Dog day adoption event Friday at Visalia Fox Theater profiles a few of the dogs available – Valley Voice

Bailey is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She is very loving and loves to be loved. Her owners moved out and left her at the vacant property to fend for herself. The neighbors became aware that she was left behind and began to feed and water her as they thought maybe the owners will return for their family member. They never came back. We were called and now Bailey is ready for her furever home!

Dewey is a sweet boy that had a rough life, so he starts out scared, but never aggressive. He and two of his fur family members found themselves being surrendered to the CCSPCA in Fresno. We saw a post about them being on the euthanasia list and we were not about to let that happen, so we pulled them into our rescue. His two fur family members have been adopted and he is the lone dog standing. He has been waiting so patiently for his furever family.

Bruno is probably one of the best dogs you will ever meet. He is dog friendly, kid friendly, crate trained, playful and calm when needed and most of all very loving. Brunos gets anxiety at night and needs to be inside with his owners or inside in his crate, not outside roaming around in the backyard. If someone out there can understand that this is how Bruno roles, then he will make the perfect companion in any household.

About PAW Estate Rescue & Shelter, Inc.

Both licensed Realtors by trade, but devout dog lovers by nature, Gil and Lana founded and incorporated PAW Estate Rescue & Shelter, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit, foster-based dog rescue, in 2020. However, their mission of helping dogs in need and giving them a doggone chance began four years prior when they assisted local rescuers in saving the life of a dog named Cooper who was on the euthanasia list at a local shelter.

With the help of the community and the foster families that volunteer, we strive to save and protect as many dogs as possible strays, abandoned dogs, owner surrenders, special needs from homelessness, abuse, and neglect. We are strongly committed to our mission.

Gil and Lana are in this for the long-haul. Rest assured that as long as there are homeless, abused, and unwanted animals, they will continue in their pursuit of giving them a doggone chance!

Big League Politics has reported on how the federal overreach has increased drastically since Jan. 6 as the war on terror is now focused primarily on the homeland:

The U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation on Wednesday giving the Biden administration vast new domestic authority to combat supposed homeland terrorists.

The vote largely fell on party lines and was approved by a 222-203 margin. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), the neoconservative Never Trump RINO, joined the Democrat-led effort to eviscerate the Bill of Rights and Constitution.

The legislation, the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2022, gives the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) increased snooping powers in order to target domestic threats. This will inevitably be used against patriotic Americans, who have been demonized as terrorists since the Jan. 6 protest at the U.S. Capitol.

The Democrats are exploiting the victims of the recent Buffalo mass shooting in order to initiate their illicit power-grab.

This past weekend, we had the shooting in Buffalo. We had a shooting in California. We had a shooting in my district, a gang shooting where a 14 year old boy was killed, said Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL), who was a co-sponsor of the bill.

We need to address what is an epidemic of gun violence in the country. We need to tackle the challenge of domestic extremism. And the only way we do that is finding a bipartisan way to push the ball forward together, he continued.

I cant say this law would have stopped what happened in Buffalo. What I can say is that if we give the abilities of the FBI, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security to try to intercept these threats before they become a reality, maybe we stop the next Buffalo or the next El Paso, the next Pittsburgh attack, Schneider added.

Some Republicans who supported the bill during the previous legislative session no longer support the measure because of the Biden regimes overreach.

The difference from two years ago and now is that the DOJ has started going after concerned parents showing up at school board meetings, labeling them domestic terrorists, Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) said.

What Is Classical Liberalism? | Mises Institute

[American Conservatism: An Encyclopedia , 2006]

"Classical liberalism" is the term used to designate the ideology advocating private property, an unhampered market economy, the rule of law, constitutional guarantees of freedom of religion and of the press, and international peace based on free trade. Up until around 1900, this ideology was generally known simply as liberalism. The qualifying "classical" is now usually necessary, in English-speaking countries at least (but not, for instance, in France), because liberalism has come to be associated with wide-ranging interferences with private property and the market on behalf of egalitarian goals. This version of liberalism if such it can still be called is sometimes designated as "social," or (erroneously) "modern" or the "new," liberalism. Here we shall use liberalism to signify the classical variety.

Although its fundamental claims are universalist, liberalism must be understood first of all as a doctrine and movement that grew out of a distinctive culture and particular historical circumstances. That culture as Lord Acton recognized most clearly was the West, the Europe that was or had been in communion with the Bishop of Rome. Its womb, in other words, was the particular human society that underwent "the European miracle" (in E.L. Jones's phrase). The historical circumstances were the confrontation of the free institutions and values inherited from the Middle Ages with the pretensions of the absolutist state of the 16th and 17th centuries.

