Well tomorrow morning I'll be leaving our house at 7 AM to start my trip. I leave from the Charlotte Airport at 1115 AM and head to Newark NJ for my connecting flight to Lima. I'll arrive in Lima at 930 PM 1030 on the East Coast in the U.S.. From there I'm not really sure what I'll be doing but I'll definitely post it tomorrow or Monday sometime. I'll try to keep this as up to date as po
Vancouver Island
After an awesome time in Whistler it was time to spend a few days visiting Andy's Dad's friends on Vancouver Island. First stop Randy and Noy in North Saanich. The ferry ride from Tswasswan on the mainland to Swartz Bay on the island cost us 13 and was a pretty cool ride. We enjoyed the lovely scenery and views of the islands as we chilled out on the top deck of the ferry. It was a little wi
Seattle
It's Wednesday 5th May and the time has come to leave Canada and head over the border to begin our trip down the West Coast of America. First stop Seattle. We had booked a greyhound bus from Vancouver to Seattle and despite hearing a number of horror stories from people who have crossed the border we passed through customs without any problems although it did take about 1 12 hours and invo
Bloody Knees
It seems that my internal clock has no regard for the state I am in when I go to sleep. A few evenings ago my uncle Eddie took me and my cousin Chris to my second cousins' I'm not good with family terminology. They're basically my mom's and my uncle's cousins to get his van fixed. I knew we were going to see my cousins but what I was unaware of was the copious amounts of alcohol that was going

Endlich geht unsere Tour weiter in Richtung Sdinsel.

Franz Josef and Wanaka
Franz Josef and Wanaka BlogHowdie folks Sam here again. I hope you all enjoyed Laurarsquos blog.Punakaiki was indeed very beautiful. The sea was ferocious and the state of the rocks jutting out into it reflected this ferocity. There is something quite wondrous and gripping about a rugged coastline you canrsquot quite take your eyes off it.Anyway enough about that place we have moved onA

Day 2 Hoover Dam Las Vegas
Hi Everyone Today we went to Hoover Dam Kids liked it a lot. We went down 500 feet into the dam and went into the generator room on the Nevada side and we went into the diversion pipe line cave that houses the huge pipe. We had enough water flowing under us they said it would fill a olympic size swimming pool in one minute. You could feel the rumbling under your feet pretty powerful. We then

Coast to Coast
Being a whisper away from the Pacific Ocean we thought it would be rude not to pop along to Las Penitas to have a quick paddle. So off we trundled on a quick and easy bus journey to stay at Hostel Oasis right on the beach.Land based Las Penitas was VERY sleepy it turns out that May is itrsquos quietest month. The sea however didnrsquot disappoint. Renowned for itrsquos waves and severa
France Caen 5152010
This morning we had our usual breakfast of breads cereal what we have fondly called egg soup yogurt cheeses and meats. I will say the breads with the dark chocolate sticks baked in them have become my favorite. Larry and mom took their stash for lunch. Thank goodness I still have some snacks from home to tide me over. The prices are ridiculous here. A tiny cup of coffee costs 300 euros
Budapest
Our bus ride from Vienna lasted only 3 hours before arriving in Budapest. We walked toward the center of the city toward our hostel from the bus station. After about an hour walk we arrived at an old building bearing our hostelrsquos name. The hostel was not the entire building however as we noticed the hostel name was next to one of the numbers on the call box. It was getting dark and whe
Florence Firenze
On the way to Florence we stopped to have some wine tasting in the beautiful Tuscan hills. It was such a peaceful area. Would have been nice to relax in a BB for a few days We enjoyed a lesson on how they make Chianti and visited the dungeons of the castle where they store the wine. It was such a pretty vineyard and winery. We then sampled a few wines which were accompanied by delicious cheese
Le Grille What the Hell is Le Grille
After our stint is Paris we headed straight for Lyon a smaller city of about 400 000 I'm not checking any of my facts so they're probably wrong. The train to Lyon only takes 2 hours and train travel is something I've grown very fond of. The TGVs train de grand vitesse which pretty much means very fast train that's a lazy name go at about 3400kmph so that's a fair distance. Lyon was a
