72 Hours Til We Gotta Return... Super Cyborg (24 Hours Remain) - Video
A bout between Ronda RouseyandCristiane Justinohas been the biggest potential fight in womens MMA for years now, but rarely seems as though its close to a done deal.
Justino (12-1 MMA) more commonly known by her nickname,Cyborg has fought her career at145 pounds, an entire weight class up from where Rousey (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) has competedsince moving to bantamweight in March 2012.Thesticking point of weight seemed to have been sorted out when Cyborg planned a drop to featherweight only to suffer an injury that delayed the move.
Now, Cyborg returns to action on Feb.27, defending her Invicta FC featherweight belt againstCharmaine Tweet (6-4). Not only is that one day before Rousey is set to defend her UFC bantamweight title against Cat Zingano (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC), but both fights take place in Los Angeles.
During a FOX Sports 1 interview over the weekend, Rousey was asked if she feels that the Cyborg move is raining on her parade.
Ithink Im pretty much the parade rainer in this duo, Rousey said. Im just really focusing on Cat, and thats it. Cyborg has tried to show up at my weigh-ins before, which I didnt even notice. She showed up at the (Sarah) Kaufmann weigh-in, but I was so focused on what I was doing and focused on Kaufmann that I didnt even see her.
Rousey, who has caused past stirs by calling Justino an it, as well as repeatedly bringing up her failed drug test, was civil while discussing her rival. The UFC champ says she has no intention of focusing on a potential opponent when she has a challenge in front of her already.
Ill deal with Cyborg when its time to deal with her, when she comes around and shes tired of dragging this whole thing out Rousey said. As you see with (Manny) Pacquiao and (Floyd) Mayweather, sometimes its a good thing to really drag it out and build that anticipation. Im going to beat Cat now and worry about her later.

A MAN from Dorset is appealing for help in his quest to rid the beaches of Weymouth and Portland of rubbish.
Simon Owens, 52, from Milton Abbas, is on a one-man mission to try and clean up the beaches in south Dorset after noticing an increase in rubbish being washed up along the shores.
He has launched his campaign, called Operation Perfect Organisation, to clean the beaches and is hoping the initiative will catch on throughout the country in the near future.
Mr Owens is currently collecting rubbish from the beaches once a week, mainly collecting plastic and other recyclable items, and is now asking local residents or businesses to help with the storage of the rubbish before it is recycled.
After just one clean earlier this week, Mr Owens filled his small container on Portland and said if he is to continue the cleans he will need a bigger unit.
Mr Owens said: I have been doing beach cleans for years, but it was always quite small cleans and this year I want to make a bigger difference.
Im 52 and I thought it was about time I made a big difference to the local community and there is so much rubbish on the beaches. Im hoping that over the next year the project will bring a lot of people together across Dorset and across the whole of the country to clean the beaches, but in each place we need to find a large enough space to store the rubbish before it is recycled.
Mr Owens said after he has collected the rubbish, he will separate all of what he finds before recycling it himself.
He added: There is plenty to do, there is plenty of rubbish on the beaches and there are thousands of litter pickers.
I think its very important to keep our beaches clean, it makes them look a lot nicer and it can also be incredibly harmful to wildlife.

In just the past few years, Robert McMillan writes in Wired magazine, dramatic advances have been made in the field of artificial intelligence. With Skypes Star-Trek-like instant translation capabilities, Googles self-driving cars and computers that can teach themselves to humiliate humans at arcade games, he says, the new developments are both exhilarating and scary.
In AI Has Arrived, and That Really Worries the Worlds Brightest Minds, he reports on the fears of experts who gathered at a closed-door conference in Puerto Rico in early January; among the industry talents were Elon Musk of SpaceX and Tesla, Skype co-founder Jaan Tallinn and Google AI expert Shane Legg. Think of that game-winning computer, Tallinn told the meeting: Though the technologist in me marveled at the achievement, the other thought I had was that I was witnessing a toy model of how an AI disaster would begin, a sudden demonstration of an unexpected intellectual capability. In other words, its a little too much like a precursor to The Terminator.
Delegates to the conference signed an open letter pledging to conduct AI research only for good. Another letter outlined research priorities that would involve studying the economic and legal effects of robots that can take away human jobs or manipulate financial markets; Musk kicked in $10 million to help pay for the research.
Its not a new fear, McMillan notes: Last year a Canadian company, Clearpath Robotics, promised not to build autonomous robots for military use. On its Web site the company posted this statement: To the people against killer robots: We support you.

