of revenue is going to help the school system with their long term planning.

But Kristy Gavin, the school board attorney, sees a misunderstanding of what capacity fees accomplish. Reservation fees, she said, are setting forth that we have capacity at a school. You are reserving your spot to guarantee the prospective homeowners moving into your community that slot at that school. That is what you are reserving. You are not mitigating the overcapacity issue at a school.

Palm Coast Sides With the County

The school board at a meeting considered the countys proposal and rejected it. Moylan was at that meeting but was not invited to present the countys position. It seems like not a fair presentation to the school board at that meeting, Dance told Gavin. I have a problem with that, whether you presented it accurately or not. If they had questions, they should have had somebody who developed that system to be able to present, meaning Moylan.

But thats no longer relevant, since the battle lines are drawn. Tuesday evening, the Palm Coast City Council appeared closely aligned around the capacity reservation plan. But like county commissioners, there was not as much agreement over the length of time those payments could be stretchedwhether across three, five or 10 years.

I dont think you should pay for something until youre at the point where you do have to pay for it, Council member Ed Danko said, finding the 40-30-30 approach very steep. He favored a 20 percent approach spread over five years, or as building permits are issued. But the analogy falls short, as it is closer to letting a merchant pay the supplier for wares only when those wares are sold at retail, not when the merchant gets them wholesale, which (the economic untenability of the analogy aside) then denies the wholesaler the ability plan.

But Dance says the discussion overuses the term upfrontor at least doesnt define it, creating a false impression. When a developer submits the site plan and gets a site plan approval, that kick starts a process, he said. It takes about two years for that process to go through their site plan approval, their preliminary plat and a lot of the discussion, and these approvals dont kick in until final plat and theyre eligible to pull a building permit. So thats about two years of process. Developers, in short, are not made to pay immediately when their plans are approved.

The different sides could well fail to reach agreement Friday. Theres disagreement between the same two camps over what might happen if the impasse continues and the county just pulls out of the ILA, with no new one in place.

Hazy Outlook

Fears of development coming to an end in the absence of an agreed-upon new joint agreement, or ILA, are somewhat misplaced, Palm Coast City Attorney Neysa Borkert said. There would need to be a number of things that would have to occur for a complete halt to development to happen across the county, she said. It wouldnt be something that happens immediately with the termination of the ILA on the countys behalf.

Moylan agrees, and notes: If the county does not agree to a form of concurrency, as I read the statute, that means there is no concurrency for schools in all of Flagler County, including within the municipalities, he said. The issue of concurrency depends on the county being on board.

The school districts Bott disputes that interpretation. When you have a new development come in, you make sure you have the roads, you make sure you have water and sewer before they can start building. The school board needs the same thing. We need to be able to plan to build, we need to be able to do site prep, we need to find land, buy land and move forward with it. We cant just wait until the money comes in later.

Dance said the discussion overuses the term upfrontor at least doesnt define it, creating a false impression. When when a developer submits the site plan and gets a site plan approval, that kick starts a process, he said. It takes about two years for that process to go through their site plan approval, their preliminary plat and a lot of the discussion, and these approvals dont kick in until final plat and theyre eligible to pull a building permit. So thats about two years of process. Developers, in short, are not made to pay immediately when their plans are approved.

The libertarian position on abortion – Learn Liberty

What is the libertarian position on abortion? The answer is not so simple. Abortion is a divisive issue in pro-liberty circles: some are staunchly pro-choice while others are staunchly pro-life. Yet, the various libertarian positions on abortion follow a similar moral logic.

So why are some people pro-choice? The answer is actually very simple: they believe that the fetus in the womb is not yet an independent human life and thus the mother has the right to abort the fetus because it is an issue of her bodily autonomy.

And why are some people pro-life? Again the answer is simple; they believe that the fetus is a living human being with its own rights, thus aborting the fetus is a violation of the babys bodily autonomy as it results in the death of a living being against its will.

But many people reject the fact that this is the dichotomy and instead make it a personal issue by demonizing the other side. Those on the pro-choice side are often demonized as baby killers, satanists, murderers, etc., while those on the pro-life side are often labeled misogynists, sexists, authoritarians, etc.

But what we must understand is that the vast majority of people on both sides have good intentions. They do not want to murder or control someones body. Most people on both sides actually want basic human rights such as the right to life and the right to control their own bodies and make their own decisions.