From the struggle of the Dutch against the absolutism of the Spanish Habsburgs issued a polity that manifested basically liberal traits: the rule of law, including especially a firm adherence to property rights; de facto religious toleration; considerable freedom of expression; and a central government of severely limited powers. The astonishing success of the Dutch experiment exerted a "demonstration effect" on European social thought and, gradually, political practice. This was even truer of the later example of England. Throughout the history of liberalism, theory and social reality interacted, with theory stimulated and refined through the observation of practice, and attempts to reform practice undertaken with reference to more accurate theory.

In the English constitutional struggles of the 17th century a number of individuals and groups displayed significant liberal traits. One stands out, however, as the first recognizably liberal party in European history: the Levellers. Led by John Lilburne and Richard Overton, this movement of middle-class radicals demanded freedom of trade and an end to state monopolies, separation of church and state, popular representation, and strict limits even to parliamentary authority. Their emphasis on property, beginning with the individual's ownership of himself, and their hostility to state power show that the amalgamation of the Levellers to the presocialist Diggers was mere enemy propaganda. Although failures in their time, the Levellers furnished the prototype of a middle-class radical liberalism that has been a feature of the politics of English-speaking peoples ever since. Later in the century, John Locke framed the doctrine of the natural rights to life, liberty, and estate which he collectively termed "property" in the form that would be passed down, through the Real Whigs of the 18th century, to the generation of the American Revolution.

America became the model liberal nation, and, after England, the exemplar of liberalism to the world. Through much of the 19th century it was in many respects a society in which the state could hardly be said to exist, as European observers noted with awe. Radical liberal ideas were manifested and applied by groups such as the Jeffersonians, Jacksonians, abolitionists, and late-19th-century anti-imperialists.

Until well into the 20th century, however, the most significant liberal theory continued to be produced in Europe. The 18th century was particularly rich in this regard. A landmark was the work of the thinkers of the Scottish Enlightenment, particularly David Hume, Adam Smith, Adam Ferguson, and Dugald Stewart. They developed an analysis that explained "the origin of complex social structures without the need to posit the existence of a directing intelligence" (in Ronald Hamowy's summary). The Scottish theory of spontaneous order was a crucial contribution to the model of a basically self-generating and self-regulating civil society that required state action only to defend against violent intrusion into the individual's rights-protected sphere. As Dugald Steward put it in his Biographical Memoir of Adam Smith (1811), "Little else is requisite to carry a state to the highest degree of opulence from the lowest barbarism, but peace, easy taxes, and the tolerable administration of justice; all the rest being brought about by the natural course of things." The Physiocratic formula, Laissez-faire, laissez-passer, le monde va de lui-mme ("the world goes by itself"), suggests both the liberal program and the social philosophy upon which it rests. The theory of spontaneous order was elaborated by later liberal thinkers, notably Herbert Spencer and Carl Menger in the 19th century and F.A. Hayek and Michael Polanyi in the twentieth.

One argument between liberals and Burkean and other conservatives who in important respects stand close to liberalism is related to this central liberal conception. While liberals typically expect the market in the widest sense the network of voluntary exchanges to generate a system of institutions and mores conducive to its continuance, conservatives insist that the indispensable underpinning must be provided by the state beyond the simple protection of life, liberty, and property, including especially state support of religion.

With the onset of industrialization, a major area of conflict opened up between liberalism and conservatism. Conservative elites and their spokesmen, particularly in Britain, often exploited the circumstances of early industrialism to tarnish the liberal escutcheon of their middle-class and Nonconformist opponents. In historical perspective, it is clear that what is known as the Industrial Revolution was Europe's (and America's) way of dealing with an otherwise intractable population explosion. Some conservatives went on to forge a critique of the market order based on its alleged materialism, soullessness, and anarchy.

To the extent that liberals associated conservatism with militarism and imperialism, another source of conflict arose. While a strand of Whiggish liberalism was not averse to wars (beyond self-defense) for liberal ends, and while wars of national unification provided a major exception to the rule, by and large liberalism was associated with the cause of peace. The ideal type of antiwar and anti-imperialist liberalism was provided by the Manchester School and its leaders Richard Cobden and John Bright. Cobden, particularly, developed a sophisticated analysis of the motives and machinations of states leading to war. The panacea proposed by the Manchesterites was international free trade. Developing these ideas, Frdric Bastiat proposed an especially pure form of the liberal doctrine that enjoyed a certain appeal on the Continent and, later, in the United States.

