Bill Nye vs Penn Jillette (Arguing Endorsing Obama 2012 libertarianism politics )
Libertarian Penn Jillette debates the Science Guy Bill Nye on his weekly podcast, "Penn #39;s Sunday School". Bill was on to discuss the fake article that had him blasting Todd "Legitimate Rape" Akin. These are three clips from an interview that lasted over an hour. The majority of the time, they keep things light and cordial. It was durring these three exchanges, that the tone and atmosphere became slightly (Very slight, these guys are so cool and nice) awkward. The last three minutes is the most "heated" the debate got. I #39;m a huge fan of Penn, and while I #39;m probably more inclined to agree with Bill on the issues they discussed, Penn does have me questioning if maybe we should just let things get worked out over the long term, even if in the short term there could be less then optimal consequences. The one point that I don #39;t quite understand, is when Penn brings up Martin Luther King 8:54. Isn #39;t that a case where the Federal government came in and imposed restrictions on racist people #39;s freedoms? Isn #39;t this Bill #39;s point, that Libertarian principles only work if EVERYONE starts from the same starting line, which obviously is not the case. I wish they had debated longer and really got into it, but they #39;re not politicians, and did not appear to want to engage in anything too heavy.
