Another great day. I walked to the MXAT by myself in the morning and this city still just amazes me. Constant bombardment of sounds and sights which enlivens the senses. We had a hard time finding the location of our first class Russian Film History because apparently our helpers didn't feel it was necessary to give us any sort of tour of the MXAT where all of our classes are held so that we

Therersquos only so much ldquoIrsquoll use you for all I canrdquo attitude a hardworking honest chap like myself can take and upon hearing the three day lsquoLabour Dayrsquo national holiday was possibly being overlooked by my immediate superior I decided it was finally time to fight back. A fight back that was surprisingly over before it started my secret weapon my contract la

Godfrey Returns
Well hello my lovely friends. It has been a very busy year for me and I have been away a lot. Forgive me for not updating my photos sooner but I will be endeavouring to rectify this over the next few weeks. My first photo update is from a trip to Fiji last year with Dr Krauel. I had a wonderful time boating and sunning myself on the beach. It was so difficult to return.
Over the Water and Up the Haines Hwy
We were at the ferry by 10 waiting in long lines. We were lined up by who knows what plan but some of us were going only to Haines the first stop an hour away. We would load last. It was interesting to watch the big rigs load and watch those in charge pick and choose who went on next. I told Kerry it was kind of like a tetris game they had to fit by size and weight. While we waited we wa

They came from under my door
Living in a Chinese apartment building means a ton of paper gets shoved under my door on a daily basis. Here is a sampling.
The Encore
In a kind of Back To The Future part 1 type scenario at the current time of finishing the Singapore blog and to be fair the majority of the latter blogs of SouthEast Asia we have been in Australia we have now been here for nearly three months and are currently living by Bondi Beach and working in Sydney. We have been working at our current job for just over two months and it has taken me th
Labor Day
Labor Day May 1st was Labor Day here in China. We all had the Saturday off and celebrated by taking a walk through Lian Hua Shan Park along with a few thousand other people. Nothing funny happened so Irsquove no quirky story from the day.It was really hot and humid that day. We met at Bruce and Rosemaryrsquos apartment then walked over the park and started the ascent. Lian Hua Shan has qui
Lima Peru
Well here we are in South America. We spent most of today hanging out in the airport reading our books and waiting for our flight. Flight was great. It was only about 4 hours I think so a little shorter than we thought.Since we didnt check any baggage we were really quick through customs and were out in the lobby. We spent about 5 minutes looking around for the driver with a sign with our nam

Aswan Abu SimbelTemple Sailing on the Nile
Yesterday we stared early to catch a plane that would take us to the Abu Simbel Temple. According to the pilot was 122 degress. I say anything over 117 its all the same. The flight was about 25 minutes. I think it was the pilots first time but not sure we made it safe so that is all that counts. The Temples are amazing. Carved out of the mountain in one solid piece. You go inside and there are ro

Sunset. Slow...ing... down. Sleeping.Cruising can be a pretty hectic if you let it. Even if you don't... it can still be frenetic. So... now we're getting the idea to schedule quality time with nature our natures and the bigger one outside our hull.In terms of our progress we've been on a strict schedule one day of motoring and 1 2 or 3 days of hanging out in easy anchorages. Time to rest h
PRAIA DA ROSA
We had three wonderful days in Praia da Rosa. Only a couple of hours by bus from Florianapolis but a million miles from anywhere. Praia da Rosa is a jewel. It is seemingly undeveloped and unspoiled but in truth there are tonnes of pousadas hotels and hostels but they are just tastefully and sympathetically done. We stayed in Bouganvillea Pousada. In truth it was well out of our budget but

Kuala Lumpur
Thursday 3rd June Kuala Lumpur. The ship docked in the Port of Kelang where we became a part of farcicle operation of trying to organise 1500 ageing Australian pensioners into tour groups for the trip into Kuala Lumpur. And what a farce it was. I have seen better organized wars and it was funny but not funny seeing everyone walking round in circles not knowing where to go and trying to follo
Police Apartment
Day 18 WednesdayUp and out by 900 AM. I have breakfast at the hole in the wall and on to the Sweet Caf to have the terrible coffee use the wireless access. Take care of some business and email Janice. My mouse shoots craps. I hate the mouse pad. I manage to buy a 9.80 mouse for 10.81 with relative ease. They seem to charge 10 percent extra if you put it on a credit card and they really hate
Day one
We left Rockford under a bright clear blue cool sky and after a 6 hour ride we rolled into O'Fallon Il on a hot muggy partly cloudy afternoon. Got a little rain south of Springfield though not enough to warrant a rain suit. That would have made it a lot more uncomfortable with that on. Didn't take any pictures on the way down since most people see flat ground in Illinois. Not remarkable.
