Freedom Hangs Like Heaven [One Verse / Cover]
This was purely for my own amusement. I #39;m aware the song is sung in a much lower tone, but I figured, why not. To mess it up a bit more, I was lacking the guitar. Anyways, feel free to like or dislike as you please. Song: Freedom Hangs Like Heaven Artist: Iron and WineFrom:MsMusicalBunnyViews:7 1ratingsTime:00:27More inMusic

The song originated from my earlier memories as a young boy, listening to my Italian grandfathers speak of the war, the roles they played, the friends they lost, and the sacrifices that were made at a terrible cost. They taught me that "LIBERT," was not something to be taken for granted, rather something to be appreciated, celebrated, and cherished." ~Sal YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY SUPPORTING 2 AMAZING CHARITIES... **100% of the proceeds from the downloads of this song are donated equally to: http://www.woundedwarriors.ca (CANADA) http://www.homesforourtroops.org (USA) Song credits: "LIBERT" Written, Composed, Produced by Sal Piamonte Published by Grand Family Publishing C 2012 Grand Family Entertainment Inc. How money can buy freedom

What a crock of beans!!

You can still do all those things even without money.

Freedom of drudgery--> If you call having to constantly buy the "latest andgreatestthing" so that you keep up with the rest of the wealthy people freedom. Best thing I found freeing is realizing that I do not need the latest piece of marketing crap. And why pay for someone to dosomething?Whynot do it yourself so you learn something thus when you save money int he future when this same task comes around again. Plus when you do the job and once completed and looks good, you also get a sense of accomplishment. And why should I care Oprah is in the grocery store or not????

Freedom of travel--> Heck, the section even says you can travel on a shoestring. I like traveling like this as yo see more interesting sights and you meet more interesting people. And I would suggest trying to look around where you live and you might see there are some places that might be just as interesting to go see like that of some spot halfway around the world.

Freedom to choose--> You can choose any time. Yes, it does take some money, but the main thing it takes is "guts." Yes, you might succeed but you also might fail. Do your research (be it online or at the library) and if you have enough money saved up, go for it. Look at Bill Gates, Paul Allen, Steve Jobs, Ralph Lauren, and a lot of other people. They all had an idea and some did have money (and some did not). But they all took a chance....

Freedom of a good education--> Who says you need a degree from Harvard to show you got a good education??? There are some schools that give even better educations than what Harvard or any Ivy League offers. Find a good schools you want to attend due to they have great academic listings and go for it.

Freedom to live longer--> Heck, my grandparents lived during the Great Depression and they all lived into their 90's. Same as with my parents. But they walked to get where they wanted to get to, ate very fresh food (grown out of their garden), they did not eat fast-food crap, and they had a healthy attitude towards life. They were not interested in keeping up with the Jones by buying the latest things. Yes,life threw some nasty challenges at them, but they kept a level head and moved with the flow of things.

So I would challenge the "author" of this diatribe and point out how some people who may not be as well-off (monetarily) yet they seem to be very happy and content on how their lives are going and/or went.

2,500 Expected to Attend Primerica’s ”Freedom Tour” in Pasadena

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Primerica, Inc. (PRI), the largest independent financial services marketing company in North America, announced that it will host approximately 2,500 representatives from across the West Coast for its first annual Freedom Tour. The event, sponsored by the companys African American Leadership Council (AALC) will be held on November 3rd at the Pasadena Civic Center, 300 E. Green St. in Pasadena, California, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Tickets for $15 are available at the door the day of the event.

The event will focus on the great opportunities that exist to educate middle-income African American families about how to better prepare for a secure financial future. African Americans are an increasingly upwardly mobile demographic as evidenced by a 64% increase in households earning $75,000 or more between 2000 and 2009 and today have an estimated buying power of some $1 trillion, yet when asked in a recent survey if financial services companies effectively engage and show support for the black community, 78% of African American respondents answered no.

Los Angeles resident, Primerica Senior National Sales Director and AALC member, Lawrence Walker said, Almost 80% of African Americans say they are either way behind or havent even started saving for retirement. Primerica has more than 90,000 representatives and we do a great job of meeting face-to-face with Main Street families in their homes. Our stated mission is to help families earn more income and become properly protected, debt free and financially independent. We want to recruit more people of all races into our business and elevate current representatives so we can do an even better job of reaching the vastly underserved African American market.

The goal of the Freedom Tour is for Primericas African American leaders to have a forum in which they can mentor, motivate and speed up the learning curve for everyone in attendance, both current and prospective new representatives. Another important part of the meeting is to recognize and reward the success of Primerica African American leaders for their outstanding business accomplishments. The AALC was founded by Primerica in 2000 and was created to recognize and promote leadership among the companys African American representatives. Currently the AALC has some 70 members, earning between $200,000 and $1 million annually. Ivan Earle of Columbia, SC is the AALC Chairman and John Lennon of Greensboro, NC, is the council Vice Chairman.

