Thalassemia, Hemophilia, Hepatitis, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, and different types of cancer are only some of the medical conditions affecting the human body which require special care. Patients suffering from these diseases usually struggle to receive the costly and ongoing medical treatment that they need. In Iran, the ordeal is even tougher. Such patients not only have to worry about keeping up with the increasing costs of their treatments but now as a result of tighter sanctions imposed by the US and the EU they also have to deal with the severe shortage of the medicine that they need. The medication these patients require is mostly produced in Europe and North America. In this edition of the show we will be looking into the nature of the US-led sanctions against Iran and the consequences of these sanctions on patients suffering from special medical conditions.