Liberalism's adherents were not always consistent. This was the case when they turned to the state to promote their own values. In France, for instance, liberals used state-funded schools and institutes to promote secularism under the Directory, and they supported anticlerical legislation during the Third Republic, while in Bismarck's Germany they spearheaded the Kulturkampf against the Catholic Church. These efforts, however, can be seen as betrayals of liberal principles and in fact were eschewed by those acknowledged to be the most consistent and doctrinaire in their liberalism.

The basis for a possible reconciliation of liberalism and antistatist conservatism emerged after the experience of the French Revolution and Napoleon. Its best exponent was Benjamin Constant, who may be viewed as the representative figure of mature liberalism. Faced with the new dangers of unlimited state power based on manipulation of the democratic masses, Constant looked for social buffers and ideological allies wherever they might be found. Religious faith, localism, and the voluntary traditions of a people were valued as sources of strength against the state. In the next generation, Alexis de Tocqueville elaborated this Constantian approach, becoming the great analyst and opponent of the rising omnipresent, bureaucratic state.

In English-speaking countries the hostility of antistatist conservatives has been exacerbated by an extreme emphasis on the role of Bentham and the Philosophical Radicals in the history of liberalism. J.S. Mill's On Liberty (1859) actually deviated from the central line of liberal thought by counterposing the individual and his liberty not simply to the state but to "society" as well. Whereas the liberalism of the early Wilhelm von Humboldt and of Constant, for example, saw voluntary intermediate bodies as the natural outgrowth of individual action and as welcome barriers to state aggrandizement, Mill aimed at stripping the individual of any connection to spontaneously generated social tradition and freely accepted authority as, for instance, in his statement in On Liberty that the Jesuit is a "slave" of his order.

It is the socialist state that classical liberalism has opposed most vigorously. The Austro-American Ludwig von Mises, for example, demonstrated the impossibility of rational central planning. Prolific for more than fifty years, Mises restated liberal social philosophy after its eclipse of several decades; he became the acknowledged spokesman for liberal ideology in the 20th century. Among the many students on whom Mises exercised a remarkable influence was Murray N. Rothbard, who wedded Austrian economic theory to the doctrine of natural rights to produce a form of individualist anarchism, or "anarchocapitalism." By extending the realm of civil society to the point of extinguishing the state, Rothbard's view appears as the limiting case of authentic liberalism.

Classical liberalism is often contrasted with a new social liberalism, which is supposed to have developed out of the classical variety around 1900. But social liberalism deviates fundamentally from its namesake at its theoretical root in that it denies the self-regulatory capacity of society: the state is called on to redress social imbalance in increasingly ramified ways. The plea that it intends to preserve the end of individual freedom, modifying only the means, is to classical liberals hardly to the point as much could be claimed for most varieties of socialism. In fact, social liberalism can scarcely be distinguished, theoretically and practically, from revisionist socialism. Furthermore, it can be argued that this school of thought did not develop out of classical liberalism around the turn of the century when, for instance, the alleged fraudulence of freedom of contract in the labor market is supposed to have been discovered. Social liberalism existed full-blown at least from the time of Sismondi, and elements of it (welfarism) can be found even in great classical-liberal writers such as Condorcet and Thomas Paine.

With the end of the classical-socialist project, classical liberals and antistatist conservatives may agree that it is contemporary social liberalism that now stands as the great adversary of civil society. The political preoccupation of classical liberals is, of necessity, to counteract the current now leading the world toward what Macaulay called "the all-devouring state" the nightmare that haunted Burke no less than Constant, Tocqueville, and Herbert Spencer. As older quarrels grow increasingly obsolete, liberals and antistatist conservatives may well discover that they have more in common than their forebears ever understood.

Why ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Is the Best Rock Song Ever, According to The Struts’ Luke Spiller – Loudwire

Having to choose one song to represent the greatness of rock 'n' roll seems nearly impossible because there are just way too many out there. Do you start with The Beatles? Led Zeppelin? The Struts' Luke Spiller didn't hesitate to name Queen's anthemic "Bohemian Rhapsody," and he has a pretty interesting description as to why.