This is also the reason why libertarianism is torn on the subject of abortion. Both pro-choice and pro-life libertarians believe their position is in support of liberty. While it may seem like both sides have nothing in common, they do have one very important thing in common, they are both pro-liberty.

And in reality we need more people that are pro-liberty. While many on the right and left often use religion or other personal views to support or oppose the right to abortion, libertarians dont, they have a simple goal, libertarians want everyone to have the freedom to make their own decisions, libertarians believe that every individual is entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

If science is able to prove that the fetus is not a living being, the libertarian position would be pro-choice. But if science is able to prove that the fetus is a living being, the libertarian position would be pro-life because libertarians want to protect life, liberty, and bodily autonomy.

And that is the moral and logical position.

Libertarians do not wish to use religious belief or personal views to control other people, Instead, libertarians want to know the truth and act according to facts and maximize liberty for all.

If the libertarian approach to abortion is applied on other issues, we would be able to solve our problems much better.

We can create a freer, more advanced and more just society by maximizing liberty and pursuing the truth.

If life does not begin in the womb, then abortion is justified, if life does begin in the womb, then abortion is wrong. This is the pro-liberty view. You have a right to life and bodily autonomy; libertarians want to defend your rights. They do not want to spread their religion, nor demonize anyone and cause division. Libertarians are pro-choice, pro-life but most importantly pro-truth and pro-liberty.

Team Libertarian Report from National Constitution Center "Restoring the Guardrails of Democracy" Project Now Available on SSRN – Reason

The Team Libertarian Report from the National Constitution Center's "Restoring the Guardrails of Democracy" is now available for free download on SSRN. I coauthored the report with Clark Neily and Walter Olson (both of the Cato Institute). Here is the abstract:

American democracy faces multiple serious challenges. In the immediate future, we must establish institutional safeguards to prevent the kind of negation of election results attempted by Donald Trump in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election. In the medium-to-long run, more must be done to empower people to be able to make meaningful choices about the policies they live under. Ballot-box voting has great value. But it is not enough to ensure genuine political freedom. The latter requires enhancements to both "voice" and "exit" rights. We need to simultaneously increase citizens' ability to exercise voice within political institutions, and give them more and better exit options.

This report takes on all three challenges. We propose a variety of reforms that can address immediate short-term threats to democracy, while also increasing citizen empowerment in the long run.

Part I outlines reforms that can safeguard the electoral process against attempts at reversal, while also curbing presidential powers that could be abused in ways that undermine democracy. Among the most urgently needed reforms are new constraints on presidential powers under vaguely worded emergency statutes. These can too easily be manipulated by an unscrupulous administration in ways that could hobble democracy. It is also essential to reform the Electoral Count Act of 1887 in order to definitively preclude the sort of effort to overturn an election that then-President Trump engaged in after his defeat in 2020. In addition, we propose ways to incentivize electoral losers to concede defeat, rather than engage in bogus accusations of fraud and voter suppression, and to gradually restore public trust in the electoral system.

Part II describes how a number of serious flaws in the democratic process can be alleviated by expanding people's opportunities to "vote with their feet." Under conventional ballot-box voting, individual citizens usually have almost no chance of influencing the outcome. They also have strong perverse incentives to be "rationally ignorant" about the issues they vote on, and to process political information in a highly biased way.

Expanded foot voting rights can help alleviate these problems. People can vote with their feet, choosing what jurisdiction to live in within a federal system, and also through making decisions in the private sector. Relative to ballot box voters, foot voters have a much higher chance of making a decisive choice, and therefore much stronger incentives to become well-informed. Expanded foot voting can also help alleviate the dangerous polarization that has gradually poisoned our political system. Much can be done to expand foot voting opportunities in both the public and private sector by breaking down barriers to migration, such as exclusionary zoning. Foot voting can also be facilitated through greater decentralization of political power, which would reduce the incidence of one-size-fits-all federal policies from which there is no exit, short of leaving the country entirely.

Finally, Part III outlines ways in which ordinary citizens can be empowered to exercise greater "voice" in their dealings with the criminal justice system, particularly through reviving the institution of the citizen jury. Since the Founding and before, jury trials have been understood as an important tool of popular participation in government. Sadly, in the modern criminal justice system, the constitutionally prescribed role of juries in resolving criminal charges has been almost entirely displaced by so-called plea bargaining. As a result, citizen-jurors no longer exercise influence over those powers of government that directly impact the lives and liberty of the people more than most others. We propose multiple reforms that can help restore juries to their proper role in the criminal justice system.