Primerica Senior National Sales Director and AALC member, Gary Kornegay of Arcadia, CA, said, It is clear that African American families are increasingly upwardly mobile in terms of income, yet they largely remain left behind in terms of being sought out by and receiving the personal service that would help them develop a solid game plan for a more secure financial future. And thats what we at Primerica do for this underserved market every day, face-to-face, across kitchen tables throughout North America every day.

Primerica, Inc., headquartered in Duluth, GA, is a leading distributor of financial products to middle-income families in North America. Primerica representatives educate their Main Street clients about how to better prepare for a more secure financial future by assessing their needs and providing appropriate solutions through term life insurance, which we underwrite, and mutual funds, annuities and other financial products, which we distribute primarily on behalf of third parties. In addition, Primerica provides an entrepreneurial full or part-time business opportunity for individuals seeking to earn income by distributing the companys financial products. We insure more than 4.3 million lives and approximately 2 million clients maintain investment accounts with us. Primerica is a member of the Russell 2000 stock index and is traded on The New York Stock Exchange under the symbol PRI.

Freedom soccer advances to second round for third year in a row

Credit: Charles Wingate | The News Herald

Freedom's Yaret Regino (left) is taken down in the box against Hunter Huss on Wednesday at home.

The Freedom High varsity boys soccer team opened the 3A state playoffs with a 4-0 home win over Hunter Huss on Wednesday at the Catawba River Soccer Complex to advance to the second round for the third consecutive year.

It says a lot about our program, Patriots long-time coach David Fletcher said. And thats why we wanted the No. 1 seed. If you make the playoffs, its been a good season. If you win your conference or win a playoff game, its been a very good season. And if you win more than one playoff game, its been a great season.

So we hope to have a great season. But we know every round gets a little tougher.

Freedom (16-5-1) got started with a fourth-minute goal by McCartney Barrier, who one-timed a shot in midair after receiving a pass from Maco Juarez Son. Tyler Gramer had crossed the ball to Juarez Son from the right wing to set up the goal.

Then after 30 minutes without a goal in the match despite a multitude of Patriot chances, a scramble in front of the Huss goal after a deflected shot resulted in a Barrier assist to Yaret Regino and a 2-0 advantage.

McCartney has scored our first goal in three of our last four games now, Fletcher added. Hes really been hot for us. We talked at halftime about our depth being able to wear them down. But we also felt like there was a lot we left out there in the first half.

Regino tacked on another goal five minutes into the second half, slamming home a close-range shot after taking a long flip throw-in from defender Christian Patton for a 3-0 lead.

I saw it go over the (Huss) player after Christian threw it in, Regino said, and I was just able to get behind him and finish it.

Neeson to receive freedom award

1 November 2012 Last updated at 13:42 ET

Ballymena actor Liam Neeson is set to receive the freedom of his home town.

The Oscar-nominated actor is best known for his starring roles in the Star Wars film The Phantom Menace, Schindler's List and Michael Collins.

Mayor of Ballymena PJ McAvoy will propose that Neeson is offered the Freedom of the Borough at a council meeting on 5 November.

It is the highest accolade the council can give.

Mr McAvoy's SDLP colleague councillor Declan O'Loan said he expected that it would receive cross-party support.

"It is entirely appropriate that this award is made to Liam Neeson," he said.

"He is a very distinguished son of Ballymena and is identified with the town in a way no other prominent individual is.

"This award is a reflection of how widely regarded and well-known he is."

It is not the first time Ballymena council has planned to grant the actor the honour.

Freedom showing seed means nothing

FREEDOM - Freedom coach Clint Kriewaldt left a Division 4 seeding meeting a couple weeks ago and unlike most teams in his position, he said he liked being a No. 8 seed.

Kriewaldt looked at the potential matchups for his team and thought it could make a run. Two games into the postseason, Kriewaldt is still coaching, meaning he knew what he was talking about.

"Freedom's never made it past the second round of the playoffs and that was one of the big goals, to do that, junior running back Nathan Peters said. So we got that done."

But in order to make 3-for-3 in the postseason, Freedom will need to do something it hasnt doesnt this season beat Little Chute in Fridays GameTime Game of the Week. The teams met during Week 3 of the season in an Eastern Valley Conference game and Little Chute won a tough 13-6 game.