"I wouldn't even class it as a rock 'n' roll song, but I think what it does so beautifully is that it embodies everything that rock should be," Spiller asserted to Loudwire Nights host Toni Gonzalez.

"If planet Earth was to be represented by one song in like, a galactic, Eurovision-esque song contest, we would all put forward 'Bohemian Rhapsody' because it shows the absolute best qualities of music," he continued. "When it comes to rock, it has everything. It has the amazing lyrics, it's got amazing musicality, it's got the melodic ballad-esque and then it has the hard rock element. It has probably some of the greatest guitar work that's ever been recorded. The vocal arrangements everything about it is just pure bliss."

The vocalist acknowledged that "Bohemian Rhapsody" may seem like a "basic answer," but argued that he can't think of another one that would better suit the question than that.

Spiller is undoubtedly a Queen fan, and he's actually been compared to the band's legendary frontman Freddie Mercury since The Struts surfaced in the 2010s. While he noted that comparisons are simply a part of human nature, he isn't upset about it at all, and said that it's an honor.

"I think it's nice, I'm waiting for the call to go sing with Queen officially," he concluded.

The Remarkable Customer Experience Recovery System and Digital Transformation | By Are Morch – Hospitality Net

In the hotel industry, we have traditionally emphasized customer service and customer service recovery.

Customer service is the assistance and advice provided to a customer for a hotel's product or service as needed.

And customer service recovery have represented the ability of a hotel to solve a dissatisfied customer's problem through good customer service.

The principles of customer service and customer service recovery have been built around data from surveys, customer forums, inspections, audits, dedicated customer research, reviews, and reputation management tools.

And the results from this data have shaped everything from hotel employee bonuses and executive compensation to strategic investment decisions.

But today we live in a new world with new unique customer demands that require hotels to think outside their traditional box.

Today hotels have the opportunity to discover a wealth of new data from predictable insight in real time.

Hotels can now interact with the customer at any point in their journey, which gives them the opportunity to discover any customer experience issue or opportunity long before the customer was aware of that was going make a dedicated hotel booking.

Lets jump into it and start transforming the customer experience with your hotel.

According to Mckinsey, a customer experience digital transformation can increase the revenue of a brand by 20 to 50%.

The best-in-class brands today are meeting customer expectations at a new level as a result of new innovative systems that embrace the digital customer experience.

Today, hotels can regularly, lawfully, and seamlessly collect smartphone and interaction data from across their customer and operational systems, yielding deep insights about their customers.

Where do you start creating a Remarkable Customer Experience System?

1. Start with understanding the Customer Experience Journey

One of the most critical aspects of the Customer Experience Journey is to start listen and collaborate with your hotels employees.

The only way to create a remarkable customer experience system that understands the journey is to build relationships and make friends first!

Start co-creating your hotels digital transformation process with employees is an essential success factor. Brands that don't include employees in the process either fail or have a low success rate.

Include your employees who will take care of the customers, and help your hotel identify the best ways to work with your customers.

Now when you have got your hotel employees onboard it is time to reimagine hospitality by creating a unique Experience Vision of perfection centered on the customers.

It is NOT about being perfect, it is about to IMAGINE perfection centered on the customer.

Together with your hotel employees decide what you want your hotel's experience vision to look like. And then start mapping down the experience journey exactly like you want your hotel to serve your customers.

Dont stop before you have an experience vision map so detailed where you feel you can reach it and touch it. At this point you will know exactly what perfections looks like and what your goals are.

Then collaborate with your employees to help look at the reality to identify roadblocks and bumps.

At this point you have an experience vision map that defines how perfections looks like from your hotels point of view.

Time to alter your hotels experiences vision by discovering the customers vision of what they want.

Today customers want hotels to create an experience with them, not just for them.

Now you have to start creating a customer experience vision map. Utilize your employee to gather data and insight with your customers.

When you have enough data and insight from your customers then start to align the two experience vision maps. Pay attention to what the customers want and where your hotel can meet and exceed their expectations. What the customers want only has meaning within the context of your hotel experience vision.

If the customers experience vision is too far outside your hotels experience vision it is ok to tell them to go somewhere else. But make sure you to include in your hotels experience vision references for the customers where they can find an experience that might be a better fit for their vision.

Trying to deliver everything to everybody will make any experience vision fail.

You will at this point have an Experience vision map that takes into account your hotel, employees, and customers' data and insight.

One of the most important principles of the experience vision system is to start consistently meeting expectations first!!

