With the FIFA Womens World Cup 2015 set to kick off on 6 June, fans across Canada will be given the chance to get a taste of what is to come when the Womens World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola launches in Ottawa on 1 April. The two-month, 12-city tour will be free to the public and is set to travel from coast-to-coast in celebration of football and women in sport, giving Canadians a rare chance to get up-close-and-personal with the FIFA Womens World Cup Trophy.

The first ever tour of the official FIFA Womens World Cup Trophy will include several interactive and engaging elements, as well as surprises along the way - all in the spirit of setting the stage for what is anticipated to be the largest live spectator sporting event in Canadas history and the biggest Womens World Cup to-date.

This trophy tour will be the rallying cry for our team leading up to the tournament in June, said Canada womens coach John Herdman. As the Trophy makes its way across Canada, and we see the support and pride that Canadians have for the game and our team, it will push us even harder.

Fans will get a feel for what they can expect during the tournament this summer at the custom-designed Fan Experience where they can go head-to-head with the Coca-Cola Robot Goalie, record a cheer for their favourite team, hang out in the FIFA locker room, play 16-person foosball or learn a trick or two from expert freestylers. The experience leads to a winners tunnel which leads the way to the trophy display where fans will get their photo with the original FIFA Womens World Cup Trophy. There will also be special guest appearances from Official Mascot Shume and afterwards, guests will cap off their experience with a perfectly served, limited edition aluminium bottle of ice-cold Coca-Cola.

HS coach betting his life on stem cell surgery

Jeff Dienhart took a deep breath. Painfully. The tubes from his oxygen tank shifted slightly near his nostrils as he began to speak.

"I was originally diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at the age of 17," Dienhart said matter-of-factly. "At that time, life expectancy for someone with my disease was to live into your early 20s."

At 44, Dienhart, an assistant coach for the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights girls basketball team, long ago beat those odds.

He crouched forward and struggled to take another deep breath, no longer able to hide an illness he used to be embarrassed about.

"Basically, his day is: Wake up, take care of himself and go to basketball," said his son, Drew Dienhart.

The coach has defied other statistics as well. The odds suggest, for example, that many men with cystic fibrosis are infertile, yet Dienhart fathered two children.

Nor are CF sufferers supposed to be able to play marathon rounds of golf.

"I would tell the doctor he played 36 holes of golf in 90-degree heat," said Dienhart's mother, Kathy Dienhart. "The doctor would tell me I made that up. My husband and I came to the conclusion that he is a fighter. Odds don't mean anything to him."

All of which may go some way toward explaining why Dienhart now is preparing to take the riskiest gamble of his life to try to extend his life before the inexorable slow-motion suffocation of cystic fibrosis finally takes its toll.