Even if adopted in combination, our proposed reforms would not cure all the ills that afflict American democracy. But they can do much to shore it up against threats, and empower Americans to exercise greater control over the government policies they live under.

The NCC project also includes a Team Conservative report (coauthored by team leader Sarah Isgur, David French, and Jonah Goldberg, all affiliated with The Dispatch), and a Team Progressive report (coauthored by prominent election law scholars Edward Foley and Franita Tolson). I offered some thoughts in the similarities and differences between the three reports here.

Kansas abortion rights advocates and Democrats work to boost voter turnout – Kansas Reflector

LAWRENCE Kansas advocacy groups and Democrats are working to broaden outreach to unaffiliated and young voters this summer to get Kansans to vote against the anti-abortion constitutional amendment on the Aug. 2 ballot.

Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the League of Women Voters of Kansas and the Kansas Democratic party have seen an increased interest in voting on the amendment. Rep. Christina Haswood, a Lawrence Democrat and member of the Navajo Nation, said anti-abortion policies disproportionately affect American Indians and is canvassing to encourage voter turnout.

Martha Pint, co-president of League of Women Voters of Kansas, and Rebecca Perkins, Dickinson County Democratic chairwoman, say they are confronting the challenges created by legislators who placed the constitutional amendment on the primary ballot in an attempt to favor passage of the amendment. The primary is otherwise closed to independent voters, and few Democrats typically participate in comparison to Republicans.

There is this huge hurdle that we have to overcome, to get it out there, to let people know you can vote, you just have to be registered, you dont have to affiliate with any party to vote on this issue, Pint said. Now, if you want to vote on the candidates, different story. But on this issue, be registered and vote.

Pint said the League of Women Voters Kansas found that some counties, including Sedgwick and Wyandotte, offer applications for advanced mail-in ballots that only list Republican and Democrat as options for party affiliation. Pint said this may mislead some unaffiliated voters to believe they cant vote on Aug. 2.

Pint said the league brought this issue to the attention of officials. Sedgwick County adjusted its application for advance mail-in ballots to include unaffiliated and Libertarian as options. Wyandotte Countys advance mail-in ballot has not changed.

According to the Kansas Secretary of States Office, as of April, 44.3% of registered voters in Kansas identify as Republican, 28.8% identify as unaffiliated, 25.7% identify as Democrat, and 1.1% identify as Libertarian.

Perkins said her favorite story while handing out Vote No yard signs was when she went to deliver a sign to a rural home in Dickinson County. She said she approached a man in a pickup truck who told her he had been waiting for the signs to arrive.

And they said, I am probably the only Republican-slash-Libertarian youll find voting no on this question. And I said, You will find you are far from the only Republican voting no, Perkins said.

The amendment vote will be the first referendum in the U.S. pertaining to abortion rights following the U.S. Supreme Courts overturn of Roe v. Wade. Those who vote yes support amending the Kansas Constitution to make it clear that women have no right to terminate a pregnancy. Those who vote no support a Kansas Supreme Court ruling in 2019 that determined the state constitutions right to bodily autonomy applies to a womans decision to terminate a pregnancy.

Perkins said she has seen a growing interest in voting no on the amendment from people in both political parties, men and women, and an uptick in the number of younger people participating in the Democratic Party in Dickinson county.

According to a survey conducted by The Docking Institute of Public Affairs at Fort Hays State University, 60% of Kansans believe abortion should not be completely illegal in Kansas. The survey found 50.5% of respondents agree the Kansas government should not regulate the circumstances under which women can receive an abortion, while 25.4% believe the opposite.

You know, there was a lot of naivete on the part of the Kansas legislative Republican leaders thinking that they could just get their way by putting this on a primary and thinking politics as usual would prevail, Perkins said. I think the overturning of Roe upends politics as we know it.

Pint and Perkins said the demand for Vote No yard signs has increased in both the Wichita and Dickinson county areas. Both also said theyve seen an increase in the number of young people who are participating.

Pint said she was among 600 others at the U.S. League of Women Voters biennial convention in Denver when the decision ending Roe was issued.