If your hotels dont get it right in the first place you will never be able to exceed expectations. Let say your hotel meet expectation one time, fall short another time, and then exceed now and then, from the customer's perspective, your hotel is inconsistent. The result is that customers will leave indicating their experience was fine, or say nothing at all only to leave discouraging reviews for your hotel. At this point it is very likely they will never return to your hotel again.

Digital transformation and customer experience represents a journey that require systems and training that implements the systems into the soul of the hotel.

It is important to create systems that allow for flexibility and differentiations. In the past with customer service recovery many hotels follow certain rules and steps to assure customer satisfactions. But today we want to move away from intimidating processes that in some ways creates robots.

This is about having a flexible system in place that ensures consistency. The system itself assures that your hotel delivers a minimum standard of performance consistently.

Once you have consistency going then ongoing transformations becomes equally import. Plus one percent will keep you moving ahead and focus beyond your hotel's new innovative and flexible experience vision.

The key is to focus on one percent improve a week, every other week, every month or every other month. Whatever rocks your boat! Things will improve if you keep improve your experience vision one percent at the time.

With a focus on plus one percent your hotel are not blindly setting course that dont have control over. It allows you to add the magic ingredient that guarantees experience vision transformation improvements rather than just a change.

How will this system help the customer experience recovery for hotels?

We have now put in place a system where we are working with employees and customers to get a better understanding of their needs.

This is a system that will not let us blame circumstances, conditions, or conditioning for any behavior. It is a system that allows us to take proactive actions in collaboration with employees, customers, and the local community.

It is a system that creates raving fans that will take your hotel to new unexplored markets.

One of the key principles of raving fans today is to see beyond your employees and customers. The key is to build a passionate community of like-minded people.

Implement your local community into your hotel's experience vision. Lets say there is an incident at your hotel's pool or restaurant that require you to close either one.

No matter how great our system is concerns will still happen. The key is to implement immediate alternative responses into your hotel's experience vision.

Creating a community of raving fans is essential for your hotel's customer experience recovery. When we focus on learning and help to learn we all can help each other.

Google are putting in place an eco-system to that will take your hotels experience vision to a new galaxy.

Digital transformation happens when people and technology work in harmony. And this system takes advantage of both people and technology to ensure a flourishing experience vision for your hotel.

Google Analytics 4 is helping hotels to better understand customer preferences and create better experiences for them. It has machine learning at its core to automatically surface helpful insights and gives you a complete understanding of your hotel customers across devices and platforms.

Google Analytics 4 will alert your hotel when there are significant trends related to your data. This is a given experience that offers seeing rising demands cause of new customer demands.

It will also help your hotel with anticipating future actions your customers may take. Youll also get a better understanding of your customers across their entire lifecycle, from acquisition to conversion and retention.

Google helps hotels making the digital transformation process more streamlined, which will prepare you for whats coming next. This will help hotels respond to rising consumer expectations, regulatory developments, and changing technology standards for user privacy.

Your hotel's raving fans include your employees, customers, non-customers, local community, vendors, partners, and brand advocates.

As part of your hotels new experience vision you have created a community that will all play a key role in your customer experience recovery system.

You are no longer just a hotel that serves heads on the bed. Your hotel is now part of the community campground.

To reward your hotel's raving fans start becoming a selfless givers. When you start working with employees, customers, and the local community you learn that giving is a creative art.

The creative art of giving consists of 80% selfless giving, and the remaining 20% is letting other people do nice things for you.

All the giving in the world wont bring success, and wont create the results you want unless you also make yourself willing and able to receive in like measure. Because if you dont let yourself receive, youre refusing the gifts of others and you shut down the flow.

You will now have a remarkable Customer Experience Recovery system that will earn your hotel more direct bookings without competing with the OTA, and help increase your revenue by 20 to 50%.

Hotels today have to invest in people and technology in a context that adds value to everyone involved.

Dont continue to neglect or take the people's transformation for granted. Technology is a digital tool that will help your hotel when implemented in collaboration with your employees.

Partner with your employees and they will help with retaining and hiring people.

I also invite you to work with me as your hotel partner to help implement a new innovative digital transformation framework that opens the digital gateways to more direct bookings without competing with the OTA.

This opportunity takes that to the next level we get to work with international creative partners in Simon and Ben and Sunder as a partner and to create an original series out of India with the best possible practices available.