If Freedom is to pay back No. 2-seeded Little Chute for that loss, its likely Peters will need to do more than he did in the first meeting. Peters has rushed for 1,744 yards and 18 touchdowns, but against Little Chute, Peters rushed for only 120 yards and a touchdown.

Peters, maybe, can pick up where he left off last week in a 41-33 Level 2 win over Marshall. The junior rushed for 307 yards and five touchdowns. At 5-foot-7, 170 pounds, Peters isnt imposing, but on the field he is.

"He runs hard, Kriewaldt said. I don't think there are too many other kids in the area, or even the state, that you can put him up against that run as hard as he does. For running that hard, he doesn't put the ball on the ground; probably just jinxed ourselves, but he runs hard."

Freedom has defeated No. 1 Chilton, 20-6, in Level 1 and No. 4 Marshall in Level 2. While those wins were impressive, a win Friday would easily outshine those accomplishments.

"It's going to be huge, Peters said. We were really mad after they beat us in the regular season, so we want to really put it to them."

Kriewaldt said to-date his teams success has been great for the area and a Level 3 game against your main rival just adds to the excitement.

ESGR Accepting Nominations for 2013 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense agency, is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Freedom Award is the nations highest award for civilian employers that support their employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve. Nominations may be submitted by Guardsmen, Reservists, or family members acting on their behalf, at http://www.FreedomAward.mil through January 21, 2013.

Nearly one million Americans serve in the Guard and Reserve, making up almost one-half of the nations total military. For more than 10 years, these Citizen Warriors have responded to unprecedented national security demands and humanitarian missions spanning the globe. The civilian employers of Guardsmen and Reservists have shared in their service to our nation by standing firmly behind employees, providing essential support and greater peace of mind.

"Employers of every size and industry continue to go to extraordinary lengths to demonstrate their unwavering commitment to employees serving in the Guard and Reserve," said James G. Rebholz, National Chair, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. "I urge all Guard and Reserve Service members who have benefited from their employer's support to nominate that employer for this most prestigious award. A Freedom Award nomination allows service members to acknowledge and thank their employer for the essential role they play in supporting their military career and in our nation's defense."

Each year, up to 15 of the nations most supportive employers are selected as recipients and honored at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. Past Freedom Award recipients supportive measures have included arranging childcare services for deployed employees, sponsoring trips to visit injured employees, and working longer hours to cover the shifts of employees at military training.

About ESGR and the Freedom Award:

The Freedom Award was instituted in 1996 under the auspices of ESGR to recognize exceptional support from the employer community. In the years since, 175 employers have been honored with the award. Established as a DoD agency 40 years ago, ESGR develops and maintains employer support for Guard and Reserve service. ESGR advocates relevant initiatives, recognizes outstanding support, increases awareness of applicable laws, and resolves conflict between service members and employers. Paramount to ESGR's mission is encouraging employment of Guardsmen and Reservists who bring integrity, global perspective and proven leadership to the civilian workforce.

For questions or interviews regarding the Freedom Award, please contact Beth Sherman, ESGR Public Affairs, at 571-372-0705 or by email at ESGR-PA@osd.mil.

Freedom Valley YMCA proposing merger with Philly YMCA

A merger of the Freedom Valley YMCA and the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity is planned, effective Jan. 1, pending a membership vote, according to Jay R. Schaeffer, president and CEO of Freedom Valley YMCA.

Schaeffer said the proposed merger is a positive move for both organizations that has no downsides.

It will still be members local YMCA, he said. This is not a takeover of the Freedom Valley YMCA.

Schaeffer will retire on the date of the merger, should the membership approve it.

If the merger is approved, I would be retiring after 26 years as president and CEO and 42 years with the YMCA, Schaeffer said in a phone interview. He noted that his choice to retire is voluntary.

Its been wonderful, Scheaffer said recalling his long career with the YMCA.

John F. Flynn, president and CEO of the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity, will become president and CEO of the new merged organization, which will be known as the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA. The new entity will include Freedom Valley YMCAs current five branches and YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinitys 10, as well as proposed Freedom Valley branches in Pennsburg and Lower Providence, and a proposed YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity branch in Haverford, Schaeffer said.

Both the Freedom Valley YMCA, which has a $25 million yearly budget, and the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity, which has a $37 million yearly budget, are financially healthy entities, Schaeffer said. Once merged, they would have a combined budget of $61 million or more, depending on the opening and reach of the new branches.

Well see even more participation and revenue, Schaeffer said.

The membership vote on the merger is slated for Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at Chadwicks Restaurant, The Club at Shannondell, 2750 Egypt Road, Audubon. The vote is open to all current Freedom Valley YMCA members age 18 and above. Votes must be cast in person. Continued...
