The Last Hurrah
We've reached the end of our journey in Auckland NZWe arrived in Auckland at 825pm local time 625pm Aus time so we still had tons of energy and caught a shuttle bus from the airport to our hostel. The airport is quite a way out of Auckland city about 20km so it was a bit pricey unfortunately. Our accomodations were lovely however and for the second time this trip we found ourselves upgr
Day 107
So I know it's been AGES since my last post and I apologise for that... Nothing really happened you see and I don't want to waste your time on filling an entry with variations of nothing. I guess in the grand scheme of the universe stuff did happen. Let's see... I was in 1770 when I last posted. Three girls who I befriended back in Noosa on the canoe trip turned up a few days in which was ni

Kanchanaburi
After a lovely trip to the UK visiting family and friends we were on our way back to the land of smiles. The trip to Heathrow was worse than the 11 hour flight to bangkok. An accident on the M25 meant that we were stuck on the London Carpark for an extra 2 hours. 4.5 hours in a car isn't an ideal start so glad my dad talked us into leaving a bit early It felt good to be back in Thailand the

Yesterday I got sick so I was not able to right this entry. I am a lot better today. Well anyway yesterday when we all woke up we went to Galaxy and had breakfast. After Galaxy we were driving in the car to get to Utah before we went to Utah we stopped at a dam and John and I went down to go see the dam. When we went to go see the dam someone had carved my name into the rock. So I took a picture
More to do in Kanchanaburi
It isn't just doom and gloom in the Kanchanaburi area but let's start with the Hellfire Pass anyway. We visited the infamous section of the death railway at the Konyu Cutting. There is an official Australian historical memorial site and museum here and they provide an excellent but heartbreaking audio tour which greatly enhances the walking trails. It's full of soundbites from surviving POW's and

Bowen Island getaway
I'd always wanted to check out Bowen Island so was pleasantly surprised when Kenny booked a night over there. Only 20 minutes on the ferry from horseshoe bay meant a nice short journey there. The island is a real little getaway from the daily hustle and bustle and our bb was a real little hidden gem. The island is tiny and explored pretty easily. Our accommodation was overlooking Kilarney lake s

The airport closed just after our flight departed not that we cared we were on our way to ChinaFlight went pretty smooth and we arrived in Beijing last wednesday morning. When Bed Bugs Bite Singapore
Right then im writing this a few days late but at last we have a decent internet connection. We arrived in Singapore last Monday or so and our booked 4bed dorm had somehow changed into a 17 person hellhole. Considering it was about 300 degrees outside we wernt too happy but Singapore was just too expensive to go anywhere else.So we slept in and in the morning Sarah had a bite or two on her arm