Locomotive founder Sunder Aaron, who is separately working with Applause on Gurinder Chadhas seriesSeeker, said the market conditions were right for a procedural drama series to be developed. In India, there are prestige drama productions, which are evolving, and there are telenovela serial dramas that go on and on, but there is a gap in the middle for a high quality procedural drama that is fit to be seen globally, said Aaron.

The world allows us to be courageous in storytelling and thats whats great about Ben and Simon coming here theyre not imposing their story on the writers and production here but want to bring the best practice and help guide it so its globally accepted. Sameer has had the courage to take a wider view of the Indian market and bring in talent to collaborate and do something better.

Mirren and Anderson are currently building an intensive writers room of local writers, who will use the U.S. procedural framework used on shows likeCriminalMinds to create a long-running crime series. The pro-serial term they are using refers to a procedural with serialized elements in the storylines.

Mirren and Anderson have been developing a system based on their experiences aimed at empowering creatives to oversee their own precinct-based procedurals, exploring the creative, visual and technical languages of the format and teaching best practice from other international shows.

For 20 years Ive been meeting writers around the world in Germany, Australia, France and teaching them how to make a procedural drama framework in five days, said Mirren. I expanded on that idea with Benjamin, taking his understanding of narrative and my experience as a showrunner, and we decided to take that out to emerging markets.

If we could provide them with that eco-system where they could learn their craft, that could be something special and it something we both know a lot about, added Anderson.

After developing what the partners are calling the creative eco-system, Mirren and Anderson will work in an ongoing collaboration with the Indian team running the show to fully develop and produce it. The creative and production teams at Locomotive and Applause will also provide support.

Development on the first series is underway and Mirren and Anderson told Deadline they are in Mumbai meeting Indian judiciary, police experts and crime journalists and visiting production facilities to ensure complete authenticity. This will help them curate storylines that are driven by the local writers room, they said.

Mirren began his TV career working on British medical proceduralCasualty and co-created long-running BBC spy dramaSpooks before moving to the U.S. to work with Ed Bernero on NBCsThird Watch. The pair then teamed on Jeff Davis-created CBS dramaCriminalMinds, with Mirren going on to write and direct numerous episodes and eventually showrun several seasons. He most recently created French period dramaVersailles, which was for Canal+.

Anderson, who producestelevision, feature films, and immersive entertainment has developed and set up several global and local language projects. He was most recently Executive Vice President of Development and Production at Phoenix Pictures. During that time he developed working relationships withChinas Shanghai Film Group and Japans Fuji TV. He also spearheaded a co-venture with AMC to build a global incubator program for emerging talent around the world. He also worked at National Lampoon as a creative executive and started in the business working forQuentin Tarantinos company A Band Apart.

The mission statement for Case Closed is to go to emerging territories and look to create these eco-systems for procedural drama to support, uplift and educate above and below the line, said Anderson.

Natures Vault Launches Gold-Linked Utility Token NVLT in the Polygon Ecosystem – The Daily Hodl

August 25, 2022 Singapore, Singapore

Launched earlier this year, Natures Vaults mission is to develop innovative and impactful ESG investments that combat climate change namely greenhouse gas emissions and ecosystem degradation. Its the first blockchain solution to tokenize geologically quantified un-mined gold deposits.

The companys first project, the Legacy Token, ultimately aims to acquire the mining rights over and protect at least one million ounces of gold, located in environmentally pristine locations across Canada.

The company has already acquired the first 125,000 ounces at a location called Pistol Lake in Ontario and is in active negotiations on their second acquisition. This preservation of gold is then tokenized as the Legacy Token or NVLT.

Polygon is a layer two blockchain development platform that believes in making Web 3.0 more accessible. Polygon enables developers to build scalable user-friendly DApps with low transaction fees without ever sacrificing on security.

The Polygon ecosystem allows developers to sidestep a number of limitations on the Ethereum blockchain, namely high gas fees and sluggish throughput all while leveraging the security features of the Ethereum mainnet.

Stefan Renton, sustainability lead at Polygon, said,

Polygon acts as a base layer for innovation and development of new solutions to our planets most critical problems. That is why we are delighted to have Natures Vault on Polygon. Natures Vault is tackling environmental impact in a creative way, showcasing itself as an example of projects we are strongly committed to supporting.

Polygon is a multi-purpose ecosystem that leverages eco-friendly proof-of-stake consensus. At the time of writing, over 3.4 billion transactions have been made on the platform with over three million transactions per day and the platform hosts over 37,000 decentralized applications serving a user base of over 142 million.