You want to talk about some upset women, Pint said. Oh my goodness, you couldnt have asked for a better place to be, and you couldnt have asked for a worse place to be, because we just all felt so upset and angry and defeated.

Pint said convention goers joined a march for abortion rights in Denver.

Haswood said on the Kansas Reflector podcast she is p***ed about the possibility of Kansans losing reproductive rights. Because Haswood is running unopposed she said she is able to partially shift her campaign focus to voter turnout for the amendment.

She also expressed concern for American Indians who will be affected if Kansans lose their right to choose an abortion.

You know, its not going to stop abortions, only safe abortions, Haswood said. And thinking about my Indigenous folks, we have one of the highest rates of maternal mortality, morbidity, preeclampsia, you know, we can go down the list on all that.

American Indian and non-Hispanic Black women are approximately three times more likely than white women to die of pregnancy-related issues, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Haswood said the Hyde Amendment has affected American Indians rights and access to abortions.

The Hyde Amendment was passed by Congress in 1976 and forbids federal Medicaid funding to be used for abortion services, while some exceptions were added in 1993. Indian Health Services regulations follow the Hyde Amendment.

According to the National Library of Medicine, many American Indian women living in the U.S. rely on IHS facilities for reproductive health services. Data suggests the majority of these facilities lack resources to provide abortions under any circumstances.

According to the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission, in 2018 Medicaid covered 1.8 million American Indian and Alaskan Native people. Of American Indian and Alaskan Native adults under the age of 65, 36% were covered by Medicaid in 2018. Of all adults in the United States, 22% are covered by Medicaid.

Data shows that 46% of American Indian women give birth to their first child before the age of 20.

Haswood said reproduction and sex education was interwoven in American Indian creation stories, until the colonization of American Indian land when American Indian women began to be sexualized.

She said American Indians historically practiced family planning and used herbal medicines for abortions.

For me, Im just so lucky to have my summer interns who are all as angry as I am, Haswood said. We are training folks who want to volunteer and make this voter engagement because that is what the other side is doing, and theyve been doing it since Roe v. Wade was (put) in place. So, now we have to help folks have voting plans.

The deadline to register for the primary election is July 12. Starting July 13, advance ballots will be mailed and in-person voting opens.

We Need To Declare Our Independence From The Federal Reserve – Bitcoin Magazine

This is an opinion editorial by Joe Moffett, a contributor at Bitcoin Magazine.

The Democrat and Republican parties have been wielding social movements as weapons in a culture war. Is it time the Libertarian Party wields the Bitcoin hammer in the battle against the Federal Reserve?

In the cypherpunk mailing list, Satoshi Nakamoto had a back-and-forth exchange with an unknown cryptographer:

You will not find a solution to political problems in cryptography. Unknown cryptographer

Yes, but we can win a major battle in the arms race and gain a new territory of freedom for several years.

Governments are good at cutting off the heads of a centrally controlled networks like Napster, but pure P2P networks like Gnutella and Tor seem to be holding their own. Satoshi Nakamoto

Between Nakamotos emails, the Bitcoin white paper and the source code, there was probably nothing they said with a more aloof tone than this quote. I have to imagine they understood the economic ramifications that would come with developing such a system and this was likely why they remained anonymous. Then again, maybe they were blissfully unaware that there is no more dangerous enemy to the power of the state than economically free people.

Many early adopters of bitcoin were more likely software and tech gurus than they were economists or libertarians, but this comment by Nakamoto was profoundly libertarian. After all, if the government can wage war on poverty, drugs, crime and terror, why cant libertarians and Bitcoiners alike wage war on money printing? Its hard to overstate the phrasing here: [W]e can win a major battle in the arms race and gain a new territory of freedom.

The Libertarian Party, under new management, recognizes just how important Bitcoin is in this battle. Angela McArdle, chair of the Libertarian National Committee, embraces the importance of bitcoins scarcity, self-sovereignty, and censorship resistance. On a phone interview, McArdle shared:

Inflation is being reported at 8.6%, but if you fill up the gas in your car, you know that it must be higher than that. No one knows the real rate of inflation, but what I do know is you cannot print more bitcoin. You can print dollars perpetually until its worthless like Venezuela, but you cant print more bitcoin.

Sure, the Libertarian Party is using the language, Declare your independence from the Fed, in a metaphorical way, but we can never forget that our country was founded on a very real Declaration of Independence that led to something very tangible.

