First City ever! in Europe with libertarian governing majority
From Eric Dondero:
For the first time ever, a libertarian party has secured a working majority in a city of the Netherlands. Dutch media services are reporting that Geert Wilders and his Party of Freedom (PVV), has won big in Almere; a planned city, only a few decades old. The population is 188,000. It is located in western Holland, south of Amsterdam.
The PVV is a pro-free enterprise, pro-free speech, pro-sexual freedom political party. The party fiercely opposes the institution of Sharia law in Dutch cities, increased immigration from Islamic nations, and government hand-outs to illegal immigrants squatting in Dutch cities.
The party grew out of the Pro-Dutch culture movement of the deceased gay libertarian activist, Parliament member, and presidential candidate Pym Fortuyn. He was assasinated two weeks before national elections in 2003, by a Muslim sympathizer on the streets of Amsterdam.
The far-right Party for Freedom (PVV) of anti-Islam MP Geert Wilders came first in municipal elections in Almere, east of Amsterdam, with 21.6 percent of the vote, according to partial results released early Thursday.
Radio Netherlands - If they continue to do this well, "Wilders the next Prime Minister"
Final results are not yet in, but all indications are that the PVV will place second in the Netherland's second largest city, The Hague.
And the Dutch press is seeing this as a portend for upcoming national elections. From Radio Netherlands:
Far-right politician Geert Wilders has made major gains in local elections held in the Netherlands. Taking part in two cities it has become the largest party in Almere and the second largest in The Hague.
Mr Wilders was visibly buoyed by the results and was characteristically combative saying this was the first step in the upcoming campaign for parliamentary elections.
"The national campaign begins today in Almere and The Hague, tomorrow in all of the Netherlands… On 9 June, we'll conquer the Netherlands," said Mr Wilders
The Freedom Party has profited more than any other from the fall of the Dutch cabinet ten days ago. The party currently has 9 seats in parliament (out of 150).
If voters had elected a new parliament on Wednesday, the Freedom Party would have won between 24 and 27 seats. In one poll, it would be the largest single party. If his party does that well come June, Geert Wilders could become the next prime minister.
I have Nokian PF controller N-12 in PFI improvement plant in main distribution board which rating is 3500A currently supplying only 500-700A. Capacitors are connected in following sequence;
• Stage 1 & 2 50KVA
• Stage 3 - 6 100KVA

while designing the suspension system for a vehicle... a number of parameters are taken into account and a suitable one is designed.. after that suspension tuning is carried out... what exactly is done here... what parameters are being altered or adjusted here??
My Acer 5570 laptop goes blue screen when trying to start itunes. Has anybody chased up the fix for this sort of thing. I tried remove and reinstall but it just went blue screen even faster. Have done a virus check etc with Norton 360, found nothing. Thanks for comments.
Commerical production of nanostructured microspheric chrome-alumina catalyzers of dehydrated isoparaffins KDI-90 and adsorbents for desiccant drying of olefin-containing feedstreams will be conducted within the the framework of this project.
CSIRO scientist Dr Tara Sutherland and her team have achieved another important milestone in the international quest to artificially produce insect silk. They have hand-drawn fine threads of honeybee silk from a 'soup' of silk proteins that they had produced transgenically.

Oxford University has announced the dates for its 2010 Nanotechnology Summer School. The Summer School Programme offers five one-day courses designed to introduce participants to the advances that are being made in the rapidly developing field of nanotechnology. The courses focus on nanotechnology for energy, biomedical nanotechnology and nanosafety.
After two years of consultation, the FramingNano Governance Platform as the final outcome of the corresponding FP7 research project has been published. The Platform describes a heuristic process of how current and future challenges in nanotechnology governance can be identified, assessed and decided on, and proposes a number of strucutal elements to achieve this.
Among various nanomaterial candidates for water treatment, metal oxides have been widely used as removal agents for various heavy metal ions and their removal capacity was found to be relatively reliable. The removal mechanism for heavy metal ions is thought to be the formation of a strong bond between metal ions and metal oxide surfaces. This strong complexation is advantageous for complete removal of heavy metal ions but it presents a drawback if one wants to design a reusable agent by reviving the reaction site for heavy metal ions. Precisely because the removal mechanism is based on the strong complex formation between metal ions and oxide surfaces, recycling of these removal agents has proved to be difficult. Offering a potential solution, researchers have demonstrated a recyclable removal agent for heavy metal ions by fabricating a core-in-shell structure based on a core of carbon nanotubes and an iron oxide microcapsule structure.