As a strategic partner, Polygon hosts the Legacy Token on the Polygon blockchain and will facilitate transactions of the token once it launches. Presales of NVLT start next month, and Natures Vault expects to hold its public sale of the Legacy Token in November 2022 on a leading global exchange.

Phil Rickard, founder and CEO of Natures Vault, said,

We are delighted to partner with Polygon and position Legacy Token in their rapidly expanding Web 3.0 ecosystem. Together, we are creating real opportunities for investors to not only acquire a gold-linked token but also participate directly in our mission to combat climate change by reducing unnecessary gold mining. We are working hard to change the way society thinks about and invests in gold. An investment in Legacy Token on the Polygon network is an investment in our planets future.

Natures Vault, is a Singapore-based green tech company, focusing on innovative and impactful natural capital solutions. Natures Vaults focus is on the future. Beyond the climate crisis, they believe in the conservation of natural capital resources, which we all have a duty to protect.

Integrators and relationships: what CMOs are looking for from agencies – Bizcommunity.com

Marketers are spending 50% of their budgets on brand building and 50% on sales activation in the digital arena.

This is according to the Agency Scope 2021/22 research from interviews with more than 3,000 key-market CMOs globally.

Previously the impact of Covid19 on digital growth was highlighted.

CMOs have realised that platforms such as Google and Facebook do not necessarily help strategically but are good value tactically. Agencies, however, have become even more important from a strategic point of view and are valued as strategic partners when they can advise on the best use of various platforms.

Scopen Africa Partner and CEO of the Independent Agency Search & Selection Company (IAS), Johanna McDowell, says that CMOs across the globe want to work with specialists in the digital space, realising theres much more to digital than just content and performance marketing.

McDowell says marketers also recognise that they must have one agency within their ecosystem that is an integrator and helps the CMO to integrate all the different functions of each participant in the system, bringing these together in a cohesive way.

It must be clear that this integrator should not be seen as the driver of the eco-system; but rather as the facilitator that ensures the right agencies are in place to meet the strategic plan.

As McDowell suggests, this may not necessarily be the creative agency. In the past, this task was often given to the media agency, which may be a solution worth taking into consideration.

Scopen data shows 49% of CMOs globally have a lead agency, which could be any of a companys agencies but must have the ability and acumen to consolidate the functions of a whole group and have them work as a cohesive unit.

In analysing and tracking more than 6,000 marketer-agency/partners relationships across the world, Agency Scope 2021/22 sees the order of marketers key discipline requirements now being:

When seeking the ideal agency partner, both strategic planning and knowledge have grown in demand.

Graph supplied.

Reviewing new business activities in the post-pandemic years, McDowell says CMOs now want more face-to-face meetings than online and, while video calling may still be used for agility and speedy conversations, preference will always be given to meeting in person.

As mentioned in previous highlights, clients are generally satisfied with their agencies. However, if they are going to go out to pitch, they now have integration high on their lists and will look to ensure the incumbent agency is able to be effectively integrated into the mechanics of the clients current organisations.

Agencies should note that when a CMO is looking for an agency, they will always ask how well that agency will be integrated into their ecosystem. Its not just about the great creative idea or an agency being brilliant in the media arena its become equally important to respond to the CMOs key question: How well will this agency partner with my organisation?

Another key area of interest highlighted in the Global Trends Masterclass is the importance of case studies when a marketer is looking for an agency.

However, these are not just to enable the marketer to see the work the agency has done what todays CMO is looking for is the ability to troubleshoot, so theyll be looking at problems that the agency helped the marketer to solve, and how they solved them.

Finally, the digitally-savvy CMO wants agency partners who can understand data, manage it, and integrate it. If this is beyond the ability of the agency, the partnership wont work.

As marketers continue to seek the best ROI from their investment in agencies, stand-out companies that bring creative innovation; market, client and brand knowledge; and strategic planning will likely make the cut. However, should this be packaged with integrated services offering and digital capabilities, the CMO may well have a winner.

Objects in your sky: Comets

by Dominic Ford

Below is a list of the brightest few comets that are visible at present.

You are welcome to reproduce the text below for non-profit purposes, providing you credit In-The-Sky.org.

The position of each comet is calculated from orbital elements published by the Minor Planet Center (MPC).

The brightnesses of comets are estimated from magnitude parameters published by the BAA Comet Section, where these are available. These are computed from the observations they receive from amateur astronomers.