We, the members of the Libertarian Party, challenge the cult of the omnipotent state and defend the rights of the individual. The Libertarian Partys Statement of Principles

Today more than ever, the enforcement tool of the so-called omnipotent state and those in power is their monetary policy. The monopolization of fiat currency and the burden of taxes have become weapons of the state to empower Washington and disenfranchise the people. Libertarians and Austrian economists have been sounding the alarms for decades, but as Ron Paul has attributed to George Orwell, Truth is treason in the empire of lies.

At a certain point however, the truth comes out.

This inflation was either due to incompetence or deliberate debasing of the U.S. dollar, but Jerome Powell, chair of the Federal Reserve Board, admitted that he doesnt understand basic economics. I would have preferred him to come out and admit he lied.

Our favorite Bitcoiner, Peter Gold Schiff, along with every Austrian economist, pointed out how inflation works when the money printer started in March 2020 (when Schiff comes to the same realization as Bitcoiners, we will welcome him with open arms),

So here we are, July Fourth is coming up and we, the people, are in a quandary. Our leaders lie, our media covers for them, our financial institutions are corrupt and consent of the governed sounds more like a brand slogan than the foundation of our government.

So what options do we have?

Fix the money, fix the world.

Bitcoin is the greatest peaceful revolution the world may ever know. Back to that seemingly innocuous Nakamoto quote, [W]e can win a major battle in the arms race and gain a new territory of freedom for several years. The arms race they must be referring to is power political and economic of governments versus economic power in the hands of individuals. Maybe its time to turn Rosie the Riveter into Dolores the Diamond Hands.

Libertarians and Bitcoiners are allies in the fight for sound monetary policy. Speaking of a Bitcoiner and Libertarian alliance, McArdle said, Its important for us to build a parallel economy, so in the event the dollar collapses completely, or some kind of financial crash, we have something to shift over to laterally. The more people that have Bitcoin and understand it, the better.

Nakamoto had this revelation when they said, Its very attractive to the libertarian viewpoint if we can explain it properly. Im better with code than with words though. Clearly, they werent wrong. Nakamotos creation spawned a movement without a speech or catchy slogan, just code and believers. Some of us libertarians may have been a bit late to bitcoin, myself included, but the troops are coming.

Revised Version of My New Article on "Immigration and the Economic Liberty of Natives" – Reason

The Statue of Liberty.

The revised version of my new article on "Immigration and the Economic Freedom of Natives" is now up on SSRN. This revision addresses a number of issues and potential criticisms more fully than the original version. Here is the abstract:

Much of the debate over the justice of immigration restrictions properly focuses on their impact on would-be migrants. For their part, restrictionists often focus on the potentially harmful effects of immigration on residents of receiving countries. This article cuts across this longstanding debate by focusing on ways in which immigration restrictions inflict harm on natives, specifically by undermining their economic liberty. The idea that such effects exist is far from a new one. But this article examines them in greater detail, and illustrates their truly massive scale. It covers both the libertarian "negative" view of economic freedom, and the more "positive" version advanced by left-liberal political theorists.

Part I focuses on libertarian approaches to economic freedom. It shows that migration restrictions severely restrict the negative economic liberty of natives, probably more than any other government policy enacted by liberal democracies. That is true both on libertarian views that value such freedom for its own sake, and those that assign value to it for more instrumental reasons, such as promoting human autonomy and enabling individuals to realize their personal goals and projects.

In Part II, I take up left-liberal "positive" theories of economic freedom, which primarily focus on enhancing individuals' access to important goods and services, and enabling them to have the resources necessary to live an autonomous life. Some also focus on expanding human capacities generally, or give special emphasis to enhancing the economic prospects of the poor. Here too, migration restrictions impose severe costs on natives.

Finally, Part III describes how to address situations where potentially harmful side effects of migration might undermine either negative or positive economic liberty of natives, without actually restricting migration. I have addressed such issues in greater detail in previous work, and here provide only a short summary of my approach and its relevance for economic liberty issues.

Boris Johnson Leaves Behind a Bigger, Bloated State – Reason

After a truly surreal 36 hours, British politics has some clarity: The prime minister, Boris Johnson, will resign, thus triggering the third Conservative leadership contest in six years. His successor (due to be picked from a field of hopeful Tory parliamentarians which could easily stretch to a dozen people) is expected to take office this autumn. The race begins now.

