Rainy in Brugge
I'll start with a general update. The weather has warmed such that we don't need the heater on at night. David hasn't worn his long johns for about 5 days and I am now wearing shorts and a tshirt without a tank top underneath for warmth. In terms of rain it is supposed to rain on and off most of this week so we are planning as we go and the clouds move. Don't think I have told you before but
The Canadian Rockies
When all I cared about was to snowboard and conquer one of the best mountains in Canada I wasn't prepared for the natural beauty and splendor of the Canadian rockies. To be quite honest I'm not one to be amazed of mountains covered by snow not that I'm not a nature or outdoor person I am but since living in Toronto for over 10 years a mountain covered in snow is just as ordinary as any mall th
TAXI part 2
On the way into work this morning the radio news told of a protest in Musaffah by drivers for a taxi firm complaining about a new system of fines that their employer was introducing if they were at fault in an accident sorry traffic colision accident implies there is nobody to blame. The fines are a bit steep up to 5000 Dirhams 900 quid at today's rate and cosidering they earn about 3500 Di
Day 9 To Hershey
Today the weather was very cold and rainy. We are glad we did not camp out last night After a very late morning sleeping in at Days Inn we departed for Hershey where we would be staying with Jerome's friend Mitch. The drive though raining a lot was very beautiful. Mountains began to appear and I discovered a new perspective of them they are very beautiful surrounded by mist and fog. O

Letrsquos just say last year we thought we might be eating a Chihuahua named Honey. We were waiting looking over the koi ponds outside the hotel in the shade in about 90 degree weather for our dinner
Business in Mobile. Day 8
A day off. Tuesday June 8. Drove about 30 miles south of Mobile to Bellingrath Gardens and Home. Got there about 9 AM. By the time I got about two steps away from the car I was sweating. By the time I bought my tickets I was soaked. The 10000 sq ft mansion was built in 1935 by one of the first US bottlers of Coca Cola. Apparently bottling was an extremely lucrative business. I strolled the gar

Business in Mobile Day 7
Churches everywhere you look Monday June 7th. Meetings and phone calls re house today so didn't really get to do much sightseeing. But I'm fascinated with the number and architectural variety of the churches here so while I was running around I stopped and shot three of them. Not very many when you consider there is one on every corner. I estimate there is about one church for every inhabitant in
Universal Studios Hopper
As Matt and I embark on our second year of marital bliss the most important lesson we have learned is simply understanding the importance of vacations. Regardless of place or duration getaways truly allow us to recharge our batteries and put the focus back on us.This mini trip to Universal Studios couldn't have possibly come at a better time It's been about a month since this trip so this ent

Not much to report. Picked up groceries and loaded the freezer frig and cupboard. We were able to locate a tow dolly so we are pretty well set.Gary remembered the brochures so we will look at them tomorrow night. Gary is still cleaning windows. I'm sure the bugs will just slide right off....Tomorrow night is laundry night and then pack on Friday. It does sound like we will be going to a very
Let the Journey Begin
We are at the end of a very long day 1 and everything went great We had a very full day beginning with our ridiculous meeting time of 430 am. Who set that stupid time anyway After two great flights we landed in Bawstan 30 minutes early After meeting Andrew Gyure our Tour Director we boarded the bus and met our driver Jerry. They are both fantastic and we look forward to a wonderful week with
Kennedy Space Centre
From Orlando it takes a little over an hour to drive to Kennedy Space Centre. An organised trip was going to cost us 95 each including the coach fare but doing it by ourselves proved much better. We paid just 40 each for our our tickets and that gave us 2 days of exploration plus entry to the Astronaut Hall of Fame. We didn't do everything in 2 days so quite what we would have managed to see on

Week 2 Coromandel Penisula Rotorua Waitomo Taupo
We Started Week 2 with an early start from our overnight stay hiding amoungst the rest of the Apollo fleet. With the girls sleeping in the back of BIG FAT SUE we drove from Auckland and headed east to the Coromandel Penisula. Our destination for the day was a place suitably called Hot Water Beach. For 2 hours either side of low tide you can access and area of sand in front of a rocky outcrop
thunderstorm and Uno