Comets are intrinsically highly unpredictable objects, since their brightness depends on the scattering of sunlight from dust particles in the comet's coma and tail. This dust is continually streaming away from the comet's nucleus, and its density at any particular time is governed by the rate of sublimation of the ice in the comet's nucleus, as it is heated by the Sun's rays. It also depends on the amount of dust that is mixed in with that ice. This is very difficult to predict in advance, and can be highly variable even between successive apparitions of the same comet.

In consequence, while the future positions of comets are usually known with a high degree of confidence, their future brightnesses are not. For most comets, we do not publish any magnitude estimates at all. For the few comets where we do make estimates, we generally prefer the BAA's magnitude parameters to those published by the Minor Planet Center, since they are typically updated more often.

Comet (goldfish) – Wikipedia

Breed of goldfish

The comet or comet-tailed goldfish is a single-tailed goldfish bred in the United States. It is similar to the common goldfish, except slightly smaller and slimmer, and is mainly distinguished by its long deeply forked tail. Comet goldfish tend to have a diverse variety of colors, unlike the common goldfish.[1]

The comet-tailed goldfish breed was developed in the United States from the common goldfish by Hugo Mulertt, a government worker, in the 1880s. The comet goldfish was first seen in the ponds of the U.S. Government Fish Commission in Washington, D.C.[1][2] Mulertt later became a propagator of goldfish and an author of books on goldfish. He introduced the comet onto the fish-keeping market in quantity.[3][4][5][6]

The comet goldfish can be distinguished from the common goldfish by its long, single and deeply forked tail fin. Comets with yellow, orange, red, white, and red-and-white coloration are common. The red coloration mainly appears on the tailfin and dorsal fin, but can also appear on the pelvic fin.

The comet is more active than most other goldfish breeds. It is not unusual to see a comet dashing back and forth in its tank, racing around in a playful manner. Due to the comet's hardy and active nature, and the relative ease in caring for them, they are the breed best suited to ponds and outdoor pools. They are often kept with koi in outdoor ponds. Comets have a natural life span of 5 to 14 years and may live even longer in optimal conditions.[1][2][7]

Goldfish are commonly bred on fish farms in many parts of the world. In most instances, the fish produced are offered for sale to aquarists. However, in North America, there is a demand for goldfish used as bait or "feeder fish" to other fish by anglers.[2] Due to the relatively inexpensive prices of comet goldfish, they may also be used as prizes in carnivals or other places of entertainment.

Germany: Monarchs-Adler and Comets-Hurricanes Season on the line in two do or die games – American Football International

Graphic: Igor Lazarevic

By Noah Constantino

The last week of the German Football League regular season is set to cause fireworks. In both the GFL North and GFL South divisions, there will be a win or go home atmosphere to decide who will take the last spot for the playoffs.

The first game to be played will be August 27 when the GFL South final playoff berth contest between the Saarland Hurricanes and the Allgu Comets kicks off. It is the Comets game to lose as they come in with a winning record of 5-4 and the fourthspot in the GFL South. Allgu looks to get back to the playoffs and put up a stronger showing than last year when they suffered a crushing 50-13 loss at the hand of the Dresden Monarchs in the 2021 quarterfinals.

On the other side, Saarland come in looking to dethrone Allgu for the rights to the last playoff spot. Coming off of a huge win against the Ravensburg Razorbacks last week, the Hurricanes look to continue to right the ship and make the playoffs yet again. Saarland was able to make it out of the first round last year, before also suffering an embarrassing loss to Dresden, 37-0 in the semifinals.

In the GFL North, the same can be said with their fourth and final spot for the 2022 playoffs up for grabs. The win or go home game will take place the next day on August 28th, between the Dresden Monarchs and Berlin Adler.

Dresden, the reigning GFL champs who have struggled this season, still have a chance to win back-to-back titles. However, they need to win this game to clinch a playoff berth as they find themselves currently on the outside looking in, holding fifth spot.

Berlin, who currently sit fourth in the GFL North standings, looked great at the midway point of the season. With a 4-1 record and sporting a three-game winning streak, the sky looked to be the limit for the Adler. However, the second half of the season has proved not to be as fortunate for Berlin as they dropped three in a row before finally getting a win last week against the Kiel Hurricanes.

This will be the second time that Berlin and Dresden face each other this year. Berlin was able to outlast the Monarchs earlier in the season in a close 48-42 victory. Hopefully for them, they will be able to offer up another good game in the regular season finale.