For British libertarians, the end of the Johnson premiership is a bittersweet moment. For all his association with liberty-crushing lockdowns, many of us still remember when Johnson was a darling of the freedom-loving right. He used to be the politician who made his career rallying against the excesses of the nanny state while thumbing his nose at bores and bureaucrats alike.

It was this penchant for freedom and optimism that made Johnson such an effective campaigner for Brexit. Unlike the nativist grievance peddling from the likes of Nigel Farage, Johnson painted Brexit as a chance to build a more outward-looking and ambitious Britain. All we had to do first was "take back control"and end the supremacy of European Union regulation. It was a theme that went on to power both his leadership and general election campaign of 2019.

But shortly after the newly-crowned prime minister broke the political deadlock around Brexit, there came a new crisis: COVID-19. At first, Johnson's much-heralded libertarian instincts held up nicely. In one of his early press conferences about the pandemic (in which he encouraged a nervous public to minimize social contact and keep physical distance), Johnson laughed off a question about calling in the police to enforce common sense. Within weeks, he had been persuaded by his advisers to order a full lockdown.

It was this heavy-handed approach that would go on to shape 18 months of British politics, as the country veered from punitive lockdowns (at one point opting for the most stringent measures in Europe) to equally invasive lockdown-lite measures like the "rule of six." As backbench libertarian members of Parliament raged, Johnson's acolytes sought to assure the public that these measures flew in the face of his political instinctsand would disappear as soon as possible. But many of us weren't convinced.

The truth is that, even as the pandemic faded, Johnson's newfound "big state" instincts did not. One of the first warning signs was when, after Johnson had been hospitalized with COVID-19, he announced an expansive anti-obesity agendapromising to ban multibuy deals on unhealthy food; end television advertising of sweets and crisps; and even make calorie counts compulsory on all restaurant menus (a move that would have placed a disproportionate burden on small businesses).

Downing Street didn't just come after our diets. One of the government's flagship legislative proposals was the much-criticized Online Safety Bill: a sprawling manifesto on internet regulation that would see web hosts fined vast sums for failing to remove "legal but harmful" content (the exact meaning of which would be subject to the judgment of government ministers). Free speech advocates saw it for what it was: a censor's charter.

His supposed libertarianism didn't add up to much when it came to taxation and spending, either. Having used his leadership campaign to define himself against the austerity measures of previous Tory governments, Johnson spent his time on Downing Street going even furtherdriving up state spending in pursuit of lofty policy goals (including using taxpayer cash to protect the assets of millionaire pensioners by introducing a socialized cap on privately-provided elder care).

Under big-spending Boris, tax levels reached the highest level since WWII. A sneaky decision not to inflation-proof tax thresholds meant that 2 million people just got pushed into a higher tax bracket, even though their real-terms earnings have not necessarily increased. Businesses didn't fare much better eitherjust look at the recent decision to levy a short-notice "windfall tax" on the increased profits of energy firms (which comes on top of the planned hike in corporation tax).

Inevitably, this profligate attitude was going to bring trouble for a maverick like Johnson. And so it did last month when a mooted plan to ignore World Trade Organization rules in order to unfairly subsidize British steel (a move designed to appeal to Johnson's protectionist "Red Wall" voters) led to the resignation of Christopher Geidt, the prime minister's ethics adviser. Although, of course, none of those scandals came close to Partygatethe lockdown-breaking spree that hastened Johnson's downfall.

For all his promise, the truth is that Johnsonthe supposed savior of the Tory rightwill end up leaving behind a Britain considerably less free than the one he inherited. Many will continue to praise him for delivering Brexit, but this misses the point. While the U.K. may be out of the E.U. legal orbit, we've done almost nothing to take advantage of it, retaining the vast majority of the regulations that Johnson used to rail against so persuasively.

If there's one positive, it's thatas the Johnson premiership goes down in flamesperhaps the Conservative Party will finally rediscover its commitment to liberty. There are already signs that at least one serious candidate (the current foreign secretary, Liz Truss) plans to run on a more libertarian-oriented platform in the upcoming contest. Others are likely to follow in the coming weeks.

If Conservative voters have paid attention during the Johnson premiershiprather than remaining blinded by party or Brexit loyaltythey will have observed the folly of "big state" conservatism. Let's hope this summer they vote in a way that reflects that.