Artificial intelligence is marvelous unless its part of a killer robot
New York startup Robotbase is turning to Kickstarter to build a highly ambitious robot that would serve as a smart personal assistant for your home. Referred to simply as "Personal Robot," this device is set to combine image recognition, natural language comprehension and other advances in artificial intelligence into a single device that can converse with you, serve as a personal stylist, and even tell bedtime stories to your kids.
The very best that artificial intelligence has to offer today are so-called narrow AIs, complex algorithms that can compete with or even outperform humans in a highly specialized field, but whose smarts cannot translate to other arenas. When Deep Blues narrow AI beat reigning chess world champion Garry Kasparov back in 1997, some took it to mean that an artificial general intelligence, an eclectic AI that can think and adapt like a human brain, was close at hand. Eighteen years later, were still waiting.
The holy grail of a truly eclectic artificial intelligence has been elusive so far and may still be very far off. However, over the past two decades, the combination of better hardware and better software is making it possible to create much more sophisticated narrow AIs that can rival humans in more and more complex fields, from recognizing objects from a picture to driving and even (tentatively) understanding human language.
With its "Personal Robot," Robotbase is attempting to combine several advanced narrow AIs into one smart assistant. By putting together algorithms for facial, emotion and object recognition, as well as systems to understand human language and answer questions through Wolfram Alpha, it is creating a personal assistant that doubles as a photographer, storyteller, telepresence device and home automation system.
According to its creators, Personal Robot will allow you to control all your connected devices via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee and Wireless Z-Wave Plus. Just like with your smartphone, youll be able to get quick answers about weather, news and sport scores, as well as playing music, setting alarms, scheduling meetings and ordering food, among other things.
One of the things that sets this apart from being just a Siri for your home, however, is the emphasis on home automation. The robots sensor array includes 3D depth cameras, temperature, humidity, light and pressure sensors and even a CO2 meter. It is mounted on a wheelbase with servos, free to more about on its own, and will build a map of the house on its own so that, while youre away, it can send you updates and even stream live video feeds from any room to enhance home security.
Like the Jibo, the Personal Robot also aims to be a storyteller for your child and a smart photographer that can recognize moods and facial expressions, but adds to that the ability to walk you step by step through a new recipe in the kitchen or even serve as a personal stylist.
The robot boasts proprietary natural language processing algorithms that can "understand what you say and know what you mean." Judging from the products Kickstarter page, the vision is to create a robot that can understand the intricacies of language and facial expressions by multiple people, even from meters away, and seamlessly and proactively interject with appropriate facial expressions, a rich voice tonality, and data which is relevant to the discussion at hand. Since this is an extremely challenging task from a technical standpoint, it will be interesting to see how this highly ambitious Personal Robot delivers on its promise.
Early adopters will have the option to access the robots software development kit for Android, allowing developers to build their own apps that will be sold on a dedicated virtual store later this year.
The original crowdfunding goal of US$50,000 has already been met with three days left before the end of the campaign. You can pledge US$995 for your own Personal Robot ($1,000 off the retail price), with an extra $200 for shipping outside of the US. If everything goes according to plan, delivery of the Personal Robot will be completed by December this year.

An image captured by the Hubble telescope shows a galaxy in the process of being devoured by a bigger galaxy nearby.
The distorted form of spiral galaxy NGC 7714. ESA, NASA
Just because space is (theoretically) infinite, that doesn't mean everything out there is neatly spaced. Things collide, from tiny objects smashing into other tiny objects, to objects on the galactic scale -- quite literally.
Spiral galaxy NGC 7714, roughly 100 million light-years from Earth, is one of those galaxies for which crowding is proving a dramatically brutal affair: it has drifted a little too close to nearby larger galaxy NGC 7715, and is taking its time cannibalising its neighbour, as seen in a new photo snapped by the Hubble Space Telescope.
Sometime between 100 million and 200 million years ago, the two galaxies reached a close enough distance from each other to start disrupting each other's shapes -- evidenced by the peculiarity of NCG 7714.
Unlike a normal spiral galaxy, its arms have stretched out and a smoky golden haze extends from the core.
Additionally, a ring and two long trails of stars have stretched towards NCG 7714 -- forming a sort of bridge between the two galaxies. That bridge funnels material from NGC 7715 to the larger NGC 7714 and feeds star formation in NGC 7714, most of which is occurring at its core, although the entire galaxy is active.
A large number of these new stars are what are known as Wolf-Rayet stars. These are stars that, when they are young, are massive -- at least 20 solar masses each. They are very hot, with surface temperatures ranging between 30,000 and 200,000 degrees Kelvin (the Sun's surface temperature is around 5,778 degrees Kelvin) and very luminous, shining with tens of thousands to several million times the luminosity of the sun (although most of that output is in the ultraviolet spectrum).
Wolf-Rayet stars are the "live fast, die young" stage in the evolution of massive stars. Although they burn very hot and bright, they also lose mass at an accelerated rate, about a billion times higher than the sun's rate, due to very strong solar winds. Eventually the star runs out of material, and ends its life in a dramatic supernova.
Because of this star formation, NGC 7714 has been classified as a Wolf-Rayet starburst galaxy.

BRUSSELS: NATO head Jens Stoltenberg urged the alliance Friday to brace for further challenges after a "black year" of Russian intervention in Ukraine and terror attacks on Europe's streets.
Unveiling NATO's 2014 annual report, Stoltenberg said a new rapid reaction force would help cope with a changing security environment but urged the 28 member states to keep their commitments to boost defence spending.
"2014 was not a good year for European security. In fact it was a black year," said Stoltenberg, the former Norwegian prime minister who took over as NATO Secretary General in October.
"Our security environment has fundamentally changed," he said.
He highlighted Russia's role in Ukraine as a key problem, saying it was defying international norms, destabilising the country and intimidating its neighbours.
Russia's increased defence capabilities including the ability to launch snap military exercises on a huge scale were "part of the reason why we have decided to change our defence posture", he said.
Stoltenberg also warned of the threat from the Islamic State and other extremist groups on NATO's borders, especially after the Paris attacks earlier this month in which homegrown jihadists killed 17 people.
"To the south, violent extremism is at our borders. Spreading turmoil across North Africa and the Middle East and fuelling terrorism on our own streets," he said.
The NATO chief said defence ministers meeting next week would finalise the list of countries taking part in a so-called "spearhead" quick reaction force which the alliance's leaders agreed at a summit in September.
